Talks on his phone and smoking a cigarette stating I need to get rid of this person. The words that came out of this individual was scary and sad! The young employee stated that's George the Manager. He is always complaining about someone, this time it was Andrew the Assistant Manager!! If this is how Tire Choice operates I would rather go to Firestone. At least their the Manager and staff are very professional and not Hot Heads Like George!!! My Wife was their at the Tire Choice on Memorial Day Weekend, when she saw George get into a Fight with a Customer. In her Eyes George was going to beat Down that old man. I wish I could give this place no stars. The grown men that work at the desk, down talk you as if you don't know anything because you're a woman. Furthermore they have kids working there who take to pride or care in providing maintenance for your car. I used to only go to this shop for my oil change and tire rotation. Something as simple as an oil change and tire rotation. They stripped my lug nuts. & they broke my oil filter housing on the inside & put it back on my car. Went to shop in Mulberry, FL, not Tampa as their website says. I tried to change from Tampa, but the Tire Choice website couldn't find their store. I tried typing in city & state (no Results). I tried typing their zip code. Again No Results. You can usually judge a company's quality of service by how well they maintain their website. So no more than 3 stars here. Recently I stopped by for an oil change, but Tire Choice didn't have any oil because of "supply problems." Today they were in business. I didn't get a call when the car was ready, but then I didn't ask for that courtesy, so no problem. What was a problem was that I had to wait 20 MINUTES in the service office before the manager finally came in from the bay area to accept my payment. When I said something, I was told I should have gone into the bay and gotten someone to help. Two things wrong with that. 1. Signs definitely say no customers allowed in the work area without another employee and visitor must be wearing sunglasses. 2. Is Tire Choice so short-handed that the manager has to work on cars instead of taking care of customers? I didn't think his job was to work on vehicles and help in the office only when you can find him. I want to keep going there because it's close and the prices are fair. Came to Tampa for a visit to the hospital. Wound up getting a flat in the rental car. No tools in the car to change the tire, but I was lucky enough to get a small tire compressor as I had to add air every mile. Did I mention the rain was coming dow in buckets. Stopped by 2 nationally operated tire places and neither would help. Was told by both I had to come back the next day. Found my way to Tire Choice and they took me in and helped right away. The tire was not repairable as a bone of some sort went through the side wall. They put the spare on for me and I was on my way. You only have one chance to make a good first impression and the first 2 places failed. My wife had 4 tires replaced on her car with nitrogen filled. A couple months later she noticed the low tire pressure light had come on and she stopped to have it checked. The tire that was low had a seized cap on the tire stem and she was told they would have to replace it and gave her a price. She informed them they had replaced all the tire stems when she bought the tires a couple months previous. They asked her if she had the invoice with her and she said no, but told them they should be able to look it up on their system. They said without "her" copy of the invoice they would have to charge her for replacing it. She called me and I talked to the person in charge who was rude and condescending. He refused to tell me why he couldn't just use their system to verify the valve stems were replaced when the tires were replaced. In his most obnoxious voice told me "no invoice no free replacement". Told my wife to go ahead and pay for it and I would resolve it with corporate. When I called corporate, they indicated they would check into it and get back with me. They of course never did. I suspect since we never see anyone come back and revise their review indicating corporate resolved their issue, they too probably never got a call back and never got and resolution. If corporate or the store owner doesn't care enough to resolve a situation that should have never occurred in the first place, then why in the world would anyone expect these store managers to be concerned about customer service? They obviously know there is no recourse to fear from corporate. As far as taking forever to get your car serviced anywhere near your appointment time...that is driven by profits over customer service. When you go to say a dentist for an exam and cleaning. If they find an issue that needs to be taken care of. You will have to make another appointment and come back, because if not and they attempt to resolve it then, it will cause every appointment behind you to be off. But in tire places they are expected to upsell every customer, and when they do, it is done then...rather than at another date. So if the customer scheduled in front of you to have two tires replaced is upsold an unexpected brake job, that will cause you not to be serviced at you appointed time. Or anyone after you. Nothing more aggravating than sitting there with the previous car on the lift, with all the wheels off waiting for parts for the brake job to be delivered before they can continue. Thus transforming the previous customer's job from a 45 minute job to a 3 hour job. Well, one would think the best thing to do to get in and out on your appointed time would be to make sure you are the first customer. Really? Think about it. What do you think happened to the last customers on the previous day that were unfortunate enough not to get their late afternoon appointments met? They either left their cars overnight or were told to bring them back the following morning. Chance are they will be taken care of before you even if you were the first appointment for the day. This way of operating is intentional because the profit is more import than customer service. Why do you think a manager which is always being repeatedly described in terms of unscrupulous and rude is still working in these businesses years later? Simple, because the managers know it is not customer service complaints that will get them into hot water with corporate....it is not making the expected numbers. Both managers and corporate know the only way to make those numbers consistently month after month is at the expense of customer service. That is why like in my experience, the concern expressed by corporate or the owner, is essentially for show to fool people into thinking they actually care. After each concerned post by corporate or the owner...do you ever see a follow up by the original poster letting us know what corporate did to resolve their issue? Me neither. It doesn't matter which location, or even which tire and brake chain store you are dealing with. The experience is the same. No matter how loyal or how much money you have spent...eventually everyone will suffer at the lack of their concern for customer service...which is a direct result of the policies and incentives they have in place that drives them to upsell over making sure appointment times are kept. I suspect those who work there are pressured to upsell, and that could explain why many are complaining of be told they needed repairs they really didn't need. read more

ugh, these people will give you the biggest headache. If you really need to get an oil change, just don't expect to get your car until like maybe the end of the day. It takes forever here! Also, my husband needed nitrogen for his car. They did not even take care of the stuff that can be done real quick right away. Just to put it in his car we waited 6 hours. Doesn't make sense whatsoever. Don't think they won't upsell you bc that's their first name, and surely there will not be anything wrong with your car, but they sure will say there is. I took my car because there was a knocking noise. They recommend replacing the two front shocks. Knocking noise did not go away. Brought back 4 times and they were not able to solve my problem. Took my car to the dealership, they replace the 4 mounting bushings and solved the problem. These guys know nothing. read more

This place is terrible. I walk in with an appointment for a simple oil change and tire rotation at 9 am. They were rude like they always are. It's almost like you're an inconvenience when you walk in for service. EVERY TIME. They said it'll be an hour before they finish. They call me at 1 pm for completed service. I get back there and try to use a coupon for my service and they say "well, it's already this price because of this and these fees". Well, why is this not included up front with the coupon? The oil change service includes "inspection" which is not true. They don't look at anything because this is the only place that does NOT go over what they "inspected". It's TRULY a bait and switch operation scheme. THEN when I get to my car and it's been UNLOCKED since they parked it. I go back and tell the guy and he's dismissive of the fact I have valuables in my glove compartment. This is the 3rd time I've been there and previously with a friends vehicle. The service for this place HAS to change. The previous comments highlight the SAME man I encounter that's in the WORST mood ALL the time. read more

Each time I have come to this location, the staff seems annoyed to service your car and the line seems to be very backed up. The first time I came here, there were 3 hours left until close with about 3 cars in queue, including my own. I came in with a punctured tire and my alignment was off. While I waited in the lobby, I poured myself a cup of coffee, which was cold. After fixing my tire with an hour and a half left until close, I asked if my alignment was checked and was told no. I asked why not, and was told just to drive and come back if there are still problems. Confused and somewhat perplexed since this was definitely an issue before my tire was punctured, I left because I was basically ignored until I left. The second time I came here (in the middle of the day), I came in for a tire rotation and wiper blade change. I was told that the wait would be about 2 hours. The lobby was full of customers who asked each other if it "always takes this long for an oil change," which is a bad sign... anyway, about 3 hours into my wait, I asked about the status of my vehicle. The staff "forgot" that my vehicle was in queue, so I waited almost 4 hours for something that took 20 minutes to complete. read more

I came across them while I was shopping around for a car repair. Due to the issue with my car, I don't want to drive it around Tampa looking for places. I opted to call. The guy I spoke to was able to get a quote for me, but it was the most expensive thus far. In thanking him for his time and letting him know I will not be doing business with them, he ended our 5 minute call by abruptly hanging up in my face. I have been a longtime customer here. They are always fair, honest and timely. When I walked in today for an oil change, Peter remembered that I had been in a few months back for new brakes and, before that, new tires. (Derek's cool, too.)I have a serious commute to work and serious miles on my car. The folks at Tire Choice keep me on the road. The work my car needs is cheaper than buying a new car. I appreciate how they help me figure out what must be done now and what I can put off for a while. This location also has WiFi and a place to set up a laptop and work. I do this often if I have to stop in on weekdays. You may get a better price from a shade-tree mechanic, but these folks stand behind their work. If something is not right, I bring it back and they fix it. read more

Brought my vehicle in this morning at 9 like I was told over the phone to have some diagnostics run on it. Received a call at 2:30 saying they were done and that I could come pick it up. When I arrived at 2:50 the car was still inside the garage with the hood open. It's not 3:26 and my vehicle is still in the garage. When I asked what the hold up was I was informed they had killed my battery while running diagnostics. When I asked how much longer it was going to be, I mean they just need to jump it off, the one mechanic got short with me and said: "I'm trying to get your car running. Our charger is broken." Now there's three of them huddled around my car, they say they can't find the battery, and they can't even get it to turn over. It was running fine this morning. But now it won't start. Went to Tire Choice on Bruce B. Downs to get a "pre-insurance inspection" required when changing auto insurance. Since they open at 7:00 am, I figured I was fine going at 7:30 after dropping kids off at daycare. Politely asked "Seymour" behind the counter if he could do an insurance inspection. His response: "Yeah, at 9 o'clock I can." Me: Excuse me? Seymour: Yeah, we only do inspections from 9-5. Me: It only takes 3 seconds to walk around the car and sign the form. (I know this because I had the same inspection done here on our OTHER car the day before -- after 5pm, might I add -- and it took longer to fill out my name and address on the form than the other guy spent "inspecting" my car.) Seymour: Yeah, I'm here by myself. My other guys comes in at 9. BTW, no one else waiting, 1 other customer in the store, at least 1 other employee in the shop. Can we get creative here? Thanks a lot Tire Choice, for inconveniencing me by making me wait another 1.5 hours to get my 10 second inspection done! Will I die from this? Of course not.
