Came here on a Saturday morning with my friends and the place was packed ! Luckily, we had just beat the big crowd so were seated relatively quickly. Our waitress was friendly and took our orders pretty quickly. She also gave us a coffee pot for our table which was nice since the place was getting really busy. I ordered the classic benedict. It was good, but the meat was actual ham instead of Canadian bacon that I thought most "classic" benedicts had. Nevertheless, the poached eggs were cooked nicely and the portions were good. You also get a salad which is a nice touch. The prices here seem pretty standard, with most dishes averaging about $11. Overall, friendly and fast service. Good food. First time to this First Watch and I have to say it was not bad. The service here was fast and friendly. The decor is unique and it creates a good atmosphere. The dining room was very clean. I like the open ceiling design. There is enough wood to keep a woodchuck happy and enough metal to keep welder employed for over year. I got the basic breakfast, the Traditional. It was two eggs, meat, potatoes, and toast. The eggs were cooked perfect and I absolutely loved the chicken sausage. They offer turkey and pork sausage as well so they got a lot of options for breakfast meats. As a lover of breakfast potatoes, I wasn't a hug fan of their diced taters as I didn't really like the seasoning and I thought they were a little too greasy. Our server was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The coffee was average but it was filled and refilled several times. The prices are a little high for a lot of college students but the food is fresh and high quality. If you are driving parking is an issue as they do not have their own lot so you gotta find your own space. This may not be a big deal if you are an Ohio State student living on campus and you can walk. They have a pretty diverse menu with a lot of options. I will come back to give them another try and order something different as there were a lot of options I saw others eating and looking at the menu. At the end of the day First Watch is a great option for the area so don't let my taste buds dissuade you from giving them a try. read more

I inadvertently came here on the first day that it opened and I'm glad that I did. I got the Heirloom tomato and Burrata toast and the Millionaire bacon and I'm telling y'all right now it was delicious. The toast had a little pouch of burrata cheese on it? Like seriously? I love that! The bacon was delicious! Definitely a place that I'm going to continue coming to and I'll be bringing my friends. This was the third time I had ordered from first watch and every time it was messed up. The first time I ordered my food smelled like smoke and it was cold. The second time I ordered they had forgotten part of the order. They were very nice and made good on what was wrong. But the third time my meal was an hour late and cold and they told me they would credit me back. I never received a refund as they stated and I even offered to drive the food back because they still brought it and I did not want it. They insisted I do not bring it back and they would refund me. Had the traditional breakfast with freshly scrambled eggs topped with chives, extra crispy (my request) thick bacon, perfectly crisped diced potatoes, thick cut toasted artisan bread, and fresh strawberry preserves! A great cup of coffee & water was provided with carafes too- nice touch. My more-than-enough breakfast (could have shared it) with coffee came just under $14.50- and was worth every penny! There was a Firstwatch near my hometown and I was excited to hear that they were opening on campus. However, to my disappointment I will not be revisiting this location. I ordered a side of bacon and got strips of charcoal with visible burnt spots. I'm appalled that the waitress and the cook decided to serve this. I later complained to the waitress and she said she would remake it for me, but I was just too disappointed by then. It costs $5 for a side of bacon... My party and I came in at 11am on Mother's Day. The guy at the front desk was extremely rude. We left and never will go back to this place.

Today, at approximately 12:45 p.m., my son and I walked down to this establishment for brunch. Since we've lived in the neighborhood for the past 12 years,we try to support new businesses as they spring up. We were seated by the very polite host. He gave us our menus and walked away. We browsed the menu,made our selections and we waited for the server greet us. 7 minutes later, a group of about 5 people were seated in the table behind us. Almost immediately, a server emerged and handed them menus. A minute later, the server returned with water for their table. My son and I are still waiting patiently. Another four minutes passes and by this time, I am growing impatient. The server continuously walked past without acknowledging us. Two minutes later, I had to flag the host down and tell him that a group of people(that came in 7 minutes after we were seated) were waited on before us and we were still waiting, 10 minutes later after we were seated. He apologized politely and asked if he could take my order,but I declined and decided to leave. I don't know if there's a system that you can implement to avoid these future issues but, I would greatly suggest it. I brought my sister and her boyfriend her for breakfast and they loved it. We waited a little longer than we would have liked but we were told about the app so that we can secure a spot in line without waiting at the restaurant so that will be nice for next time. Our server was on top of things and I noticed she had several other tables so I was impressed with how well she did with it being that busy. My first visit to First Watch. They opened a location near my work so I decided to grab a bite and see what the hype was all about. After looking over their menu I decided on their Biscuits and Turkey Sausage Gravy with Eggs (they include a serving of their seasoned potatoes). Everything tasted great, not one issue with any part of the food. My only complaint is the cost. $10 for this meal is a bit too much, along with much of the rest of their menu. I know they are more of a "healthy" breakfast alternative but healthy shouldn't always mean more expensive. I think $7-8 would be a better price for this. I like the fact that there is another alternative for breakfast other than Panera or Waffle House (eek), but as it is with many of these healthier food establishments the price scares some away. Would I eat here again? Yes, absolutely. How often? Maybe less than once/month. read more

Drive across town and we get there in about 25 min. Go to the counter and they have no record of us, I show them the text and they said they will sneak us in. 20 min goes by and about 20 people get seated ahead of us I get mad and walk out. We see a jimmy Johns we order food completely eat and are going back to the car now it's almost two hours from initial appointment making almost an hour from "we will sneak you in fast" and I just now get the text saying table is ready. Forget this place. Moral of the story is forget the whole grain crap food and eat some jimmy johns. Never going back to first waitlist again. read more

First Watch was such an amazing experience for us. It was Ohio State Football Saturday, pouring rain, and we showed up to see it was a 30 minute wait. Just shows how amazing the food must be if people are lining up! We opted for the community table which is open seating. We had the Farmhouse Hash Skillet - so delicious! It had the right amount of cheese, potatoes, avocados, and tomatoes. I would definitely have that again. We also had the Eggs Benedict (it was the seasonal braised short rib) and it did not disappoint! TL;DR: Good food, dirty glasses. Food is good and priced about right. Three meals with drinks and two sides came to $47. Service was fine but not great. We went on a busy Saturday morning after a home game, so that's to be expected. My principal complaint is that the water glasses and pitcher were dirty. I am picky about that kind of thing, but I'm not shocked if I find a couple floaties in the water at Waffle House or Bob Evans. But if I'm paying $15 per person, I should be able to drink clean water. And there were floaties folks, floaties galore. I'm sure I could have flagged down someone and gotten clean(er) glasses, but really, it's not my server's fault the dishes aren't being cleaned well. Furthermore, dirty water glasses indicates there may be a general lack of concern for cleanliness and hygiene in the back of house. And at these prices, I expect better. Edit: To their credit, First Watch offered to buy me and a friend breakfast. I went back on a weekday morning, and fortunately the water was clean. We waited 45+min to be seated only to be forgotten about by our "waitress." She then came 30 min later, and rushed us into immediately ordering so she could take our menus. A different lady came out with our food- which for the price was underwhelming- around 30 min later. As we began to eat our food, our "waitress" threw a check on our table (literally threw) and we never saw her again.
