I had been a customer here for the last 15 years. When Tim was the manager, I had complete confidence in their work and customer service. Something has changed and they are now TERRIBLE. They let me drive away after service, only for me to notice the tire pressure readings on the dash indicated they didn't fill the tires correctly and one was dangerously low. Brought it back, they said they fixed something but the problem got WORSE and when I called to raise the concern, the new manager (Michael) only argued about the things they DID do (basic oil change, etc), then said "you might have to take it to the Mercedes dealership then", and hung up on me. I have a fleet vehicle that I would, up until now, bring in for service. I needed a simple flat repair done today. Which was 100% repairable (I have worked in the auto&tire industry) but upon dropping off my vehical, the service writer said I would need a new tire because they don't clean out the temporary Factory sealant that came with the vehicle. (No spare tire, just a pump and sealant kit) He said it wasn't possible to clean....unfortunately for him I have cleaned that gorilla snot out of countless tires and applied perfectly good patches....so obviously someone is either lying, or just lazy. Either way, I'll start taking my fleet vehicles to pep boys, where they had NO issue fixing my tire. read more

If I could give a negative star review I would. This Mike so called manager is rude as can be. Took my tire and immediately blamed me for the tire without even looking at at. Very rude and unprofessional. I couldn't even say a word without him cutting me off and telling me it's not his problem. He proceeds to add air for the tire and continued to tell me it was my fault. The tire was faulty but he blamed me. When he realized I wasn't having his attitude he walked away and pretended to be busy. Rude, Inconsiderate and unprofessional. read more

We had a screw in the (brand new) tire tread, 1" in from the sidewall. They said we had to have a new tire. Hmmm. It's in the tread, not the sidewall. Went to Ocean Tire on Aviation 5 min away and they laughed and had us up/down/plugged in 10 minutes. read more

Shocker.... another bad review due to unscrupulous "mechanics" trying to squeeze more money from you than they should. Say it ain't so. This time I only went in for an oil change because I've learned my lesson from other "shops"-- lesson learned is to get a recommendation from a friend or family member before paying for repairs because, well.... we all know that there are too many crooked shops out there. Ask someone who has been going to the same mechanic for years. Oftentimes, just once isn't enough to know if they will consistently be fair and honest. So, I only went in to Firestone for a simple oil change. Firestone is so gracious as to give you a list of recommendations.... They said I needed 1) Brake Fluid Exchange 2) Cooling System hose replacement 3) Cabin Filter 4) Wiper Blades. TOTAL $244 I did get a recommendation to go to a more honest shop from my neighbor this time. Went in for a second opinion. I didn't tell them what Firestone "found" until AFTER they told me what they detected. They only thing the 2nd shop found was that the Cooling Bypass Hose needed replacement. Total $58. They said they tested the Brake Fluid and I was fine (Firestone wanted to charge $79.99 for this) I took care of the Cabin Filter which was only $20 plus a 5 minute installment. Thank, you, Firestone, for trying to squeeze nearly $200 EXTRA out of me. Really appreciate your greed. Have a nice day! BTW.... looking at many of the other 5 Star reviews on this place, it's amazing how many people remember Patty (or Patricia's) name. Coincidence? Funny.... First I called needing a specialty rare van tire which they had in stock. Really crazy when I arrived and everyday. Make sure you have some time to wait. They should hire about 5 more guys. They have some really experienced dudes there that know how to get stuff done. This would have been a 2 star for me but this lady Sylvia deserves 5 stars. I can tell she has been doing this for a while. She handled the chaos like nothing I've seen before. What ever they are paying her they should double it. Place would fall apart without a solid front person. I would recommend this place for the experienced personnel alone but not if I'm in a hurry. My tires look great and I would go back. read more

Don't you love when that tire light comes on?? Well I stopped to get air and Lee wanted to check it and yup nail in my tire !!!! It could not be patched because it was too close to where it had been plugged before from another nail ... hey it's not like you can see nails in the street !!! Well Pattie was very helpful and she suggested the closest tire they had that would match. I have road hazard protection on my tires so the new tire was prorated. I highly suggested getting this on your tires. She asked if I had time for an alignment. I hadn't gotten it done in a long time. I was already on my way to work and didn't have a lot of time. She got me out of there in just under an hour. My old Firestone closed this is the closest one to my sons school. I have stopped her many times and they're always very helpful. I will return back to this location when I need to. read more

Took care of my Ford's screw in my tire and even found a nail in another-which he didn't charge me for taking out! A few years back I bought an older car but with low miles. Took it to Firestone for an alignment, and upgraded to the lifetime alignment package. A year or two later I bring it back for tire rotation and realignment. Made an appointment. Got there on time. Waited FOUR HOURS for them to complete this simple task. Fast forward to today, needed some work on my front end. My mechanic asks for the wheel lock key...nowhere to be found. Aholes at Firestone didn't bother to put it back. I will NEVER. EVER. GO. I went to get an alignment and they took two hours "working" on the car and they never put the car on the alignment rack machine. They lied and said they performed the work and they gave me an alignment sheet from another car with the top of the paper ripped off to hide the fact that it was from another car. Great store! Pep Boys really messed up my Sunday, so I took my Land Cruiser to Miguel at Firestone. He got the car in right away, and even had a Hunter machine to get the alignment done! I've brought my car here for oil changes and other routine maintenance several times over the past couple years. They've never messed anything up and are really good about getting down to business if you tell them you are in a time crunch. But every time I come here, they give me a long-winded list of 397 recommendations: clean the break pads, you need a new air filter every 5,000 miles, our computer says you need your battery replaced, blah blah blah. My battery needs to be replaced? Really? So I ask the guy, "How often do you usually recommend that people replace their battery?", thinking he probably tells everyone and their momma that they need a new battery. And he replies, "well batteries these days are maintenance-free, so it's usually just a matter of waiting for it to act up." Okay. Does my battery seem to be "acting up" to you? I think not. Sometimes they are aggressive about their "recommendations", and other times they're not. Mechanics were salesmen in their past lives. I hate salesmen. Please just change my oil and rotate my tires like I asked, and do away with the BS. read more

I started coming to this location for oil changes after reading the good reviews back when EZLube was still around and I could not stand going there. There are frequent coupon deals on their website (at least around the times that I need an oil change). The oil changes tend to take a bit longer than other places (45min-1hr easy) but there is a plaza with a Whole Foods a block away so I typically walk there to browse in the meantime. There is also a waiting area with a TV and chairs and some magazines inside. I like coming here because I don't feel that these guys are trying to upsell unnecessary services and parts (Although they give you recommendations on services for your car and a spiel on their credit card offering) and seem to give straightforward explanations to questions. As long as they keep this up, I'll most likely continue coming to this location, especially after my phone call with Meineke (see review below). read more

I showed up on a rainy day. The only guy in the shop looked like he was doing nothing. I walked up to inform him that I need 2 new tires. Before I could get 5 words in, he blurted, "Can you give me a minute! There are 2 customers ahead of you!" I responded that I did not see them. But I then noticed there were 2 customers in the waiting area. I stood there 1st in line for 10 minutes. The line grew to 4 people. After standing there 10 minutes, the employee announced that they are only taking appointments. I said, "Why didn't you tell me that when I walked in?" No response. Then I asked, "How do I make an appointment?" The response was, "Sir, don't get loud with me." I told him he was an A-hole, told him I will not return and left. The lot was packed with about 40 cars which clearly have not been fixed. read more

Just avoid this place, they are so great at making an appointment for a full inspection but when you get there it's the same old wait over there and we will get to it when we get to it. I had an 8am appointment, supposedly first of the day, got there and was told there were several people ahead of me, I waited until 9:30 and left. They are also very rude. Get the lifetime alignment, it's worth it. My appointment was at 9 AM and they were ready at exactly 9 AM. They told me it would take about 1.5 hours, and they finished ten minutes early. We used to love this store and were regular customers for many years. After this week, however, I would strongly recommend staying away. It started with a friend going there to see about getting his air conditioning serviced for the summer. He was told that 3 major components of his a/c were out and it would cost $1500.00 to fix. He told us about it and we thought oh what a shame. Still thinking this is normally a reliable store, we decided to take our car in for a/c servicing. Guess what? We also were told that 3 major components went out on our a/c and that our bill would be $1500.00 to fix it! We got our car out of their as fast as we could. Hello Bob? Bob? Where in the hell did Bob go? These are the questions I was asking when I ordered run flat tires for my Camaro. I was going on a trip to get away from all this on July 10th 2020 and could not go until I had in my tires. Bob said he would order them. I waited for about five days for him to call me to tell me that they were in. Since I did not get a call, I drove in there to speak to him in person. No Bob. The woman that works with ( Sylvia) said that he had an injury and he was out. Ya know , I feel for Bob with his injury and all , however, as they say, "that don't confront me" I need my tires by next Friday. Friday came. And at the door I went. I was driving by there so I figured I'd come in as it was getting close to my trip. No Bob. Also, no tires. The woman he works with said that she can't find them and she will check into it and have Bob call me back. The 10th approached and I canceled my trip as I got ghosted by Bob AND Firestone and /or Sylvia. I ended up going to Pep Boys on Artesia and Aviation in Redondo Beach. I was treated with prompt service and got them put on the car. The moral of the story is; no Bob, never go back!! read more

They got busier and busier as I waited, it was nuts and there was only one customer service rep on duty (I guess because it was Sunday.) it was totally swamped, but he treated each customer like they were the most important one there, multitasked, kept a sense of humor, and helped as quickly as humanly possible. read more

I showed up 90 minutes later only to be told they had none. Thanks for wasting my time firestone I'll never be back. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They have been lying to my face whenever I payed for the inspection and payed for services like oil and brakes, I drove off after picking up my car and the next day I hear a noise on the front passenger side wheel, I stop and saw that two of the bolts that hold the wheel in place are gone, I take it back and the guy that comes out that had previously worked on my car has this angry face. I noticed that he had to tighten most of the bolts on both sides because most of them were loose. He then finds some odd shape bolts to replace the ones I lost. Turned out, he put the wheel wrong and because I kept driving it; I caused $800 of damage, at the same time I ask the new mechanic to check the brakes that I had just changed and the oil, and I wasn't surprised when he said that the rotors and pads looked very worn and the oil needed change, I had my boyfriend with me and he was a witness of the dirty oil and the Almost none existent brake pads. No, I would never go back to them and I would not encourage anybody to go there and take their chances. You might have been lucky once or twice; but you better believe that eventually they will charge you for work that never happened or was done wrong. read more

Same problems other people have had. They try to sell you everything they can think of to replace. Called us multiple times to sell other "necessary services" on a car that isn't 3 years old yet. They don't complete the work anywhere near the time quotes and they have lots of extra fees so look closely at the invoice and go get the work done elsewhere. If you have a flat, don't expect them to fix it. They always seem to be unable. read more

Got my car home on Wednesday night and noticed a nail in the tire. Called Firestone immediately and was offered an 8.30AM appointment the next day. They also took my tire specs so they could order a replacement ahead of time in the event that it needed one (and walked me through how to find my tire specs very patiently). I drove in around 8.20; they saw me immediately and asked me to wait while they checked out the tire. They said they would attempt a fix, and that if it did need a new tire, I would still get the car back same day. They made me a pot of coffee while I waited and were super friendly. I left at 8.52 with a perfectly patched tire. Great experience all round! read more

General Manager Tim Feldt and his staff's Steve and Bo's incredibly thoughtful professional service was among my most positive customer service encounters ever. Not only did Tim swiftly provide me with a print-out of several alternatives so I was able to chose a high quality tire to replace one that unexpectedly suffered sidewall damage he did so in such in a way that made me feel that I was doing them a favor for letting them work way past their closing time to take care of my problem. For several years I have been buying my tires from America's Tire because of prices and guarantees for emergencies; however I always thought something was missing. That company sells tires, Tim and his staff service people. Tim's kindness and his workers' willingness to begin replacing my tire when their store was already closed for 20 minutes was something I doubt I will ever forget. He enabled me to meet my family for an important event and return to Monterey the next evening. read more

I made the mistake of going to a place up the street in Hermosa, across from the place that used to be Ihop, and those guys told me I needed new brake-pads on my 2 year old car with under 15,000 miles. I took the car back to my usual Firestone (here) and they checked everything out and said my brakes looked great, no need for the "urgent" 150$ fix the other place said I needed. I've had a horrible experience with this Firestone location in Redondo Beach. They are walking distance to our place, so I took my car for overheating. They not only didn't fix the overheating, but managed to sell expensive tires to us. My car overheated the next day and had to take it back to them. They came up with all kinds of excuses and claimed that they have fixed it. My car still over heats and I refused to go back to them!!! They are over priced and dishonest mechanics!!! We are so pissed at them and will never go to them! I found a great mechanic in Lomita on PCH (GJK) and they are wonderful. Reasonably priced and honest!!! I brought my car there on a Sunday with towing services . I got a estimate , which I thought it was a bit high, so I called other places and got more info on the part and labor prices. Firestone wanted to charge me $80 more for the same part as other places. I then asked the manager why and he said he was going to do more research. I waited almost 4 hours for the estimate and came still much higher than other places. The manager told me that was company policies to charge a minimum for the part . I totally wasted hours on Firestone, I ended up picking up my car and bringing to another place where the price was right, great customer service and my car was done in a couple of hours .
