Visited on father's day and they were clearly overwhelmed. We waited 15 minutes without seeing our server. A different server saw this and took our order and sent it to the kitchen. We then waited 50 minutes for our food. Our server only apologized after 45 minutes of waiting when I made it clear the wait time was unacceptable. The coffee is excellent, they leave a pitcher of water on the table, the fresh fruit is delicious and the staff is extremely friendly. Bad service and poor food. We all ordered the specials and they were disappointing. The toast was soggy and cold. They missed some of the ingredients advertised. When we complained we didn't get any apology other then the waitress said she would tell the kitchen. She forgot our water and we had to remind her again. I love this place. Everybody knows my name (and my kids name too) at First Watch in Crestview Hills. Great service, great food. I feel like they are my second family. They opened when I became pregnant with my twin boys and they were so happy for me. Then, when my boys were born, they loved them and would carry them around and show them off. Terrible management especially Mark who is very rude. I invited friends over and when it came to paying, the waitress came back in front of everyone and said that card was declined! I said there got be a mistake and called the credit card company and they said that there is no issue and they don't see any authorization at all! 3 more credit cards and all declined! then my friend used his and same thing. We called all credit cards and all the same answer no issues and no authorization coming through. Witness did not have any manner to handle this in a discrete way without making it obvious in front all? and manager said that we don't have any issues with our machine! I asked if anyone else had the same problem and manager was very illusional? then he asked him what do I want and that he will hang up the phone! same day they have a sign in the front indicating that they apologize for not accepting the gift card due to technical difficulties!!!! I really love First Watch. I'm a sucker for breakfast food, and any place that serves it all day long get's my vote right away! That being said, I definitely prefer the downtown location to this one. I find that this location is usually crowded with a long wait--and not much space to do that waiting in. While the staff is always very friendly and the food is great, I prefer a shorter wait time and a more open seating arrangement. Also, the parking isn't great-- even though there is a big lot you can't always find a place near First Watch. So, if that's important to you it's something to keep in mind. I know when I bring my grandmother I sometimes drop her off by the door to avoid having to walk from wherever I end up parking. Sometimes I feel like I'm sitting at a table that was a last minute thought and is so small it's hard to get all the food (don't judge me) in front of you. They do offer carryout, which is nice if you can call it in and pick it up, then you get the benefit of the fabulous food without the wait! The prices are good and the menu is diverse and it's definitely a great place for breakfast or brunch, but if you have the time I'd say hop on downtown for a slightly better overall experience. read more

First Watch has been a favorite of ours. We were disappointed the Covington location was closed. I arrived at the Town Center location. It is a popular location. Today, it was NOT busy....I asked if I could have a booth as I have a knee injury. 5...10...15 minutes..... The table and several others were cleared....then new customers came in...and were seated...and seated...and seated....I'm looking toward the Cashier/Host hoping for relief.... When I approached the Host.....She was not aware I was waiting...the original 'host' came up and asked if I "was ready to be seated"?...............The staff at the new location has been a little sloppy regarding seating....customers....orders etc. We still love First Watch....the First Watch in Covington NEVER had so many errors and hosts/hostesses not keeping track of the customers. Very disappointed, not in an error...but in the way it was handled....or not handled. read more

My husband and I have been back twice since the incident that prompted me to write the first review. It looks like they have upped their vigilance about allergies. I noticed on the check that it was written and rang in with the notice. So, that's comforting. The food is okay. Not bad, not amazing. It's not my favorite place, but it's kind of become a tradition for my husband and I to go before heading to the Gorge every spring (hence, the two visits).
