I'd been to First Watch in South Carolina, and it had been fantastic, so I had high hopes for this new location. Unfortunately, it just wasn't that good. It wasn't terrible -- the food was pretty tasty -- but it was delivered in a flustered, haphazard fashion and its temperature indicated that it had been waiting around for a while before it was delivered to our table. I probably should only give them three stars, but the bacon is so delicious that I can't. This place will be great if they spend some time and effort training their wait staff. read more

I went to First Watch for brunch with a group of coworkers on a Friday AM. We were worried we would be waiting for a while since they didn't take reservations over the phone, but we were seated right away. We were disappointed that mimosas weren't on the menu, but the food made up for it. As a lover of French toast, theirs was truly amazing. The hospitality was incredible. We ordered the chickichanga and the hacienda hash. Take out. Requested a turkey sausage substintuition for the chorizo on the chickichanga. This was done, thank you. As I was driving off, I noticed that the fresh fruit that was listed with the chickichanga was missing. When I turned around and returned to the restaurant, the person said there wasn't fresh fruit on our order. I had to point out on the menu the listing. I was brought a condiment cup with two small slivers of pineapple and two grapes. Now much fruit for it to have top billing in the listing over potatoes. If I had known this was the extent of the fresh fruit, I would have substituted it for the potatoes. When I tasted the fruit, it was fermented. Need to work on the fresh fruit part. For the Hacienda Hash, it was too salty and tasted vinegary, and discovered when we got it home that it was missing the avocado. Rated 2 stars for the requested substitution. Staff needs some coaching on customer service to help make sure order is as advertised. read more

We ate at First Watch Chapel Hill two days in a row. The service, food, and cleanliness of the restaurant were excellent on both occasions. AH-maz-ING!!! My Short Rib omelet was delicious! It's a menu that satisfies my "foodie" tastes AND my husbands more traditional taste-buds. Our fist time here was the other day and we HAD to come back before we left Chapel Hill. We have a First Watch down in South Florida but never tried it. I am definitely going to have to take my 16-yr old step-son when we get back home. Breakfast is his favorite meal. Sometimes he requests to have breakfast for dinner. Worst. Service. Ever. The wait was absolutely insane which I thought maybe they were just busy, but come to find out the service is just awful. We finally got the text to be seated an hour after arrival and then proceeded to wait even longer while the host was nowhere to be found. We finally got a table and then proceeded to wait ANOTHER HOUR for our food. All levels of this place are functioning poorly. Being busy is one thing, but being busy and having terrible staff and time management is another. Go elsewhere on a weekend. read more

We came here early to beat the Sunday brunch rush and have only good things to say. We snagged an outdoor table and the overall experience was just the perfect spring day. The market hash with goat cheese is absolutely amazing and the French toast is phenomenal!!!Rachel, our server and my sister in French toast, was super sweet and checked back in with us often and also has amazing tattoos....if you can get her you are very lucky as she made the whole experience as smooth as my scrambled eggs....seriously get the eggs. I just moved in 300 ft from this restaurant. So, I was determined to like it. I have forced myself to eat here three times. All three times were inedible. I don't think I've ever had inedible food in a restaurant before and I'm pretty old and not picky. All were grossly over seasoned with either mayonnaise or salt. I guess this is the order given to the kitchen in order to cover up the tasteless food underneath. I know it seems impossible to make a sandwich or hashbrowns inedible, that's why I fell for this place 3 times. I promise you it is possible. Good food, big menu, our service was excellent. Prices are a little higher than a typical breakfast place but food is also a step up. The chile chorizo omelette had a lot of chiles and almost no chorizo, but otherwise no complaints. They put a coffee carafe on the table for us which is much appreciated. The main issue is that the men's bathroom was more puddle than dry floor by about 10 AM. It's a lovely space and then you walk into a bathroom like a gas station in the middle of nowhere. read more

I love First Watch but this location is horrible. The food was disgusting, the server had a terrible attitude. She didn't listen to the order and it came out wrong. I couldn't find her and asked another server for assistance and he was wonderful. However, the food didn't taste good at all. I don't know how you mess up an egg but that was the most flavorless egg that I've ever had. I read the previous reviews and saw that many were negative but I wanted to give them a shot. I should have trusted those reviews. I do hope that they can get it together soon. The one by Rex Hospital is amazing. I think the two locations should have a conversation. read more

The food and service were both really bad! I got the TriFecta (2 eggs, 2 meat, 2 bread). The bread was soggy, the eggs were undercooked, and the bacon had at least been cooked twice and was rubbery and bone cold. The service took forever. We were there for about an hour and it should've been about 20-30 minutes. Even with maybe one other table, our waiter couldn't help us in a reasonable amount of time. We used to be huge fans of First Watch in other states/locations, but we don't plan to go back. read more

The service was amazing and the quality of food was incredible. Everyone here takes pride in their craft, which is apparent in every bite. I had the farmhouse skillet, my wife had the chickichanga, and my daughters had pancakes and a crepe. They also gave us a waffle because the crepe took a little longer to come out. I'm going to keep this short and simple. Best breakfast I've had in a long time. Felipe, our server, was perfection and I've basically decided we're going to be lifelong friends. And when Soerenn, the General Manager, heard us say COVID-19 busted our anniversary celebration, he comped our entire meal. Also worth mentioning that there were multiple staff members cleaning surfaces and rewashing customer areas the entire time we were there. Some of the food was pretty good. The bacon came out soft and cold. Both bathrooms had toilet water all over the floor. Filth on the seats. The women's room had an unattended mop bucket and no toilet paper. If they seat you near the front door you might as well be eating outside. Eat fast because you'll get hit with a blast of cold air every time the door opens. Expect to pay more than most anywhere else in town. read more
