They switched out one of my lug nuts the 1st time. 2nd time I paid for them to replace my back brakes and rotors along with alignment. Had a 9 am a Sunday appointment to get a standard complete care inspection. walked in 9 am sharp and listened the the guy at the front converse w a couple about the differences between hybrid and fully electric vehicles for nearly 10 minutes. I eventually got checked in, I was told my vehicle would be ready around 1-2. 1 o clock came around and I had not heard anything back so I called back and was they will call me when my car is ready. I waited until about 1:30, then received a call saying my vehicle will be ready at 2:15. I arrived at 2:45 to be told he vehicle is not ready and will take "a few minutes longer", which after asking him to clarify is actually 20-30 minutes. Absolutely great! This store stands behind it's word. This store missed a tire issue my car had. About a week later I contacted the store manager to let them know it was missed. I expected a hassle. Not only was the store manager calm and courteous she was also diligent and upstanding. She immediately handled the situation, had my car fully repaired and did so at no cost to me. There was no hassle, no back and forth, no endless hours of telephone automation dealing with corporate America. If only all companies and managers were this honorable!! The situation went from me thinking I would end my relationship with Firestone for good to me becoming a lifetime customer. I took my car in because I had a screw in my tire and wanted to see if they could patch it instead of having to buy all new tires. They told me it was borderline and that they couldn't fix it. Also, they said my tires were borderline as well but they have plenty of tread on them still. They tried to hustle me into buying some expensive tires but I told them I wanted to shop around. Our tire was patched the next day for $15 at another mechanic. I understand that you have to make sales but why did they have to lie to me about my tires. read more

Not the best experience I've had when it comes to customer service. I went to Firestone Tire in Santee for one new tire. I told the person who set up my appointment that I only wanted to replace one when I went in the drop my car off they had it set in the system to charge me for four brand new tires. When I told one of the sale staff I was speaking with that I only wanted to replace one of my tires they made a smart comment and started to give an attitude. Before leaving they let me know that when my car was done i'd be getting a phone call. I never got a phone call and when I arrived my car was just sitting in the lot. I had my appointment set for 1pm I didn't get my car until four hours later and that's because I made the decision to show up before they close to see why it was taking them so long. I made an appointment as I needed an oil change using the mobile app and received a notice it was set for 8am. I show up early at 7:45 am as the email said to check in early. None is at the location. At 8:15 I call the customer service number when no one answered the local number. The customer service number said that they had 1 appointment at 9 am and all others at 10 am so it looks like the operating hrs changed. The rep said she would do notes for the center and they could get me in at 10. Since I was traveling the coming week I agreed... returned at 10 am and the manager said he was sorry but they can't fix the app and he knows it has been a problem for a week or two and it was out of his hands. He said he could not get me in at 10 or that day because they were booked.... So I guess it's my problem the app for firestone let me make the appointment. Hours are wrong on the app and website. No hours listed on voicemail for the center.... and they have a big diagnostic saying use the app on the door.... And the manager could not help me when I returned at 9:45 when they were setting up.... you think he would have got my vehicle up and had it changed as thy had 3 people I. When I arrived and he knew the appointment was a firestone issue... I have 4 cars between mine and my boys vehicles.... IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! My car was damaged, and I was told that I wasn't being honest about it. This is a detailed review by a car nut. I do all my own car work, except alignments and tire mounting, and that only because I don't own the equipment to do it myself. This Firestone made multiple alignment attempts, culminating in a botched tire install, damaged wheels, and a shocking reaction by the manager, Chris. I first took my 2010 Mazdaspeed3 in to this Firestone on the recommendation of a friend for a good alignment guy back in Mar of 2017. Chris was friendly, courteous, and helpful getting my appointment scheduled, listening to my requests, and getting it done in a timely manner. When this first alignment was finished, my steering wheel was about 4-5 degrees off to the left. When I brought this to his attention, he told me it was due to worn tires. To his credit, they were badly scrubbed tires I had taken off my track car to finish off on the road. However, that won't leave your steering wheel way off. During this alignment, they noticed a puncture, and attempted to repair it. They removed the tire, and when scuffing the rubber before applying a patch, went way to deep, and then came out and told me it couldn't be repaired (blaming it on something else!). I took the car to another tire shop, pulled the tire off, and we found that damage Firestone tech had done. We plugged it and patched it (though sketchy), and I rotated them all, myself, and returned the car another day to have it realigned, specifically stating that I wanted my steering wheel centered, as Chris originally had promised me would be no problem to do (it shouldn't ever be a problem to do so). Again, they aligned it, and the steering wheel was way off center. Again, I was told it was due to badly worn tires. I just gave up and drove the car as it was until just before Xmas 2017. I needed new tires, and ordered some online, took them to the same Firestone to install. Darrell told me 1.5-2 hour wait, Fri before Xmas, no biggie. 2.5 hours into waiting, I asked him what the hold up was, he apologized, took $32 off my $136 mount and balance(!), and I was out the door in just over 3 hours. Conveniently for Firestone, well after dark! (They aligned it a couple days before this, and what do you know? Steering wheel still off, with new tires, 3rd attempt, this time telling me that you can't adjust that. Can't adjust the center on the steering?!) The next morning I went out to clean off the wheel mounting grease they had smeared all over my flat black wheels, and was shocked to see how much damage had been done to my wheels! They had chipped paint off all over the place. It looks like a drunk monkey with a ball peen hammer went to town on ALL four of them! They had obviously used a screwdriver to pry the center caps out, had slammed the air wrench socket into the lug holes, and had dragged the entire outer beads with steel. There were even other big scratches and chips on the spokes of the wheels, where they would have had absolutely no reason to even put a tool near the paint! I immediately called Darrell and let fly with my anger at their incompetence. He was very apologetic, and understood my frustration at the damage. He told me that Chris was the main manager and to bring it in for him to see after Xmas, and that Chris was an honest, good guy that took care of customers. Darrell, you were way wrong. I waited until Chris returned to work, Weds after Xmas, and brought the car down for him to see. He came out to look at it, and basically told me I was lying, that there was no way they could have done all that because they are far too careful. Especially the center cap surround damage, he said there is no way they could've done that, as they pop them out from the back side of the wheel! Obviously, your techs don't do that, Chris! He said the best he could do for me was to reimburse for materials to repair them. Really?! I wet sanded these wheels, etch primed them, then sprayed them with flat black epoxy, and let them cure for a week before installing them on the car. This finish has proved more durable than powder coating on my other wheels. I'm used to having to touch up a nick or two on the outer bead of each wheel when I replace tires, but never anything like this amount of damage. I ran to the Home Depot down the street, grabbed the materials, and went straight back to get reimbursed. I looked Chris in the eye and told him I was really not happy at him suggesting I am a liar, and wasn't being honest about the damage. He said, oh no, nothing like that, that he meant I must not have noticed that they were so damaged when I brought them in, because of shopping carts and such. Shopping carts?! Hitting my wheels? Really?! Don't go to this Firestone. Just don't. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to damage your wheels with pure carelessness and then have management not do a damn thing about it. I went there in July 2021 to have a leaking tire repaired that another Firestone store installed and to have my tires rotated and balanced. The tech told me that the tire could not be repaired because the original installer damaged the bead, again installed by Firestone so they would sell me a tire for $127.00 a prorated price. I agreed but not happy. When they were almost finished the tech came in to take care of my bill and I asked if they balanced the tires... he answered no. I asked why and he said I didn't ask for a balance which is true I assumed that a rotation and balance came as one because when they sell you the tires they say lifetime rotation and balance as a selling point. I asked to speak with the manager Matt F to see why I had to ask for a balance when it should come with a rotation, he proceeded to ask if I was a girl and didn't know anything about cars. I ended it there and said I would follow up with corporate. I called corporate and about 4 days later I finally received a return call from Robert the district manager who also laughed at the story of his manager asking if I was a girl and didn't know anything about cars... but said he would take care of it and said he would send me a gift card or coupon for a couple of oil changes which I never received. I have Firestone tires on my truck and my wife has them on her car which were purchased at this store but after the service and attitude I received I will go back to Costco for tires and excellent customer service. To start from the beginning, I use to goto the Firestone on MCAS Miramar until the day I marked all my tires before dropping the truck off for a rotation/balance, picked the truck up and tires were in the same place. So lately I have been going to the Firestone closer to home in Santee. No issues until yesterday and it was enough to keep me from ever going back to Firestone, period. Aug 25th I arrive early for my 12pm appointment to have new tires installed (35" destination m/t). The gentleman behind the counter explained to me that it could be 10-15 mins before they start and another 1.5hr to 2hrs to complete the job. I said cool. I also said I am keeping the used tires (they still had ~50% tread remaining and I sell them to help with the cost of new tires). 1 hour later they finally pull my truck into the bay... about another hour later I went out to my truck to retrieve some paperwork and noticed they had a couple of my (used) tires stacked around the corner, so I reminded them to just throw them in the bed when they're done. 1.5 hr later a gentleman comes and ask if I'd like an alignment because it was off a bit, I said sure. At this point I have been waiting for 3.5 hours to get some tires mounted/balanced. Its easily a 1 - 1.5 hr job. So the alignment takes another hour which isnt too bad. All in all 4 new tires and an alignment, I sat in the lobby (patiently) for 4.5 hours. Thats insane. They drove my truck around when it was finished and I noticed my used tires weren't in it. Then went over some pricing discrepancies, they were charging me a disposal fee, a lifetime balance/rotation fee that I had already purchased before in the past (said it is not removable) and something else (honestly cant remember what it was, but it was ~$20). so I'm still stuck with the "lifetime" rotation/balance fee even though I would never go back to Firestone. So they start wheeling my used tires to the truck after reminding them the 3rd time. As Im loading the tires up I noticed they damaged one (rendering it unusable). So at this point I can no longer sell them as a set and selling tires individually can take a very long time and eventually for a lot less money. My truck was also flashing "fill tires to 41psi" on the dash as it was drove over to the front (and for the test drive after the alignment if they actually did that properly). Had to get them to fill them up some more before leaving. Fast forward to today (Aug 26) after being offered $80 for the inconvenience and a destroyed tire, I said no thank you. I went in to speak with the General Manager, Chris, about the situation and try to come up with a fair resolution. Chris treated me with the general head nods in a "yes" fashion as if he was agreeing with me, all while at the same time saying "theres nothing I can do". Showed zero concern about how unorganized the shop is, and instead of taking responsibility for the damage he tried for a second to say he doesnt think they did it. I stopped him before he finished his statement and made it very clear that it 100% happened there. To me, fair would be to buy the whole set from me for my asking price (haha) but thats obviously not going to happen. Next I said repair the tire. He said they dont do repairs (so basically if they dent your door, they wont pay for it because they're not a body shop?). We agreed on $130 credit for the damaged tire. Which is what they would sell for individually, but now I'm still screwed. There is zero accountability for their actions there. Whats one upset customer when you have 5 more walking in the door? I get it. My question to you. If you had a set of 4 tires for sale (~$500), I came up and destroyed one, gave you $130 and said the rest arent my problem, how would you feel? I would not recommend having work done at Firestone. 1 star because I did actually leave with 4 new tires that I paid for. read more

It's unfortunate these guys stink so bad cause they offer all kinds of services and they're in a great location. Took my Acura in for front brakes and rotors after inspecting them myself first. After replacing them they told me my rear brakes were almost worn out (less than 3mm is what they told me). I got home and took the rear wheels off and found 7-8mm of pad left . These guys don't know shit and they'll try to sell you everything. I also had a tire with a leak the size of a pinhole. They told me it was too close to the sidewall and it couldn't be replaced LOL. I felt the need to write a quick review and praise Darryl Field for his professionalism and great customer service skills. I had my Jeep in there for service about a month ago for a check engine light - it ended up needing a new spark plug. About 3 weeks later the light came back on, I brought it back in and described the situation. This other issue was unrelated to the first, and I was frustrated because this was not going to be covered under any warranty from the previous work. Is it that firestone is just a huge corporation and does not care one bit about their customers?! These guys couldn't align a car if their life depended on it. With a lifetime alignment package and regular alignments I went through front tires three times faster. They don't care if your wheels are actually aligned as long as the computer shows green. The lifetime alignment is a scam to get you back to buy more tires after they ruin yours. read more

So. freakin'. pissed. Hubby and I went to Firestone today for standard oil change and tire rotation. They were busy. No biggie, we made an appointment to come back in a few hours. After lunch and shopping, we walked over to see if they were finished and our car was sitting outside, unmoved and not worked on. At closing time we had still not received a call letting us know our car was finished (hubby gave them two numbers). We drove over and it was a ghost town... our car was locked inside. *sad face* I am not happy about our appointment not being honored, our car being held captive, AND the lack of communication/courtesy. I walked in to this location with low expectations--as I had just been turned away from another location (National City, Highland Ave) because my car was "too low." At this point, I felt that I was conned into buying a lifetime alignment--when they couldn't do the job anymore because they had "newer" machines that couldn't perform the job. Luckily, I heard about this location by calling other Firestones--apparently this location is the 'mecca' for lowered vehicles. As soon as I arrive, I'm immediately greeted by Darryl. His greeting was not only professional, but it was also informative and brief (no fluff). This was surprisingly refreshing compared to the dismal greeting I got from the last location. Darryl went over what I was to expect while my vehicle was being serviced--and that was that. The wait wasn't even THAT bad--and each service bay was full when I arrived. Ian was the mechanic who worked on my vehicle--this guy really knows what he's doing. He knew how to drive my vehicle, even if it was parked on an elevated bank--avoiding scrapes. When I had little hope to getting my vehicle aligned--Ian came through and got the job done. He answered my questions and even made recommendations for my suspension to improve my driving experience. I am so happy I found this location--I will NEVER be returning to National City even if it's the closest to my home. Vehicle: 2004 Toyota Tacoma 230,000 miles Positive, they were able to take in two of our company vehicles even though they were short staffed. The service on one of our fleet trucks was needed since this is the first day that it wasn't needed at a job site, and that it hadn't received any maintenance in over eight months. Negative, this is the third or fourth time that I've had my air conditioning system assessed by Firestone. Each time I've received a diagnostic that has not solved the problem. First, was a recharge of the AC freon system which was understandable, however, did not solve the problem. Second, was a time when my vehicle was in the process of operating hotter than normal. This also was not able to be properly evaluated after two visits and required a visit to Toyota of El Cajon in order to be properly repaired. The most recent time that I visited Firestone was on Friday, September 4, 2015. There the specialist AC mechanic diagnosed a removal and replacement of the AC fan clutch. This was performed, and still the AC works sporadically and additionally, the check engine light began to light up after Firestone's repair of my vehicle. Additionally, I believe for each time that I have had my car diagnosed, Firestone has charged me for the AC diagnostic of $39.99 and then applied a $30 credit. A $9.99 credit for a failed diagnostic of the vehicle. I went to Firestone and set up an appointment for tomorrow morning. Granted, this is an old car with plenty of miles, but the maintenance has been habitually performed by Firestone mechanics as can be determined by your records. The truck is the last present my parents gave to me prior to passing, so the vehicle has not been replaced due to sentimental reasons. Since Firestone has been unable to properly repair and diagnose: 1) cause for overheating (repair was removal and replacement of fan clutch and radiator) and 2) the air conditioning system I am tempted to remove my vehicle and all other corporate vehicles from this account. read more

This place was pretty good considering its a car repair shop. I feel like most places are super dirty with dirty workers and I just feel the slim dripping from they're hair. This place was different. They had a large showroom in the front that was VERY clean for a repair shop. They had a TV on with direct TV in its own corner with plenty of seating. They had coffee and ice water. The oil change and tire rotation took slightly over 2 hours so I would recommend dropping it off and coming back. With all do respect though, I didn't have an appointment and thats the time they told me it would be ready and it was pretty much spot on. The prices were good. You have to pay extra for a tire rotation which I thought was weird but the grand total was in the same ball park as most other places. They did try to upsell but hey, thats how they make money. There were polite about it which I liked. Instead of just telling me over the counter what was wrong and what I needed, they actually took me in the back and walked me to my truck and showed me exactly what they were talking about. I've had to bring my car here several times for alignments (I may or may not have a horrible tendency to find curbs...with my car) and oil changes over the past year. It is always a pleasant experience and the staff are friendly and gregarious. I'm usually in and out in under an hour and a half, and the entire process is very smooth. I always take my car to Kris. He not only makes sure the job actually gets done he is completely trustworthy and doesn't tell you things you don't need. I just was told at Ford like 3 weeks ago I needed a new battery so I called Kris and asked him for a quote for that and tires and he looked up my account and let me know that my battery was under warranty and if it is bad that they would replace it for free. The guy at Ford said that if I didn't replace my battery I would end up stranded somewhere but when Kris tested it, it tested at like 650 or 690 the salesman at Ford stated it was at like 400 something. So come here they are trustworthy and they do good work and they check your account to ensure you are not under warranty. I highly recommend Kris Niva. He is amazing he has always been honest with me and worked with the budget I have. read more

I am not a big fan of any place that sells tires because it's like walking in a used car lot and the sales guys are cheesy. True for this place too! I am in desperate need of tires and Firestone did not push me or try to sway me just gave me a quote on tires. The discount for the 4 tires did not beat their competitors. Was told at 3:30 that they couldn't even get me in that day and I'd have to come in on Sunday, when they already knew I could not. If they had told me earlier I could have gone somewhere else. Wow! Amazing customer service! I came in right at opening and told Julio at the front desk I was in a hurry to make it to work on time but desperately needed an oil change. He relayed this to the mechanic, who ran out of the shop to grab my car, perform the oil change, pulled the car up front to the door, then ran back inside with the keys! I wouldn't expect this every day, they just were not busy and were able to fulfill my needs.
