This is the most disrespectful restaurant in College Station, TX. My daughter who is an engineering student at TAMU will not come back to this restaurant. Staff need to be culturally trained on how to deal with diverse society. At least one waitress that served day shift on July 16 should be fired. I am mad. The manager did not know how to communicate properly and said "i don't know what you want me to do" that makes no sense. How does the general manager not know what to do when someone is completely insulted by the restaurant for religious reasons. Just because the kitchen staff or the serving staff are ignorant towards my religion, my daughters as well, does not give them the right to be so disrespectful. The first time there was bacon on the plate, my daughter was fine. She told them to return it and remake it, then there was a huge piece of bacon after she was done eating. she had to throw up her food because of the ignorance of the staff. crazy. never coming back to such an intolerant atmosphere. read more

Haven't eaten here before and my first visit was less than satisfactory. I read some of the reviews before being seated which lowered my expectations and this place still came up short. Upon being seated we had to wait several minutes before ever getting a drink order. After the waiter finally came by we didn't see him again for twenty minutes. The food took approximately 33 minutes to get to our table. The food was excellent but not worth the wait. We spent about 2 hours at this place. That is way too long to spend at a brunch restaurant . This isn't Christopher's or the republic, it's a brunch joint. For brunch options you would be better off going to IHOP or Dennys over this place due to the unnervingly slow service. read more

As soon as we walked through the door the hostess Ms Harlie had checked us in and gave us a wait time and explained about having 2 big groups that had just came in and kept a polite conversation with us while she was able and she wasn't busy. I got up, walked past all the servers and went to the counter where I got my first cup of coffee. After a while without anyone checking on us (again, all other tables were getting some really good 5 star service) I went to the counter to get a refill of water (empty) and a young girl who I overheard said she just graduated from high school stopped me and asked if I needed a refill. She was your bright spot. The rest of the staff just stood talking as u walked past them. It wasn't even busy. As I saw tables about to leave they were offered a cup of coffee to go. Thanked for coming in and probably would give 5 stars on a review. I made eye contact to the middle age female server and she quickly looked away. So did another young server who I saw refilling coffee. My previous review of here was 5 stars. I recommended coming here because this is our second time and my first was outstanding. Not playing the card, just the facts. We are the three Asians on the 4 top next to the booths by the kitchen entrance. Watch the entire service. I have a rule that if I really like a place I'd go back and even buy a shirt if available. I bought a shirt after my first visit but I'll holster the shirt. I'm huge on loyalty and sorry to say, this was lost. We left the cold, unwelcoming restaurant without any one of your staff saying a word. Not the type of place I'd return to. I hope this review is useful and hope this is a one off and I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. ***update*** The operations manager reviewed the video with the owner and quickly reached out to me directly. They agreed with my assessment and said they immediately addressed the issue with their staff. Doesn't change what happened but pleased to hear they care and will take corrective action when needed. They offered to refund my bill. I declined as I am just thankful they swiftly dealt with my concerns.

The entrees were good, but the appetizers are what stood out. The drinks were great too, a great ambiance for drinks and appetizers. Service was good, the restaurant is a small space so make a reservation.

Even after reading some reviews we went…read more Yes the interior may be a little worn and the atmosphere may be a little greasy, but hey it's called the Fat Shack. The fam and I went in and each had a fat sandwich. My choice was the Fat Doobey. Awesome. We all enjoyed our large sandwiches and their cheese fries. For desert we had the Fried Oreos (try the strawberry sauce). They were so good we actually felt like we were at the fair. Just the owner was there working all parts. We had all our food (5 sandwiches, 4 fries, 10 fried Oreos, and a milk shake) within 15 minutes. Look, some of the reviews are obviously personal or they were just having a bad day. So, if your looking for super clean fine dining then this joint ain't for you, but if your looking for a comfort spot to fill you up blow costs or soak up the nights events, then check out "The Fat Shack"

It had chicken strips, french fries, mozzarella, sticks, and marinara sauce. All stuffed inside my hoagie bun. It was good. The employee said she uses ranch as well and that saved the day for me. Very helpful and efficient workers. The lady that we visited with actually recommended the burgers. But we were there to try their specialized item. Next time we will try the burger.
