rear brake pads said to be at 0. Totally possible, but rotors definitely not grinded.

I went to Firestone today to save money on my brakes. I had two issues. One was a nail in my tire, the other was rear brake replacements. I was informed after the tire was removed that it was a "run flat tire" and although they saw the nail they couldn't replace it because it was a run flat. I asked my guy friend, he had never heard of that term. Also, the tire treads were good and still thick. I was told I needed four new tires for my 2021 Audi and I could easily do this with their credit card. I declined. The next issue was my brakes. I was told the pads were at zero and rotors grinded down. The manager lady offered to show them to me. It seemed in hopes I would say no. I chose to see them because I had not heard grinding. I walked over to the technician and asked him to show me the rotors, and he said that I would probably not be able to see them until he took them off. I said, well how do you know they are grinded down metal to metal if you haven't seen them? He said it was behind the wheel thingy. However, my wheels were already off and on the floor and so I believe that the rotors were right there. His friend laughed like he was caught. I waited for him to take the entire rotor off to show it to me. And I have included a picture. He said that they were not grinded at all. He then gave me an explanation about how I needed to have the roters changed because the new brake pads cannot be cut. It was circular talk. I let the manager Chrismery Estrella know that they should not say that rotors were grinded down if they were not and should instead say they had to change the rotors because they cannot cut brake pads. I said as a woman who is not familiar with car repair you should really say exactly what the issue is and not say one thing and then change it when I actually view the rotor. I went ahead and got the brakes changed because I had already spent two hours waiting. But I am confident that my rotors did not need to be changed because they are not damages at all. Also I googled whether this was a requirement for audi q3 and it says no. I do know that google is not everything, but it appears that they didnt need to be changed and this was a misleading upsell. Ultimately the tech told me the rotors were grinded down without even looking at them. When I questioned it, he then gave another reason that I needed new rotors. As a woman this did not feel like a safe space for someone who is not informed about cars. Here is a picture of my rotors... let me know if they actually needed to be replaced. I will not be able to recommend this place, $637 later for rear brakes and rotors and tire still with a nail. Also, the woman manager never came out again to complete my order. She assigned someone else who continue to say that my rotors were run down because the pads were at zero. I asked him as well if he has seen the rotors, he said no and processed the rest of my order in silence. Let me just say the only reason that I completed this order was because I had wasted time here and I had a very busy week left with the holiday. It is not the price, it is the principal and good business practices that need ro be considered before coming here. Unfortunately, I read the reviews after I had this problem.

Instead of fixing it, this shop turned my visit into a predatory cash grab. * **Unwarranted Claims:** They claimed my diverter motor was fine (it wasn't) and instead generated a list of numerous other issues. While I can't verify if those items actually needed service since I had no other symptoms, the shop fabricated customer complaints under my name that I never made, seemingly to get my third-party warranty to cover the extra work. This is unverified and the repairs themselves may be perfectly fine. * **Billing "Errors":** They tried to charge me their standard retail labor rate instead of the contractually agreed-upon warranty rate until I caught it and called them out. * **Illegal Taxing:** They attempted to charge me sales tax on top of the warranty-covered work--which is illegal in Florida. When both I and the warranty company corrected them on the law, the shop smugly claimed they were "doing me a favor" by removing the tax. * **Unfixed Issue:** They charged a $125 diagnostic fee for the AC, clearly never actually tested the diverter motor, and handed my car back to me still broken. I ultimately took my car to CarMax, who diagnosed it honestly, found the exact diverter motor issue I originally complained about, and fixed it promptly at no charge. Christian Brothers showed a lack of ethics, threw a laundry list of repairs at my car, and failed to fix the one thing I came in for. Avoid this location.

I brought my 2012 Ford Focus in because I was having what seemed like a battery or electrical issue. The first thing they told me was that it was the battery, and I paid about $250. The battery they installed was faulty, so I had to bring the car back again. Even after that, the car still did not work properly. Then I had to deal with towing the car back again, only for them to tell me the problem was now the alternator. They charged me about $975 for the alternator. After paying for that, the vehicle still had the same issue. At that point, I had already paid for a battery, an alternator, towing expenses, and wasted a lot of time, yet the original problem was still not fixed. Then, after all of that, they told me it was something else and wanted even more money. Every time the car came back, the explanation changed, but the issue stayed the same. First it was the battery. Then it was the alternator. Then it was something else. Each time, more money was expected from me, but no real solution was provided. I had to go back and forth with this shop three different times, including towing expenses, and they still could not fix what turned out to be a simple issue. I finally took my car to another mechanic, and they found the actual problem. It was a simple cord that needed to be changed. That repair cost about $75 and fixed the car. So after this shop charged me over $1,000, installed a faulty battery at first, had me towing and returning the car multiple times, and kept changing the explanation while asking for more money, another mechanic solved the problem with a basic $75 repair. The repair experience was bad, but the way I was treated made it even worse. The owner was disrespectful, dismissive, and condescending. I felt like he spoke to me as if I had no right to ask questions about my own vehicle and my own money. I was not asking for a favor. I had already paid a large amount of money, and my car still was not fixed. I had every right to question what was going on. This is exactly why many women feel uncomfortable going to mechanic shops alone. In my experience, I felt looked down on, dismissed, overcharged, and treated like I should just keep quiet and pay whatever I was told. No woman should be made to feel small, stupid, or powerless for asking reasonable questions about repairs that did not fix her vehicle. Based on my experience, this shop showed poor diagnosis, poor communication, poor accountability, poor customer service, and a serious lack of respect. I would not trust them with electrical work. I would not recommend them to women. I would not recommend them to anyone. My car did not need all of those expensive repairs to solve the problem. It needed a simple cord replacement. Please get a second opinion before allowing this shop to perform any major repair. I wish I had never brought my vehicle here in the first place.

A few months ago, I flew out to visit my son at college and discovered his first car needed front-end repairs. As a new driver, this was a stressful situation for him, and as a parent living out of town, I wanted to make sure he was treated honestly and fairly. From the moment we walked into the shop, Tyrell made all the difference. Tyrell was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. He took the time to explain everything in a way that both my son and I could understand. He was also funny and personable, which immediately put us at ease during what could have been a stressful experience. Most importantly, he earned our trust right away. He worked with us on the price, helped us understand the repairs that were needed, and treated my son with respect. As a parent, that's something I greatly appreciated. It's not easy handing over your child's first car for repairs when you're not familiar with the area, but Tyrell made us feel confident that we were in good hands. In fact, after I returned home, my son needed another repair. The reason I told him to take the car back to this same NTB location was because of the positive experience we had with Tyrell the first time. Finding someone you can trust in the automotive repair industry is invaluable, and Tyrell has earned that trust. Thank you, Tyrell, for taking such good care of my son and treating us like valued customers. Your customer service is exceptional, and you are a tremendous asset to National Tire & Battery. Exceptional employees deserve to be recognized, and I want to make sure he knows the positive impact he had on both my son and me. Rob at this Mavis store confirmed my suspicion about the tires and was most helpful. They didn't have the exact tire in house and I needed them replaced quickly because my son uses this car for work in Orlando. Rob gave me a good price on a similar tire and took a percentage off since some warranty still existed on the tires. I asked if a front end alignment would be needed. He said that he would run a check on it. When I received the call to pick up the car Rob informed me that the alignment wasn't needed and had the report (all in green) to prove it.
