Had the team from First Class out to my place in Normal Heights yesterday to do some major clean up on two eucalyptus trees in my backyard. The job is complicated by the fact that access to my backyard on a canyon is only by several flights of stairs. They sent 5 guys out and they worked efficiently and collectively to get the job done pretty quickly, having to haul all of the trimmings by foot up the flights of stairs to the chipper out front. I have had the trees trimmed once in the past since living in this house and can say that First Class did a MUCH better job. The trees look great and they thinned them out enough that the effort will clearly last for several years before I'll need to do it again. Jose was really easy to work with and, due to my busy schedule, I communicated almost solely through text message with him after the initial site visit, which was convenient for me. We needed to remove a large palm tree in our backyard and not being familiar with this type of service needed I called and immediately spoke to "Jose." He was prompt to answer the call and came the next day to assess our needs. Jose was on time and very courteous as well as went over all my options from trimming the palm to cutting it down. I sadly had to remove a very large ficus tree from our back yard, because of invasive roots, and I found First Class Tree Service on yelp. Based on the great reviews, I called them and Jose returned my inquiry soon after. Jose came to see the tree and while at my house, I asked about trimming a palm in our front yard, and he quoted a very reasonable price to remove the ficus, including stump grinding, and trimming the palm. I booked a date, only having to change the date, and Jose accommodated easily. Before they came, my husband and I opted to remove that palm, and after a call, Jose quickly gave me a new, again reasonable price, and we booked that service, too. The guys came out, removed both trees on the date, and at the time they said. Both trees were gone, with stumps ground in about 4 hours. They cleaned up the work site, and I was very pleased with their professionalism and kindness. They even left us 2 sections of the ficus stump, at the request of my boys, because we're all sad the tree had to go. (My husband wasn't too pleased....) We have 3 Queen Palms on the sidewalk median in front of our house. This time of year they develop and drop fruit, which becomes quite a mess and a hazard for people walking. The fronds also become unruly and in our case, when left untrimmed for too long, die, droop, and hang there...impossible to remove. The trees have grown to the point where I can no longer trim them myself. So I sent a text to First Class asking for a quote. They came by while I was a work, got back to me within a day, and had the trees trimmed few days later. Their work was impeccable, as was their cleanup. I've used other services in the past, but First Class out performed the others, and cost less. They also seem to be much more knowledgable about how to trim these specific palms. These guys are terrific. My neighbor was having a giant tree removed and this company had quite the production going on outside. I went outside and spoke with Eduardo? and he talked to his guys and they were willing to remove five giant Birds of Paradise (that were as high as the telephone lines and were on my last nerve) for around $300 less than I had been quoted from other places. I had to go to work but gave cash and came home. For reasons unknown, one the of Birds of Paradise was still posted up, chilling. I called Eduardo and we had a slight disagreement about this but within 48 hours he had come back to the house to remove the last Bird. I owed him a review.
