Slimey is the first word that comes to mind. I called them to ask what a flat tire repair costs. I explained my situation & the desk man said oh that's free, just drop it off. So I drop it off, they fix it [ it was a real easy fix]. I go to pick it up & he asks me for $21. I was surprised, what is this a bait & switch operation ? I paid it but this was a switcheroo & I got screwed. It's bad enough that there's all these scumbags out there but when an established biz resorts to this kind of malarkey it's a sad day. read more

Went there this morning for an alignment ( I paid for lifetime alignment) told me he wouldn't do it even though I paid for it.

You can save yourself a $5.60 "shop charge" if your bring your own rag to lend to the technician while doing a wheel alignment.

A few days after the snow storm that CT had I accidentally ran over a snow bank I didn't think anything of it unto I brought my puppies to the vet I thought my wheel felt funny. I brought my car to Firestone for them to check it. They where so nice and helpful. They also let my bring my puppies into the sitting area well I waited. I only waited a few mins ( which I thought I would wait longer being they were about to close ). I broke my axle and the the tech there ( Nate ) was willing to stay there after closing to make sure my car got done and made sure my car was safe ....I was also excited that my bill was " low priced it's free to get your car checked. 4 tires=4 hours. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars instead of lower is because I have looooowwww expectations when it comes to firestone to begin with. Growing up I avoided them like the plague based on stories like below. But lately I have have found their prices to be just as good as the internet. For example the firestone winter tires for my jeep I got today were $84 from tirerack.com, $90 from firestone (so with no shipping firestone is cheaper and more convenient). But I needed to get a quote from firestone.com to get this price, instore they wanted $96 per tire...there was some promotion they didn't know about. So the downside I've found is speed. The guy at the front desk was nice but overwhelmed and said "two hours". His eyes said longer but I had my laptop and the courage to walk across the highway entrances and exits to the mall from this firestone to chill at pinera and later do some shopping. If the wait is shorter one can chill at unos and get a seat overlooking the parking lot so you can see if they are pulling in your car yet. But I was socked when 3.5 hours later they called!! Crazy but I happened to be in no hurry. Then when I returned of course it's a long ordeal waiting for them to check you out so there you have it an even 4 hours. They said they were slammed with thanksgiving being tomorrow. But in this large, busy location there appeared to be 4 guys working...so why not beef up on staff to provide better service...they have the space. Oh well...maybe that's why the tires were so cheap! ps-I would never get ANYTHING besides tire installation and maybe an alignment done here. Use Yelp to find a reputable mechanic! read more

I was going to give them 2 stars, but decided to go with the majority and stick them with 1 star instead. The guy behind the counter was nice enough, but I have to say they pissed me off and their customer service sucks overall. I feel like they should've expressed to me that there would be over a 90 minute wait to patch my tire, which I expected would take 30 minutes including wait time. All this for them to come and tell me they couldn't fix the tire after all, and I'd need a new tire! Hey, it's not even the tire that I'm mad at. It's an inanimate object. I am irritated that their communication skills are so poor. I had to cancel a job that I was supposed to be at because of their negligence. Overall, a frustrating experience. I will take my business elsewhere next time. Actually this time also. I demanded my keys and drove my own damn car to another Firestone location, which I should've gone to at the start of this debacle. read more

Make sure you get a second opinion by a mechanic you trust if this place recommends any repair. Firestone said I needed over $2000 worth of suspension and ball joint work which turned out not to be true. I question now if I even needed new tires. read more

A few years ago I purchased a new car. I brought my old car to Firestone and asked them if they could help me take off my liscence plate as I needed to put on my new car (which was literally held on by 2 bolts, I just didn't have the tool at home and no one at home to help me.) One of the Fire Stone associates said he could do it but would charge me $20. I just thought that was the poorest service in the entire world, so much that I still think about it to this day. What really upset me was I use to get my oil changed there all the time and they couldn't do a little favor for me. Every time Firestone is brought up in a conversation, I tell people not to go there and I hope people listen to me. read more

Have been coming to this Firestone for the past few years with all kinds of problems with my cars, and never had an issue. I went there today to find out that the guy who always helped me (Matt) is no longer there. Some three fingered clown tried to help me, but obviously this had to be his first day. He couldn't find me in their system (even though I have been there probably 8-10 times in the last 2 years) and he had the audacity to question if my memory was correct and he questioned if I was at the same store. In fact, everyone in the waiting room was a little annoyed with this guy. Not sure what they were thinking in moving Matt (who I never had one single issue with) but I doubt I will return to this Firestone, let alone ANY Firestone, again. read more

I needed a new automotive battery and they were very helpful. I was treated with very good customer service.

I came into this Firestone location on a Saturday after 3 pm due to a slow leak in my rear tire in the passenger side. They were very busy, they were already working on 6 cars. The guy at the desk explained to me that they were very busy and they could at least check my tire pressure. I told him that I already knew my tire pressure was low as I had been checking it, so I knew it needed to be patched or perhaps I would need a new tire. He said that if I bare with him due to the volume of work they had, he can take care of it for me, I said thank you no problem, and took a seat expecting to wait over an hour or so. Within 15 minutes, maybe even less, he came out and said I needed a new tire due to a side wall split. He gave me two price options, and said he would get that put on for me. About a half hour later, maybe sooner, he came out and I was all set. I would say the whole ordeal took me an hour tops. I am thankful they were able to take care of my tire issue despite the volume of work they had, and in the quickest, most efficient amount of time. During my time waiting I must say that at least two customers came in after me and they expected to have everything dropped for them and their issue taken care of right away even though these guys already had a ton of work to do, and they were not very pleasant. The guy there handled it very nicely and professionally, and was apologetic. A little note to the two bitchy women, being nasty to someone you need work done from gets you nowhere. Also, your car problems aren't more important than everyone else's. Anyways, thanks guys, I will be back! read more

Seems new and improved! I stopped coming here a year or more ago because of incomplete service, and some questionable experiences. This weekend I picked up a nail in my tire and decided to bring it in for repair, because I have their tire warranty. All new faces and the experience was as expected - reasonable wait, quick service, and good attention to detail. They even found a road hazard in another tire while rotating tires. I may adjust this. There is 1 very friendly man running all 3 Advisor stations in the lobby and answering phones. Yes, he's doing a fantastic job but regardless of how well he is, this creates a wait for customers and is a mistake waiting to happen. You lose two stars for improper staffing. read more

I went in for brake job and was told it would take 2 hours, 7 hours later my truck was finished. I understand you run into problems and it takes a little longer, BUT 7 hours. I even asked then if there were problems and all I got was just another hour, a little while longer,etc. I hate to use the term lyers, but I can't think of anything else. Good point is the brakes work but are starting to make noise now. read more

Let me start by saying that I had previously had good experiences with the Firestone in Brookfield CT. Unfortunately things changed when I changed jobs and had to deal with the Firestone in Milford, CT. It started fine but it was only for oil changes. Then we went for one of the free changeovers from snow tires back to the regular tires but they never gave us back the snow tires which were only one season old! They gave us someone else's tires that weren't even snows! After calling and going back there to complain, I was interrogated by several "managers" before we finally got a new set of snows. This was a sign! stupid me kept going back. My wife brought her van back to have the snow tires put back on for winter and also complained about an odor of burning oil and they told my wife the oil pan and gasket needed to be replaced and quoted a price of $389.99 and $180.00 for labor. I couldn't afford this so I went to my brother-in-law who knows this stuff and he offered to help me instead. When he removed the plug to drain the oil he showed me that the plug had been stripped and they had just coated it with some sort of epoxy. What a bunch of incompetent crooks!!!!! But the story isn't over yet! Not wanting to go back to this terrible Firestone, I took the van to the Firestone in Stratford, CT in May to have the tires changed back to the regular ones and they told us they were already on the car and the tires in bags we had brought were the snow tires. What the F@#$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does it ever end?!?! My wife went ballistic!!! Not at the people in Stratford, they were just the messengers, but at the incompetent lying crooks in Milford!!!! We left there and in less than 5 minutes one of the "managers" from Milford called with all kinds of apologies and told us he would mail us a $50 certificate and a coupon for a free oil change. Guess what? it's been 3 weeks and we never received it!!!! My wife called on it and "manager Bob" said it was a misunderstanding. Screw you Bob!!!!!!!!!!! If any of you read these reviews and you're still thinking about going there, DON'T, go to Stratford instead. They are honest and so far have done right by us. read more

My experience with Firestone has always been a positive one .Their prices are comparable to other car repair stations. On a positive note, even when I bring my car in for an oil change, they will go through a inspection of the entire vehicle and make recommendations for preventive maintenance. The auto technicians are quite knowledgeable with many different car manufactures not just one. I recently had dealings with two of the customer service techs. On both occasions I felt that I was treated fairly. Even when stated that I did not want to spend a lot of money on a repair because of the age of the car and the amount of miles the tech informed me of a coupon available to me and an estimate that he stuck to. Hats off to both Shawn and Ryan. I was totally satisfied with the job that was done but more importantly they both made me feel that I could trust in them and that I would be a return customer. I recently had work done to my car at Firestone of Milford,CT & paid a ridicuolously high amount. I had brake work done on my car which resulted in a $1200 bill! I felt I needed to get the word out to others to stay away from this place. Unless you don't mind getting ripped off, Firestone of Milford is a place to steer clear of. I used one of their coupons to get a savings of $25. Well, they deducted the $25 coupon in the itemization of the work & supplies area of the invoice but at the bottom of the invoice they went right ahead & added the $25 back for themselves & noted it as "shop supplies". When I confronted the service manager about what these "shop supplies" were, he went on to say that these items consisted of rags, cleaners & etc. Would have been nice if they had offered me the option of bringing my own rags & cleaners for them to use if it meant me saving the extra $25. I certainly would have been willing to do that. Instead they just went right ahead & added it in & also justified it by saying that the higher one's repair bill is, the more they charge for "shop supplies". Totally unfair because the least they can do is give some breaks to people who are stuck having to pay more. Stay away from Firestone of Milford. I certainly won't be bringing my car back there & this is coming from somebody that was a long time & repeat customer. They finally got too greedy for their own good. read more
