Took my wife's car there for two new front tires and today on 2009 Nissan sentra after one year I took the car to the Nissan dealer for an oil change and tire rotation and they pointed out to us that the new tires were put in but they set them in 1 in front and 1 in back so now the new tires are uneven that is such BS who does that kind of butcher work . This place is great! Took my car to get new tires they matched sears and they promised me that my car would be done at a certain time and they finished earlier! But the best thing is they were honest to me and told me hey we didn't change this but you might want to change this sensor but next time you change tires change your sensors. A lot of other places would have pushed me on doing that work right away. read more

My experience at this Firestone was that it is filthy, no pride in their work at all, compared to the Firestone in Des Plaines on Mannheim/Lee. Not sure if franchised or company store, which might be a reason. read more

My tire pressure warning light went on. I went to this location as it was just nearby. I didn't have time to check the tires for damage as I had to be at a nearby job site soon. A tall, bald gentleman checked my air and filled my tires outside in - 10 wind chill, finding my right front tire was significantly low on air, which I will have checked later. I had another alignment done on another car (after rebuilding the steering and suspension) and the work seems to be fine. I would work with them again for alignment. I can't say I am completely satisfied but satisfaction in automotive repair is hard to come by. I was told when I called there was one on the rack but when I got there they said there were 4 in front of me. I showed up the next day when they opened and got right in. They do not take appointments. It's first come, first served. Although I mentioned I wanted a quote on some other work and they did not seem interested in quoting me. I think they are capable of simple, standard work like tires, brakes and alignment. I don't think I would have them do anything that requires analysis, troubleshooting or judgment. It's okay because I know other good shops and may just do it myself anyway, but winter in Chicago is a tough time to perform service in an unheated garage. read more

I had a very positive experience with this location. It was my first visit and I needed new tires put on. They didn't carry the ones I wanted but ordered them, had them delivered and installed all on the same day. There was some confusion on my part but the manager, Chris was very polite and patient in explaining things to me. Great service. read more

Was only there for 10 minutes and I was treated so well! Gordon was professional and respectful. I am a frequent Firestone customer at the location in Buffalo Grove, IL. I needed to stop on my commute home from work because I was scared I had a flat. Gordon filled my tire, provided me with information, and made me feel confident in a scary moment that I would get home okay. Also would not accept a cash tip (I only had a few bucks on me, but I wanted to thank him for the service). He demanded I keep the money and sent me off hoping I got home safe. I've never used another Firestone besides the one in my hometown but I'm now confident they're all as amazing as I would expect! Thank you Firestone! read more

I use this shop solely to install my tirerack tires which they have done so 3 times for my cars. I don't have a problem with the guys that work there, they're helpful and nice but its mostly Firestone itself that draws the bad on my review. Firestone is just expensive labor book rates and tires, even with paying the shipping and installation ($90 for 4 tires) it was still cheaper to get comparable tires via tirerack than getting through FS + sales tax + installation. Just on a whim I asked them to quote me for a brake job, knowing my rear brakes were done 2 years ago they were fine. I was quoted for an alignment and brake job (including rear brakes) was just shy of $1000. The guy was super cool and said that they had various coupons that would bring that price down and even mentioned using the Firestone card for an additional discount, he didn't need to do that so I'll give them a little extra credit in that regard. I'll usually do brakes myself or if I don't have the time I will go to Ernies at Foster and Nagle, great service not the cheapest but still cheaper than FS. I will say I was irate this time that I used FS in that they never contacted me when my tires came in, I called tirerack and they told me they got the tires the week before. They were supposed to call me when the tires came in and they didn't. The person I talked to on the phone at FS gave me some half-assed answer that they don't call the people because they don't get the information. This is incorrect they do get the information via fax and they have to sign for the tires that come in which dont go there for free they go there for a customer. read more

My husband went in here to get his back brakes replaced. After a few weeks the back brakes started squeaking. He had a 1 year warranty so he went back here to tell them they were squeaking. The first time, they told him that it was the front brakes that were squeaking, not the back. A couple months later, he brought his car into a different repair shop for a different issue. Those mechanics told him that his back breaks were squeaking and he should go back to Firestone and tell them. He then came back for a second time, and they told him that again no, it was his front brakes, and they wouldn't do anything. Since this was all suspect, he took his car back to repair place #2 to look at the front brakes. They said no, it is still the back breaks that are the issue, and asked why he hadn't resolved it with Firestone. He then went back for a THIRD time, when they said again that no, it was the front brakes that were squeaking and would not do anything. He then took his car to the Firestone in Schaumburg, where shockingly they told him that yes - his back brakes were squeaking! And that they felt it was poor work done by this Firestone location. They fixed them at no cost, which was the appropriate action. I'd avoid this location if you have a brake issue that you want resolved completely the first time. read more

I came in on a Sunday after work at 230 to get a tire and Larry told me it was too late for him to get a tire on my wife's car because they were too busy. I saw the hours of operation and they close at 5. So I reminded him of the time and he said he knew what time it was and if his staff took on my wife's car they would be working past 6 pm. Sounds like a load of crap to me. I went to Pep Boys in Skokie and was welcomed with open arms. On another day I scheduled my truck for a tire rotation. I go in a little early for my rotation thinking they would be happy I was early and got to wait over an hour past my appointment time. I spoke to the guy at the counter this time Chris and he has no customer service what so ever. My questions were laughed at like I made no sense and didn't feel like my business was wanted. I come here because it's super close to my house and for the warranty I have on the tires for my truck. Not because of price. If you want my opinion FIRESTONE is a bit pricey compared to its competitors. I waited exactly 2 hours for a rotation. So incompetent! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I scheduled an appointment for 11 am on November 15 with Larry and was told it would take 1.5 hours to put on the 4 new tires. When I arrived at 10:30 am that day, I was told they did not have an appointment scheduled until 3pm. After they realized it was their mistake, they told me it would be ready by 1pm. While waiting I was told there was an issue with my lug nuts and they were going to have to charge me over $100 in addition to the tire charge, installation, and labor. I gave the ok, because without it they would refuse service on my vehicle. After 1pm, I called again to find out how much longer and they said the vehicle had on 2 tires and the other 2 still needed to be added on, then said it would be ready by 2:30pm. I arrived to pick up my vehicle at 3pm and STILL my vehicle was not ready. I spoke with Chris this time and he told me there were 2 tires on and they needed to add the other 2. The EXACT same information told to me prior. He then admitted that there was a lack of communication amongst the employees and told me the vehicle would be ready by 4pm. This is unacceptable! I was told a certain price and given a certain time frame. What is the point of having an appointment if the employees are going to completely disregard it? This is the worst service that has ever been rendered to me, and I can assure you Firestone has lost me as a customer! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Called yesterday at 4:00 and asked if my tires could be checked as the indicator light was on, also wanted my tires rotated. I spoke with Larry and he said they were pretty backed up, so I said that I would call when I got out of work and was closer to the shop, thinking they would know better then if they could get the tires done that day. I called at 5:00 and spoke with Larry again. They were still backed up and we agreed that I bring my car and leave it overnight so that he could take care of it first thing in the morning. I explained I needed it done by 9:00 a.m. and he assured me that would happened. Dropped the car off at 10:00 pm. When I got to the shop at 8:54 a.m. today (6/29), my car had not even been moved into a garage stall. Again, Larry. I was told that the car wasn't worked on yet. I asked him what happened to getting it done by 9:00 am? and was he the same Larry that I spoke with yesterday? He said yes he was, but that he forgot what we talked about as far as getting it done early. No problem, Larry. I wrote it all down on the envelope that held my key - didn't he see it? Larry replied no, but they could work on it now, that's all they could do. I replied no thank you. Took my keys and car and left. Because my tires were bought at Firestone with a warranty, I wanted to find another Firestone site to take advantage of the warranty I paid for, which I did. The Firestone site on Wabash and 16th street in Chicago, was courteous, factual and prompt. I received a call when my car was finished, had a discussion about what will need to be done, authorized it and was assured that my car will be done by 3:00 pm. Good to know it's not Firestone, rather just the one location on Milwaukee that is terrible. read more

My repairs were great and I felt we were on the same page as far as repair and safety goals for my SUV. I highly recommend getting repairs done here. Service was excellent. I came in for an oil change and was told it would be 90 minutes to 2 hours wait. I said that was fine. After 4 hours they took in another car for an oil change that came in 90 minutes after me. When I complained I was told "sorry you're next". It should take 4.5 hours for an oil change. I bring my cars here for all of their service needs but I think I'll be finding someplace else. *** DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES *** I brought my vehicle in to replace a flat. Additionally they recommended for me to replace the adjacent tire (which I did). Finally an oil change was in order as a final recommendation... Done! I said approving for the work to be done. additionally I noted that my vehicle had been leaking oil since I brought it in to them a month or so prior... Wasn't bad, just noticeable enough for me to want it checked out. Upon service "completion" The tech called up after he completes the oil change to let me know that everything looked good, and to just keep an eye on the oil level and add oil as needed. I noted to him that I immediately noticed (while pulling in the parking lot) the oil was leaking drastically and asked why it had gotten worse and if it was safe to drive the van like that. He advised me that it was not critical and advised me to go find a universal oil plug that would resolve the leak. Additionally, he would also be willing to wait for me to get back because it was near closing time at 7pm. Nice guy I thought. When i came back from the autopart store... At 7:03pm... He had locked up, turned off all the lights and was no where to be found. Unbelievable. They proceeded in doing my oil change and knowingly released the vehicle to me with the massive leak saying to just add more oil as the level goes down. Unacceptable! Without knowledge of where I had to go the vehicle, the extent of my use of the vehicle, they intentionally sent me on a dry run (pun intended) to get a plug, just to fall short 3 minutes of them abruptly closing shop leaving the situation unresolved that is to be considered a major vehicular operating/ saftey issue. Would he have done this to someone that is a close friend/family member... That is, letting them drive off in a vehicle under such condition? Probably not. In an attempt to support their local franchise, I was left unprotected by this same organization. The one place that i had solely entrusted for my "complete auto care needs." what happened to quality? Saftey standards? And most importantly best business practices that any reputable company has built its foundation on? As a fair warning to others whom are fortunate enough to have been able to read this review of the Firestone autocare located in the chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood on Milwauke Avenue. Make sure that if any discrepancies occur you DO NOT SIGN OFF ON ANY WORK ORDER OR ACKNOWLEDGMENT. I later realized in midst of all this chaos that they cleverly noted the inccident to legally protect them from any fault related to the incident. Letting a customer drive away with a vehicle in that condition is absolutely unexcusable, and bad business practice. Later that evening all the oil leaked completely out into the street. Although they tried to resolve this when i escalated the issue... I am still amazed why they would put any patron of their business in that predicament to begin with. I intend on filing a formal complaint with the BBB, Firestone's corporate headquarters, and continue to hope that this location's management team take a closer look at ethics training for their crew, and perhaps even amongst themselves as a reflection of how their workers are representing their franchise and the corporate trademark in its totality. read more
