Great food and our waiter Andrew Taylor was attentive. I would make two suggestions. First, get some busboys. When you make someone wait an hour and a half for a meal, you need to show the customer you care about their wait. We noticed some tables staying dirty for 10-15 minutes. Second, you must be accurate on the wait. If you think it will be 30 minutes, say 45. If an hour, say 1.25 hours.... customers like a pleasant surprise, they don't like waiting longer than the estimate. The app needs work. We tried to use it but was told "if you weren't able to get on the list with the app, there isn't a wait" Hmmmm. Really? We got there ten minutes later and waited almost two hours. Don't have an app unless it's super reliable. And don't keep encouraging grumpy customers to use it if it isn't reliable. We will be back. But honestly, if we can't get on the app and we see people outside, we will probably move on. It's worth a wait, but not a long wait. read more

This is a great place for brunch. I tend to bring my guests from out of town here. You usually have to wait a while to get a table but it is worth the wait. So many healthy options to choose from. Last time I was here I ordered the eggs Benedict and they were delicious. They have great juices as well, I like their green juice. read more

Gross! I don't know how they cook their bacon here or how they cook in general but everything was not good. Don't know if they dehydrate their bacon before giving it to the customers but it felt like I chipped my tooth biting into it. I ordered a BLT not sure how to mess it up but there was one piece a bacon i couldn't bite into and i tiny leaf of lettuce after i asked for extra on the sandwich. Not impressed with the food. We used the no wait app and were seated 40 minutes after our scheduled time. That's not a problem. They had several large parties ahead of us. It was fun to people watch while we waited. My daughter was very hungry and the wait time for food was normal. When her lemon ricotta pancakes arrived they were cold. The syrup was warm so she ate them anyway because she was starving. About 10 minutes later my breakfast arrived. I ordered the BLT eggs Benedict. The million dollar bacon was excellent but the eggs were cold. Again, we were starving so we just wanted to eat and get out of there. There was a giant salad on the plate along with the BLT Benedict but no dressing on it. The waitress was very sweet and apologized about the temperature of the food but made no offer to send back and reheat. For the price, food delivered at separate times and the food temp, we will not go back. My daughter had been wanting to try it and I'm glad we did. Other reviews stated food delivered separately but we observed most everyone around us getting all their food at the same time - even parties of four. First experience at this restaurant today. There's always a line on days that we can actually be here during their small window of being open. After eating here, I'm not sure why. The service was bad. Our waiter was a little uninformed about the menu, and made it almost seem like the place was about to close with how uninterested he was in serving us. Then, there's the food. Guys, you can make this stuff at home. I'm pretty sure the butternut squash soup came out of a box. We shared the breakfast tacos, and they were just ok. I hear people ranting and raving about this place all the time, and maybe we ordered the wrong thing? Idk. I guess 8 dollar pancakes just didn't seem that special of an item. First Watch officially opened today, Monday June 20th. There were about half a dozen people inside when I stopped in. BCS badly needed a place like this. The menu is vast and it's an actual breakfast place that takes breakfast seriously. Very good coffee which is important and a huge selection of breakfast skillets, sandwiches, and traditional selections. The coffee comes in a small pot that equals two cups. A nice touch; there is a free coffee-t0-go dispenser by the door. As the menu shows, First Watch caters to the health conscious crowd...and yes, its a tad hipstery. But this is a national chain, and dramatic evidence that chains are NOT per se a bad thing. The traditional greasy breakfast has been relegated to a small corner of the menu, but its there if you want it. There is a lot of creativity in the menu for sure. Vegetarians, vegans, Paleo people are all well-catered for here. As are everyone else. Staff were attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is nicely laid out. This is a good place to bring business clients for coffee and breakfast. Nice playlist of contemporary indie pop played at volume that allows you to have a conversation. Location is great, as it is close to Cafe Eccell, Mad Taco, and World of Beer, which offer a nice set of choices for visitors staying in the hotels nearby. Only downside is no liquor license, so no Mimosas or bloody Mary's with your brunch. But First Watch fills a niche and scratches an itch! read more

I have never had the such bad service before today. It took our waitress forever just to come and take our drink orders, by the time she did take our drink orders we were ready to order food but she left without asking if we were ready to order. I ordered a coffee and my boyfriend order iced tea (where advertised free refills). A different waitress brought our drinks out. After waiting ten minutes we finally asked for creamer for my coffee but everybody around us received creamer when their coffee arrived. Finally our food came out and we were never asked if there's anything else we needed but like before everybody around us had a basket of condiments (i.e. hot sauce, ketchup, ect.) on their table before their food was brought out. We had to stop our waitress and ask her to bring hot sauce. She returned with just hot sauce not the basket of condiments, we didn't even have salt and pepper on our table. Never did our waitress ask us if there was anything we needed, we were constantly asking other waiters for stuff. My boyfriend was never offered a refill on his iced tea. I was never offered a to go cup for my coffee, even though everybody around us was. And lastly when our food came out we were told that they'd bring our toast out. We never received the toast. We will definitely not be eating here again. The worst service and everything is over priced for what you get. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

This was the first and last time I will ever go to the First Watch restaurant in Lakewood, Colorado. I ordered the Traditional breakfast and received lukewarm eggs, burnt potatoes which were also lukewarm. The glass of water had no ice and was as warm as the food. There were no spoons in the place for stirring my coffee and there was no sugar, only brown sugar. I will not be going back. read more

Great food!!! Fair prices!!! Friendly staff!!! However this isn't all that makes a good restaurant, especially at lunchtime .....in Aggieland .....on a weekday. We need food quick, we don't have 2hrs off work to eat lunch. Get the organization down or other College Station restaurants will eat your lunch business alive and this is your mainstay. Management was awesome! We didn't complain because we knew they're fresh having just opened 10 days ago. He just knew we waited an hour for our food and came right out and gave us $40 worth of comped meal cards. Bless you Don't like having to wait for food, and then wait another 10 mins in line to pay. Let the waitress do it. It was apparent to me that everyone was miscommunicating. So hoping this works out here, I love this concept! We will give it another few weeks to settle in and try again. It is about time BCS got a good brunch place. They are still working through the initial learning process, but this is a good addition to the area's restaurant lineup. The highlights of our meal were: The pork sausages with a bit of fond on them, very flavorful. The iced coffee which was well balanced, not too much cream or sugar and a good coffee flavor, though generally I like my coffee stronger. The lemon ricotta pancakes also had strawberries and the combination was very tasty. The Nutella French toast wasn't perfect French toast but it's hard to go wrong with Nutella and toasted nuts. The kids meals are reasonably priced and balance kid-friendliness with parent-friendliness. For example, chocolate chip pancakes, with a heaping pile of strawberries. The chicken salad with arugula was promising, but the arugula had bad pieces...wilted bits and yellow leaves. Who would put those in a salad? The fresh squeezed OJ was nice, but not amazing. Really great! Breakfast food is my favorite food, and this place has lots of it. The atmosphere is clean and hip and music isn't from 10 years ago like most places in town. Coming from Austin I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to food and I was really excited to have something so great close to my new home! Other things I love about this place : - The staff is genuinely friendly. They seem to actually enjoy being at work so I'm assuming there's some great management happening here. - I drink an embarrassing amount of water and they bring you your own little pitcher for refills. No more attempting to get my server's attention! - They automatically bring you separate checks. I love this! Every time I go to this restaurant I have a horrible experience, it's so frustrating because I've loved First Watch for years but this location is just a mess. Today I waited for over 20 minutes for my curbside order (which had been placed and payed already), I called multiple times to let them know I had arrived and what spot I was in. They only ever brought me my food because I called them again, which I was then told that my food had just been sitting out inside. Once I got home (which is only a 15 min drive) the food was room temperature at best. This is not this first time I've had a bad experience here, and I think that just shows how horrible the management is. Save yourself some time and go to one of the other much better brunch options in town. read more

Great new place! Definitely fresh and tasty. We liked that they gave us a jar of water so we don't have to keep waiting on refills. I got a hash skillet and it was very filling and delicious and worth the price. The fresh avocados on top made my plate really good. My boyfriend got the trifecta with a waffle. He added a side of bacon and overall his plate had less food than mine and it was about 4 or 5 dollars more expensive than mine. He said it tasted great just wished he would've gotten more food for the money. Also if they served fresh salsa for your food that would be so good! read more

We've been twice now. The first time we went our waiter was excellent, she recommended her favorite dishes and was overall very attentive. Coffee was fairly decent. I got the Brisket Hash. The brisket was a touch chewy, but hey, they aren't a bbq place. There are plenty of those in BCS, not many breakfast/brunch places. Overall, just great food. Our second time, this morning was meh. I got the chile chorizo omelet. There was very scant green chili and chorizo, onions undercooked (I think the menu said they were roasted), and cheese. I asked where the avocado was as I thought I saw it on the menu. Our waiter said nope. And then a few minutes later came back to say that I was right, and that she'd bring some. I probably won't get an omelet again as I prefer to have the ingredients cooked into the egg a little more. I'll still go back...I think the hashes, lemon ricotta pancakes, and nutella french toast are calling my name, but the last trip was kinda lackluster. I'm kinda glad that they don't do mimosas and bloody mary's, keeping the day drinking to a minimum is a good thing, I think. Oh- if anyone on management is reading this (it seems like they are) - what's the deal with pre-buttering the toast? Far too much butter for me. Personally, I'm not much of a brunch goer - but this place is T A S T Y. It's an upbeat breakfast/lunch cafe with healthy options and overwhelming portions. The atmosphere is a snug farmhouse feel, but without grease filled foods involved. I ordered the BLTE sandwich (BLT with an egg and greens) and had tomato soup with potatoes on the side. The potatoes were very simply seasoned with garlic and onion, yet moist and delicious. The sandwich was on a grain bread but wasn't dull/dry and I truly enjoyed eating it. Overall, writing this review is bringing back really happy memories and I'm having an impossible time creating a complaint about this place. I'll be going again! read more

We tried First Watch out for brunch today. We were expecting to wait given it was a holiday, however, the wait to be seated was only 10 minutes. The wait to receive our food was longer than expected, but the quality was top notch! The wait staff is very courteous. I had the smoked salmon with eggs on the summer menu, my husband had the Italian sausage omelet. The food was outstanding and presented very well. The atmosphere is far better than IHOP or Cracker Barrel. Their menu has many interesting options. The nutrition information is posted on their website which is plus for those of us wanting to eat healthy. B/CS has needed a place like this for a long time. This place hits my fifth star for great new-clean food, location, friendly staff and an "above and beyond expectations" experience. I found it by driving by and saw a PACKED parking lot at 8:30am on a Sunday. Avocado on Toast w Simmered Eggs and coffee was perfect after a couple of days of heavy traditional Texas BBQ. Cutest place in college station! We have been needing a brunch place and this is far beyond any expectations! I would have eaten anything on the menu. I ordered the French toast with Nutella and strawberries and it was incredible!!! Their farm to table motto is great. There are lots of healthy options and yummy treats!!
