I went to Firestone today to save money on my brakes. I had two issues. One was a nail in my tire, the other was rear brake replacements. I was informed after the tire was removed that it was a "run flat tire" and although they saw the nail they couldn't replace it because it was a run flat. I asked my guy friend, he had never heard of that term. Also, the tire treads were good and still thick. I was told I needed four new tires for my 2021 Audi and I could easily do this with their credit card. I declined. The next issue was my brakes. I was told the pads were at zero and rotors grinded down. The manager lady offered to show them to me. It seemed in hopes I would say no. I chose to see them because I had not heard grinding. I walked over to the technician and asked him to show me the rotors, and he said that I would probably not be able to see them until he took them off. I said, well how do you know they are grinded down metal to metal if you haven't seen them? He said it was behind the wheel thingy. However, my wheels were already off and on the floor and so I believe that the rotors were right there. His friend laughed like he was caught. I waited for him to take the entire rotor off to show it to me. And I have included a picture. He said that they were not grinded at all. He then gave me an explanation about how I needed to have the roters changed because the new brake pads cannot be cut. It was circular talk. I let the manager Chrismery Estrella know that they should not say that rotors were grinded down if they were not and should instead say they had to change the rotors because they cannot cut brake pads. I said as a woman who is not familiar with car repair you should really say exactly what the issue is and not say one thing and then change it when I actually view the rotor. I went ahead and got the brakes changed because I had already spent two hours waiting. But I am confident that my rotors did not need to be changed because they are not damages at all. Also I googled whether this was a requirement for audi q3 and it says no. I do know that google is not everything, but it appears that they didnt need to be changed and this was a misleading upsell. Ultimately the tech told me the rotors were grinded down without even looking at them. When I questioned it, he then gave another reason that I needed new rotors. As a woman this did not feel like a safe space for someone who is not informed about cars. Here is a picture of my rotors... let me know if they actually needed to be replaced. I will not be able to recommend this place, $637 later for rear brakes and rotors and tire still with a nail. Also, the woman manager never came out again to complete my order. She assigned someone else who continue to say that my rotors were run down because the pads were at zero. I asked him as well if he has seen the rotors, he said no and processed the rest of my order in silence. Let me just say the only reason that I completed this order was because I had wasted time here and I had a very busy week left with the holiday. They messed up my oil change. They put oil blend instead of full synthetic. Even though I paid the full $69 for a full synthetic. Very unorganized team! They didn't even realize what they done wrong until I had to come back to the store to change the mileage they put on the little sticker they stick on the wind shield. So I experienced exactly what everyone else has stated in their reviews, and I'm really disappointed. I went in for an oil change and of course they tried to sell me tires. My tires aren't even that old (2 of them almost brand new) and I have no irregular wear. Also, as I sat in the waiting room I was able to hear them call everyone else over that was waiting for their cars and try to sell them on all sorts of other services. Most of the time they would say they were just "suggested", but then would go on about how horrible it would be later if the person didn't do the suggested repair now. I will start by saying that the repair went well, and the problem is fixed. That being said, I brought my car to Firestone for a specific problem that both myself and the shop could easily discern from the symptoms. I did not bring it in for an inspection. The biggest problem was that Firestone seems to be paying more (and therefore charging more) for parts than they should. I was astonished to find that the parts SL988 and SL987 were each listed at $160.99 on my invoice -- That's $322 for two very simple parts, and that's before labor charges. I have done extensive research on these parts and except for directly from Mercedes the price is not over $45 each and even Mercedes offers them for $65 each for the OEM parts. I checked the work that Firestone did on the car and there were no other parts replaced. Also, I don't like the new policy of adding the $50 inspection cost to the invoice even after using Firestone for the repairs. I could understand it if I actually brought the car in for an inspection, the problem was a mystery, and I didn't have the work done there. I submitted essentially these same comments to the survey they sent out over a month ago. I have not received any response. My previous visit to this same location a couple of months earlier was for an oil change. I left the store with two new tires and an oil leak. I trusted their judgment back then and let them replace the two newest tires, which coincidentally were not Firestone tires. read more

BEWARE: I went here for the $21 oil change. Went on Yelp and read the reviews so I knew what I was walking into. So based on the reviews I checked all of my tires thoroughly, which only have 20,000 miles on them, and they were free of any damage prior to going. I drove 2.5 miles to their location and while at Firestone I am told that I have a huge screw in my tire in an irreparably location (see picture) and it's going to cost me $200+. The odds of that actually accidentally happening in 2.5 miles is beyond belief. So you be the judge. Update: I have responded to Firestone's request, as seen below, without any real resolution on their part. 2nd Update: Received a phone call from the district manager and he sincerely wanted to make things right, so that was good. I had to get my tires replaced and oil change done. They were very professional and I do not know her name but I think she is a manager or assistant manager there but she had excellent customer service skills. It did take them a little over 2 hours to do the work and then the guy did tell me I needed an alignment which I did need one so I did get that but besides the wait time everything was good. They kept the lobby nice and customer bathroom was clean. It's not a five star just because of the wait but everything else was great. I would recommend them. read more

I find this establishment to be very dishonest and quite reckless. On 3/16/15, I had an appointment at 0900 to have 4 new Bridgestone tires placed on my 2010 BMW, which I have alway kept in immaculate condition until last Monday. I had just left work prior to arriving at Firestone and I had my car backed into a parking space in the hospitals garage and the only object behind my car was a wall. Once arriving at Firestone, I backed my car into a parking space and folded the mirrors as I would normally do. I stood at the door for approximately 30 minutes before going outside to wait for my ride. I was outside when the technician took my car into the garage. I looked at it as he drove past me. There was nothing wrong with the rear bumper on my car. Upon returning about two hours later, the manager said the car should be ready in 15 min. I was standing outside when the technician drove my car up and parked it. To my surprise I had a large dent in the drivers side rear bumper. I asked the technician what had happened and he stated, "I don't know." The manager came out and took pictures as well as myself. It was quite obvious that it was recently damaged. On the inside of the shop, the technician stated that he did not know how to fold down the mirrors. Really?? I was told to get estimates and I did. However, the bumper will need to be replaced and of course the car depreciates after an accident through any insurance claim. The car has always been kept in the garage and has only 32k miles on it. Needles to say, I'll never return to this Firestone. All I wanted was new tires and not to spend my valuable time running around getting estimates. Who pays for the depreciation of my car as well as my time? An update: After speaking with the regional and district manager, I was first offered $1000 and then $1600. I declined each offer. The repair was just a little over $200, not to mention the rental. I had asked the manager who had made the offers if it was common practice to note any body damage to a car that they take in. He stated yes, however, the technicians said that they had saw the damage but forgot to note it. How ironic. I went through my insurance company for the repair and they are going after Firestone for reimbursement. However this situation turns out, I continue to express to everyone that I know to avoid going to this particular Firestone if they value their automobile in any kind of way. read more

Beware of this Firestone. Nothing like the others I have used in the past. Seem to be perpetually short handed and over booked, also a bit scam oriented, tacking on extra cost for services and attempts to dodge warranty obligations. I had an appointment for 10:00 am and waited three and a half hours to get 4 new tires put on. The truck wasn't even pulled into a bay until 12:00pm. I'm back less than a week later warranty in hand due to an early morning flat, couldn't find any punctures, but they guy is trying to charge me $129.00 before he even looks to see if the tire is defective and accusing me of turning down road hazard insurance they never mentioned. I said "no thank you" and asked for my keys back. Two other customers overheard my situation and also asked for their keys - suddenly the desk guy is bending over backwards to accommodate me and offering to repair the tire without charging me "this time". I probably will buy the road hazard insurance (at $10.00 per tire for "today only" if you can believe it) but I recommend going to the Firestone near University Square Mall instead of this one. read more

Somewhat disappointed, but made up for it in other ways. I called multiple times about replacing my tires and had to change date/times repeatedly. Thankfully they were able to accommodate me and schedule me in. Each phone call I wanted to confirm the price with insurance, since they were cheaper by a little more than $100 compared to other places. With each phone call they agreed on the price they quoted me the first time. I came in, and waited an average amount of time for a tire replacement to be done. When they were almost finished, a mechanic came to me informing me that the alignment is off slightly on one tire. I was asked and told multiple times over the phone that alignment was included, however, only a diagnosis is. So I figured out why they were cheaper. Wished I knew that beforehand so I could've picked a shop that's less than 35 minutes away from me, and would've been able to got a ride home instead of waiting in the lobby for hours. They charged me $100 dollars just for a diagnosis of my engine!!! To then proceed to try and charge another $500 and some dollars for some B.S. service "to try to fix the problem". I immediately refused their service when I received this outrageous pricing and their comment over the phone was, (quoting word for word) "we cannot assure you that your car will be fixed". WHAT???Thank you Firestone! You have now helped me find an honest and decent mechanic shop that will not try to rip me off, while still saying they are uncertain they can repair the car. I recently noticed that my car battery was acting up and my Corolla was having a slow start when I put the key in the ignition. While I would normally visit the dealership for this issue, I decided to stop along my way to work at Firestone and I hoped for fast service. The service woman at the front desk explained the procedure and that they would test my car for any repairs that were needed before beginning work for $26. It was a fair deal since they ran diagnostics quickly and it was a comprehensive test. They were very open and honest, letting me know that all I needed was a battery and that my starter and alternator were fine (phew!). They gave me battery options and were not pushy at all. I had my battery changed in less than an hour and was on my way. They offer great warranties and fair pricing. I would definitely return here in the future for some of my vehicle maintenance needs! The waiting area is small but clean and comfortable. You can also see your vehicle being serviced behind the glass. I really appreciated the honesty and kindness of the staff. They readily accepted my coupon as well. YAY! read more

At Store #301184, I had never been treated with such disgust. The issue is Firestone order a part for my car. The part came in wrong and I asked the Store manager Chris to provide me with a rental car because as the customer I should not be held response to not have transportation. She proceeded to tell me she didn't have to get me a rental thus after being assertive Chris agree to get me a rental. She advised for me to go to enterprise and get a rental and she would reimburse me for the cost. Due to the local stores being closed, Chris informed me that she tried calling the airport to book a reservation through enterprise but was not able to. I was told from Chris that it must be put in my name and I would be reimbursed and on Monday (being it was a Saturday) she would transfer the rental to a local store for firestone(Bridgestone) to be billed. On Monday she realized that the airport had additional fees/charges and did not refund all of my money. This manager was aggressive as she spoke to me, yelling and screaming at me in which I had to ask her numerous times to lower her tone because she had not right to yell at me. After transferring the rental in Bridgestone name I was called the next day stating Bridgestone will no longer cover the cost of the rental and I was responsible, After she had already agreed that Bridgestone would cover the rental until the part for my vehicle came in. I then ask to speak to her Area manager name Kevin Rodgers. Kevin acted in like manner and begin to get aggressive and agreed with his store manager in not covering the rental or paying me the remaining funds that Chris agree to. This agreement was provided in writing from firestone manager Chris. I then asked Kevin to provide with corporate contact info and was denied stating the which route you back to me. Bridgestone claims to care for their customers however I was treated less than what Bridgestone claims with respect of customer are cared for. read more

I must be a glutton for punishment, but they are close by so I keep trying. Today, I went in to just get my tires rotated under my warranty, and watched three customers return after thier repairs were done poorly. One did not get thier sensors reset, one had an air hose disconnect while having repairs, and one had a under carriage guard not bolted back on. As I have had issues as well with an oil change that was not refilled and upon return they left the dip stick out, and a strut not mounted correctly, I had to say something to the manager. I asked to speak with her outside of customer ear shot and explained what I witnessed as well as my own past experiences. I indicated that I might of agreed to the additional recommended repairs but with the past history and the three recent customers return while I waited, I had no confidence in the work they do. I told her there appears to be a systemic problem with their quality. I was told that there are other repair shops I can go to... trust me, I will in the future. And, I will go to a different Firestone for my warranty as well. Buyer beware... this is not the place to take your car. read more

If you have the slightest bit of concern about your vehicle, this Firestone would not be the place to take it. On 03/16/15, I had dropped my BMW off for 4 new Bridgestone tires. I stood in the in the lobby by the front door until they drove my car into the garage. Being meticulous about my car, I know where every single scratch and or blemish is located. I returned about 2 hours later and the manager had stated that the car should be done in about 15 minutes. So, I waited outside for the technician to drive it out of the garage and park it. Wow!!! To my surprise, as he drove by, I noticed that my rear bumper was significantly dented in. Of course, I asked what happened to my car, and the response was, "I don't know, I didn't know how to fold down your mirrors." Needless to say, they are going to take care of my car; however, the value will drop because of the repair being reported to Carfax. Another, issue is that I have to take my time to get estimates. I gave my 2007 Hyundai sonata for AC check. The AC used to cool, but not super cool, so just wanted to check if it was bit low on freon or something. They inpected the car, and told me that there might be a minor leak, which would cost 129 for recharge/setvice etc. I declined. Seems to be hit or miss. I have had two wheel alignments with no issues. I like that you get a print out of the measurements. Was in and out in what seemed good time. Another time I went for a tire and was told I needed a new pressure sensor. I was told they would give it at cost. ( Which ended up being B.S. ) I asked if it needed replaced, was there nothing that could be done? I was told if I wanted it fixed, I would need to get a new one. I went with the new one to get out of there and told them I wanted the old one. After getting the old one I noticed half of two threads were broke off. I found it hard to believe that no one could fix the two threads to make it work and get the stem in. A file and the stem remover every kid that has worked on a bike should have been able to fix. The other end of the stem remover is a thread cleaner. I was able to get the stem in and out at home without fixing the threads anyway. Guess it depends on who is working at the time. read more
