When I first went to this place in 2010, I intended to establish them for long term maintenance for my car. The first experience was mediocre at best, but the staff seemed reasonably friendly. The second experience severed all ties. I went in for a standard oil change and was quoted a price that was agreeable. The staff stated that my car would be taken in next since the shop was slow. It took about 90 minutes which was a bit long, but not a huge deal. When I got in my car, there were oil/grease covered thumb prints everywhere. Apparently, the person who brought the car in or out forgot or didn't care to wash their hands. I approached the front staff about this and was told, "that stuff happens." I argued to have them clean it but they were disinterested in listening further. As such, I took my business elsewhere. read more

This is place is terrible. Here's why. I went here to have my oil changed to and to get my transmission fluid changed. It took them 1 1/2 hours! There was no one else in line! Not to mention that they never have me an ETA to begin with. That may have calmed me down a bit. But then they wanted to hit me with some BS saying that I needed to get my battery changed. I immediately said "no" because of the already long wait time. Plus they tried to quote me for $200 for just the battery alone and an extra $20 to clean my old battery. Something didn't seem right. So, I called AAA the next day and had them come out to take a look at it. They cleaned off my battery, tested it, and it was perfectly fine. I knew this because I had not had any start up issues, just some corrosion on the battery. This truly leads me to believe that they have a SHIT battery sitting in the back that they test to try to get you to get a new battery. Scam shit. I went in for a simple replacement of battery terminals left it for a day. The next day I picked it up when I called them they did not call me. I checked the finished work but they did nothing except hammer pins in between the clamps of the battery to tighten them. After I showed the manager nothing was done , he alas he did not know who out the pins in assuming it was me! He refunded my money and did the work for free which took only 15 minutes and not a day! I came here to get my front brakes done and my front rotors machined per my 60k mile check up at Nissan...I had every intention of making this place my usual place to go to but they sure nipped that in the bud. 1. I sat there for 6.5 hrs with my 3.5 yo son for a job they promised would be done in 2 hours. 2. They offered a free brake inspection which I declined b/c I had just had it done at Nissan...they did it anyway and left the inside of my car with oily fingerprints, and said that when they opened my drums on the back, that magically a whole bunch of pins fell out (which cost $50 to replace). 3. When they finally gave me my car back, I drive to the stop sign and had a very hard time stopping. Pushing the petal felt spongy, so turned right around when I pulled back up, my E-brake didn't work!!! It literally came straight up with barely a touch!! Turns out they 'forgot to re-pressure/adjust my brakes' are you friggin kidding me?? I had my son with me!!!! 4. A few days later, the brakes started making a 'nails on a chalkboard' sound and it also sounded like our cv boot was torn. Took it to Nissan to get checked and turns out that not only had the axle been knocked out of the hub, but the rotors hadn't been machined!!!! Why did I sit there for 6.5 hours???? 5. Went back to Firestone to show them the paperwork from Nissan stating these things and they proceed to look me in my face and ask, 'ok, sooo do you want us to do it now?' I told them no, you didn't do it the first time!!!! and that wanted a friggin refund. They didn't even fight it???!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

Just a rip off! They fucked up my car by telling me to change my car's oil with high mileage oil change with an extra $10 on a 90k... Due to oil's thin quality, my engine burned out the oil in two months and I have been driving my car in very low levels which if I haven't checked my engine oil frequently, would have seized my engine! I have been using firestone and tires plus ( same company) for the past 12 years both in Florida and in Maryland. My experience in Florida was great! Reasonable prices, honest quotes, quality work. When I moved to Maryland I continued using them here. Different group of guys but the quality of service was still great. Will definitely continue using. read more

Stay away from this place! Long story short... Took my car to fix the A/C, spent around $1,200 and my A/C is still not working properly. They advised me to take it to another dealership because they aren't able to figure out the root of the problem. Yet I'm $1,200 short. SCAM! Went for a simple tire repair - got the "by the way" we found something and was quoted $600. They had the audacity to take me back to the garage to point out "the problem" - their problem is that I know more than the average person about cars and the "leaking brake caliper" they tried to point out had no visible leak whatsoever. This was my first time at Firestone Complete Auto Care and my experience could not have been better. I had something puncture a tire on a Saturday night and it looked like I would have to wait util Wednesday to get the replacement tire delivered. I decided to call Firestone Complete Auto Care on Sunday morning because they carry Bridgestone tired, even though the tire I have is hard to find. I spoke with Sergio who told me that had 4 of the tires I needed in stock and could probably put in on that day. So, I put on my spare tire and drove to Firestone Complete Auto Care about 40 minutes later. Sergio was extremely helpful, professional and knowledgeable, and handle the service ticket quickly. I waited in their waiting room which had extremely comfortable chairs. They replace 2 tires on my car in just about an hour and a half. Phillip was the technician and I also found him to be very courteous and professional. The work was done perfectly, without an appointment, on a Sunday morning. This was one of the best experiences I have had and I will definitely recommend Firestone Complete Auto Care. read more

Be aware of this location, they will still your money for nothing, ask for full synthetic oil and they put a conventional one, they think people are stupid. If you ask them just to check something they will tell you they will do it for free but when they come back they tell a deferent story to pay extra money for nothing. I ask them to add the transmission fluid and said they will do it for free, talk to the mechanic if his manager told him so he told me they tell him anything and they don't have that kind of the fluid, so when I talk to the manager he told me that you have flush all the fluid and put the new one, I just change all the fluid and it's brand news just want to add a little. Wow, I am glad I did not read the reviews before going because then I probably wouldn't have gone. I am surprised that there are so many negative reviews. I saw a coupon for a synthetic blend oil change. I usually change the oil myself, but it being the winter time, I have been lazy. Called in at 9am, spoke to Jeff and he was very friendly sounding. Got an appointment the same day. It took 30 minutes for the oil change during my lunch break. I brought my laptop to do work thinking it would take an hour or more (most other places do unless it is an over-priced "quick oil" place). Overall I am happy, it was a great price and the 4-5 people that were picking up or dropping off their cars seemed please with the service too. Also, what prompted me to actually write a review was because while I was waiting, the person at the front desk was calling customer's to let them know their car was ready or the problems that they found. I took my daughters car in for service this last Saturday which consist of about $800 worth of work,took the car back home Saturday evening and Sunday morning the check engine light came back on I called Firestone Sunday morning spoke with the representative by the name of Happy he instructed me to return the car on Tuesday so the mechanic who did the work can look over the car again return the car on Tuesday the mechanic was unavailable so I had to bring the car back on Wednesday and don't forget my daughter is driving the car took the car there on Wednesday got a phone call from them saying that the car doesn't go over 25 mph when I spoke with them they recommended some other services which was about another $400 got the work done got another phone call from them saying that something else was wrong with the car which Consist of another $800 went there this morning to pick up the car and guess what the car don't drive currently getting the car towed to the junkyard because after $2000 worth of work the car don't drive I really feel in my heart that they damage the car which they will will not own up to so beware upon going to this place I've also been a customer with them for the past 14 years since I've been living in Columbia I am never had a problem with them until now I'm a very dis-satisfied customer. Keep in mind we drove the car there. The manager & customer service rep and techs there are Horrible. If you decide to go only trust Jean with your car, he's great. read more

OK - up front, I'm more a fan of the independents, assuming you can find an honest one (I have, but not sure I can share that in this review). That said, I went here because they had a great deal on tires for my truck (buy three, get one free) and I've got a couple more semesters to pay for my son's education so I needed to save some $'s on tires for my truck before the winter. I made an appointment and showed up bright and early on Saturday morning. Whoops, they had the appointment but their "system" didn't make sure they had the tires. Hmmm, maybe all these awful reviews are right? Well, no thankfully. They ordered the tires and promised to call me back, which they did! I went back and they started on the job within minutes, apologizing for the delay. The work got done quickly, looked good and clean, and they didn't try to sell me unneeded "extras". Great job! While waiting, I observed the interactions with other customers and didn't hear anything that would be of concern regarding their honesty or indicating excessive hard selling. The costs are competitive with other chains and probably cheaper than dealers, but that doesn't mean cheap. Face it, car repairs are expensive - that's why you want to be treated straight up on it. I'd say, if you can't do it yourself (I can do most maintenance and many repairs and save a LOT in labor costs) and don't personally know a good independent mechanic shop or know someone who can recommend one, then a place like this can provide good repair and maintenance service, and you can take advantage of their special offers to keep your maintenance costs down. I don't know know what these other reviewers experienced, but frankly I'm wondering a bit about their knowledge and expectations. I'll cut them some slack, this stuff can be really complicated and no one likes to hear "that will cost $800" for something they don't understand, and some maybe did run into a bad situation, but I don't think it's the norm here.. read more

REALLY IMPRESSED! My car started making weird noises, and I knew I needed to get it repaired. After speaking with a few friends, the Firestone in Columbia was recommended to me. I called into the store, and Audrey answered the phone. She was really pleasant and set up an appointment time for me the following day. Upon arrival, I was greeted promptly by Audrey, and she was quick to get the process started and discussed all my options. She was very knowledgable about what was going to happen, what could be fixed, what needed to be fixed, and the various specials going on. I do not feel like she was trying to scam me or overcharge me, which was a new experience for me. In general, all the entire staff was extremely helpful and were quick to help each other out. Brandon and Daryl (sp?) also answered a few questions when Audrey was not available and they were able to explain things in simple terms soI could understand what was going on with my car. The staff is definitely a strong functioning team. During my wait, the store had coffee and water available, and a TV showing the news. The staff also told me about the different food options and things to do around the area in case I wanted to kill sometime outside of the shop. When I got my car back (in a timely manner i might add) everything was fixed, and all the noises were gone. I would recommend this place to anyone. I brought my car in on a Wednesday to get my battery changed and the found that my belt tensioner needed to be changed. Got them to order the part and brought the car back in on Friday night to complete the work on Saturday. They not only did the work on the belt tensioner but they found a bolt that was missing to my air conditioning and replaced it. Thank you Sergio, James and Daniel for making my car quiet again. As far as car repair places go, this one is pretty standard. Although, I've had to fight with the service repairman twice recently to get things done. I'm pretty upset that this store transferred one of their better managers to another location in October; the new one that is always there doesn't seem to have integrity. They lied to me about the type of oil I needed in my car, they tried to lie about needing to have my rotators replaced, and who knows what else. I had a quote from a dealership and they wanted to tell me I needed more than a dealership did? I'd find another location of Firestone. This type of behavior just started in October from this store!! I was surprised to see such a low rating to this place. My overall experience at this place has been great. I have been at Firestone previously for oil change and I returned again this past weekend (12/27/2014) to get my car battery changed. They were able to take me in without appointment and the service took under hour and has free Wii-fi. Also, the price was much cheaper than what they quoted me over the phone; which is a win win! :) So far, I have dealt with Sergio and Jeff and both were nice. I wish I could give this place 4 1/2 star....I knocked off half because I thought the waiting area is a bit on a "dirty" side for my taste. read more

I brought my 2005 Impala here on 6/6/14 due to a leaking fuel pressure regulator at 8:30 AM. Sergey did an excellent job communicating with me as to the status of my vehicle, and he always asked me before installing additional parts or providing other services. They did not try to upsell or perform any services I did not ask for or did not need. My car was fixed by the end of the day on the 6th. While the price I paid was a little high: about $700 (including labor) for a new pressure regulator, new spark plugs, new plug wires and a complete fuel system cleaning, the work was done properly and in a timely manner. Don't bother taking your care here! They can only do minor things, and will forget to do other things you ask for, becasue they NEVER have the part. I brought my car here becasue the engine light was on, was charged $100 and told they can't do anything about it. The brakes I bought a couple of months ago squeak, they say it is fine, but I don't trust the. I have brought my car here for oil changes on many occasion because it is within walking disctance of my house. Each time I bring it, I ask them to replace the wiper blades. NEVER have they done this simple thing becasue they have either forgotten - their words, or don't have the part. I will sacrific convienece for trustworthiness and competence. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. January 2014. It's taken me awhile to write this review bc I get annoyed whenever I think about it. It'd been a really long day (funeral of family member about 2 hours away) but it was still early evening. I needed my brake light replaced, so I decided to make a quick stop at Firestone. Long story short... they broke the clear cover that goes over the tail light. It took 3 additional visits to get it replaced. 1. they called and I made the trip over (in a friggin snow storm) and they couldn't find the part. 2. they called (I went back) and said they had the part, but ordered the left and needed the right. 3. they called and I went back over AGAIN and had the nerve to ask me to come back bc the guy who broke it was off, and they wanted the person who broke it to fix it. REALLY? I promptly told they TO GET IT DONE. Not only was I inconvenienced 4 TIMES, but I still had to pay for the service. I WILL NEVER go back to that location. I've been to locations in Baltimore and Baltimore City and never had a problem. read more

I ordered tires and had them delivered on Thursday. I made an appointment for Saturday at 12 to have them installed. I dropped off my wife's car and was told it would take two hours. After about four hours I called and was told it would be another 15 minutes. So after four hours and fifteen minutes instead of the two hours with an appointment I was able to pick up my wife's car. Friendly customer service rep but what is the point of making an appointment and have them tell you it would only take two hours when they know it will be a lot longer. read more

This is a tough review to write. First, I have to say that customer service rep and manager were great. If I was just rating them, I would give them five stars. However, I am not just rating them. On April 3, 2015, I brought my 2007 Toyota Camry in for new tires. I also purchased a lifetime of front end alignments for the car. The other thing I asked for was a check of all my brakes. When they finished, I was told my brakes were all very good...80% and no problems. When I left, the first thing that happened, three blocks from Firestone was that one of my hubcaps fell off. That doesn't speak well for whoever put my tires on. The major problem is that one month later (and less than 700 miles driven) I heard a metal on metal sound when applying my brakes. I took my car back to Firestone and they said my rear brakes were shot...needed new calipers, rotors and shoes...close to $900. How could my brakes have been "diagnosed" correctly a month earlier when I was told they were fine and now they were totally shot??? If I could give zero stars to whoever did the diagnosis, I would. The manager reduced my bill by $200 and I thank him for that. Now I have a lifetime warranty on my brakes from Firestone and a lifetime purchase of front end alignments. I will have to go back for any warranty work...but now have zero faith in this location's ability to diagnose problems correctly. read more

They fit me into their schedule on short notice, had my car ready earlier than expected, and alerted me to other necessary maintenance without being pushy. They went above and beyond the service I paid for. I've taken 3 cars and a truck here for oil changes. Service is usually very quick, but can be lengthy on Fridays and weekends - plan ahead! I have never been oversold, and if you keep an eye open, you'll find special deals for oil changes - be it the coupon on the back of Giant Food receipts, or rarely "off the street" deals. No matter what you pay, the service is top notch. Staff is professional and polite. I won't take my cars anywhere else for an oil change - $23.40 (taxes and fees included). Where else can you get that price? Where else can you find staff like this? I will continue to use them. Period. read more

My wife recently had a flat tire at the Columbia Mall on a recent late Saturday afternoon, with few options of assistance due to typical store closing hours of 5:00 pm. I was able to get in contact with this Firestone location, who agreed to remain available after their normal store closing time of 6:00 pm to either repair or change her tire (after the replacement "donut" was put on at the Columbia mall). She was able to get to the Firestone location just at their closing time and Jeff was able to assist her with a tire replacement (due to the severe damage to the existing tire) and get her on the road back to our home 70 mile away. Caveat emptor. This place does not even deserve one star. I brought my car in for a Maryland inspection. My car failed and I was told I needed over $1300 worth of work done to pass. I said thanks but no thanks and went for a second opinion. Thank goodness I did because I brought my car to another garage, where the repairs cost me a whopping $75... $150, including the inspection. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me. I even paid for another inspection to avoid going back. Cheat me once, shame on you... cheat me twice, shame on me. read more

I'd highly recommend this Firestone -- not sure correct way to spell Sean's (Shawn?) name, but he has excellent customer service skills -- spoke to him several times and he was always pleasant, patient and took time to explain everything to me (more than once). Scheduled the appointment, dropped the car off and they had it ready within the 2 hours that was promised! Sean also advised about another issue they found with the car -- he could have took me for a ride, but he was honest and didn't lie/say that the repair absolutely had to be made that day. I went in to get a replacement battery for my wife's 2006 Cadillac DTS. First, the person tells me they have a battery and they can do it in an hour. After about 20 minutes, they guy comes and tells me he made a mistake and they do not have the battery. I'm pretty angry because I had to get a jump to get the car there. Before I leave another guy tells me they can get a battery there within an hour if I can wait. I wait and they do replace the battery. When I first got there I reminded them that the battery is located inside the car under the back seat and because of this, there is a vacuum tube that takes the batter gases out of the interior of the car and they should make sure the reconnect it. However, when the car is finished I leave and decide to stop and check to see if they reconnected the vacuum tube. they had NOT done it. I was really angry because this could have put my wife in jeopardy driving around with these noxious, combustible gases floating around the cabin of the car. This was not the first time I had been there, but I will NOT return and I will NOT recommend this shop to anyone. NO! read more

I was very happy to get my tires from this shop. I was going to get an alignment because I had some shaking in my steering wheel. Serviceman Sergery assured me that It was not an alignment problem, but a tire balancing problem. Which I thought was very honest of him.
