Ham & Gruyere Melt, broccoli/cheddar soup
    Laura W.

Prior to the last couple of visits, I had never visited First Watch for lunch, only breakfast. Lunch is a great time to visit because it's less crowded, and the menu is diverse enough to please all palates. The "two for you" is my favorite option and the portions are surprisingly large too. I've tried: -the ham and Gruyère melt (Smoked ham, tomato and melted Gruyere cheese with Dijonnaise on grilled challah bread) -the roast beef and havarti (Roast beef, Horseradish Havarti cheese, house-roasted onions and tomato with lemon-dressed arugula on grilled Parmesan-crusted sourdough. Horseradish sauce on the side) -the kale and berry salad (kale and organic mixed greens with all-natural sliced chicken breast, shredded carrots, fresh strawberries and blueberries, pecans and herbed Goat cheese tossed with lemon white balsamic dressing) -broccoli cheddar soup (this was the only item I would not order again. It wasn't hot when served) Service was friendly on both recent visits. Parking was less than desirable though due to the location in a crowded strip mall.

Warning. The pancakes are massively large so be very hungry if you order two. The banana crunch is mildly sweet but the crunch added an unique flavor. This Strawberry Tres Leche French Toast was amazing. Sweet, mild tartness from strawberries offset by flavored syrup. Two was enough to fill me up.

I've been to a few first watch locations and they all have relatively impressed me. My favorite is their kale tonic beverage but I tried their seasonal hash with spinach and mushrooms/eggs and was not pleased. The onions made the dish so bitter when eaten with spinach. I would definitely opt for something else next time. I wasn't greeted either when I entered but to be fair they were pretty busy. My food came out quickly and I had placed a to-go order so that was nice. I would say their last downfall is the lack of consistency. They didn't put utensils in my bag but they did for others when they went to grab their food.

Great place for brunch! I really enjoyed the breakfast tacos and the beverages are so good.

Friendly servers and bright clean environment. Very accommodating for kids. Tons of parking available. My husband liked his biscuits and gravy and I enjoyed the breakfast tacos (although a little heavy with the tomatoes). Definitely worth checking out and very budget friendly.

Eeek maybe it's me but I don't understand the hype with this place. Came first thing in the morning on a Saturday, luckily there was no wait. Service was outstanding, shout out to our server Christian, he couldn't have been nicer. Same with everyone that checked on us through out our meal. The food though... so mediocre. Under seasoned, lacking creativity, bland and plain. We ordered the traditional breakfast, bacon was soggy and greasy. Potatoes were bland. The BLT eggs Benedict were brought out cold- yuck! And I did not enjoy the taste at all, again so bland and the lemon flavor was so overpowering in a bad way and didn't go well with the dish. The avocado was brown. Lastly we had the carrot/pecan pancakes and those were the best out of everything ordered but again, nothing outstanding or memorable. Ambiance has nothing special, so overall we were not impressed and won't be planing on coming back.

This is a fantastic place for brunch! But I will warn you this place is BUSY on the weekends! Expect a line and to wait or get here early! Thankfully we were able to find two seats at the bar! We had a delicious brunch! We had the Floridian French toast and the chipotle chicken honey hash! Food was amazingly delicious!

Perfect brunch spot. The food was great. The atmosphere was friendly and busy. Great service as well.

Pancakes were huge but my son enjoyed it. Service was prompt and the waitress was attentive. Had 5 hungry kids with me and my bestie and the food came out fast. I couldn't tell you of the noise level because all I heard was laughter from our children which is always a good sign. Will dine here again.

What we do like about First Watch is the online ability to get on the waiting list. The waiting list gives you a guesstimate on how long your wait is. You get on the list, check in upon arrival and then very shortly you will get a text notifying you that your table is ready. Reservations cannot be made. There are a few bar seats. First Watch is a lively and happening modernly decorated eatery. The quality of the food depends on which dish you order. The Eggs Benedict BLT would have been better if the toast at the foundation of the Eggs Benedict was not hard, dry and burnt. The greens vinaigrette accompanying the Benedict is heavy on the oil and too light on the vinegar. The biscuit in the Biscuits and Gravy was light and fluffy but the gravy was bland and flavorless. JP liked his Power Wrap, which came with a bowl of fresh fruit. Service was poor and the waiter inexperienced. When I asked what the seasoning was in the potatoes, he said it was "First Watch" spices. And then I asked what was in the First Watch spices, he replied "First Watch spices". Fine, I took a pass on the potatoes. All our food came out in reasonable time, with the exception of the Bob's Red Mill Grits. Our server, without ever checking on us, brought out the check out before asking us if we wanted anything else, and before the grits came out. When I mentioned that I hadn't received my grits yet, the waiter started to make an excuse but paused and went to the kitchen to get my grits. As expected, being from Portland, OR and knowing about the high quality of Bob's Red Mill products, I found the grits perfect.

First watch definitely one of the better breakfast spots I've been to in a while. Service was a little slow but understandable by how busy this place was. Inside is a nice cozy breakfast spot. The cinnamon chip pancake is easily the best part of this meal. Sad it's a limited time item. Carnal crunch coffee was very good as well! Definitely a once in a while item for how sweet it is. Definitely the go to breakfast spot.

This First Watch had recently opened, located in the Festival at Manchester Lakes plaza. This cafe chain offers health-focused breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, which includes salads, soups, omelets, and entrees. We ordered: +the Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast - served with a signature spiced Pumpkin Pancake, two cage-free eggs, cooked in any style of one's choice, and a Jones Dairy Farm chicken sausage patty +a Chickichanga - a flour tortilla filled with whipped cage-free eggs, chicken breast, chorizo, green chiles, cheddar and monterey jack, onions, and avocado; topped with a Vera Cruz sauce and sour cream, served with a side of seasoned potatoes +and, a Project Sunrise Coffee The hubs enjoyed his platter very much, especially the pancake; I thought it was a bit too 'healthy' tasting - HA! The Chickichanga was served lukewarm, which was super disappointing; I'm thinking that this particular order was forgotten and was waiting for a bit. A pitcher of the coffee was left on our table, which was very much welcome; it was kept hot. Our server was friendly, kind, and efficient. The place was packed, and there was still a queue when we left. There's plenty of parking, but the spaces are a bit tight. +friendly service +located at the Festival at Manchester Lakes +parking available in large plaza lot

Pick two - 1/2 havarti roast beef sandwich and 1/2 chicken avocado chopped salad

It's been years since I've eaten at First Watch, so was happy to check out this new-ish location. I visited on a Sunday around lunch time, and it was BUSY! Thankfully, I added myself to the convenient waitlist on their website. The waitlist gave us as estimated 45-60 min wait, so I was able to run errands during this time. Once I arrived at the restaurant, I checked in with the hostess, and was seated within 5-10 mins. The nice thing about waiting is First Watch offers a complimentary water and coffee station, so waiting is much more pleasant. As for the food, I really enjoyed my roast beef and havarti sandwich. I thought the chicken chopped salad was ok - a little bland. My husband enjoyed his trifecta. The eggs were perfectly scrambled! Service was good. Servers and the hostess were polite and fast. Any time I needed something, the server and hostess were quick to help. I would definitely return - First Watch is a great breakfast and lunch spot!

He was in the mood for Lahmacun (sounds like Lahamajoun) super thin, crispy pizza topped with a mixture of minced meat with peppers, tomato, herbs, and spices. More fine, light, and delicate than the typical American thin pizza. The service, drinks, and food were beyond stellar in Narman. We felt like the only customers there and were waited on by many staff. The highlight of the day there was their pizza and their beverage presentation and flavors. We came on a weekday night and were the only people there in the end. My husband was impressed at how upscale the restaurant was and it was the finest Turkish restaurant he ever visited. He said it was similar to the hotel dining place he lived at in Turkey. This was our first restaurant in downtown Alexandria and one of our best experiences in Alexandria. The Lahmacun was the finest Turkish pizza my husband ever had. He ordered three of them! Each pizza was served on a large wood board with extra toppings on the side like lemon wedges, cilantro, and onions. They are so fine and thin that you can roll them up to eat. We had to put some of the last pizza aside for take out. I ate the takeout piece and was very impressed how delicious it was after being in the fridge overnight & re-heated. I loved the flavors of the Lahmacun and I don't even care for pizza that much. It is my most preferred pizza in my life ever next to the Crazy Ex in The Thirsty Goat in Clarksville, Tennessee. I ordered a Turkish dish with a rich and ancient history, Hunkar Begendi, or "Sultan's Delight." It dates back several centuries, and it was prepared for the sultans and high-ranking officials, and was served during special occasions and celebrations. The Hunkar Begendi had lamb and velvet soft eggplant with spices. I ordered it with a side of rice. It was very delicious and unique. Yet the Lahmacun despite its simplicity stole the show and cost 1/3 of the price of the Hunkar Begendi. For my beverage, I ordered The Elma. It has a stunning presentation in a smoke filled glass box. The Elma is a beverage with Bourbon, Peach liquor, vanilla maple, Apple butter,Lemon juice, and Apple cider. You have to watch the videos of how it is presented at the table. At the end of our dinner, they played happy birthday and surprised my husband with an ice cream and pumpkin dessert with a candle. So wonderful & heartfelt. It was a fascinating and flavorful dish. The pumpkin tasted like sweet potato & was different. This is a must see place for Turkish cuisine and the finest restaurant service. Prices are low to fair for such high quality food and service. Five Stars.

All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!
