So these guys, oh boy. They are really everything you don't want in a company. The manager checked us in which was fine but he started our day by complaining that he was short staffed in the front. That should have been a red flag and we should have left but, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. From there it just got worse. They committed to having the car done in two hours, it's 3.5 hours later and the manager has yelled, criticized me as a human, he attempted to upsell and add hundreds of dollars worth of crap that was unnecessary. This was my first and last experience at this shop, or any other firestone location and I'm filling a better business complaint about their ridiculous and unethical practices. I think the most annoying this is the mechanics are cool, down to earth so maybe just dumping the front management staff would solve it? read more

Big shout out to Tyler and Cesar!! I went in yesterday to get a tire replaced (slow leak) I had ordered a replacement( Michelin Energy saver) and while they took care of that tire they found my front passenger tire completely coming apart,All the tread was gone on the inside and metal exposed. They got the job done fast even with the added surprise of my second tire. Poor guys were short staffed but they still gave great customer service with a smile! read more

Then they switched to Firestone and I thought it had new ownership and seeing as it's close to home I went in again. Big mistake, same management and same sneaky tactics. Saturday 18 December 5 30 PM I pulled into this fire stone with a flat tire. I had run over a nail. The manager came out with a "magic tool"and said we cannot legally or morally repair the tire. But we're happy to sell you two new tires for $400. 1. It was 30 minutes till closing time, I needed to drive 60 miles to my home in San Diego, the Saturday before Christmas, and I was in no mental or financial position to spend $400 on an unplanned tire purchase. 2. I used to work at a gas station when I was a kid. And I repaired hundreds of tires back in the day. These tires are not new, but they are definitely not unsafe. 3. I drive a very little car, with "bicycle tires" on it . I should be able to put three or four tires on this car for $400. 4. I offered to put a deposit down on a set of cheaper tires that he said he had to order, if he would just repair this tire so I could go home. He refused. I drove a mile and a half down the street, found a no-name tire shop. They repaired my tire in under 10 minutes for $20 and told me that I have at least another 5000 miles on my tires before they would need to be replaced. I have been a salesman all my life. I know every trick in the book to get a customer to spend money they don't have, immediately, and pay a premium to do it. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars in the last 30 years at Firestone's all over this country. But after this experience, I will never use firestone again. This guy trying to take advantage of me, assuming I would just throw credit card down and give him an easy sale should never happen to anyone again. This was absolutely the worst example I have ever seen of using a made-up corporate policy, taking advantage of a customer in need, and refusing to offer a reasonable service, while expecting a large overpriced sale just to get the customer out of a jam. I highly recommend you stay away from this particular fire stone location. read more

This tire stop is simply amazing! They helped us tremendously! First they were the only tire shop open on a Sunday which is amazing!! They made sure they care of us since it was an emergency situation. They even stayed open late because our car couldn't be towed until after closing time! That really made me as a customer extra special. I wasn't just another paycheck to them! They really cared about me and my family! I would recommend this location 100 percent!! One, this place needs more people working at the front. Every time you go in phones ringing off the hook and you sit there for about 15 minutes just trying to get your car checked in or out. Two, Al Garcia is ridiculous. Never been charged for an inspection fee in all my life when I chose to get work done for the problem I had with my car for what I showed up for. Well this place is thee exception, I was charged not only for a diagnostic inspection, but a secondary inspection as well. And we asked for a military discount, he said your getting "love" already. I assumed that meant discount, didn't say anything. Checked the receipt no discounts no anything. During a time when they were giving 100$ off 500$. I got 0$ off and no military discount. I paid almost 600$+ for the work when it was all said and done. read more

My husband took our car in to get new tires because the tread was getting very low. After getting the car back, we both noticed that the car would violently shake once getting to 50 MPH (never had any issues before). Now firestone is telling us the rim is bent and it is going to cost $400 to fix the problem (that did not exist before them getting ahold of the car) after already paying $700+ for the new tires. This is not the first time an issue has appeared after getting our car serviced here. Do NOT recommend unless you want some kind of damage to your car that will cost even more money to fox. read more

Brought my car in here for a routine oil change since I have the lifetime alignment thing I thought I would get it done at the same time. They told me I needed an air filter replaced so I did and they listed many other things I should replace as well since they checked my whole car out but I know how these places can be when you come in for an oil change they'll do anything for more work on your car. Thankfully the next week I was getting new wheels and tires because when they balanced, rotated my tires and did my alignment they put the bolts on wrong putting them in the wrong places for the wrong wheels. So not only did I walk out that day with a $100 bill when I just came in for an oil change they cost me labor and bolts because they screwed it up. I called to speak to a manager and they told me they would write down my name and have them call me but still waiting on a call from the 7th. Don't come here. read more

This is my first, and last, experience with this shop. I made an appointment and talked with a manager about the likely failure of the head gasket (the car burns oil and misfires, and Prius are prone to head gasket failure at this mileage). He said that the right person would be working on Saturday, so I brought my car. The manager on duty (a different person) told me that they only have 1 technician with the ability to diagnose a problem (are you kidding?) and he was on vacation for a week. Since I was there already, I had them do the $10 complete inspection. The manager called and proposed $1300 worth of work, including $1100 to replace a few gaskets that are seeping oil. Oh, and my new air filter was "dirty" and needed replacing. As this would be pointless before fixing the underlying issue, I had them just replace the rear brake shoes (the other $200 of suggested work). When I asked about the note on the inspection checklist that my serpentine belt was "no longer performing its intended purpose," he said that is was based on mileage. What, the belt could not have been replaced already? When I asked what the technician had found when he inspected the belt, the manager had no idea (no note on the report) and offered to go get the technician. I declined, realizing that I was not likely to hear anything that I could trust. I had hoped to find a place in Oceanside that could take care of my car, as I prefer to patronize businesses in the town where I live, but I will have to keep looking. read more

So, after a couple months, while doing a road trip, the valve stem extensions that Firestone installed were leaking. I took the problem to the local Firestone dealer, who would not help me, and treated me very rudely. I went a couple blocks away, to a Big O Tires with the same equipment and bays, who did the simple repair for FREE! Firestone tires make good products, but their customer service is the WORST! I will NEVER, EVER go there again. Let my bad experience be your lesson, choose a different tire company. I have had good experiences with Les Schwab and BiG O tires... First and foremost, AVOID THIS PLACE and take your hard earned money somewheres else. This place is an absolute joke. Took both of my vehicles here to get serviced quickly for an oil change. Both vehicles worked smoothly before entering their shop, but came both couldn't even make it home without having to return to their shop for guidance and help. Long story short, they completely took advance of us and got over $1000 out of my husband and I in 5 days. Not worth it. Also, Al is known around Oceanside and everyone we've asked has said not so great things about him or the Firestone in OSide. They love to take advantage of people.
