The food is great, the staff is great. Service can get slow when it is crowded. It's a very nice place to eat and all of the staff are very friendly. The only gripe I have, and it is minor is those darn trees, the landscaping is awful. Replace the trees, put in a flower or two. Go look at Napa Flats for inspiration! read more

I like that I can fool myself into thinking I'm eating healthy when I come here. :-) Even if it has quinoa and granola in the ingredients list though, a waffle probably isn't my healthiest option once I've applied the syrup. What it IS is really stinking good! I've been here a couple of times for breakfast so far, and though I tried a different entree each time, I am hooked on their juice blends. They are seriously refreshing. Be warned, if you wait much past 8am, you'll be in line for a while. Even during the week. The food is so much a step up for lunch. Fresh delicious salads, soups and sandwiches. My salad was so large I took half of it home. If you must have chips or fries with your sandwich, you best not go here. Only reason not a 5 star review was the bread that came with my salad. Oh my! Visiting College Station for the first time. Went for breakfast/brunch and it was sooo good came back the next day! The lemon ricotta pancakes were so good, I didn't even use syrup (which comes warm, btw). The ricotta is swirled into the pancake batter on the griddle, so it is not only pretty, but adds flavor and moisture in each bite! Love it! read more

The food is decent, although nothing mind-blowing. The problem here is purely time management. This location has been open for 2yrs now and is still incapable of seating you in a reasonable or even predictable amount of time. It's understandable if the wait is long, and they have a potentially great app for checking in ahead of time. But we have now tried to eat here multiple times where the app made no difference. Today we checked in 2 hours early (party of 6) on the app, and were told to arrive at 11:40. When we arrived right on time, we were told there were still 3 parties ahead of us and it would be another half hour. Already pretty unacceptable in my book. However, we waited that half hour, and were still not even the top of the list! It was now 12:15, after having checked in around 9:45, and we were still being told at least another 20min. The inability to manage crowds, check-ins, reservations, or even give a remotely honest wait time here means that we won't be returning. read more

I've visited First Watch twice with my daughter, and I was impressed with the menu, which had almost too many choices! Both times I was impressed with the service and the serving sizes in comparison with their higher-than-usual breakfast menu prices. I had to wait in line for quite a long time, and I felt sorry for the poor hostess, who was also the cashier and mobile app reservationist. She was working as hard and fast as she could, but too many duties are too many duties....shame on First Watch for not scheduling TWO hosts/hostesses at all times! I think I'll stick with the less modern breakfast/lunch places where the atmosphere is much cozier and more down-home. The prices are better and the hosting employees and waitpersons are more likely assigned what they can handle. I think reservations for people on mobile apps are the WORST idea ever...mainly because you have a restaurant with empty tables and loads of people standing in line who deserve to be seated on a "first come; first served" basis. Maybe First Watch will wake up and realize this "service" is more harmful than helpful to their $bottom line$...hope so!! read more

We used the No Wait app but still had to wait 30 extra minutes for the multiple open tables to be cleaned up. It seemed to have just sat there for a while. A suggestion for management would be to hire busboys to speed up the process or have the hostesses help during rush hours. The food was good but not worth the 1.5 hour wait. The food came out quick though. I would suggest eating here on the weekdays instead because it IS high quality breakfast/brunch. Given this place a shot multiple times. The food has been good once out of like the 10 times I've tried it. Service is always pretty terrible. Kara has been the only good server I've had. Everyone seems like they hate working there. The food is very inconsistent. The dishes are almost always dirty. Once I got a Togo order, two of the same thing. One for me and one for a friend. One looked great and the other looked like a completely different dish Bc it was so messed up. I really want to like this place but I've given up. It's not worth my money anymore. Today I had lunch at First Watch restaurant in college station on Texas Avenue. I have been to three different First Watch restaurants before. They have all been pretty good but my experience today was above excellent. Considering all that is going on and how many people were there during lunch this first watch restaurant did a fantastic job. I was able to be seated very quickly and the service was great! My servers name was Megan and she was a real sweetheart very nice and friendly and she was great at her job.Megan was always there asking me what else I needed and got it for me immediately and her personality made the experience wonderful. The manager Travis stopped by and said hi,he was friendly and talkative making me feel welcome like I was at home. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant again and I highly recommend it for anyone in college station who wants a delicious quick lunch experience. First watch is over all a very good/quick place to grab brunch. However, I always order my eggs poached because I like the runny taste to eat with my sides and Benedict. They've never quite gotten a poached egg right it's always overdone. I had specifically asked for poached egg on my sandwich and it was cooked all the way through. I then proceeded to ask for a side "extra" egg that is poached and to make sure it was runny. The egg came back and was still slightly overdone and I got charged an extra $1.79 for that extra egg that they barely got right. I REALLY want to love this place! This was our fourth visit...our first visit was fantastic (across the board), but the last three have failed miserably. Getting seated was a little slow, but service after that has been horrible. The waitresses were not very knowledgeable of the menu, never came around and our food took forever! It was packed, so I cut them a break; food was still great (beside allergy request ignored). This final time was the worst yet. There seem to be a lot of people "working" there, but no one with the few patrons there. (They were all in the kitchen). Is there not a regular hostess? Twice we were seated without silverware, and only at our first visit was a booster seat for our child offered. Where does the wait staff go? At our last 3 visits the waitresses disappeared. I couldn't even find them in the kitchen area. How long does it take to make a pancake and eggs? Ok, so this time they said the first pancake was burned and they made another...but it still shouldn't take as long as it did to make a dozen pancakes. Plus, my sandwich with egg was now cold and the avocado brown. To their credit, everyone was very nice and apologetic and the pancake was removed from our bill. My advice...light a fire under your wait staff. They obviously don't have any experience waiting tables, so train them well, teach them the menu, and hold them accountable. Which means paying attention to your customer...don't just ASK them what they need. If they have a child, find out which seat they need; if they have no silverware, bring it; and since they have a child...bring them extra napkins! Your job as a "waiter" is to WAIT on your customers! At 2 visits I had to walk to the kitchen WITH my filthy child to get napkins. Finally, if someone says there is an allergy...pass this information onto the cooks! Our 2nd and 3rd visits came with a huge scoop of melted butter on our pancakes after saying no dairy, butter, etc. One would think after this review that I am high maintenance. Couldn't be further from the truth. I am forever giving people the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, after giving First Watch multiple opportunities, we won't be back. This is unfortunate because BCS really needs more great breakfast options. read more

Love the ambiance. Very farmhouse and cozy. My husband and I lucked out and came on a rainy Friday morning at 8 am, and didn't have to wait! The iced coffee was very creamy and delicious, as was my Power Bowl. My husband enjoyed the cinnamon pancake, too! Our waitress was very friendly, however, we were not even given water and she rarely came to check on us. She got my order wrong and it got sent back to be re made, and it took a very long time, so I ended up canceling my order. My moms Eggs Benedict was also really cold. Staying in the area for the week and was looking for an alternative to hotel breakfast. Found this place first day and and ended up coming every morning. Lighter side options were awesome for someone who would be working outside all day. Coffee was probably the best I have had. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was running late one morning and they were able to get me out quickly. I think I am not alone, since I came later on my day off and it was very crowded. Would recommend coming when it first opens. The best place to get a brunch or morning meal. All the dishes are made by a top chef made from fresh local vegetables. The drinks are unique and heavenly. If you are going to use brunch as your claim to fame you should do it well. We sent the eggs back because they were raw and they came back a second time raw. Terrible service. Food was decent but it took 40 minutes to get 1 salad and a kids turkey sandwich with fruit. Another 10 minutes later the second salad came out. We complained to server who never once said "I'm sorry". In fact he tried to half blame us bc my cousin finally asked for them to just bring her salad out in a to-go box because we needed to leave. "It was coming out when you asked me to go box it up" was his excuse. I know someone else who had similar issues and could not speak to a manager because they were "too busy".
