What a breath of fresh air! It is a lovely place and has some great food, the coffee is delicious and has a great background of where it is sourced. I had the avocado toast with basted eggs and my husband had the skillet and they were both delicious, the ingredients are so fresh and great quality and the portions are just right. The feel of the place is quaint and very clean, they have fresh juice made on site. Do yourself a favor and go! This is our first visit to this restaurant. Walked in right at 7 am as they were opening the door. Food was very tasty, not very hot i think the plates were cold when they put our eggs on them. We were told the wait was 15 but we waited 45 minutes. People who came after us were getting sat before us. There were six tables that could have been cleaned for the next guest but instead sat there for 45 minutes unoccupied and not cleaned. When we asked the host they said the kitchen was behind but food was coming out pretty quick after people sat down.... So we knew this wasn't true. Once we sat down, a server didn't reach us until about 15 - 20 minutes later to get out drink order. Two tables next to us got sat down after we did and got their drinks and food sooner than us. The entire time we didn't throw a stink about any of this but it honestly just wasn't right so here's the review. Other locations we've gone to do a lot better than this. I would say this location needs to step it up because the other locations are soaring with how efficient they are and kind versus this location. On top of this I advised the server I wanted my eggs completely cooked because I'm pregnant. He seemed to understand this but the eggs weren't cooked when they came out. They were runny. I found this to be pretty unacceptable. I didn't complain when he came back the one time to check on us. Instead I said everything was fine but it wasn't. But then he asked us if we were paying together or separate. We had only gotten our food for about 10-15 minutes long and now he was asking how we were gonna pay.....all in all I still think this location needs work. read more

This is a great new brunch spot in Aurora. The restaurant is a modern, streamlinedlarge open space that is very pleasant. A waitress did not come to our table immediately so we flagged one down. She said this was not her table but she was happy to help us. She took our order right then. The food is wonderful. I had the chickichanga and it was delicious. Large chunks of chicken, cheese, egg, avacado and peppers rolled up inside a grilled tortilla. And the Vera Cruz sauce they put over the top is amazing. My friend had the lemon riccota pancakes and they were superb. I don't normally drink iced coffee but I decided to try it. I was very rich and creamy and just sweet enough. I am not too sure how to review this restaurant. My girlfriend and I showed up around 1100 and was seated really quickly. We had no idea what we wanted and had to ask the waiter for some ideas. We sat there and discussed the dishes between us (GF and I) and decided to get the Chickichanga and the Farmhouse Hash. The waiter stated that the dishes we picked were pretty good choices. After a few minutes, our entree's showed up. My changa was missing something, not an actual ingredient wise but it could have been hotter. The Vera Cruz did taste well, but I would next time order extra sauce. It was enough to entice, but made you want more of it. I would ask for a little bit more seasoning on the chicken, but chicken can be hard to season overall. Maybe a dash of the potato seasoning on the chicken would bring the dish up a notch. The GF dish was a lot better than mine. The overall taste of the dish had more flavor to it. With almost the same ingredients as mine. Maybe the chef decided to leave double tap the seasoning with the hash dish and only single tapped with the changa. It is hard to describe, but I would totally do the hash dish if we went back to the restaurant. So the reason why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the service. About half way through our meal, our server came by and asked if everything was good and dropped off the check. We replied everything was good but that was the last time we saw our server. I ran out of water just after that and had to drink the GF water, which lucky she still had some. And both of us agreed that the water had a funky taste to it. Like it was unfiltered water. Would have asked for a refill or a lemon slice for the water but Oh yeah, we didn't see the waiter again. Delicious, delicious, delicious! We came here for brunch and had a 45 min wait, which wasn't terrible. They have a text system, so we walked over and shopped a bit at TJ maxx while waiting. The service was great and the server recommended some of her favorite dishes to us (which we opted to get). We got an egg sandwich, lemon ricotta pancakes (the best!!) and chili chorizo omelet. The dishes all balanced each other out, were big serving sizes and definitely satisfied all our palettes. A 20-30 min wait turned into a 40 min wait for a table cause the hostess input my phone number wrong. Then it was an 1hr wait for food. Next time have your hostess tell customers ahead of time if the food is going to be a long wait too. If I knew I'd have to wait nearly 2hrs to eat, I wouldn't have put my name down for a table. Awesome spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. This place is poppin' so make sure you don't get there too hungry. Thankfully, they have a text service to let you know when your table is ready. Used to be our go-to... after today, I'm not so sure. We went today the wait online was listed at 30-40 minutes. We checked in and were told the wait was an hour.... no big deal. We decided to order online for take out. We order Ana are given an estimated wait time of about 25 minutes (12:04pm). We wait In our car And go in around 12:05 to pick up. The hostess tells me they're "running a little behind" and that I can sit in the lobby and wait. I Ask her if she knows about how long it will be before food is ready she says no because they take their orders in the order they receive them.... (OBVIOUSLY????) I asked her kindly to check with the kitchen so that I don't have to wait in my car and be super close to other people waiting in the lobby. She walks to the kitchen ans comes back and says it will be another 20 minutes she was super reluctant to check in with the kitchen for me so I honestly doubt she even asked. After waiting 20 more minutes we go in to the restaurant once again and ask if our food is ready and the hostess disappears from the desk and send a manager to let us know that it would be 30 to 40 more minutes before our food is done. I honestly wish I was exaggerating to make myself feel better.... but these are actual events/times. After waiting over an hour and a half, we asked to cancel the order. The manager tells us they can't refund us in store an that we need to do it online and won't be refunded until 5-7 days have passed. Just..... a mess. I worked many years in food service/hospitality and I understand that restaurant to do get busy so I always try to take it easy on staff but I just feel like this situation was handled ridiculously and could've been avoided if they are online wait time/food order time was accurate to begin with. My wife and I were sitting outside on the patio waiting to be served. There was a guest on the patio with a dog (which we have no issue with). While waiting for our order to arrive, as the waitress served the table with the dog she also brought out an over easy egg on a plate to provide the dog. She then commences to break up the egg in her hand and allow the dog to both eat out of her hand and off the plate - which I assume is the same plate guests eat off of. We didn't mind the courtesy extended to the dog, but it is also not sanitary to pet or feed a dog while handling guest food. In addition, the dog was an Irish wolfhound (female) that with her height, slobbered on the table as she stood by her owner. As the staff cleaned the table it wasn't properly sanitized as that rag which now has dog saliva (which is known for bacteria) will be used on multiple tables. As we checked out the staff member (a male) asked how things were which struck us because as many times as we have dined at First Watch in multiple cities we have never been asked this question as service has been good. I assume the manager of the restaurant- a woman - then asked the guy (the staff member we were talking to) what happened and he explained what is stated above. He also stated that this practice is unsanitary and not protocol as staff are not supposed to feed animals. The manager then jumps in the conversation and says that is not against protocols when seated outside on the patio. She then turns to me and says her wait staff member scrubbed her hands before serving us in a very rude and unprofessional/dismissive manner. I then responded that we as guests don't know that is the case considering they (two women servers) petted the dog multiple times - in fact so many times they never came to check on our table once served - in addition to feeding the dog. They habitually kept going to the dog. We took video of this incident (the staff feeding the dog) and we're going to send to the city to of Aurora as well as post on Google and Yelp. We initially told the guy we would delete it as he properly responded. However, when the manager rudely jumped in and devalued our feedback and dismissed us as guests by saying "it's not a problem and waving us off" I decided to reach out to corporate as this is by far unacceptable. I do hope to hear from someone at the corporate level to explain the policy of wait staff and animals. Further, this manager needs to be reprimanded and retrained. I expect an apology from her directly. Further, I experience a gluten allergy and your restaurant was one of the top places for me to eat, but now I am thoroughly convinced there seems to be no continuity with management and staff around policy, courtesy, and overall hospitality. One would assume we all have learned a very important lesson on the importance of sanitation especially with covid but it appears there is still a long way to go for some to understand why cleanliness at a restaurant is imperative and what decisions foster sound principles versus continuous lapses in judgment. read more

We moved to Aurora and this became our breakfast place. Very quickly, it became a place we will never go again. The staff is super nice, the food, by and large, is pretty declines. Odd assessment for a one-star review, right? The reason it's one star is because the kitchen refuses to acknowledge food allergies. On multiple occasions now, we have noted allergies at the beginning the meal and food has come out with those items in the food. We have sent food back, understanding that can happen, and had food STILL come back with said ingredients. Utterly hopeless. We will go back when the head chef changes. read more

Extremely long wait. I joined the waitlist before leaving the house at 11:32 am. We weren't seated until after 3pm. I had to come and confirm before I was actually placed on the list, so what is the point of joining the list. The hostess was rude when I checked in to see how long the wait would be, he just kept telling me he didn't know. The FOOD was subpar! My Omelette only had the fillings in the middle, the edges of my omelette were only egg. My moms eggs were cold! & the pancake was disgusting!
