Had my brother take in his vw for wheel balance and walked out with a stripped lug bolt. They blame that's how it came out looking at the lug bolt only the tip is stripped and when I try to drive in the bolt into the hub it goes in at an angle. All I wanted was to get a hold of a manager, the kids that work behind the counter are very unprofessional, Every time I called the manager wasn't there! Been to this location several times in the last year, and each time the service I've received has been exceptional. They've contradicted the advice I've got from the local dealer, which has saved me money. They've found deals and offers for me which again, has saved me a few dollars. The work done on my car has been performed completely and thoroughly. And the staff there seem cheerful and friendly; another unexpected discovery for an auto shop. It's nice to find and automotive repair and maintenance shop that actually exceeds expectations and delivers. The staff and management of this particular location should be congratulated. I have always loved this store and have been a happy customer here for years. I have been helped by some fantastic managers such as Jackson and Ron from several years ago. But now there is a new manager named Bradley. I have received absolutely terrible service from him and I will be having my cars serviced elsewhere from now on. Last week I was told that a battery that I needed would absolutely be delivered to them by no later than noon. So I arrive at 12:30 to give them a little cushion but the battery still hasn't arrived. Ok, so things do happen so I decided to return another time. I returned today for that same battery pulse an oil change, alignment, tire rotation and wheel balance. After waiting around my car is finally ready but when I arrive they didn't do the wheel balance and couldn't have it done for another three hours. So now I have to return in two days and sit around for another hour waiting for them to do what should have been done tomorrow. read more

Called Firestone to ask if they'd do a repair on my truck tire. It was nearing the end of the day but Kimberly said to bring it in. Turns out I had a roofing nail in the outside tread. It's a big tire so it was almost 2 inches from the outside wall of the tire but they said the tire would have to be replaced....they couldn't repair something that close to the outside wall. In giving 2 starts newscasts Kimberly aired up my tire and referred some shops that might be able to do it. I caked a few who were no help at all (Tire Man and Just Tires) but ended up taking it to Grand American Tires where they repaired it and rotated my tires for free in less than 30 minutes. read more

Takes too long and wouldn't recommend coming back. I called to see if there was a wait for an oil change . They replied there wasn't any wait , and when I got there there were cars parked everywhere and time was very valuable to me at the time . A manager named Bradley insured my car will be ready in 45 ~ to an hour . Fine . Excellent I said. I return 45 minutes and my car hasn't even moved from where I parked it . . . Fantastic . I decided to walk in to show that they haven't been doing what they were suppose to. My presence made the manager realize my car hasn't been moved ... He starts yelling at he mechanic. Trust in these guys to help you out. The girlfriend and I were on our way south when our car absolutely died on us that night. After sleeping in a parking lot we got towed by AAA to Firestone, which happened to be the only place open on a Sunday. We needed a new Catalytic converter in order to get on the road again and the staff drove an hour away to get the part, and installed it all in one day for a reasonable quote. Talk about service! I have been a loyal customer of Firestone in Camarillo for a long time, love those guys. Gabriel is always honest and takes great care of my vehicles. I recently moved to Thousand Oaks, so I have tried the Firestone here a couple times. First time they tried to charge me $45 for an oil change (always below $25 in Camarillo). I just recently brought in my car for a check-up. The guy mentioned as I was walking out that it would cost $99. They never charge me in Camarillo for this but I thought it might be worth it if they can figure out the problem and fix it. They called the next day to say they can't figure out the exact problem but think that it's a transmission issue (which they cannot fix). When I went to pick up the car I was under the impression that since they didn't offer a solution or even find the exact problem that I wouldn't be charged. Instead, the mechanic thought he was doing me a favor by charging me half the price ($50). All he did was run a simple diagnostic on the car. I guess I will stick to the Firestone in Camarillo. read more

Went in to get a oil change a few weeks ago. One of the courtesy services they offer is to check the air filter. They recommended I replace it. I said I would do it myself. Now that I have the air filter I am unable to un-screw the bolts at home. PLEASE DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN SCREWS especially when I didn't bring the vehicle in for the air filter. Now I have to drive back to this facility to have them loosen the screws. read more

I had my car service 1 day ago. My light for my tires came on tonight. All my tires were at 28 so I checked out my Firestone paper.. they lowered my tires to all be at psi 30. The psi on my tires is 44 and they should be filled at 35 even my freaking cars knows. At 10am at night I had to go fill up ALL of my tires with my baby in the car (thank god it didnt cause an accident) and since I don't know how to do it anf i had to keep checking my gauge inside my car, it took me 45 minutes.. i paid over 100 for full inspection and oil change and they didn't even do it right.. wonder what else they messed up. Not feeling comfortable, very dissatisfied and very upset. read more

I called a half hour before closing for a new tire after getting a flat and the shop had no problem staying and waiting after closing for me to arrive and change out my tire. They ended up staying almost an hour and after closing fixing my car and taking off my low pros but was more than happy to make sure every thing was right before my car was done. Forgiving this briefly, I went to the "manager" and was lied to by him again, claimimg he heard what the first person said and my wife was mistaken. Lesson learned. This was my first time at this or any Firestone location and it was great! I blew a tire in the area at about 5:15pm, and on a Sunday. Of course I had a full size tire attached to my car but I drove over a nail with it recently. I called AAA for a tow to the nearest location that would repair a tire with a nail in it. The closest place was actually Pep Boys. Pep Boys closed at 6 so I called ahead to make sure they could help me out and let them know that I was coming. They answered the phone saying that even though they close at 6 they refuse to help me if I come any later then 5:45. Don't state that you close at 6 when you won't help people that come in before your "closing" time. Because of what I was driving I had to wait a little longer for a flatbed. Worried that I won't be able to find a place because it's getting late on a Sunday, I said I would try Firestone because it was the next closest option and after that it would be to late. When I called Firestone I believe Cam K answered the phone. My boyfriend and I explained are situation and it was such a relief to here him say that it was no problem and that they would take care of us. We were running later then what was expected and THEY STAYED OPEN FOR US. Wow. When we arrived Cam and Robert were there to greet us without any hostility. I have never been to an auto shop with such awesome customer service. They didn't know this but I have a trip later this week. And I have been running around like a chicken with it's head chopped doing errands, getting all my homework done for this week and next, while also picking up hours at work to pay for it all and then this happens on my way home from errands. By giving me 30 mins of there time they saved me a day which I really needed. I absolutely will be returning here, they helped me out when they didn't have to. For a place that has a big name associated with tires, you would think they would know to tighten lug nuts after they rotate tires. After we took our truck here for this service before going on vacation, we were driving when the wheel almost fell off. Fortunately, our truck did not overturn, but was not drivable, due to lug nuts now missing, and damage to the wheel. Since we were out of town at the time, we had to bring it to a local mechanic and buy a new tire, and temporary wheel, this was not cheap. When we brought the wheel back into Firestone to let them know what happened, the manager said he would look into the repair. A couple of weeks went by with no word. When we called, the manager said it was fixed and it would cost us $200. He never called to tell us how sorry he was for their negligence in the first place, but failed to even ask us for authorization to have it repaired. We have reached out to corporate, with still no resolution after nearly 2 months. We have been loyal customers of Firestone for over 20 years, even with the constant attrition of their staff. They will never have our business again. Not only was there a lack of concern for what happened, but no apologies for it, or for us having to spend a lot of money to get the truck drivable again so we could get home. They only wanted their $200 for the wheel they took upon themselves to fix without authorization. If you want to have piece of mind for the safety of you and your family while driving, I would not recommend taking your car to this Firestone. read more

I recently ordered my 4 tires online (via 3rd party website) and had them shipped directly to this Firestone. Ashley at Firestone called me promptly when the tires arrived a few days later and was quite flexible with when I could go in to get them on. I went in later that afternoon and the price the put all tires on was as quoted online (in comparison to nearby tire centers, they had the best deal). I decided to pay an extra $34 for the free rotation & balance for the life of the tires. All the staff was courteous, friendly, and professional. I agreed to a complimentary fluids check, which I admit was a test because I had just taken my car for service at my normal mechanic's place. Well I'm happy to report that they were honest and did not give me any bogus list of things I need to fix/refill "right away." My car was ready to give up. She barely started when I turned the ignition key. I figured it was either my battery, or the starter. I was in a pinch to get my car diagnosed and make it into work on time. The employees at Firestone quickly diagnosed my car, pushed it into the service garage and replaced the starter. Needed tires around Thanksgiving.Shopped many places for quality and the price out the door.You know the comments "this is our best price, however if you find a better price call us and we will match that price" So that must not be the best price!!!I called Firestone at 1100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. and talked to the Manager, Jackson.I told him I needed tires and a wheel alignment.He told me if I could wait a few days he would have Black Friday prices. I made an appointment . My total out the door cost for four premium tires were over a $100 dollars less than all the other company's I had contacted. I was treated with courtesy, the work was done quickly. My car does not restrict what type of oil I use (verified with multiple acura dealerships) because it's a 4 cylinder; yet this location telling me I must use full synthetic. Experienced some cooling system-related issues during the drive down from Seattle for vacation. Decided to come here for a cooling system flush and fill because of the convenient location to our hotel, and preference of auto repair facility over an oil change only place. Ended up just coming in on a Monday morning. They got me right in, did an excellent job for a reasonable price, and gave me a couple of maintenance recommendations with no hard pressure sell. I am sitting in the lobby area waiting for my car that was towed here yesterday. I had two flats ( long story) and I was told they didn't have the tires my car needed but would order them and my car would be ready by Monday afternoon. So I waited all day but no call from Firestone. So I called them at 3:26pm and was told by Leon that my car would be ready by 5:30pm and he would call me. 5:30pm came and went so I started calling Firestone at 6:38pm and looked in Yelp for the closing time. It said there that Firestone closed at 7pm. I then jumped in another car and drove to Firestone meanwhile calling and calling. No answer until 6:49pm when a gentleman explained to me that Leon had gone home at 5:15pm. What?! My car was not ready, Leon had gone home. What?! So Jim a new guy stayed along with a mechanic and changed the tires along with the alignment. Now that's customer service! Jim turned everything around and took the initiative to set things right. Thank you! Someone else dropped the ball and is lacking in the customer service dept. and communication with the all important paying customers. read more

During my last auto service at a Toyota dealer, I was informed I would need new brakes the next time I serviced my car. Assuming this was accurate, I went to Firestone this morning to get new brakes. My neighbor recently had good service at this shop so I decided to give them a try. The dealer had quoted $275 to change the rear or front brakes while Firestone quoted $179. Plus they had a deal for $99 this weekend. This was my first visit. Jackson, the store manager, set up the work and after his mechanic inspected my brakes, it turned out that I didn't need new brakes. Imagine my surprise! I'm so grateful Jackson and his team are honest people. He even showed me the brakes and explained have they weren't used up enough to need new ones. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone needing car servicing. In the end I just had my oil changed for $21.99. What a nice experience. I wonder if I'd gone to the Toyota dealer whether they would have just changed the brakes and never said anything. No more dealers for me. read more

CAN'T GIVE THESE FINE HONEST GENTLEMEN ENOUGH PRAISE AND GOOD WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This review is long over due, I was a customer here in the summer of 2012. I had a tripple black mustang, leather / leather wrapped steering wheel, AND MY AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT!!!!!!! This was during the major heat wave and was 110 +. They told me that they have what I believe was called an AC diagnostics check, as when the vast majority of the time when the AC is out it is either the freon low, compressor, or something called the CCRM constant control relay module, THE MAN THAT SHOULD GET PRAISE ((( NOT SURE IF HES STILL THERE ))) IS TIM!!! HE'S THE VERY HONEST INTELLIGENT AC SPECIALIST!!!!!!, they ran diagnostics and he determined it as the CCRM!! Yay I'll take that any day of the eek over a compressor as a compressor job out the door can be over $1000 +, the CCRM was about $300 :::)))), here's the point they're honest they could have told me it was the compressor when it wasn't, oh and by the way the AC diagnostic back then was $39.99 :))), my AC worked beautifully & COLD!! Keep up the good work guys!!!! ALSO I HAVE ANOTHER MUSTANG 2003 AUTOMATIC 3.8 THAT WILL NEED REAR BRAKES SOON, HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
