A few months ago, I decided to drop my Mercedes Benz off at Firestone instead of paying the almost 50% markup at the Dealership for brakes and other service. On Saturday, my boyfriend and I entered and were greeted by a Gentleman with a name tag that let us know that he was from the North Pole. He smiled when he noticed me reading his name tag and said that areas of the North Pole were decorated with candy canes while his eyes lit up thinking of home. His coworker, a woman, was just as pleasant as he was and he said that we could leave Weezie ( Louise ...My Momma's name ) in his care and he would give her a detailed analysis. After a few hours, he gave me a call and found all the same issues that the Mercedes Benz dealership had found and discussed with me the prices. While it was a large number, it was 1/3 of what the dealership was trying to pump me for. My brakes were squeaking so bad I couldn't take it anymore, but didn't want to pay $1800 at the dealership. As an added benefit, I had 6 service items completed that day for $1800 versus $1800 for one and received a military discount. I decided to wait to post my review after reading that some customers felt that they had paid for services that were not competed correctly. The moment I pressed the brakes on the way home the car stopped on a dime. The horrible screech was gone and and a car with new brakes was in my possession. It's been months and I can say that I'm glad I stepped into this Firestone. I was even notified that my Turbo would need to be replaced and was informed that it was best to let the dealership do intricate services like that because of the maintenance required. All in all, Weezie after 10 years is still riding well and now I know there are services like oil changes, tires and air vents that Firestone definitely can accommodate. I've been coming here annually for inspections. There was just one hiccup when the VIN number was off by one digit, causing a headache, but it was promptly corrected, and I got my sticker on time. They're generally quick, and the waiting time is minimal. If there's a wait, there's a lobby and a QT gas station nearby. Plus, the inspection is only $7.00. What a bargain! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Dropped my car off for an 11am appointment for an oil change. Two hours later I called to check on my car and spoke to Julia/Juliana and she said that my car was currently being worked on and it would be another hour maybe hour and a half. I specifically asked had my car been pulled in for service and again she assured me that my car was being worked on at that moment. An hour and half later( now 3 1/2 hours) I showed up to pick up my car. Charlie got my paperwork and said "oh my mechanic dropped your paperwork and didn't pick it up. We haven't seen your car yet." This man actually chuckled at me, three and a half hours for an oil change and you couldn't be bothered to pick up a piece of paperwork that y'all dropped. On top of that to be lied to be Julia was unbelievable. I asked for my keys and drove off. I will NOT be spending my money here. read more

Came in for simple oil change and came out to fine my car cover in oily hand prints all over the outside and inside. I have no idea why they would have to be in the passenger side and back seat area for an oil change. Oil hand prints on the glass and all the way around the vehicle. Didn't offer to have it washed, or pay for a wash. Rather had the tech come out in the same oily gloves and attempt to remove the oil inside an out. Won't be making the mistake of user their services again. read more

The Firestone off Prue and Bandera will no longer get my business. I had them replace all 4 tires and front brakes. Soon after dropping off, I got a phone call saying I need new rotors. I said go ahead. After the work was done all seemed fine until I hit 25mph and my car sounded like an airplane was taking off. I asked Firestone to address the "airplane" noise and they offered up that the noise was coming from a worn wheel bearing and that was a safety issue, and I was convinced this was the cause of the noise. I was charged $400+ dollars to repair a wheel bearing. The noise was still present, and I took the car back the following weekend. They refunded the cost of the parts and work after I brought it to their attention again. As I continued to remedy the noise, I noticed rusted rotors. Firestone allegedly replaced my rotors with new rotors. You be the judge. Both Bryton and Don (poker face) "those are new rotors". I then asked them to replace the parts with new parts and they refused. I asked them to show me their stock of rotors and I would be satisfied if they could show me any new rusted rotors in a box. They couldn't do that of course. The rotors they claim are new were my old VW resurfaced rotors. You can see where the wheels rusted on over the last 5 years. I was determined to solve the noise and I then personally replaced the rotors and brakes and returned "their" parts back to the store. I received a partial refund. This didn't make the sound go away. Finally, I had them replace the tires due to their " try and buy policy". Bryton told me the problem was transmission related and the noise wouldn't go away as I dropped off the car. I upgraded anyway to the Firehawks. BTW the noise went away . After the rotor incident, I could see them selling new tires but installing used tires. I will never remove this post; however, will modify it if Firestone corporate can do something about the leadership's ethical practices. I will continue to use my position as a previous customer and as a treasurer and board member of a homeowner's association with Camino Bandera to guide people away from this business. Firestone is giving honest mechanics a bad name. read more

Battery light (battery malfunction charge) came on Sunday prior to heading to Dallas. New to me. Worried I'd have no time to get addressed & fixed before my trip my husband suggested Firestone (he's a prev customer). I was able to get in early, about 10:30. They were able to diagnose my issue, bad alternator but they would be able to fix same day. Once getting in there they discovered it was a belt issue, barely any belt left, again able to get replaced same day, barely bc part was across town. After replacing belt this fixed the issue, which was better news than the alternator (& cheaper). I was able to pick up my car before close, again all on a Sunday. It's been 2 weeks, made the trip to Dallas & back & no issues. This maybe my new auto home for these types of issues. CSR staff kept me informed throughout the day about my vehicle. Two visits so far to this new location which replaced a CapitalOne. The first time, we had a horrible loud rattle. They diagnosed it as a weather stripping that had fallen off and was caught. Charged us like $25-40 for their time and removal. Second visit was for my lifetime alignment service. They told me one tire was worn out, which I knew and declined to replace at the moment. The price quoted was fair. They have a desk with AC power similar to libraries / airports, which is great! Next door is a QT where you can grab food and drink. read more

They pulled my car in for an alignment and they broke my eccentric bolt, FOR THE SECOND TIME blaming the bolt being "rusted on" which it was not they pulled the bolt off with an impact which you can't do or you'll ... The lady at the counter is very rude. I understand I'll probably have to wait for my car to be seen seeing as their online appointment setting service never works, I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is the old hag's attitude on the phone and upon arrival. At first I thought she was just annoyed with me but she met everyone with the same face. Every other service center was just as bus bcy and unfortunately the only one with an attitude was closest to me. Firestone tires have been good performers on my vehicles at a reasonable price. We recently replace 4 tires on our Honda. I wanted specific tires that they didn't have in the store but could have in later the same day. I decided to schedule for the next morning, dropped of the car and was contacted in 2 hours when the work was complete. The counter help know the tires, how to find them and get them on the vehicle. Terrible. All I needed was a tire swap, and they hold me there for 2 hours. The place wasnt busy, yet they have no sense of urgency, its like everyone works in slow motion. My car was ready, yet they didnt get me checked out and continued to make me wait. this ship is absolutely terrible, id never recommend. They either need new staff or real training. read more

The worst place to bring your car. I bring my car here to replace drive belt since the power steering and battery light symbol is on and ac is not working. They call me the next day to pick up my car and it's ready. So i go straight to reception or whatever you call it pay the charges and they hand me the key. I start my car to drive it home guest what?? The steering wheel is very tight the break warning is on and the car is not drivable. I ask them what happen? The guy in front desk responded that i told them just replace the serpentine belt??? Obviously no checking after installing the parts??? Oh they recommend to replace the spark plugs?? read more

Went here to get my brakes done. Got my truck back and 30 minutes later my brakes were squealing like a pig. I returned and they said they can replace the brakes due to warranty, but I need new rotors due to the brakes carving into them. I said ok go ahead and change them. They charged me $300+ to replace them! I got the truck back... the next day, it still squealing!!! I went back today and asked to check them again. Also, had a TPMS sensor issue. They replaced the brakes again (with a different brand). They told me that 3 of the 4 TPMS sensor were bad. That it would cost $390 to replace them. I told them no. I got the truck back and again, the truck is still squealing! Also, went home and found a video that shows how to check your sensor... found that ONLY 1 SENSOR IS BAD!! Not 3! Rip offs! We had what felt like a severe tire imbalance on the 400 mile drive from Northwest Louisiana to San Antonio with family for vacation. When I called Firestone early one morning, they said they were booked up all day but would try to fit it in. My son dropped it off in the morning. A tire had a foot long split along the tread with the steel cord damaged but it still held air. It was replaced before quitting time. We never would've made it home with the bad tire. The photo of the damage made me realize we were extremely lucky to make it to San Antonio at all. read more

Also had to wait about an hour for an oil change don't know if that's normal but i've never waited that long before.... anyways don't recommend don't come here. I sent my 18yo daughter to have one of our cars inspected for registration. She called me to tell me it wouldn't pass because the battery was failing, and it would be $169 to replace it. I had her put the employee she was dealing with on the phone with me, and she confirmed that it would not pass without a new battery. I asked what the battery has to do with the state inspection and she replied, she didn't know and would have to check with the service tech. It turns out that the service tech passed the inspection but the person behind the counter was telling my daughter she needed a new battery. How many people are being coerced into buying services and products that are not part of the reason for the visit? This wasn't merely a "heads up" courtesy. She had my daughter convinced she needed a new battery to pass inspection. read more
