I brought my car there on a Sunday with towing services . I got a estimate , which I thought it was a bit high, so I called other places and got more info on the part and labor prices. Firestone wanted to charge me $80 more for the same part as other places. I then asked the manager why and he said he was going to do more research. I waited almost 4 hours for the estimate and came still much higher than other places. The manager told me that was company policies to charge a minimum for the part . I totally wasted hours on Firestone, I ended up picking up my car and bringing to another place where the price was right, great customer service and my car was done in a couple of hours . So I said I would post again after my son checked out my car for the issues this Firestone reported was wrong with my car. All of the other issues were correct & we fixed most of them, I did end up replacing my rear rotors because they would probably not be able to be resurfaced & when you put on new rotors you should put on new brake pads. So they were correct on their inspection but the reported thickness of my brake pad was wrong (as you can see in the picture) and it was the thing they said was probably most important to do. My son said I probably could've gone a couple more months with those. So I upgraded my rating because the car did have some issues but nothing was critical and they clearly reported my brake pad thickness wrong. They were courteous and I would probably take my car back there for rotation & balance as those services are covered by my tire warranty. read more

I was in town when I heard a strange noise on my car. All auto shops were closed except for Firestone. How could I forget about them since I'm a customer. Luckily they were only a mile away. They took it on and found my muffler was loose. I think I did this and it was out of place. They put it back in the right position and charged me a nominal amount. Carlos was super helpful and got me in right away. Price was right in line with the other oil change spots charge. this is where Firestone shines..customer service. So I take the car home and noticed oil dripping from the car. I call Carlos and Cuyler to discuss and they say come back immediately. Carlos personally checks everything thoroughly and finds that some residual oil was causing the drip. He cleans out the entire area. no more drip, I'm super happy and I've found my go to spot for oil changes. read more

They don't try to upsell you on things that you may or may not need, but not nearly as hard as the thugs and ex-cons that usually work at VIOC. Constant wait to drop off or get your car minimum 15 min bc they only have one person out front. Car repairs are rarely updated and you have to call to find out if your car is ready. Had a dent in my car after dropping it off and they swore it wasn't them despite the fact I left my car in better condition than when I left it. read more

This place gets zero stars!!!! Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The front desk employees are the most disrespectful, selfish, sexist, and uncaring human beings! I had an appointment at 2 o'clock today and by 6 o'clock my car hadn't been even looked at. It was sitting in the exact same place I left it. The front desk employee then stated that my file was completely overlooked and that it would be at least another hour and a half until my car was even looked at and that I would have to come back another day for them to fix the issue. I was just there last weekend for a patch job. They took a look and told me they couldn't fix it and that I needed a new tire, without telling me why. If you're going to ask me to get a brand new tire I need to know why. She went back and found out for me. My tires were pretty low tread (plus I have a 1.5 year old so safety first) so I ended up getting the recommended 4 brand new tires, with all their top warranty packages (lifetime alignment, lifetime rotation, filter change, etc), I spent over a $1000, I had just became their number one customer for the day, right? When I got my car back, my battery was dead. I told them I thought it was because they had the lights on the whole time, and they denied it. Come on! You just had my car for the last 3 hours, it was obviously something you did, just apologize and own up to it don't argue with me. And then when I got home I saw they forgot to put a cap back on one of levels they checked, it was just sitting on my windshield where my wipers are. The kicker is when I got home, after spending all that money, I had to put away my own spare tire. Needless to say, attention to detail and service is lacking here. Service and integrity are a big deal to me. I just took my mom's car to America's Tire Co on Hawthorne for a patch job, and they fixed it for free AND put away the spare, that's service. And if you want to pay less for labor, I just looked up the best prices in Torrance, I think you'll pay about $200 less in labor at Sam's Club, the tire costs at Firestone are actually competitive. Even though I bought all the packaging at Firestone, I think I'll stil go back to America's Tire Co, something about that kind of service really makes me feel taken care of. read more

I've lived in the South Bay since 1995, and drive by this place all the time. I don't typically go here except in emergency situations, but I've never been disappointed with the service or price. They have good deals, are always courteous, and respect my time. While they try to sell all the typical add-ons and extras, it is not a hard-sell and don't question when I ask for things to be removed from the list of repairs. Bottom line is that if you want reliable and friendly service for a very fair price, these folks are great. read more

I took my car here to see how much they would charge to replace my brake light. I honestly know nothing about vehicles. The guy at the front desk came out to look at my car then called another guy over. He was the guy that would be doing the work. They both looked at each other and the guy that would be doing the work said that he would have to go up under the car and go through a special hole inside to replace the light. The guy from the front desk said "oh that's what I thought so it will be $50 just for labor as long as everything goes well." Okay I might not know anything about vehicles but that seemed ridiculous to me. And what might not "go well"? So I said I'd have to wait. I looked up how to change a brake light on a pt cruiser on YouTube and you do not have to go up under the car...just pop out the light casing and pop in a new bulb. I will never go here again. 3-1/2 hours for an oil change.. Set up an appointment for 11, showed up at 10:50 and waited in line for 30 minutes (two people ahead of me). I have a LeasePlan vehicle and they took an hour to approve. So from 11:30-12:30 they couldn't do anything, of course other than call LeasePlan like every other shop does if it's taking a while. When I called at 1p they checked to see if it had been approved yet, which it had been for a half hour. Then I was told it would be done "within the hour". I wasn't happy at that since it had already been two hours since my appointment time. Walked past the shop 20 minutes later and my car still hadn't moved and there were three open bays. My experience at this location has been horrible to say the least. Poor communication with the customer, managers playing the blame game on one another, left my car there overnight because I was told it would be completed by the next day. Next day I show up in the afternoon and my vehicle wasn't even touched and when i talked to the store manager about the status of my car he told me that no one even placed it in the system and the had no record of it. He then told me to come back the next day and all would be well. I showed up the next day and my car still hasn't been serviced basically. I had to complain then they immediately begin to work on my car, ultimately being told that they were unable to fix my issue and I would have to take my car elsewhere. This experience was draining and time consuming and pathetic! No professionalism, poor communication and lack of consideration for the customers time and money! I had used this particular Firestone for the past several years with varying usually expensive results. I had the brakes done front and rear less than three months ago. They always squealed when I put the vehicle in reverse. Recently the brake peddle started going down to the floor. I took the vehicle in at 8am the next day. They informed me the brake cylinder and brake booster needed to be replaced and that the vehicle would be ready by 2pm. Sure enough I got the call the vehicle was ready. I took an uber to get the vehicle and paid the $683 and drove off. The brakes felt worse than when i bought the vehicle in. The mechanic who worked on the vehicle didn't have a clue. I talked to the manager. He didn't believe the me I guess and he test drove it. After a few minutes he came back and they proceeded to bleed the brake line. I would have thought this would have been done as the master cylinder was replaced as well as the brakes. After all of the above the brake still went to the floor. They decided the part installed must be faulty. It is now 3:00 pm and I am still waiting on the new part to arrive and be installed. I informed them when I dropped the vehicle off that needed to be someplace at 3pm. Needless to say here I am AGAIN same problem. I took the vehicle to a different Firestone near me and they have sent it to the original location for the repairs that I am assuming were not done properly either time. Fast forward to 6 days later and I still DO NOT have my vehicle returned to me. I was told it would be ready yesterday but have yet to receive a call. read more

I took my car in for an oil change here because it was right near my house and super convenient. Soon after I dropped it off, they called me to say that there was hardly any oil when they drained the tank. This guy then proceeded to lecture me about how I really shouldn't let the oil get that low, and that I should ask my husband to check it for me every now and then. Excuse me?! My father was a mechanic, buddy - I know how to check my oil. I do my best to brush off his "advice" and go about my day. So they do the oil change and when I'm driving my car later that day, it starts making weird sounds and the gauges are all off. I pull over and check the oil - and it's way over-filled. They put too much oil in the tank. I take it back to them and tell them what happened. They call me later to say that the tank was plugged up so when they went to drain it, they ASSUMED there was just no oil. Seriously? Don't these guys check the dipstick after they do an oil change? There are many words I could use to describe these guys, but I'll just go with the one most relevant: incompetent. read more

So I move here from Michigan where I loved my Firestones. After so many times of bringing in the stupid coupons for an oil change, I just asked, "Hey, why don't you just give me the good price every time?" Agreed. I mean, duh---they were the ones who noticed when my tires were ready to die- (always ask to see the parts!) THEY got all my tire business. Fast forward to Redondo Beach- I've already been here a couple times, "Hey, can you just give me the good oil change price?" Not only is the answer, "No," it's a rude, unsmiling, "No." And he's the manager! Fine, time goes by, they are SO CLOSE! I go back, explain the whole thing to the other manager- DUH- "you'll get all my tire (plus other) business." This guy tells me their best oil change price is $25.00, but they will accept competitor coupons. HEL-LO...did you get that I don't want to mess around with coupons? Some of these places- especially in wealthier areas (think Ann Arbor, Mich, Redondo Beach, etc) don't have to work for their business, they can just be arrogant, cold and rude and the dumb rich people keep going back again and again! This review is based strictly on my experience with a vehicle technician and my bicycle. I have not used Firestone for vehicle maintenance. I stopped by Firestone to get air for my bicycle tire because my home pump was incorrectly reading "high pressure" on one of my tubes. The technicians air hose also got the same "high pressure" reading. He offered to change the valve on my tube, which did not correct the problem. He assumed that the tube was self-sealing and used a pick to open a hole through the self-sealing matter and through the valve stem to inflate my tire. All of this service was offered and delivered for free. My experience with this technician leads me to consider using this shop in the future for vehicle maintenance. This guy was a class act.
