My emergency brake light kept turning on while I was driving, and a few friends of mine took a look under the hood and told me that I should get my brake fluid flushed. I went on Yelp and found this place with all these great reviews, so I called to make an appointment and explain my situation, and then headed over there a few hours later. When I got there, the guy I spoke to was friendly, and I explained my situation again and dropped off my keys. He said it would be ready in about 4-5 hours, so I hitched a ride with a friend to hang out in Glendale Galleria while I waited. During the next few hours, I received about 4 calls from Firestone. At some point, I was told I was going to have to leave my car there overnight for someone to take a look at it tomorrow. Then about half an hour later, I was told it would take 4-5 hours again, then at some point I received another call saying that it was being worked on and I had to pick it up before they closed in 30 minutes, so I said I would try to be there in 15 minutes. They also explained that I should change all 4 of my tires since they've already removed my tires so it would be best to do it now, but I said I would discuss it in person. 15 minutes later when I was close to arriving, I got another call asking me to come ASAP before they closed and I told them I was about 1 minute away. When I arrived, he said they just conducted a general brake inspection and found nothing wrong -- they just topped off my brake fluid. They also explained that my tires were worn and that I should definitely replace them as they mentioned before. When I asked how much it would cost, they said it would be over $800. I declined at the time so I could discuss it with my friends (they all ended up saying it was way overpriced) and I just paid my $50 for the inspection and went on my way. Now, the reason I'm leaving this review about a month after it happened is that I just went to a different mechanic this weekend since I needed an oil change, and because my brake light problem NEVER WENT AWAY (literally the second I drove off from Firestone, the light lit up again). This mechanic didn't have time to do a brake fluid flush, but he told me he topped it off for the time being, and behold -- the brake light indicator disappeared! He also took a look at my tires and said they're perfectly fine and didn't recommend changing them yet. So at the end of the day, I just wasted an entire afternoon and $50 to have the same exact problem I came in with, and a recommendation to replace all my tires even though they were fine. I'm still giving 2 stars because the guy I interacted with was friendly enough, but this was by no means a good experience. read more

My a/c quit working almost a year ago but I couldn't get it fixed until a few weeks ago. I went the the Firestone because they answered their phone. I arrived the next morning at 7am. They say the repair could take up to 4 hours. It turned out the a/c fell apart so the Freon drained out. New hose and fresh Freon plus an oil change. A quick test drive and my car was ready for the summer. It took exactly 4 hours so I still had my Saturday. And the final price for everything was under $600. Thanks, guys!! read more

I love coming into this location. I have the best experience every time. The staff & service advisors are probably the nicest group of people you will meet when servicing your car. I was in DTLA this past weekend and got a flat. I want to say that DTLA is the worst possible place to experience car trouble. I called my roadside assistance, and in the process of putting on my spare, two lug nuts broke off. As confident as the tow man sounded that it would be ok for me to drive home, complete a few more deliveries, before heading to the shop the following morning to replace a tire; Firestone assured me that driving on two lug nuts on a spare was the most dangerous thing I could have done. Well, now I know. Thankfully, I was fine but my tire, hubcap, lug nuts were not. I came in for a new tire but saw their October specials for a $10 inspection, $19.99 oil change, & lifetime warranty on brakes. To top it off, I also needed new windshield wipers. They also happened to be on sale. Buy one get one free. While, I was there I asked for these services to be done. I never felt pressured, ripped off, or taken advantage of. That's HUGE in my book. My local mechanic had me thinking I needed over $1200 worth of work done on my P.O.S. I saved over $400 and have a lifetime warranty on my breaks, a new tire, and reliable windshield wipers. My service advisors name was Vic. He was great! He answered all my questions, called keeping me updated, and explained everything in detail. The service here is phenomenal and thats why I've been coming here for over 5 years. If you're looking for a place to get your car looked into, estimates, etc, I'd consider coming in to this location. read more

I called to get a quote for my car to change the spark plugs he gave me a quote saying I have 12 spark plugs which goes for $20 each so with labor it's a total of $638 and if the wires need to be changed out it'll be just $200 extra. Labor is $400!? Told the boyfriend but he still went over there with thE car since he was already on his way there. He spoke to the same salesman but he gave him a different rate. I have brought my 2016 Chevrolet Volt and 2015 Lancer Evo X here. Both times exceeded my expectations! Both times recommended what is actually needed (Evo X needs new tires), and what is not needed (Volt doesn't need rotation because fronts was still new. Volt was a recent used car purchase). My go to place for car services now, because of their honesty, and respected both of my cars. Also the lifetime wheel alignment is a no brainer too! They also use Pennzoil which is a very good engine oil. Look at Blackstone labs to know what's really going into your engine. At about 4:30pm on a Sunday, I noticed that my rear passenger-side tire was almost completely flat. I called Firestone and they said that I could bring it in, but they closed at 6:00 and were pretty backed up, so they could only check the tire pressure and help me put on my spare tire, if needed. I got there at 5:00 and once the tire was removed, it was clear it couldn't be patched, and I'd need a new one. Instead of putting on the spare tire and having me return the next time I was able (two days later), they offered to go into overtime by replacing the tire altogether! I was so grateful! They were extremely kind and helpful. Especially Vic. He is always so lovely when I come in for oil changes and (apparently) last-minute tire emergencies. read more

She wasn't trying to get over on me by selling something that wasn't necessary or expensive. Appreciate that. I forgot her name but she was great! The service was about three hours. But Firestone has a good setup we're they'll cover your rotation for the life of the vehicle too. I thought it was a good deal actually. Your car always needs it done on an annual basis. Worst place ever. Turn around go somewhere else. Customer service was poor, the way they test your car is poor, I would suggest going to another Firestone, or another mechanic all together. The whole experience all together just to get brakes and tires checked was 2.5 hours. I had them check my car for my brakes because it was squealing like crazy, and vibrating and I knew it was pretty much time for new brakes, as my past inspections had indicated. When they tested the car they would punch the gas really hard (you can see the car launch forward) and then they would slam on the brakes. To me, that is crazy and is that really how you check brakes? After "inspection" they left my car sitting in the bay for a good half hour, no technician working or checking the brakes. Even though I was there first, customers that came after me had already had their cars finished and left. The final verdict after 2.5 hours? My brakes were completely fine, and did not need replacement at all, and the tires? The tires were still new according to them and didn't need replacement. Took it to America's Tire, and according to them upon visual inspection my tires hardly had any traction left. Furthermore, after a week of driving my car, my brakes started grinding, so I took it to the dealer, and guess what? My brakes were metal on metal with 4mm left on the brakes. They were pretty much gone. Overall, avoid this place, save your time your money your energy, go to a dealer or other mechanic. read more

I had a slow puncture on my tire so went in to get a repair but unfortunately they couldn't complete the repair as the screw was too close to the side of the tire, luckily the tire was about 75% gone anyway so I got a price to change it. I think I got a pretty good price and had to wait for it to be delivered but they fitted it and everything back to normal good service and very helpful people at the place. read more

This is my second review on this place because I decided to give them another try. First time I came in was to get an alignment done and they didn't want to do it because I have lifetime alignment they didn't want to honor it. Now I come in for a simple oil change that I usually do myself. I wanted to give them another chance to redeem themselves and they were a disappointment. At the end of the oil change, they forgot to recap my oil cap and now I have to drive around with No oil cap. I found out when i notice that the car engine was running a lot louder then usual. Have to go buy a new oil cap and hopefully one day have the time to go back and get a reimbursement for newly purchased cap. read more
