The First Watch in Chapel Hill was a pleasant dining experience for breakfast. The hostess sat us right away, and the waitress was a little slow to greet us, but after that she provided excellent service. The atmosphere was quaint, and you had adequate distance between tables. You have the option to eat indoors or outside. We chose indoors. The food was excellent and very fresh tasting. I had the biscuit with turkey sausage gravy, which comes with an egg choice. Excellent turkey sausage gravy. My wife ordered the muffin tops, which, really is the best part of a muffin. It is grilled and served with fresh fruit. The prices are a little high but the quality of the ingredients made it worth to me. Our waitress and even brought us a round of drinks to go. The restaurant does have a lunch menu which is on my list to try. Recommend this restaurant. I will point out there are a few restaurants. The one in Durham at New Hope Commons I would not recommend. The service is terrible, a bunch of very young waitresses who do not seem like they enjoy working there. The tables are very close together making the restaurant very crowded and noisy. The quality of the food is just as good but the service at that one is poor and the wait can be longer. read more

We waited several minutes after food delivery until the first passing service staff appeared and requested set-ups - she disappeared never to be seen again. After several minutes we flagged down another passing service member and again requested set-ups. She disappeared never to be seen again. Several minutes later our original waitress stopped by to check how we were enjoying our meal when we told her we had no utensils, she was shoked and immediately got our utensils. We then started eating our as best described warm meal. Staff needs to take ownership of problem solving. read more

Three of us had brunch here this morning after a run, and I thought it was great! I ordered the AM superfood bowl but didn't want the toast, and our waitress, Amber (who was wonderful!) suggested that I could get it with extra fruit instead - this was a great suggestion that I wouldn't have thought of! Looking at a couple pictures on yelp when I came to write this review, it seems like this was the right call as I thought my bowl had just the right quantity of fruit, but photos that others have posted do seem a little stingy on the fruit front. I think the coconut chia pudding would have been kind of boring/bland without all the fruit to balance it out. I also got the watermelon lime pineapple juice, which was just super refreshing. One of my friends got a sandwich/melt of some sort and said it was good; the other got a more traditional eggs and bacon breakfast, and also had no complaints. Service was very good, our food arrived quickly, and Amber kept our water glasses and coffee mugs full. Ample parking and no wait on a Saturday morning... would definitely return! read more

Eaten here many times due to location and convenience. Food inconsistent and never ready on time if you mobile order. We've had to wait at least an additional 15-20 minutes on multiple visits. Parking is limited, especially when they are busy. Overall okay if you want decent breakfast food. Not a fan of the skillet with avocado since it's not been ripe on two instances. read more

Our waitress was very nonchalant. She took our drink and food order. A couple came in about 10-12 minutes after we did and they had the same waitress as us. Our waitress ended up giving them our food because we "technically" had to the same order but she never mentioned anything to us about our food. I just so happen to hear the conversation with the couple that came in after us. Also, the couple came in after us got their food within 10 minutes of them ordering. A couple minutes later, another waitress comes to our table and brings out food. She asks if I got French toast in which I did and she placed it on the table, a couple seconds later another waitress and picks up the French toast from the table and says "no she did not order the French toast" and proceeds to take it from the table without ever saying anything to me. Long story, my boyfriend and I ended up leaving before the food even came because the service was not great & our waitress never communicated anything to us. read more

One of them asked to have their waffle taken back (wrong order); they took it back - and then brought it to me! It was, by this time, cold and hard. This was a great place for getting a Saturday breakfast. The waitress (who was awesome) greeted us with a carafe of delicious coffee. The food was outstanding and they offered a lot of flexibility for substituting items. Our waitress was very attentive and anticipated requests before we even asked for it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and invites you to take your time and enjoy yourself. The breakfast menu has a lot of variety and interesting choices you typically don't see. Business travel often sucks - like today - when I have to drive from Chapel Hill to Philly because it rained last night 2,000 miles from here. Anyway - I decided to grab some breakfast before the road trip and found First Watch next to my hotel. What a find. Menu has so many great options. I went with the Barbacoa Quesadillas topped with poached eggs - and served with black beans. Stupid-good. Just ridiculous. And I also got the 'million dollar bacon' and my friends - they ain't lyin. 4 slices of butcher cut bacon drizzled with syrup. Slabs of joy. Tamia crushed it on the service too. A great start to an exhilarating day of absorbing all the beauty that 95 North has to offer. (Ooh look - more weeds!) Check it out - you won't be sorry. read more

I've been to 3 different locations - Raleigh, Greenville, and Chapel Hill. All locations had solid service, fresh food. Each juice blend has been delicious - favorite was the watermelon mint.
