Best experience I've ever had at a tailor and I didn't even get anything done. *story time* Marina was recommended to me by someone at my nail salon and I take word of mouth very seriously. I went in on a Saturday to get a dress altered and she means business! Immediately she said hi, pointed me to a fitting room, and started asking questions. I loved it. Absolute professional. I walked out and she said I needed nothing done. She adjusted my straps and told me with the shoes my dress was perfect. She was honest and straightforward and I'm bringing all my clothes to her from now on. I even asked her if the straps needed to be more secure and what her opinion was of a second slit. She gave me her feedback and told me it was unnecessary when a lesser person would've taken my money. She's an expert and she's amazing. I'll be back. They pros. I brought in a Veronica Beard dress that I adored, but was too saggy up top. I have a long torso, narrow waist, and wide hips. When you have a unique silhouette, it can be hard to find clothes that fit you well. I often end up with an awkward fit, too tight on my hips to loose on my waist. Quick measurements, quick conversation, two days later, and the amazing dress fit like a glove I found the work to be top-notch and the prices more than fair for what you get. She consistently offers me great advice on how to style my suits and why I should alter them in specific ways. Marina also has a detailed understanding of modern fashion and this helps give me a strong sense of trust when it comes to her ideas and decision making. More importantly, Marina is always HONEST. I recently brought her a pair of jeans to tailor and she strongly suggested I return it instead because she thought I could find a better pair of pants that looked better on me. On a separate occasion, I brought her a suit that I had purchased at suitsupply. She immediately told me the fit of the suit was incorrect and suggested I exchange it for a different size and then she could tailor it quickly for the wedding I had to go to the next day. I brought her back the correct size at 1pm and she was generous enough to tailor my jacket in 3 hours so that I could wear it for my wedding. I've taken a few items here now & can confidently refer her. She's terrific. Located in a strip mall by my favorite Westside dim sum place(!) the parking is pretty easy. I usually tell the valet guys that I'm headed to the tailor and they let me park wherever free of charge. Her studio is small but adequate. She has a changing room and a box to stand on for pinning purposes as well as a big mirror. She accepts cash only, requires 50% payment up front- I usually just pay the full amount. She texts you when your item is ready for pickup. It's so simple and convenient to pick up and drop off. She does nice work and I plan to continue bringing my pieces to her. read more

This is a review of a service I didn't use. I went to have Marina tailor a shirt that didn't fit well after a shortening by another tailor to make it look good untucked. After pinning the shirt to show me the finished look, she advised me not to do it because the previous alterations would never allow the shirt to look as good as I wanted. Best tailor in LA. Go early if you have a hard deadline, particularly during wedding/prom season because everyone has figured out how good FCT is. She does everything expertly from gowns to jeans. I'm not sure how I feel because I got a skirt tailored and it looked nice after, but I took a favorite pair of expensive jeans to get shortened and I tried to stress that I wanted her to accurately measure so they weren't too short since you can't go back from there, and they ended up being too short. I said something about it when I tried them on there but they were like, no no it's supposed to look like that. But now I'm wearing my jeans with heels and it doesn't look good and I'm bummed. I was beyond impressed by the customer service here!! Marina was extremely friendly and informative when helping me decide how to best alter my pants. (This was my first time going to a tailor) I dropped my 3 pairs of pants off at 12pm and picked them up at 345, talk about fast service! My pants had pant leg zipper openings at the bottom cuff which wasn't not a problem to bring up and hem while keeping the zippers.
