    Chicken sausage and eggs

Very okay experience! The staff is very kind and the food is decent but a little pricey. The chicken sausage is very thin and the loaded Belgian waffle wasn't as "loaded" as I imagined but it was still a good fluffy waffle. I also didn't care for their mashed potatoes.

For this location, there is plenty of parking; and the restaurant is huge. It has plenty of seating areas; and the inside is decorated nicely. The food was delicious. The server was OK...

Decent diner, I was just too hungover to enjoy it. Omelettes were great and their sausage was just what I needed. Their fountain coke revived me and was perfectly carbonated. Great spot to pop in and have some breakfast.

The food never disappoints whenever I'm in the area and the service is always great. The ambiance and energy are light and welcoming. One of my favorites. The chicken's marinade surely made my day. I also had the New England Clam Chowder which was delicious, as well.

Executive is a fallback option of ours for brunch or dinner when nothing else around seems right for the moment. We've been coming here for a long long time. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Service has improved the past year or two. Before, service could be hit or miss. Executive Diner is good about letting you make substitutions. One of my favorite items is the grilled cheese with bacon sandwich. I do have them hold the tomatoes, because those are a bit much on the sandwich. I enjoy breakfast here, they have especially good bacon. However I'm not a fan of their home fries, which are hefty chunks of sliced potato with a few pieces of red and bell pepper. The good news is that the home fries do not automatically come with breakfast, you can get fruit or grits instead. And instead of toast, you can get a biscuit. There is one item I deem "not recommended" and that is their side garlic bread. I see the garlic and some oregano, but all I taste is some seasoning I've never had before and it tastes like somebody ground up flower petals and seasoned the bread with it. Just awful! Final thought: I'm not sure how that kooky layout of the men's room came to be.

I don't know how I have not reviewed this place yet because I've been here so many times. I don't usually have to wait because service is pretty quick, the only times I think that you would have to wait is a Sunday morning for breakfast rush because a lot of people from the church next-door come over. The portions are big. The quality of the food is great and the prices are pretty reasonable for the area. Their French onion soup is massive in one of my favorite things here. I also love their burger and club sandwich. I will say that the consistency for their pancakes is hit or miss, sometimes they're really fluffy and light and other times they're really dense and dry. I wouldn't recommend coming later at night because I did a few times and they were cleaning the floors and there was a horrible bleach smell throughout the restaurant and it definitely turned me off from wanting to eat my food.

I've been here once before but I think it was before Covid, so it was time to try again. The breakfast bowl with the jalapeño sausage sounded tasty and it was. I did need to add some spices and ketchup but otherwise I was happy. I'd come here again and try other food.

Came on Monday 7/29 after our original breakfast choice was closed. It was around 1130-12pm and the restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated immediately but it took some time to be waited on. Not even so much as a "someone will be with you shortly" or anything similar. Due to this delay we were ready to order once our waiter did arrive since we had time to go over the menu. We ordered: Shrimp and grits - 9/10 - the grits weren't cooked all the way so there were some bits in it but overall the dish was good. The sauce had great flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Grilled cheese added bacon- my friends dish - said it was decent enough as it's hard to mess up a classic. Once we got our food, similar to my last experience, our waitress just disappeared. I mean we literally didn't know where she was for about 30mins, even after we'd eaten our food and were ready to leave we couldn't find her. I don't understand how you disappear from people, especially after getting their meals without a check in or anything. I won't come back just off that alone, something about that level of inattentiveness is off putting for me. Food will be decent but service seems to be lacking here.

Diner me baby! Love, love trying new places. Especially ones that people rave about. This place is located right next to a church so I anticipated it being packed but we got a table with no wait. I ordered the chicken and waffle. I love a light waffle but this one was heavy, although good! The egg was made perfect. My friend got the smoked salmon Benedict which looked amazing. Coffee was so good! Definitely a cool little diner. I'm sure I'll return!

Went here yesterday and honestly a solid experience. Server was knowledgeable. I didn't like that I had to ask for my food after I saw at least two people who ordered after me receive theirs but our food still came out hot so no real complaints. Manager even assisted with the table. Adequate parking and reasonable prices.

All of our eggs were cooked to perfection, the hash browns had the perfect crisp, and most notably - their fries?! That crunch and potato/batter ratio was chef's kiss! Note: you can sub the salad for fruits which we both did for our Benedicts, pic not shown I would love to give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, the service was quite slow. I ran out of water so I tried to catch the eye of every single staff member there, raising my hand, and absolutely no one looked my way. Our server eventually brought food to the table next to us so I was able to flag her down. Other than that, the place was cute and I'd come again!

For example, yesterday, I had their Peter's Special, a sandwich made from 1/2 lb of pastrami and 1/2 lb of corned beef. Except that it's not "a" sandwich, but three, all on delicious rye bread, each with its own pickle, and a small helping of slaw, sauerkraut, and a major pile of salad. It was my lunch yesterday; the remaining two sandwiches are my lunch today and tomorrow. That's three meals for $30, which, to me, is a reasonable price. The problem was that the more they do to create the food, the less flavorful it is. For example, on another recent visit, I had their Country Style Omelet. Again, it was huge and contained everything that goes into a great omelet. Except, there wasn't a lot of flavor. And that seems to be the theme. I grabbed a slice of their 24-layer cake and, again, big but not much taste beyond sweetness. If you crave a lot of food, then this might be the spot for you. However, if you prefer less and more, smaller portions with better, more nuanced flavor, then maybe try one of the other nearby restaurants.

My train's departure wasn't until 7:15 a.m. and at 5:45 a.m. the Lyft driver dropped me off at the Amtrak station, which is not open until 6 a.m. With at least an hour of waiting time, I headed a block down King Street to see what breakfast was like at Bob & Edith's Diner, located at 1743 King St, Alexandria, VA 22314. This early in the morning, the sidewalks and streets were pretty much empty, save for one of those large tourist buses that was parked in front of the restaurant, empty. I'm guessing the only customer in the restaurant other than me was the bus operator, busy reading a newspaper over coffee. My goal was to order a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a Philly sub roll ($9.99) to take with me on the train. The menu - featuring all manner of comfort food for any meal - was impressive. The dining area and restrooms were clean and spacious; service was attentive without being intrusive, and noise levels were low enough to allow inside-voice conversations. The sandwich was wrapped to go and smelled heavenly at 6 a.m. After boarding my train I headed to the café car, bought an orange juice, and sat down to eat the sandwich. Still warm, the meal was perfect! I've lived in Alexandria for about 15 years, and this is the first time I'd visited Bob & Edith's Diner under its current management. There are enough menu variations that I likely will make this a go-to stop for my train travel. Well done!

Highlights from breakfast were the fluffy brioche French toast and garden omelette. Did you know they make their bread in house? That French toast was the thickest I've ever had. So delicious! Great Food, Vine & Customer Service!…read more I stopped in here for a quick bite with a friend before heading to an eye doctor appointment next door. I must say I really like the vibe of this place. Beeline Diner is one of diners that are retro-cool and has a neighborhood feel to it. It's very popular with the locals and folks that live around the area. I couldn't help but noticed how friendly the staff was and seemed to know their regular patrons. That's a great plus, in my book. The menu is loaded with lots of great options and your comfort food classics...including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. On this day, we tried the chicken & waffles and steak omelette. Both more delicious and was served fairly quick! The portions were great too definitely enough food to share. The check was tender, juicy and most of all.....seasoned!! lol The waffles were pretty standard on taste but I would say they fluffy and light. The steak omelette did not disappoint either. It was loaded with sirloin steak, cheese and onions! Every lift of my fork left me with bits of steak bites! My kind of meal for sure!!! The only negative about this dish is that the steak is not made to order or cooked to your preference (I.e. medium, medium rare, well done, etc.). Instead the steak it's already pre-cooked and I was told by the server that it is roughly around, medium-well. That might be okay for some, but I prefer my steak month medium side. Medium-well makes this dish and steak overcooked by the time it's delivered to you. This was the case for me. The sirloin steak was a bit on the tough side...as know as chewy. lol Other than this, I have nothing but great things to say about my first visit to this establishment. The customer service was on point and everyone was so friendly. This!...& the Chicken n' Waffles dish won me over. We left pretty full and satisfied....which was a little disappointing because the desserts in the display cases looked amazing and I really wanted to dive-in on one of them! In all, you can't go wrong with Beeline Diner. The food hits the spot and the price point is great too. I recommend and looking forward to coming back to try some of the other plethora of dishes they serve! :-)
