I worked here for two years. First Watch is a promising breakfast spot. Always busy on the weekends, especially in the mornings. The food is delicious. I love their crunch pancake, the quinoa bowls are good. You will never go wrong trying one of their seasonal specials or just sticking to a trifecta or traditional breakfast. While dining at the restaurant I encountered true compassion and empathy and love for their job. Sunday @ 10:45am Daughter used app to check in, we arrived with very short wait, nice. Got coffee but choices of cup creamers seems a little fast foodish. The place was crowded and the menu is full of healthy options, but I order "the works" omelet with potatoes and multi grain toast. My daughter ordered kale, cucumber, lemon, Fuji apple drink which was quite refreshing and the fruit with granola and coconut chia pudding. I'm honestly am not a huge fan of reviews because I feel like yelp was created for those who hate their lives so much the have to try to ruin others with want to be critic reviews. However, since my experience was so delightful, I thought I would share my experience. We were greeted with hot coffee upon entering the restaurant with just a short wait since it was a busy Saturday morning. Amy was our server and was a delight to start our morning with. She recommended I try the morning meditation, which was beautiful and delicious (I'm a big fan of beets). Being a vegetarian, Amy then suggested I try the vegetable burger. I was not disappointed. The best part of the experience was Amy going above and beyond to make sure no meat was introduced into my food. I will be back, most assuredly for another round. Very disappointed with First Watch today. It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out (avocado toast and one omelette). Our waitress brought out a glass of juice when my boyfriend ordered it- then never approached us again until the food came out (again..this was over thirty minutes later) yet didn't ask if he wanted more or offer a refill. Our water jug also became empty and was never refilled. Our meals came out- my avocado was so cold, felt like it had been sitting in the fridge overnight or something. All eggs were luke warm. I feel that in the past the good food has surpassed the bad service but after today I am "over it". It seems that there are 1. Not enough workers 2. The workers clearly do not want to be here, or take their job seriously. It's sad because the food is good, and chamblee needed a spot like this. I hope the staff turns over and better talent is sourced for replacements. Until then, I don't feel like wasting 2 hours on brunch that would take me 10 minutes to cook at home. read more

We waited for about 35-40 minutes to be seated and another 35 for our food. We saw our server thrice - once to order, once to ask for extras, and once to checkout. The door opened and closed the entire time (theres a table for two right by the entry way). French toast flavor was great but served lukewarm making for a meh brunch entree. The ambience was that of a crowd but overall upbeat energy. Meditation juice (can't remember exact name) was awesome if you like a strong bite and beet juice. I have ordered from First Watch a couple times. I have had a good experience overall. I just ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs, potatoes, and a side of bacon. When I got home, I saw I only had the biscuits and gravy, with side of bacon. I called and even when they are "technically" closed, they answered and gave me store credit for the food. Went for brunch. I could tell right away that the server Gabrielle didn't like her job. It took her 25 minutes to get us the water. We did not go at peak hour so it wasn't that busy. Food comes out after 40 minutes and is cold. Not once did she check to ask us how our food was. Basically the food was sitting for the waitress but she wasn't attentive enough to serve. Sunday brunch is a busy time at this location. We started off with the avocado toast and the million dollar bacon. Both were good but I have both before. The portions of avocado was very generous and fresh! The multigrain pancakes are great! So were the waffles. For those with gluten allergies, there are gluten free options! Our server, Blair, was cool! So I took away one star for two reasons...if the million dollar bacon is over a dollar a slice, none of the slices should be burnt AND even if it is busy, do not try to hurry up the table, as we waited patiently like every one else for the table and then for the food. Finally had a waitress come take my order 35 minutes prior to them closing. Food was fine (as it usually is at this location) but the service is VERY hit or miss. Went here on the advice of a friend, and honestly will not go back unless it's to another location. The food was delicious, and that's where my good review ends. Our waitress was not rude but certainly not friendly, and asking for any other items we needed took forever as she seemingly disappeared. Our coffee pot stayed empty until I wrangled another employee, who was much nicer, and asked him to let her know we wanted more coffee. When we went to pay, the gentleman who took our money didn't even speak to us, but rather was speaking to another employee across the room, and disappeared completely after her ran our cards & left the receipts to sign on the counter. This was my third visit to this location. I honestly do not understand why they can't poach eggs correctly. The first time, they were overcooked and rubbery. The 2nd time was better, but still overcooked. This time, it was overcooked again...after I asked to make sure they were runny yolks, as they are supposed to be. I told my server and she apologized. I guess she told the kitchen because she came back and said, "they said to order them soft poached next time." I asked to make sure they were runny yolks. What more do they want? We went during peak Sunday brunch time so not surprised there was a wait however there were multiple open tables and they weren't seating people because they said the kitchen was backed up. We waited about an hour and a half. As soon we were seated other people walked in and sat themselves at one of the open tables. I asked and was told that's their "first come, first served" table and you may opt to seat there potentially with others. No one told us or anyone else there waiting we could sit there. The people sitting there said they knew to ask. There were so many people and so many open tables, why wouldn't they at least seat people and bring them a beverage and a menu. Very poorly run.
