I am from out of town visiting and stopped in First Watch to have breakfast The wait was 1 1/2 hours we waited for about 20 mins. And left. While there we witnessed some tables were empty the complete 20 mins. When asked hostess stated waiting on people from no wait list. Two tables had 1 person sitting at them while they waited for the rest of there party to show up - while there some one waited over 20 min for there party to show up - they were there when we arrived and still there when we left. read more

Breakfast is good but you have to use the app to get on the wait list. It's the only way to get seated. You can't call ahead and if you walk in without using the app you are placed behind people who used the app. When using the app you have to be in a ten mile radius to get "a place in line" which might not seem like a big deal unless you live out of the radius. Got a spot in line at 9:20 AM on the way here once we where in the check-in radius, arrived shortly after, checked in and waited 2 hours. The most frustrating part was the manager told us twice we had three parties a headed of us...only to find out you get bumped every time someone checks-in. They should tell you the actual number ahead of you. The process is frustrating and we will not return. read more

The problem with first watch is not the incredible food it was the hour wait and poor service

A great new farm to table breakfast, brunch, and lunch place. Being new to BCS area, we were looking for just such a place. We had our own coffee pot and water pitcher for our table. And for the coffee you have several different half & half flavors right at your table! Then came the amazing fresh local ingredient food. The daily fresh made muffins were a delight and the blueberry pancakes tasted just like the muffin. The Hash and Eggs Benedict were other surprises of wholesome goodness. We were thrilled with only being open a week that the quality of food was superb. As far as service, everyone is very attentive. Again being new to the area and coming from a tourist location we are used to a higher level of service. But we were pleased with the effort put forth and the attention of the manager and his obvious training of staff. I am sure over time all servers, host, and staff will come to a higher level of quality. We are looking forward to our next visit. read more

We were in town to visit the Bush center and went exploring for a place to have lunch. We walked up to the door at 2:35, then saw the sign that says they close at 2;30. As we were turning to leave a waiter opened the door and said "Come on in!" We're glad we did. My husband had the Monterey Club with soup and I ordered the Chicken Palermo with a pecan dijon salad. Both our meals were so fresh and delicious, and the service was attentive. It was a very enjoyable experience. read more

It was verryyyy cold and I tried to eat without complaint but just couldn't so our waitress had a new one made right away. Husband really enjoyed his meal and coffee was good. Quality has dropped very slightly. I stopped eating in a few months ago. I normally order "to go" and usually get my same order every time. Usually 90% correct ( missing toast or forgot to omit butter, always double check ). The HUGEST and most annoying and COMMON complaint is the time quoted for food to be ready. I continually wait and wait (with others) who wait and wait! I'm not talking 5-10 min. 20+ minutes !!!!!!! I have not had a good first watch experience yet. All of my friends rave about it, so I decided to give it a try. I went a couple of months back and did not even get to eat. We went early on a Friday morning (around 8). Because of the online check-in thing (which we didn't know about) we spent about an hour waiting, only to find out that it was going to be even longer than that. So we left to get food where it would be faster. I decided to give it another try, just to give them the benefit of the doubt. This time, we planned ahead and did the online thing to get a table right away -- that was a super nice feature and I am not downplaying them for this one at all!! I really liked it when we learned to do it right! But after that nothing was super great. I ordered coffee and it came out kind of lukewarm. Like not burning hot and not cold, but cold enough that it was too cold to drink by the time I go halfway through the cup. I ordered the Bacado omelet. The eggs were slightly overcooked (although not inedible). My biggest problem here was with the avocado. It was brown. I tasted a little bit and it tasted like it had gone bad or had been sitting out for a few days. I was not impressed. When I showed my server and asked him if I could get some fresh avocado (because you know, mistakes happen), he seemed uninterested. He never brought fresh avocado (I'm sure he forgot because they were super busy, but he did not have a great attitude about the whole situation). This leads me into my third point. My server was incredibly annoyed with almost everything we asked him for. He was slow at refilling our drinks, rarely came by the table, and took almost 15 minutes to bring the check after we asked for it (which might be part of the long wait lines problem). I do not remember his name, but hopefully, it was just an off day for the guy and he is usually better. Overall, I was very disappointed with the service and the food. It is a great idea and I love the concept, I just don't want to pay for food that is subpar and takes forever. I am willing to try it again, but I will definitely be ordering something different! read more

I got an egg Benedict and it was okay. It wasn't outstanding. However, the iced coffee was really good. I would go back there for coffee but I don't know about the food. The best thing there was the seasoned potatoes. I also felt like the food was kind of cold, which I do not prefer. The food was good. Definitely love the fresh greens with breakfast! But most definitely NOT kid friendly. That's fine, I certainly don't expect every place to be but it's very uncomfortable to be avoided like the plague. And in this instance my grandbaby was extremely happy and well behaved. And maybe I pulled the server short straw but I rushed in in-between cleaning and errands so dressed less than upper class= ignored like yesterday's news. I left a good tip due to being the industry myself for over 20 years but it definitely wasn't deserved. I wasn't even offered water and a totally different server had to bring me a togo cup. Food options were healthy, creative and fantastic. They need to work on logistics, lines are always long, and then having to wait in line to checkout, is not the most efficient, enjoyable process and you have a line through the middle of a small restaurant. It's frustrating to the customer when a business can't handle their own success, it's failure to address those details that make a good thing go bad. read more

Howdy! We love First Watch! Love the atmosphere and different options for seating! No super loud music blaring! You can actually enjoy a conversation with one another! Their menu options are quite appealing and love the new Fall options! If you like Pumpkin, we recommend the pumpkin pancakes! Incredibly great food. Even better is the service. The service starts with being able to get into the cue via an app. Then, the servers are spot on in their descriptions and recommendations, like they have probably eaten it themselves. I have been to an awesome first watch in Austin so i had high expectations for the one in college station. The food was great but my silverware so nasty. I asked for another set and the set she brought was still nasty so I'm assuming they don't do a very good job of cleaning their silverware. read more

We've only eaten here a couple of times & liked our meals, however the service is awful. Both times it took forever to order, get drinks & food & ticket. And it wasn't even busy one of the times! Had to hunt someone down twice. This place is usually crowed so between that & the bad service I opt out when looking for a place to eat. read more

This place has great freshly made healthier food that you can't get at the local diner dumps like The Kettle and you pay a little more than expected for that. I have heard lots of great things about this place. I was warned not to come on the weekend as the wait can be up to an hour. My wife and I decided to go eat on a Tuesday morning. There was absolutely no wait. The atmosphere is very nice and the service was top notch. You get a lot of food here which is great. The only reason I am giving a 4 star is because I had super high expectations for the food, since I've only heard great things. I was a little disappointed. The food isn't bad by any means, just not as amazing as it had been built up to be. I prefer IHOP's food to be frank, but the atmosphere here is better. Overall it was a good experience. Have been here a few times and I really want to love it. The service is just horrendous. We were sat outside and then another couple sat down with their dog after us. The waitress ignored us and served the dog owners first, then went back in got the dog water and still did not address us. After petting the dog and going back inside she came out roughly 3 minutes later as we were getting up to leave. She was going to serve us without washing her hands after petting the dog. I love dogs too but what if I'm allergic and now you've touched my coffee cup and utensils? I have come here many times hoping each time the service will be better and I leave always disappointed. For CSB this is a refreshing place very Californian now don't get all upset it's just they have fresh fruit and veggie based menu items which is considered a California thing. They always have a long wait on the weekends so go early or use the app. Coffee was great hot and didn't have that burnt taste just rich coffee flavor.
