She also misquoted me repeatedly, then when I got angry with her incompetence at turning a $350 job into over $1000 without even an actual diagnostic, she cried to her district manager and refused me service. Truly one of the most frustrating experiences. Back in October, I went for a complementary inspection. Paperwork and receipt showed that everything was fine. Two days later, my car battery is completely dead (Lights weren't on or anything). I decide to give them a second chance this past month with a check engine light that kept turning on and off. I bring it in, and check engine light turns back on the next day. Bring it in again, and it spends three days in the shop (mind you, no updates or calls these three days) only for... you guessed it! My light to turn on again. Today, I'm driving and my car momentarily loses power. Kinda scary to drive with nothing on your dash being lit up, and feeling hopeless because nothing seems to be helping. AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

I don't usually do low star reviews (check my other reviews) but the horrible, horrible service I got on Sunday really warrants one... I had a blow-out on the road (due to a curb check at an.... ahem... accelerated speed) which required a tow because the tire was destroyed and my husband couldn't put on the spare (something about fancy lug nuts for the rim). Anyway, I usually do Discount Tire (who is AWESOME) but because this was Sunday, I have the tow truck take me and the car to Firestone. Mind you, I called in advance to make sure they could fit me in. The guy on the phone misunderstood me about getting there in a half-hour and thought I wanted it fixed in a half-hour and wasted no words in telling me how crazy I was. Ok, I was on a cell on the side of a busy road... I'm sure I wasn't as clear as I could be, and after a few clarifying comments, he said he could "probably fit me in." After we got the car towed to Firestone, the gentleman who I spoke with on the phone refused to make eye contact and helped both customers waiting in the waiting area (checking them out) before he made eye contact or told us that he would be with us in a bit. So the tow truck driver and I made small talk for the 5-10 minutes it took the guy to do everything possible in the lobby except acknowledge us. When he ran out of other things to do we all walked out to my car, and he immediately had five reasons why he could not help me at all. Not with the tires, not with the rims, not with life. So I quickly said "enough" and made the call to drop the car off at Discount Tires. The tow truck driver said (unprovoked) that he'd never seen someone so excited to avoid a sale. The folks at Discount Tire were very happy to fix me up with a set of new tires and new rims for about a grand. I assume that kind of income would have been attractive to Firestone. Made an appointment earlier in the week for an alignment at 0800. I arrived at 0755. Gentleman was nice and greeted me when I entered. I let him know I had an appointment, he found me in the system quickly. Asked for my keys and asked if I was coming back or hanging out. I said I was staying but I was running next door for food. Finished up, came back to wait in the lobby after a quick 35 minute breakfast. Tf? My car is still chillin outside, not even moved. Went in and the same gentleman said "we'll be pulling your car in soon, he's just finishing up an alignment on another car." I said "that's good, I'm taking my car". He got my keys and I left. Now a normal customer service response would have begun from the minute I walked in. He could have said "our tech is running a bit behind and he still has a car on the rack", but he didn't knowing my appointment was in less than 5 minutes. Or, try and keep a customer? Instead of just handing over my keys, ask if there were any options to keep my business? Naaahhhh...that's too personal now a days. Who cares about customer service, there will be another shlub coming in anyways. On November 2021 I was visiting my family in Albuquerque , NM when my car started to give me all kinds of engine lights and suddenly it just stopped, So I called a tow truck to tow my vehicle to the nearest Firestone Complete Auto Care that's why I trusted them to repair my vehicle . I dropped my vehicle on 11/20/2021 and pick it up on 11/21/2021 it was running fine but the very next day my car was having the same symptoms it had before the repairs done at Firestone complex auto Care of which I immediately took my vehicle back to fix the problem . Upon my arrival I spoke with the manager name Estevan of which I told him everything that happened but he replied with a nasty attitude saying all those symptoms mean that my vehicle has something else related with transmission problems and refer me to a friend of his supposedly . I told them why didn't you told me about all of these problems before charging $ 925.70 if the symptoms are the same HE NEVER RESCANNED MY VEHICLE TO LOOK FOR DIFFERENT CODES OR ANYTHING . At this point I already felt scammed , all hotels in town are full , my whole family is in the vehicle ,temperatures freezing thanksgiving is the next day I gotta drive home to( California ) no shop has available service due to the holiday my only choice was to trade in my vehicle and buy another one because it had all these mechanical problems that I paid to be fixed at Firestone Complete Auto Care but they didn't fix none . I stopped in early am on Saturday 10/23/21 to order a set of tires for my truck and schedule installation and alignment. They got the tires in and dropped off my truck at 2:15 pm. At 5:15 pm they called and said my truck was ready. On my way home, I noticed that the alignment was not completed. I salled back to the store and talked to the service manager on duty, he stated that it was not done and the front shocks were also recommended to be replaced.... My time is very limited except on weekends, very irritated I stated that I will bring it in the morning to complete the work that should have been done. A few minutes later the manager called and informed me that they could not take care of my alignment in the am because they were booked!! WTH?? I had an appointment and Firestone neglected to complete the requested work, now I have to return at thier convenience? I will have Power Ford complete this at my next oil change. They do not respect the appointment time -- I made an appointment for 10am and was told that the car will be ready in 1-2 hours when I arrive. When I checked on it at 11:30am, the man working at the front desk told me that my car is still in the queue and the wait is another 1-1.5 hours. I told him that I had an appointment and was told when making the appointment that it would be done by 12. He told me in a rude manner that they don't ever take appointment and only do walk-ins. I was extremely disappointed in my last two visits to the "Kachina" Firestone Auto Shop located at 7401 Paseo Del Norte, Albuquerque, NM 87113. I went there on Monday, 9 May 2022 to have my 2012 Toyota RAV-4 tires rotated, balanced and aligned and to have my brakes checked. The manager, Mr. Jose Tovar, said that I did need to have new front brakes installed, which I agreed to have done. When I picked up my car the afternoon of 9 May, it seemed to be making more noise than usual on the drive home. The next day, I started to drive to my local grocery store but the noise seemed so unusual and loud that instead, I drove the car right back to Firestone and explained that it was much louder when driving over every bump and crack in the road than I remembered. I asked Mr. Tovar to please have a mechanic take another look at it to be sure everything was alright. Mr. Tovar called me back a short while later to say that the noise might be my tail pipe and that it might be loose and recommended that I take it to a muffler shop for inspection. He said that after his mechanic performed an inspection and some cleaning, the one thing they found was that the shocks were leaking fluid and that I would need to replace both the shocks and the struts. This came as a complete surprise (and an additional $1500 I wasn't expecting to spend) but I approved the repair. Mr. Tovar said that the struts were not going to be available until Friday, 13 May and he asked if I could leave my car with him for the rest of the week until everything was in stock. Fortunately, I am able to telework from home when necessary, so I was able to let him keep my car in the shop an additional four days. On Friday, 13 May, I picked up my car in the morning and drove it home. It STILL seemed to be making an absurd amount of noise and I wondered if I had forgotten how loud it can be to drive my car or if something was still wrong. I drove the car around town running errands on Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th as well as back to work on the highway (I-25) on Monday the 16th. The noise persisted. After work, I took my car to the Route 66 muffler shop to see if the tail pipe was indeed to blame for the added noise. The manager, Jim, put my car up on the auto lift and both he and his colleague did a thorough inspection of my entire exhaust system. They found nothing wrong and indicated that they did hear an unusual sound when bouncing my car but said it had nothing to do with my muffler or tail pipe. Since Firestone could find nothing wrong, I decided to take my car to the Larry Miller Toyota repair shop to see if they could detect a problem. I explained the recent work done at Firestone and the noise I was hearing. They signed my car in for an inspection and I went home. Two hours later, the service advisor, Mr. Isaac Moya, called me to say that they immediately heard the noise when they drove my car into the repair bay and that the technician found that my front brake calipers had not been tightened and that they were so loose he was able to turn them by hand. He said that this was a major safety violation and that they had to fix it for me (rather than taking it back to Firestone) so that I wouldn't have an accident. I paid Toyota $344.12 to fix something that the Firestone technicians should have found over the course of five days. Firestone let me drive away twice (9 May and 13 May) with this problem and did not find it. Toyota found it within a couple of hours. I was shocked and upset to learn that my newly installed brakes were the issue and that I could have had a serious accident because of this. It unnerves me to know that I gave Firestone multiple opportunities and time to find this problem and instead, they 'discovered' that I needed new shocks and struts. Now I wonder if that was even necessary or just a convenient excuse for a Firestone up-charge? I took my Toyota repair receipt back to the Firestone store immediately after picking up my car from the Toyota dealership. I explained to Mr. Tovar what the problem had been and showed him my receipt. I asked him politely to reimburse me for an expense I should not have had to pay at the Toyota repair shop. He agreed, made a copy of my repair receipt and told me that the Firestone Corporate office normally cuts checks on Fridays. He said that it would take approximately 10 days to receive a refund and that I should have something by 31 May. I visited Mr. Tovar on Wednesday, 1 June to inquire about the expected refund. He said it had been processed on 26 May but that he was unable to print or email me any sort of confirmation. It surprises me that no one has reached out to me regarding this incident. I ensured that Mr. Tovar had my name, address, phone number and email before I left on May 16th. This whole incident indicates to me that Firestone does not have a workforce of qualified auto mechanics and that they do not take customer safety seriously. read more

When I got the service 2 years ago, I would have given a good review. During the service, they asked if I wanted to have the rear brakes done as well that day. They said the rear brakes were almost gone. I said I'd do it another time. Today, I picked up my truck from another shop. One of the things I asked them to do was the rear brakes since it had been 2 years,. Surely they needed to be done by now. Well they told me there was still 50% left on them and I don't need to do them yet. So Firestone's assessment was BS. After I post comment on Yelp, Firestone customer service contacted me regarding unsatisfactory experience with service. Email I send to the customer service with problem was forwarded to the general manager in charge of the area. He promptly contacted me and provided me with the solution, in this case replace the engine cover panel, to my case. After I send him email of my purchase receipt, he instructed Firestone employee to contact me for refund which happened soon after send him email of the receipt. The refund was applied to my credit card within few days of call. I was pleasantly surprised by General Manager's prompt action after Yelp post and personally handling the issue to satisfy customer's grievance. My original one star was given not at their service to my car but to their handling of broken part. This update is what I would have given based on the service if they handled the issue as General Manager did in first place. This is one store where General Manager of Firestone units that actually listen and handles issue personally. read more

I scheduled an appointment in the morning for an oil change at the location on Paseo del Norte for 4:30 p.m. I checked my email before I left work and had not received a reply, but the website told me that I should assume the appointment was okay unless they told me it wasn't. Upon arrival 15 minutes before my appointment I was told by the clerk that they did not have my appointment and that they couldn't take my car today because they close at 5:00 p.m. (note - the website says they close at 6:00 p.m.) Based on the speed of electrons, I think both things the clerk told me were lies. I purchased my tires with Firestone because they seemed to have the best price, so when it was time for a tire rotation, I decided to go back to Firestone. They have an online scheduling system that apparently no one actually monitors. I received an email 24 hours prior stating it was pending. I went to the store the next day at the time I requested and was told I did not have an appointment, and that they could not help me out. They only have one technician....So much for customer service. Don't have an online service if you aren't going to use it or if you don't have the employees then don't offer the times. I am now scheduled and confirmed, immediately, with Discount Tire down the road. They will get all our future business, even if it costs a little more. read more

UPDATE: One would think if you make an appointment for an oil change that they would be ready to start the job when you drop your car off. With this being an older vehicle, you cannot use the regular meter on it to check it. I called around and Lexus wanted $116.00 . Another shop was $79.00. There price here was $23.00. I was having issues with my car and I've taken it to Firestone before so I felt comfortable taking it again. This is one of the worst experiences I've had. I was notified that I had to have missions on my car so I took it in and it did not pass it had been running poorly and the check engine light was on so I took my car Firestone on Tuesday morning and the expected pick up time was that evening but they called and said they had not completely finished it so I was picking it up Wednesday morning I went and picked it up and drove it not even as far as the corner and the car was doing the exact same thing that it was when I took it in so I turned around and took it back. Once again on Wednesday they called me and said it was all finished so I was happy with that and I went back to pick it up and went to have lunch by the time I got home my check engine light was on and it started doing what it was doing before I have to go all the way back to the Firestone on Paseo Del Norte and Wyoming to be fixed again after the first again. Mind you every time I had to go in and pick up my car or drop it off I had to find somebody to take me because my roommates just happened to be out of town so the most Dependable people I knew to help me and who were not at work lived way on the Westside and I live up in the Foothills so yes it was more than inconvenient. Thursday morning I went again and picked up the car it seemed to be running fine so I drove it all the way down to Broadway and Mountain to have the emissions and once again it did not pass so back again I go to the mechanic. This time they said they were going to have the Master Mechanic look at it but unfortunately he didn't come into work until the next day which was Friday. So once again I had to have somebody follow me and bring me back home. About 3 hours later they called again and said that my car was finished in that they were not going to charge anything additional. My first estimate was $460 by the time I went to pick up my car it was $632 when I was on the phone with Ted he said that I would not be charged anything additional but when I was in the store finishing up the paperwork Ted who I had been working with says quote my manager wants me to ask if you would be willing to pay for the gas and for the emissions we had on your car mind you I was told there was not going to be any additional charges so I said sure I'll be happy to pay if you are willing to reimburse me for the money I've paid people to bring me back and forth. He said no that's fine and I was very happy with that. Since I've gotten my car out I've not had any problems there will be an occasional odd feeling when I'm driving but it's not anything close to what it was when I took it in. On the night of the full moon we drove in to placitas for drumming and my car was acting a little odd so when I got to our destination I checked the oil because it smelled hot and lo and behold I had no oil in my car my car had never burned any oil and maybe once in the four years that I've had it I've had to put oil in it yes I've gone every 3 months and had my oil changed but I've never personally had to put any oil in until I got my car out of the mechanics. So very long story short is that I will never take my car back to that particular Firestone very hard to find a mechanic and last time I dealt with them it was not as bad as it was this time if I have any suggestions for anyone I would suggest you take it to another mechanic because these ones seem to just put anyone working on your car and nothing was completely fixed until the quote-unquote master mechanics looked at it and if it takes them four days and several times me picking it up and dropping it back off before the Master Mechanic will look at it that's ridiculous so like I said I would never be taking my car back to that Firestone hopefully I will not have to take it back to the mechanics but if I do I know there are other firestone's here in town and I will try one of the other sites but as for this Firestone I'm not happy at all with the service I received I will never return. read more

Huang assessed the tires and said I had about 10k left in the survivors and one had a nail in an unrepairable spot. Ok four new ones it is. They had a 4 for 3 deal on Bridgestones. They were a bit late with estimated completion time but he made that right. Checked the alignment which was still good. Also left the one good tire in trunk in a clean bag as requested. My daughter was driving across the country on Saturday. On Wednesday I took her car there because the check engine light was on. They checked it out and said it was a wire they fixed it. On Friday they did more work including new tires and an alignment. When we picked up the car Friday afternoon the check engine light was on. I told them of the problem and was told it was not on the work order. I explained that was why I cam and spoke to a different guy. They did not talk to each other. I told them this was the reason I came in the first place. He said he could run diagnostics which would cost $180. I said fine and then went home. When I got home he called and said he could not do it that day. So I went on Wednesday with a check engine light on. I spent nearly $500 and still have a check engine light on. I have had good experiences with them in the past, but this was not a good experience. I will look elsewhere for car service. On Wednesday I had them replace a running light bulb. It cost $60. On Friday when I went back to have new tires put on the light was out. They said it was a loose wire. Wouldn't you have checked to make sure it was working? UPDATE: my daughter is on her trip and the tire light comes on. It won't reset and the manual says the TPS system has to be recalibrated with new tires. You would think they would know how to do that. Apparently not. I lowered from 2 stars to 1 star. read more

So a couple of days ago, I went to Thai spice which is right next door to firestone. There was no parking whatsoever but there were a few spots available at Firestone. I know it's not polite to park at a business that your not going into, so I had an idea. I could have my tires rotated while I eat! Genius! I parked and went in. I went to the front desk and explained that I have some wear on the outside of my front tires so I'd like to have the tires rotated. The tech came outside to take a look. He suggested a free alignment check because the type of wear was indicative of the tires facing too far inward from the bottom up. I didn't realize that a bad alignment doesn't always mean that the steering will pull to one side or the other. Sometimes it's how the wheels set. Anyway- I agreed to the free check and ate. When I returned, they showed me the results of the check and boy, my wheels were totally off! They corrected the issue (pretty quick) and showed me the new alignment check after they made the adjustments. I drove home and when I pulled in the driveway, I noticed that the alignment fixed another issue that I didn't even realize was caused by the alignment. Every time I would make a sharp turn, the wheel would rub against the stabilizer bar but not anymore! The sales people and tech guys are real genuine peeps. Always really nice and very helpful and I never feel like I'm being pressured into services. read more

We're from Carlsbad and we were in town just for the weekend. Right before we were about to head back we noticed an oil leak. We came in 1/2 hour before closing on Saturday night and Robert Byatt was friendly and looked at out vehicle and put an oil plug back in that came loose at no charge.
