My husband and I came here for breakfast. They are definitely a breakfast/brunch type of establishment. The restaurant has cute farmhouse decor and is very clean. They offer a seasonal menu and a regular menu. The prices are a little on the high side for breakfast, but they definitely have healthier options than a typical breakfast joint! I ordered the Chickichanga, a chicken breakfast burrito off the regular menu. It was a very large serving and I was able to share some with my husband. The flavor was good, but I felt like they need to add more chicken and decrease the amount of grilled onions in the burrito. A few bites in felt like I was eating just onions and nothing else. The side of potatoes had perfect seasoning and were fried up just right. The fruit was sweet and juicy. My husband ordered the Asian Pork Belly Breakfast Bowl off the seasonal menu. He says the flavor was great with a good spice from the siracha sauce. Unfortunately, he felt there was not enough pork belly included in the bowl and still felt hungry when he finished eating (hence the reason I shared some of the Chickichanga with him)! I ordered a tri athlete because I'm a vegetarian, there was sausage in the omelet when I asked the waitress about she was rude and talked to the chef. They acted like they it was a surprise. Food is good, but it seems like they're phoning it in and not paying attention to the little (important) things. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait, but we waited over 45 minutes. The place just generally doesn't seem very clean. The benches at the booths are all tired and ragged and need their padding replaced STAT. Mom has health issues so every time she comes into town, we come here as a fresh, healthy treat. This visit was the opposite of every other one EVER; poorly trained staff who have no business in customer service and don't know the menu, exceedingly long wait for the order to be brought to the table, and the only flavor the food had was grease. I have eaten at First Watch in 3 cities and it's consistently good. I like the steel cut oatmeal, lemon ricotta pancakes, and the million dollar bacon (caramelized with brown sugar and maple syrup). They have an updated menu that offers so much more than most breakfast places. Lots of healthy options and lots of decadent choices. Try going during the week to avoid the crowds. read more

Came here on a first visit to College Station and wasn't expecting that much. There were a couple vegan options and (probably some of the salads) including the oatmeal, A.M. Superfoods Bowl (chia seed pudding) and an açaí bowl. After asking our waitress for her recommendation I chose the A.M. Superfoods Bowl. The coconut milk gives it the flavor of vegan vanilla coconut-based ice cream but less cold, obviously. The fruit was good and the portion looks small at first but it was pretty filling. The whole grain artisan toast that it came with had good flavor and the almond butter paired well with the sea salt, however the bread wasn't actually toasted on mine, but the bread stood up to the spread that didn't make it flimsy. Overall the restaurant has a broad selection of breakfast foods, this place is pretty busy almost every day. We went at 9:30 AM on a Sunday and there was still about a 20 minute wait, but it didn't feel that long. read more

Decided to try out one of the most popular brunch places in town. The long wait on weekends is the biggest reason I have not visited this restaurant. I did try out the First Watch in Tampa, Florida and had a pleasant experience so I thought I'd try it out on a weekday, when it is less busy. Thankfully, our wait was only 10 minutes at around 11 am on a Monday. I ordered a tomato basil soup and the pesto vegetarian sandwich. Both were delicious. My husband ordered the flortentine eggs Benedict. Unfortunately his dish was not good. The eggs were cold and it felt undercooked. There really wasn't anything great about it at all and we completely regretted ordering it. Because it became busier later, service was lacking. I wasn't very impressed with the visit and I'm not sure I'd visit again, especially if I have to wait for a seat! read more

This last time (a Monday at 1p) the service was not as good (waited 10 min in lobby - though we were on time for our waitlist spot, waited 5 min for coffee at the table, another 10 min for silverware, and portions/plating not on par). We came here on a Saturday and it was super packed. I really wanted to love this place and I definitely think they can do better. The service was awful, our waitress was so sweet but she had way too many tables she truly couldn't keep up. She didn't come back to our table after taking our order. My bfs plate came out and mine didn't come out for a whole other 10min. Then we waited another 10min trying to get ketchup. They didn't give us napkins and after trying to flag someone down I gave up and went all the way to the check out station to grab some. The food was decent but the portions were meh. It was definitely interesting to me that I was handed the allergen menu and told that it wasn't entirely accurate because many of the "wheat" listings were a result of the included toast. Interesting, but okay. Why wasn't there just a gluten free menu to start? Having to do this made me question other ingredients - was the allergy listing a result of the toast or was it granola, a thickening agent, a sauce, etc. Very frustrating. In addition to questioning the safety of my meal even after going between the regular menu and the provided "allergen list," the food honestly just wasn't very flavorful. Maybe the best I've ever had eating out. I believe I was told it is a franchise. The only disappointment is the hollandaise sauce for the eggs Benedict is canned and pretty terrible. This is often the case and why I always ask for it on the side anywhere new.
