Love the concept of local farm to table breakfast, brunch& lunch, all available open to close, 7am-2:30pm I have been here for breakfast/brunch & lunch probably a dozen times over the last few months. While the menu is creative and varied, the quality is SO inconsistent. Sometimes it is an absolute home run and other times it's a complete bust. Poached eggs, which come with several different dishes, are almost always hard, as in yolk. Poached eggs are supposed to run yellow. Each time I have mentioned to the server that the eggs were actually hard, not soft as supposed to be in poached eggs, they looked at me like a deer in headlights. I'm not sure they knew how poached eggs are supposed to be cooked. Granted, the place is nearly completely employed by college students but it is a staple on the menu people. To credit the restaurant, they have always brought out eggs correctly cooked the second time around. But truly, this should not continue to happen. Secondly, I always order my bacon "extra crispy". Most of the time it comes out wet, limp and fatty with zero crispiness. Again, they will make it right. About 50% of the time, the entrees come out at significantly different times. This is a big deal when many of the entrees are egg dishes. The eggs Benedict, hash, avocado toast, pancakes, traditional breakfast, omelettes and egg sandwich are all excellent if cooked correctly. For lunch, my favorite is the 2 for you which is cup of soup or salad and half a sandwich. I love the tomato basil soup and roast beef and havarti sandwich with arugula. Mmmm. The chicken chili is mediocre at best. Good coffee, very good fresh squeezed juices. The service is always pleasant but not consistent. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's not! Overall, it gets 3.5 stars. When they're on it's 5 stars but when not it's barely a 2. read more

The only downsides were the wait for a table was 35 minutes but that is understandable for a popular restaurant and only allowing 50% capacity. The other downside was they brought all but one of our orders out because the one order was given to the wrong table. This place was a real surprise. While I have yet to visit the actual location, it's my goto for late breakfast delivery. The sandwiches are amazing, especially the one with cheese melted into the outside of the bread. Omelets are good. The juice is good too, but not going to the store to see the full menu, they seem to always be out of the options listed on the app I use to order from them. It is kinda marketed as a health food thing, so as such, they throw a side of greens with the sandwiches which makes no sense, as I usually order a sandwich so I can eat on the go. You get weird looks from peeps when shoving handfuls of greens in your mouth as you walk around campus... Lol. I decided to come here last minute at around 2pm (close to closing time), however the staff was all very friendly and helpful even seating us immediately without having checked in online. I got the smoked salmon frittata and the morning meditation. It was definitely a good combination of fresh greens to go along with the savory frittata. I like it, but I don't love it. It tends to be pretty pricey for what it is, but if I feel like spending more than I should for a good brunch, I'll go. It tends to be things I feel like I could make myself, but our choices for brunch are limited in B/CS, so if someone wants to go, I'll go. Also, every time I have been the service has been incredibly slow, which is weird, because you pay at the counter. When I waited tables, it was always checking people out that slowed me down, so I don't get what the holdup is here. I've been here a good amount of times for a place I do not want to come back to. The reason being customer service I've had to go orders messed up more then once here. While in town for a conference my friend and I agreed upon First Watch for a Monday morning brunch based on their reviews, and I'm so glad we did! What you will quickly noticed about this place is its clean open atmosphere and friendly staff. We both had a hard time deciding what to order because everything on the menu looked so good. My friend had the turkey club, the meat looked fresh roasted and was served on artisan bread. I had the yogurt bowl which included fresh fruit with homemade granola (granola was so yummy) and a muffin. I also had their signature lemonade with crushed strawberries. We have been going to first watch almost every weekend for a few months, the last few times have been disappointing (especially for the high prices) but today was especially the worst. In our group of 5 people everyone's meals came at completely different times and all of them had something wrong. Our waitress had to bring some plates out 3 different times before finally getting it right. From completely wrong entrees, overcooked fatty bacon, cold potatoes, putting nuts on a tray when asked not to (which could be a health concern) it was just all so wrong. We loved going to First Watch for the cool atmosphere and usually good food but when it has consistently been so disappointing not once but the last 4-5 times we have been we might as well save the $40 and go to ihop. read more

I got the avocado toast. $9.00 is kind of a lot, for what it is, but it was delicious and filling. I wish they would have asked me how I wanted my eggs, because they came out too runny for my liking. We shared a banana oat crunch pancake. I would return at any time of the day for that pancakes. It was sweet and crunching, and banana-y and fluffy and everything I wanted it to be, all in one. First Watch is a great place to eat brunch at (if you don't want to have a mimosa and you're okay waiting over an hour to eat). Their food is very good and made with quality ingredients. Their menu puts an emphasis on being healthy. The restaurant uses an app for guests to check into the waiting line before you leave your home, but every time I have used it has been pretty inaccurate (add an extra 45 minutes). The chia seed pudding is excellent. Their fresh juice is also good. In the world of college station, I would give this place a 4, but I couldn't say it would do as well in a place with better options. read more

This place is so fake. I used to go to first watch way back in the early 2000s when I was in HS in Ohio. It was the BEST. It was classic breakfast food and always tons of retirees. It wasn't cool, it wasn't hip, but it was good food at a good price! When we got one down here I was PUMPED! I dragged my husband there immediately. Boy was I disappointed. It's a soulless, corporate drone's interpretation of what a hip farm to market restaurant might look like. But everything is so branded and corporate it made me wanna kill myself before we even sat down (and that was after braving a long, long line). The food was super mediocre and more pricey than the old stuff. It too had gone from typical american breakfast food to some effort to provide more trendy breakfast options. I am a millennial, I am their hip, target demographic but this place is trying way to hard and it's a giant turn off. No thanks. Take me back to the days of simple food and retirees yammering on about the weather any day. That was real. Oh yeah one more thing. You have to use their app to make a reservation. Not only did I get to skip the wait time, but I also got to meet and chat with some friendly folks and make new friends! I had the acai bowl for brunch and it was just delicious. It also comes with a couple slices of whole grain toast with almond butter topped with SALT?! Um yes please. I'm Colombian and therefore very picky about my coffee, but their home brew is great quality that's easily drunk black! I have Celiac Disease as does my son. I was so excited to eat here after all the positive comments from others. Breakfast is usually pretty easy to modify as long as there is no bread. Our waiter was fantastic and even put mine and my sons order on a separate ticket clearly labeled with allergy. I know Celiac is not an allergy. However when our order came out there was regular bread on the plate. The waitress that brought it out whisked it back to kitchen. It was back out with Udi's bread, but clearly the same omelette. My omelette was also cold. I let our waiter know that it was not a safe practice for Celiacs. He apologized but no visit from the manager and still paying full price left a sour taste in my mouth.
