We always have a good experience when we eat at first watch. They change the menu seasonally so we do get a chance to try new things. The jelly for their toast is divine and I could literally eat that by itself. Same with the fruit compote for the French toast! Literally so yummy! I met up with my hubby here for lunch one day, lunch was fine but the service was very slow. There was no on to greet us as we walked in the door. Servers walked past, the guy cleaning tables saw us (and the others behind us) and they all kept walking. So we waited till someone finally came to seat us. The food came in a longish reasonable amount of time. I got 1/2 roast beef and havarti sandwich and 1/2 chicken avocado chop salad. Both were nice enough to finish but nothing to dance about. My husband had a burger and soup. He said the burger was great! Juicy and delicious. He also enjoyed his soup. Then again we waited, and waited, and waited till I stopped someone else and asked him if we had to pay at the register or if someone will bring us a check. We go to First Watch all the time; it's the favorite breakfast spot of both of my teenagers. Love the waitlist feature to save time. Their seasonal specials are amazing!! I NEED them to bring back the Million Dollar Breakfast Sandwich (eggs, sausage & bacon, oh my!). Their regular menu is delicious, too, though. Try the Bacado Omelet, Million Dollar Bacon, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and/or any one of their fresh juices. Geez, I am making myself hungry... Loved this new breakfast place near Southglen mall. It is definitely a good alternative to Snooze if you don't want to wait. They have super healthy options and normal food. I went with a group of ladies and they kept our coffee full (even gave us our own carafe) and the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Today my friends and I went here for brunch and just like every time, they amazed us!! A kind lady held the door for us as we walked in and we were greeted with good vibes and smiles from each staff member we passed. For my drink I got a nice cold pressed juice called Morning Meditation (how appropriate that I had just come from yoga!) which is made with organs, lemon, tumeric, ginger, agave nectar and beets! First visit to First Watch. We went at 7:30 am on a Saturday, and sat outside. Staff was very welcoming of our two puppies, which was one reason we tried this place. Patio was nice, pretty flowers, but noisy due to proximity to University Blvd. and unnecessarily loud music. We appreciated the shade (patio is on the west side). Husband had the Trifecta (2 eggs, 2 sausage links and one pancake) and was left a bit hungry. Food was very good, especially the pancake. I had the bacon avocado omelet with home fries and while grain toast, all delicious. Coffee was good, and we liked that they left the pot. Turkey sausage, gluten free options, kale and whole grains fill the menu. I got the elevated egg sandwich with what they say is a fresh, over-easy cage-free egg with bacon, Gruyere cheese, fresh smashed avocado, mayo and lemon dressed arugula on a brioche bun. Only been here a couple times, but I've had nothing but great food and experiences. All the food taste fresh and the coffee is great. I love how they give you the whole pot of coffee so you do not have to wait for refills for more coffee! Another thing I like is for entrees they have multiple selections. What I mean is they have like meat, veggie, or other options of that dish. Both dishes I tried, the eggs Benedict and some hash brown and eggs dish, both were very delicious!! I went with my friend once and he is allergic to flax seed and I guess the toast that came with the meal had flax seed in it and they were VERY nice about switching it out no problem. They brought out new toast and waitress was nice about the whole situation. The whole restaurant is very clean, open and bright. I really loved the food at First Watch, the omelettes were great along w the small side salad and the "many grains" toast was delicious too! The coffee was not my style, I'm not a pungent girl and really love smoky smooth coffee, which they don't have. It's more of your typical South American or African brew that's a lot more acidic.... I wish there was an option, so my option was to get the iced tea. The wait staff for the most part were nice. Seems like they really want you to have a good experience. For food alone, minus the coffee selections, I'd give them 5 stars. Service for the most part is pretty good too. I rated this place a 3 this time is because I had some issues with my service. My server was friendly but she forgot to refill our ice teas on a few occasions. She was going to get it, and 12 mins later I didn't see her (maybe she went on break but they weren't busy) so I went to get someone to help me, which everyone was friendly no big deal but it was a couple of times asking for the tea to our server and then I had to get it myself. Then I really drop the stars this time because I was waiting at the check out line to pay, and waited another 10+ mins cuz there were 4 ppl in front of me.... to get to my turn and have another lady take the person behind me first. She didn't ask if he was next, but she took his payment first when I'm still in line. He did step out away from the lines, and that whole area is not user friendly, but I was not happy when I had to wait and he didn't. She could simply check to see who's next, she didn't. That's not cool First Watch, I don't leave mediocre reviews.... but getting missed over and over in the same visit really bothered me enough to say something - and people will always remember how you made them feel. The original lady that was running the registers came back to help me when she saw that I got skipped, but there was no acknowledgement from either wait staff to note that I was missed.... I did speak up to say I was skipped..... but nothing, no acknowledgement..... and though she said thanks for coming in, I don't think I'll be back. The eggs were very small and there was not much hollaindaise. Needless to say I did not keep eating till I was full. My husband got a Belgian waffle. A friend of mine and I always do an OTF class and then walk over to First Watch for brunch and conversation. I usually have the power bowl which has quinoa, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, EVOO and eggs. It is delicious and great to refuel after a workout! Typically we always have the Morning Meditation juice after as well which has beet juice, agave, and other ingredients. On a high note the staff was very friendly and the place was clean. Although, our server was not very attentive or quick. My omelet was full of under cooked onions which made it fairly inedible. My husband's eggs benedict were piled high with smoked turkey lunch meat, which was just odd, and the hollandaise was overly lemony and overpowered the dish. His side of bacon was not served with the meal and even after requesting it he didn't receive it right away. By the time it was brought out it was the consistency of leather. First and last time to First Watch this morning. I usually go across the street to the always delicious Snooze to get my Benedict fix. I stumble upon First Watch because of it's mostly positive reviews and because it's healthy / vegetarian / vegan options it was promoting in it's description. I thought I would score some "gluten free brownie points" with my part time vegan wife by recommending this place. A lot of things on the menu sounded tasty. I settled on a standard Benedict with ham and opted for potatoes instead of the standard pairing of lemon dressed greens. As well as the "million dollar bacon" which I have cleverly renamed "five dollar letdown" The benedict looked the part but oddly was very bland. Almost no taste at all to the ham or the hollandaise sauce. Strange right? Our server was very kind and service was prompt. We ordered a fresh juice concoction and after telling her it was so good, she kindly brought out samples of the other juices and they were just as tasty. First Watch. Delicious juice concoctions. The food is always fresh and delicious. A good mix of classics and unique dishes. I was meeting a group of 7 today, so I tried to join the waitlist. Because the group was 7, Yelp wouldn't let me join the waitlist, so I thought I'd call ahead to let them know we were coming. The employee told me I needed to download the "no wait" app to go that route. I did and that app is Yelp but on the restaurant owner side, not to be used by customers to join waitlists. So I went back to Yelp and joined the waitlist for 6, but included in the comment that it was 7 adults, 1 high chair and 1 sling. When they sat us, we were put in a booth that can hold 6. We managed but this was annoying. Service was outstanding after that. Try their seasonal drinks! They have a baby changing table in the large stall and plenty of high chairs.
