I've been going to this shop for about twenty years. They are always honest about whether or not your car needs repair and/or servicing. I have bought numerous sets of tires from them and they do a lot of basic maintenance for me too. They have never tried up-sell me unnecessary items. The work has always been excellent. I stopped by today. I just drove my car into the bay, a polite and very helpful young man checked all the air in my tires (at no cost), replaced the caps (at no cost) so I wouldn't have metal tipped ones that might get rusty and explained why the low air light was going on in my car. I don't bother going anywhere else when I need tires or service. Always a competitive prices with Costco etc., and the same manager has been there for years. read more

dont waste your time. They charged me 700.00 and my car broke down 2 days later. They had it towed and axel towing in sugar grove did damage and now they wont stand behind their work or the tow. The district manage is now involved and is being a bigger tool then the lying manager of that firestone. read more

My girlfriend brought her vehicle in to fix a tire with a very small nail in it and they told her that she needed a new tire. She gave them a ok just to get it fixed. Small nail in the middle of the tread should be able to be repaired. read more

Right after I'm checked in, an older gentleman walks in for his appointment and ismael handles him COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Polite, courteous, humorous . REALLY!??? Absolutely terrible. When I say it took them a week to patch a tire, IT TOOK A WEEK TO PATCH A TIRE. No exaggeration. I came in with a flat 3 times and each time they told me it was fixed. Drove off only to discover an hour later still wasn't fixed. Finally on the 7th day they told me I had a hole in the sidewall and the whole tire needed to be replaced. So I bought a new tire only to be back the next day because they did not install the kit correctly. Avoid at all cost. read more

Terrible place. I just had oil change and tire rotation on my tire. Then they broke my wheel cap and doesn't seems to care to fix it.

I actually had a decent experience when I bought my tires from them as the other two posters said. But my last experience was horrible! There is also new management. Anyway... I went in to get an oil change and a vehicle inspection. My car is getting ready to hit 125000 miles so I wanted to have a PROFESSIONAL look it over. There was no squeaking, leaking, etc. I just wanted to be reassured that all was ok as I approached 125K. I was told that I needed to brake work done and it would be $390 for everything. Since it had been a while, I ok'ed it. I left to let them work and got a call saying they didn't add the cost of pads... they were adding $50 for pads. Ok fine, whatever. I work in the automotive parts industry and thought that was rather wacky that they wouldn't include pads in the first estimate. I was also told that my pads were at 6 so why are they taking everything apart anyway?? (I think its because I'm a single girl living in the affluent suburb of Naperville.) Anyway, I get a call about 15 mins later saying that there was a HUGE problem and I needed to get over there right away. Well, they claimed my brake fluid was leaking but what was on the caliper looked nothing like brake fluid (more like the oil they just drained!) and the guy wouldn't let me touch the "substance" in question. I am fairly sure that the mechanic broke my caliper. They wanted to charge me $900 to put my car back together again so I could go home. I said no, you're putting my car together and I'm leaving. I authorized $390, NOT $900! He said he was not able to put my car back together without new parts! I demanded to see the manager and had a fit in front of a full reception area lol. He told me that he would eat the labor cost and charge me $660. AND he wanted me to apply for their credit! (I do not use credit. I pay cash for everything.) I left it at that. After about 15 mins, I got an apologetic call from the guy saying his manager authorized that they could put my car back together again and all I'd have to pay for was the oil change and (worthless) inspection. I got out of there paying $50. The final document I received after paying for my bill states that "You are entitled to a price estimate for the repairs you have authorized. The repair price may be less than the estimate, but will not exceed the estimate by more than 10% or $15 whichever is less without your consent." After looking over my paperwork, I noted that the only estimate I authorized was for the $50! SO, $50 vs $900! That's MUCH more than 10%! No wonder the manager caved so fast! Oh lol, they wanted me to come back the next day and have the manager EXPLAIN to me what the problem was since I didn't trust the guy who was working. Don't talk down to me! read more

I used their website to order a battery change for my car. I was quoted $135 and was instructed to schedule for an appointment and bring the quote to Firestone. At the store, the service advisor said everything looked fine, but the install fee should be $86.40 instead of the $14.95. Since I have taken time off work, I decide to get it done. However, 40 minutes into it, I was told that my car had a bigger battery. So, now the total came up to be $306.44. I have never used this place before, but I do not believe I will go back. read more

Went for service and was told my flat was not repairable and I needed a new tire. Tires were not that old and I felt their reason was not satisfactory. They do not repair tires you repaired in emergency situations. So the plug I used to get home after a road hazard punctured the tire forbid them from servicing the tire. Went to Costco where I now buy all my tires and they confirmed my initial thought, the tire was repairable. This set of tires was not from Costco but they took care of me due to my truck tire purchase a year ago. Before you buy anywhere buy a membership to Costco and go there. Free rotations and free flat repair is well worth the cost plus you get a ton of perks. read more

I've been taking my Buick here for about 3 years. I am a young professional woman. I have been treated with nothing but respect by the gentlemen who work here. I was surprised by some of the reviews because if there was even a hint of inappropriateness to myself or another female customer I would have left. In contrast to other reviews I have been treated extremely well. They are always honest with me and they do what they can to help me with the cost since my car is high maintenance. They also always manage to get my car back to me the day of if its possible depending on parts. I have taken my car to other places that are less than honest with me about what needs to be done. I will continue to bring my car here until it doesn't run anymore. read more

We went into the Firestone center with the appointment that was scheduled for Sunday. This is the second time we were at the store. It was for a routine oil change and a head to toe inspection of our 2003 Buick Regal. At first the sales guy behind the desk seemed professional, nice. She told the sales guy what she wanted done: Oil change and a head to toe inspection of the vehicle. So far, we were quoted $50. They had called us to the back after an hour to look at the car on the hoist, and we were told about the sway bars being broken (which they were). We didn't have the money to fix them from the last time we were in the store. There's no safety issue with sway bars. We were told by the mechanic that the brakes were at 60% material, which there was still plenty on there and everything else looked ok. If we were to replace the front brake pads, it would be $390. She opted to do so, and wanted everything to be ok with the brakes. We went out to eat, since this brake job would take about an hour. We were called on the cell phone and the sales rep told us that we would have to come back and take a look at the car and we wouldn't like what we were about to see. He told us that there was brake fluid leading from the front calipers. I was perplexed, because there was no fluid on the driveway and we've never had to replace any of the brake fluid in the history of the car. All I could see was dark smudges on the calipers and the calipers were torn apart. After telling the sales guy that something seems fishy here and that the head to toe inspection didn't uncover any problems and problems were found later? She told him to put the car back together, after he told us that the new bid would be $900. She kept telling him she doesn't have $900. The sales rep said that he couldn't put together the brakes because there would be a safety issue. I told the sales rep about ripoffreport.com and the better business bureau. He's familiar with those sites. I told him that my dad was a manager of a gas station and that he fired a mechanic for poking a radiator hose with a screwdriver. Either our calipers had an oil or fluid smudge placed on there by a mechanic, or the calipers were broken by an incompetent mechanic and the sales rep was trying to cover up for them. I screamed at the sales rep, demanding to speak to the manager. He told me that the manager had the day off. I kept insisting to speak to the manager. We stormed out of there and went back outside. I yelled on the way out, "This is the last time we come to this place" We had gotten a call 20 min later from the sales rep. We went back to the store. He told us that the managing partner said to put the car back together and charge us only $50 for the oil change and inspection. Its amazing the capacity for car care dealers to have the intent to cheat people. I'm glad that we reached an agreement, before we had to sue. I swore if they didn't let us out of there for less than $900 or $650 like they tried to negotiate down, we would have been in small claims court! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO FIRESTONE at Gartner in Naperville. They are a bunch of crooks! read more

Beware of this shop. Went in about 3 months ago to have a slowly leaking right front tire repaired. They also rotated the tires since they are Firestone tires and rotation is free. Apparently a nail was causing the leak but the guy helping me said it wasnt noted on the paperwork. I thought this was a bit odd but didnt ask to see the nail. Upon leaving the shop my left front tire looked low but I thought it might just be the angle of the car. The next day I noticed that the front left tire was indeed low so I took it back to the shop. They said it was just a little low on air and they filled it and sent me on my way. But the same tire kept losing air and I had to keep refilling. I should have taken it back right away but life got busy. Fast forward to today, after my car sat for two days, the tire is so flat I cant even drive it to a gas station to fill it. Will have to get it towed or try putting on the spare tire (even possible after the shop used a power tool to tighten the lugnuts?) Called the shop because it seems like the nail may have been left in the tire and was rotated to a new spot! Was told theres no way one of their mechanics would do that. However, I certainly dont plan to go to this Firestone again. read more
