I am a little hard of hearing but they made sure to repeat it so I could hear and know what services I was getting and why. The undercover of my car was loose after the oil change. In retrospect, I should have known it was related to the oil change, but instead I waited a while and went to the dealership. Dealership informed me that multiple screws were missing, and this is something that would have been taken off and on during an oil change. I paid the dealership to add the screws back. Valvoline's response for reimbursement: "After review and investigation, we will not be assuming liability on your claim request. This is due to repairs having already been made." There is no way I would have trusted them to take care of it anyway, so lesson learned. read more

This is our review for a transmission fluid change that went completely wrong so it's a review and it's a cautionary note we took our Infinity to this location in Oceanside in a few days after lights came on the dashboard about oil change the engine light came on and the transmission started acting weird we took it to the Nissan / Infiniti dealer and they recommend a new transmission about $9,000 Plus for this particular car I put a claim to Valvoline customer service they say that is normal when changing the transmission fluid due to the viscosity variation it is not recommended to get that done that is what the person on the phone told me and that he was very sorry about the inconvenience so I would suggest sincerely to take your car to the dealer to get any fluids specially transmission this has been a learning experience so I am just sharing information hoping that nobody else gets this issue regardless whether you have a new car and old car or as our car is a 2014 of course we're all adults in we make our own decisions and people will still decide to take vehicles to this company I am just disappointed So those coupons that I got And that other people get might not be such a great deal after all I wish everybody well read more

I come to this location for regular maintenance and never receive any pushy add ons and it never feels like they're trying to hit a sales quota. I came here to see whats wrong with my car and to get it fixed, they said it was the battery and replaced it.. that same day my car broke down AGAIN after they "fixed" it. Went to my old auto shop who said it wasn't the battery at all there were leaks that needed replacement (Valvoline specifically said there were no leaks) my car is now being fixed by the other shop I went to return the battery since that wasn't the issue and they won't refund me now.. after their the ones who said I needed this when I didn't! Wasted my money and now I have to spend more. Im pissed and won't be coming or recommending. Guess they just want to take your money, don't waste your time it's expensive & not worth it! read more

Truly great and friendly staff and positive experience! Just a small faux paux; while my 50 dollar tire roation was in a ultra timely manner, after my oil change, I drove away and my low tire pressure indicator came on within 5 minutes of leaving. Unfortunately, I had to get back to work. I stopped to have my tires checked on the way home, all 4 tires had different psi ranging from 26 - 30. Simple fix! 179 dollars well spent?? 5/5 for the oil change itself. 0/5 for the two guys that charged me to top off my coolant and lied about the reason. I asked them about it, with the corporate website pulled up showing that it clearly states fluid top offs are complimentary. Given I had not been charged for it before and their website says otherwise it seemed like a valid question. Both guys said it's corporate policy. I didn't argue, just said thanks for the explanation and that perhaps I was just lucky all the other times. I called corporate and they said it's not their policy. Franchise locations have about 10% flexibility in what they charge for, coolant is one of them that they can charge for. This was a location specific charge. The convenience of a drive thru oil change is unmatched but when you consider your skid plate coming loose and scraping against the ground while going 70mph on the freeway and needing to zip tie it back on once you realize it's destroyed and the hardware was missing.... Is it really worth the 15 minutes you saved? I was a valvoline customer for years until i got tired of having to ask the technicians to please make sure the skid plate was properly reinstalled only for them to NOT, every single time. I brought my car in for a routine oil change, tire rotation, and air-pressure check. Immediately after leaving, my tire-pressure sensor came on and the rear tire began losing air--an issue I did not have prior to the service. I went back and spoke to the technician who serviced my vehicle. He told me to continue driving so the sensors could "recalibrate." After driving about 40 miles, the tire pressures were reading uneven amounts across all tires, and the rear tire was still losing air. The next morning, I returned and explained the situation again. I was dismissed a second time and told it was just a sensor issue. I insisted they recheck the tires. The technician confirmed the pressures were uneven, then lowered them to 32 in the front and 34 in the back. I had to tell him that the manufacturer-recommended pressure is 34-35 all around. He then added more air--but overinflated two tires to 46 PSI. His attitude made it clear he didn't want to listen, and at that point I didn't feel confident continuing the conversation. I took my car to Discount Tire for a second opinion. They confirmed the tires were overinflated, and they also found that the rear tire's valve stem was damaged--something that clearly occurred during the rotation. Overall, the service was extremely disappointing. The staff showed a lack of training, poor attention to detail, and I felt like I had to guide them through basic procedures. I cannot believe I was in and out of here within 15 minutes. I called my husband right after because he used to work for Valvoline back when he was in high school and l just had to tell him how quickly it went. He said it must be due to having all their processes down pat and multiple employees working together. That must be it as they run a tight operation and l was thrilled to be in and out that quickly. Staff was efficient, friendly, and...speedy! I used to take my van to Honda, never again for oil changes! I will definitely be back. They do offer a military discount of 15% which was helpful. They also replaced my wipers and will rotate tires as well if desired. For the money and the (minimal) time, l am extremely satisfied and will continue to give them my business. They were less than Honda (no surprise there!) and faster...why didn't l do this sooner? Oh, wait, it's because l wasn't sure they'd be able to update the computer to reflect that it had an oil change. Yup, they did that too! This was my first time at a new location for Vavoline and I have never been more disappointed. When we got there all the lanes were full so we expected a little bit of a wait; however, we did NOT expect for an HOUR to pass for us to be serviced. When we got there we got sent to the middle lane, after we got there, it got packed. Soon enough all the cars that got there after us were being serviced, and we had not received any kind of service. Another employee had us move to a new lane, and suddenly the previous lane we were in started moving and everyone there after us were getting serviced. We ended up being the last serviced and all cars that got there before us also left before us. They did not offer any type of discount for the long wait, and they were VERY aware that we had waited that long. Thankfully I had a coupon for 25% but I am unimpressed with the service we received.
