Some friends and I dined here recently. It was a last-minute decision after the place that they originally wanted to dine at was full with a 45 min wait. Glad this place was nearby with no wait. We were able to be seated immediately and our server came right away. They took all of our orders and the food came out in a reasonable about of time. There were several items that we requested that the server initially forgot to bring (e.g. mustard, orange juice, etc.) but eventually it was all corrected. For the most part we enjoyed our meal and don't have any real complaints. I would dine here again. read more

Like many others, We've been looking forward to First Watch opening up in the Manchester Lakes shopping center for ever! When the restaurant first opened up, it was nearly impossible to get a table on a weekend for people who like to sleep in like us lol but to be fair we only tried online and not in person. I recall our first visit being our best visit. We came by in early July and the food was delicious. Our sever was a bit slow but the food made up for it, however all the following visits since are nothing to write home about. The second time around our food took forever to come out and was not good; I tried the breakfast sandwich and it was terrible. Another time, I asked for scrabbled eggs and was served an over easy egg and the server forgot our drinks. When we reminded him, he wanted to know if we still wanted them because we had finished our food already.... I hope that they can work on their kinks and serve their clients better because the restaurant is a great addition to the neighborhood and keep the menu interesting. Went here around 10AM (in April) for some carry out. It wasn't immediately clear but the lady at the check out station took my order. We ordered a "Superfood" Kale Salad, 1/2 sandwhich (monterey club) 1/2 salad (sweet honey pecan) and an order of the million dollar bacon. The waiting area is small, there is seating but you're likely sitting right next to someone if there's more than 2 other people waiting (there were when I got there). Being right next to the check out station didn't help the crowded feeling. That said, the food came up super fast despite it being really busy, frankly I have gotten slower service at some fast food restaurants. They also had a rack for already made ahead/paid orders so you could just come and get your stuff when ready (I never have fully understood that concept because I feel anyone can come take anyones food but it's not unique to here and nothing to do with my rating so moving on). Did a quick bag check then headed home. On unpack, we discovered (pretty sure) that we were shorted the kale salad. I was tricked on the bag check because (we are pretty sure) the sweet honey pecan salad had the salad part and the sweet part seperated (for "crispness", I've seen other restaurants do this too, it's a good idea). So what I thought in the restaurant was 4 items, was just 3 items. It did somewhat explain the smallness of the salad. It sadly may also have explained how they got it to us so fast...they got it to us wrong. The sandwhich was ok, it was about the equivalent of Panera which I think is a bit cheaper and I think maybe a little bigger (3*s). The salad we got was very sweet (if the pecan salad as we think that is as advertised) borderline dessert salad. I didn't dislike it but I am not sure I'd get it again unless I wanted something that sweet (2.5*s). The million dollar bacon was good but not sure if worth the $7 price tag (4 pieces of bacon) - 3*s. It is worth noting, I asked for no avacado (I find it hit or miss) and they got this right. All that said, I might go back there I might not. There arn't a ton of fancier brunch spots around there that I know of but there is an IHOP right there and it's reliable and the food is good and cheaper. And as far as sandwhich/salad quality there's a Panera and a Chopt up the street. At the end of the day if you're going to elevate a place have food that's elevated. I didn't feel this place did, maybe it was just what I ordered. But I wasn't upset at what I ate either (except the missing bit). Two of the yelp guiding questions before I left this review were interesting to me as well, so sharing more detail: * Is it intimate: I assume this is sort of asking would I take a date there. I said no but I would take a date there but it was so busy and open that I didn't find it intimate. * Do they have non-plastic containers: I said yes but at least the lid to the 1/2 salad was plastic so your milage may vary depending on what you've ordered. read more

So I'm giving a larger rating based on food honestly! I love first watch breakfast and literally could go multiple times a week and order different things on the menu. Today's review will be based on a family experience this morning with my husband and my newborn. We arrived a little before 10am and the hostess told us wait times are 45 minutes BUT everyone is being seated within 15 minutes. Cool we're game to wait. Well that was far from the truth there's groups coming in by the boatload and being seated before us multiple times. I ask the hostess and she says they did the wait in line option on the phone which pretty much allows you to wait for 45 minutes from home and then come in the restaurant and get moved to the front of the line. I think this business practice is crazy !! I thank goodness I fed my son right before leaving the house we waited 45 minutes and what we thought would be a quick grab of breakfast before running some errands turned into a 4 hour day! I typically just sit at the bar so I can blame that for my arrogance to the situation. However the bright side all food was awesome and our waitress was very kind and prompt. read more

First Watch might have decent food, but the online ordering is consistently unavailable. Every time I try to place an order, it either won't let me or shows the restaurant "opening at 7 PM," which makes no sense for a breakfast place. It's frustrating and unreliable, and the service around online orders really needs improvement. Until they fix this, it's hard to recommend for anyone who wants a convenient pickup experience. read more

The waffle was nice and light. The server was nice. The eggs were overpowered by a ton of parsley. It was difficult to take it off as there was so much. The french toast was not good at all. It was not soaked enough with the egg so the inside was plain bread and the outside was overcooked making it extremely dry. As someone who has been making challah French toast for years it's necessary to soak the eggs into the bread for it to taste correctly. Even my kids have cooked better French toast. The fruit looked like it sat a long time cut open so not fresh looking that no one wanted to eat it. read more

Super excited they opened this location as it's so close to home. Stopped by with my daughter yesterday to try it out, even though it was busy, we got seated right away. Our server asked for our drinks instantly and brought them out. The food was delicious and very flavorful. The only thing would be that our server forgot about us for the rest of our time there until he brought the check & didn't offer any to go boxes. Greeting upon entry. Seated within a minute. My server arrived within 5 minutes of being seated just enough time to look over the menu. The coffee was hot and good. Coffee was complimentary during opening week. The frittata rustica was delicious. I received a gluten free toast instead of the regular ciabatta as requested. However, they did forget to include the jelly/jam with the toast. Do note that if it's a preference they use the same toaster. But, if it's an allergy they toast it separately on the pan. Stopped in today for brunch with a friend who hadn't visited before. We both ordered the traditional breakfast and asked for "crispy" bacon. The bacon was not crispy (undercooked) and very greasy! The server never returned to check on us after our food came, as we required additional items (mustard, more napkins) and wanted to point out that the bacon was undercooked. We waited over 15 minutes for our server and eventually had to notify management. The manager apologized profusely and discounted our meal by 20%, plus they gave us a discount card to use towards a future visit. The restaurant was somewhat clean and the lighting was good but I noticed food stains splattered on the sun screen against the window where we were seated. We left feeling disappointed because the experience could have been so much better. :-( read more

I ordered a blueberry pancake and an all American breakfast - 1st visit. 2nd visit is the waffle with eggs and bacon. My food came to the table piping hot and is fresh. The pancake covers the whole plate. I had leftovers. The 1st time I came in the bill arrived right after the food came which I did not appreciate. Let me eat. I did not expect this place to be so busy at lunchtime on Friday! We arrived at around 11:30 a.m., and there was a 30-minute wait for a table of 2. Inside has a mix of booths and regular tables, along with some bar seating. The space is not huge but management has tried to squeeze in as many tables as possible to accommodate demand. Noise levels were high with a full dining room, but I was still able to hear my dining companion just fine. Service is very pleasant! One thing we appreciated was that they fill and place an entire carafe of coffee on the table if anybody orders coffee, so diners can refill as they please rather than waiting on the staff for a refill, which is also helpful given how cramped the tables can appear. Food: 1. Purple haze mocktail; Tasted mostly of lemonade 2. Coffee: Tasted like coffee from a boutique coffee shop, definitely an upgrade from typical diner drip coffee 3. French toast: The berry compote was very good and the syrup is served from a vessel that's kept warm in the kitchen! French toast was just OK, I would not order this again 4. They only serve breakfast and lunch, and they do it well. There's something yummy for everyone. I've seen people complain that it's basic. Nothing wrong with that - I know that whatever I get will be consistently good regardless of which of their restaurants I go to. That's a good thing, since they seem to be rapidly expanding. It also meets my requirement for early breakfast hours. They open at 7 am, not 8 or 9 like some places. It's ideal for a breakfast date spot for before work. Gotta love that. read more

Damn I really want to like this place. Springfield in general severely lacks a good breakfast place (and no, Silver Diner is not awesome). Prices are moderate if not a little on the higher side. But my biggest gripe is, Ya'll cannot poach an egg to save your life! Ordered eggs Benedict. First set of eggs were medium hard. Second set of eggs, one proper poached, one hard boiled (I'm not sure how that happened if they were cooked together) finally I just requested a sunny side up egg because I figured they couldn't mess that up. Don't put Benedicts on the menu if kitchen can't poach an egg. Or do what Silver Diner does and default to sunny side up and not bother with poaching. Sigh read more

We got there pretty early on weekday. Not too busy at that time so we got extra attention from the staff. It's always a nice touch when people take the time to give extra service when it's slow instead of hiding in the back. Everyone was super kind. We ordered Million Dollar everything. I guess that's any dish with their bacon. Meal was good. Bloody Mary was taste as well. Syrup and bacon, can't go wrong. As it started getting busy, more staff came in.
