I love that I can get waffles, pancakes or French toast most brunch places only offer one and my kids never agree so that's nice. Prices are fair- a coffee & entree with tip is about 20ish. Service was pretty good, food was consistent from other locations I've been to. My purple haze was nice and pretty it was recommended. I had to mix my grits with the eggs to warm them up to be edible. While we were in the middle of eating, the waitress brought our check. My farmhouse hash was swimming in grease -- something I've never experienced at a first watch. My eggs were undercooked too -- over easy doesn't mean snotty gelatinous egg whites. Everyone deserves a second chance, but first impressions make them more difficult. I decided to head to FW in Annapolis to enjoy lunch with a colleague. It had been a while since we caught up, but we were both on a schedule as it was the middle of the work week. When we arrived, the vibe was more of an upscale Cracker Barrel than I had expected from the First Watch chain. Though the facility has not been open for more than 18 months (which is even a stretch), the facility felt tired already, and the staff lacked any enthusiasm. We were seated almost immediately and left with our menus, no water, and no idea of what would happen next. That foreshadowed what was not to come, also known as a waiter (or waitress). After about 7 minutes of trying to get someone's attention to no avail, we assumed they had reached their service capacity for the day. We stood up and walked to the front door, where the hostess politely said, "I hope you enjoyed your meal, have a nice day." My colleague and I laughed under our breath and headed down to another of the various dining options in the center. I will try to give First Watch another chance in the future, but the two I have visited in Anne Arundel County have left me questioning why I keep trying. read more

I did like the fact that you can join the waitlist online before you even get to the restaurant. We still arrived a bit early and waited in the lobby for our turn. They have big signs showing off the menu and how to browse the menu online, which was what we did while we waited. We had a good idea of the drinks we wanted to order and a few good options from the seasonal menu before we even sat down. We were seated and ordered our drinks, but then we were told the restaurant doesn't even have their liquor license yet. So no drinks. We order a seasonal pancake for the table, but then we were told none of the seasonal menu items are available at this location. Browsing the online menu, you even had to specify which location you were dining in. And everything is wrong? So we ordered what they did have available, and then we waited. And waited. And reminded our server about our pancake for the table.. it comes out not warm and not fluffy. it was hard and crispy. And then another person comes by with a pancake asking if we ordered one. That one looked more fluffy. The wait staff might need more training as well. We didn't get any small plates with our appetizer. We also had to ask our server FOUR TIMES for extra napkins. read more

I've been to several First Watch locations but it's been a while and this was my friar time going to the one in Annapolis so i figured I would do a review. Location is good bc there is ample parking and for a Saturday the wait wasn't too bad. Full disclosure I was on a date so I had to be on my best behavior. Cleanliness was a 10 as well as the service. I had the traditional breakfast. It was pretty good. I had no complaints. My date has the million dollar bacon, blueberry pancakes, and a side of grits and a side of potatoes. Clearly he eats a lot. His only complaint was the syrup wasn't thick enough for the size and thickness of the pancakes. Other than that everything was good to him. Definitely recommend and would gladly go again. read more

Ok I read the reviews plus first hand from someone that goes to this location of first watch. I have to say that we were seated pretty fast and the waitress continued to come by the table to check if we were ready to order. Once we ordered, it wasn't to long that we got our food which was really good. The waitress still would come around to make sure everything was ok and ask if there was anything she could get for us. On top of the food being real good and the service being out standing I would say this place needs a come back for sure. read more

Ate there 10/20/23 for lunch. While food was good, and service was fine there were some issues. Particularly, the background music was extremely loud. I am a rock n roll fan in my early 60's so I can deal with most anything. However, the clientele at the time was predominantly 70 + years old. My 90 year old mother asked both the hostess and the waiter to please lower the music. Both smiled and gave a corporate smile yet did nothing. I could tell other tables were not happy with the loud music as they had to shout in order to converse with their friends. Having been to the Glen Burnie location more times than I could count, I was excited when this location opened up in Annapolis since it's close to home. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. Service is generally good if you get the right person. The menu is creative and fresh. Having been in the restaurant industry myself for a number of years, I know the potential to make things right again is there. Between declining service over the past few visits and my biscuits and gravy being made with Italian-style Turkey sausage, we may be done with First Watch for a while. read more

Not my first time there. Food takes awhile to come out. My first 2 times decent server food took awhile to come out at least it was Warm to Hot. This last time it took even longer to come out and it was cold not even warm. I Blame management. I watched my food sit up on the pick window at least 5 minutes almost ask the server if the could check on it But she seemed busy. They have a really good menu , But I Do Not Recommend going to this location unless you have Time to waste and Like cold breakfast. I give 2 Stars because it was clean and has good menu items. I went in for breakfast the other day and I was running late, so the person I was meeting was suddenly in a rush. I was actually wanting a kale tonic, but did not see my server yet. The manager, Santos, saw that I was looking for someone, and he came over to the table and actually gave me a complementary kale Tonic! It made my entire day. He had no idea how I wasn't feeling well that morning. I am super grateful for his hospitality, and on top of that the food is amazing. I have been a few times before. We tried First Watch for the first time on December 12- It was a Monday, and we showed up around 10:30a. The restaurant didn't appear overly busy, and we were seated promptly. The server brought us our coffee and took our orders. Unfortunately after waiting for over an hour from the time we placed out orders for our food to arrive with no further visits from our server the two of us decided to leave, at which point we notified the maitre d' that we were leaving, and went somewhere else. It appeared that other people in our section were having the same experience- in retrospect we dont recall seeing anyone else in our section receive their food orders during the time we waited, a lot of them also appeared restless and annoyed- we were commiserating with the table next to us and trying to decide how long it is polite and appropriate to wait before giving up and leaving. I dont know if they had a situation in the kitchen or what, but it wasnt what we would expect from a well-run business- if there was a problem, better communication with the patrons could have helped assuage concerns but sitting at our table twiddling our thumbs for an hour with no food and no check-in from our server was a bad look. Maybe we'll give them another shot one of these days, but i dont have high confidence having read the reviews from others with similar experiences. read more

I write this review as a huge fan of Iron Rooster and Cracker Barrel. I love breakfast joints and diners. First Watch is superb! The service is great, the food is spectacular and the atmosphere is homey. You will wait :30 minutes or so, but I've been told you can check in on their app :15 prior to arrival for a reservation and they will then text you, so you can shave :15 off that wait time. The quality and portion size of the menu items is legit as is the value. My suggestion is run don't walk to First Watch and you'll thank me later. Blackberry iced tea is off the chain. Another 10 minutes go by and watching them sit an additional 7 party's before us. Apparently, walk in customers have to wait longer than customers that check in online. There were several large groups bridal and graduation observed - easily being accommodated. We sat in comfy oversized booths with window views. It was a good bit before anyone approached us - no water, no Hi, I'll be right back. John eventually showed and took our drink order.. there were zero pleasantries involved.
