    First Watch Towne Lake!
    Melanie J.

Such a great local breakfast spot with the perfect setting at Towne Lake! The food quality is great always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Menu options are sooo good! Service is amazing, everyone is super friendly especially Ieisha and Bella! The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to again and again. Great place to eat and go for a walk to the lake.

Moldy fruit! Checked in online- said 15-20 minute wait. We then get to first watch about 15 minutes later, and they told us it's going it be another 15-20 minutes later wait. They need a better system for online check ins. Our server was awesome. A quick in and out brunch. However, very disappointed on the temperature of the food (warm but borderline not as warm as fresh cooked should be) and MOLDY fruit! Pineapple was very mushy and so were the grapes. And the strawberries were the worst part. This is unacceptable to be put on someone's plate.

This place brings authentic Deep South flavors and hospitality straight to Texas, and every single bite reminded me of home-cooked meals from down South. The signature chicken tenders were crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, and seasoned to perfection, easily some of the best I've had anywhere. Paired with their seasoned dirty rice, their fluffy, buttery biscuits and perfectly seasoned french fries, it was a match made in heaven. I also had to try the famous Bo Berry biscuit, and it did not disappoint, warm, sweet, bursting with blueberries and that classic glaze that makes it impossible to stop at just one. Of course, no Southern meal is complete without a tall cup of sweet tea, and theirs was exactly what I hoped for: strong, refreshing, and perfectly sweetened like grandma made it. The portions are generous, the food is fresh and full of flavor, and the whole experience felt like a warm Southern welcome. If you're looking for that genuine Deep South taste without leaving Texas, Streets Chicken is the spot. Highly recommend. ! I'll definitely be back for more! Rod Gray Cypress, TX

My wife and I were sharing and she settled on the Steak Biscuit breakfast sandwich because she'd heard it tastes like the old Grandy's steak biscuit (I don't remember ever eating at Grandy's). We ordered on the app and picked up in the drive thru. The attendant was friendly and told us to pull up to the stop sign to wait for fresh food. The Steak Biscuit and Bo-Tato Rounds came out hot. I liked the biscuit, but the steak was too thin and got lost. My wife said, "It kind of tastes like Grandy's, but Grandy's was better," it has to have been 40 years since she's eaten there. The real star for me was the Bo-Tato Rounds! I would go back just for those. They were hot, flaky and just greasy enough to have that forbidden "it's bad for you" tater bliss!

When it showed up I was amazed by the large pile of food. As I began to eat though, I started to get disappointed. I cut into my fried egg expecting it to run all over my plate, but it seems like it was cooked somewhere between over medium and over hard. I was looking for tasting the hot honey, which appears to be under the dish as opposed to on top of it. I was looking forward to a soft fluffy biscuit, but it too was over hard. The Chicken was well cooked, a bit thin, and I'm not sure that the breading tasted anything more like Captain crunch than it did any other breading. However every time I cut into it the breading kind of just fell off into the gravy. The gravy and potatoes were redeeming, with good flavor gravy and well cooked potatoes. Overall, it wasn't bad, I ate it all, I just expected better for my $17.

We have had multiple different dishes and each one have been proportioned enough that we have taken leftovers home to enjoy later. As anyone who organizes group dinners knows, once a reservation is canceled, it's difficult to get everyone together again. Tonight, we were finally able to meet with a smaller group. I ordered the sea bass, which was served with new potatoes, carrots, and asparagus. Unfortunately, the fish didn't seem to be cooked consistently, and the vegetables lacked flavor and seasoning. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Nutella cheesecake. I also ordered a cappuccino with dessert, but it didn't arrive until we were about two-thirds of the way through eating. Even worse, it was cold. I'm not particularly picky about my coffee, but if I noticed it was cold, it was definitely cold. Overall, the experience was fair. It took quite a while to receive our checks, even after we requested them, despite the restaurant not appearing busy. While my check was correct, other guests experienced issues, and there seemed to be some confusion regarding how the bill should be split. We were never asked beforehand. We also waited more than 45 minutes for a small to-go box and eventually repacked our food ourselves. I've visited two other JTR locations, and both the food and service were noticeably better. I was excited to finally have one open closer to home, but unfortunately this visit left a lot to be desired.

It's been quite a long time since I was here and as I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop by again today. Remembering how good they were last time, I ordered the Oma's Frikadellen (grandma's recipe for all-beef meatballs). I like a good German meatball and these were tender and juicy. There was a choice of red cabbage or sauerkraut as a side; having confirmed they made the sauerkraut in-house themselves, had to order that because I know it's super healthy to eat. Better yet, that sauerkraut was almost perfect with a great flavor, but not too tart and just really a delicious version. Honestly I could've eaten a huge bucket load of that sauerkraut and I may buy some to go someday just to have it on hand in my refrigerator; a slight warm and it would be a wonderful side to serve guests. Dessert was a wow! I wanted to try a dessert that they made themselves and so I couldn't help but go with one of the dessert specials of the day. There were several options available not on the menu and although it was tempting to try the tiramisu or one of the three versions of crème brûlée they make, I decided to go with their homemade limoncello cake which turned out to be a delicious choice that I'm very happy about. Waiter Ty said it was one of his favorite desserts here and I could taste why -- moist cake, flavor-filled filling, whipped cream and with blueberries to decorate the plate. In fact it was so yummy that I decided that so someday soon I would order one with a couple days notice and then take it to my family's place next time I go over for dinner - what I don't know is whether I'll tell them the truth or try and pretend that I made it myself LOL :-) Update: the next day I did call to order an entire cake and it didn't last very long once the family dug in, got gobbled up because it had an intense great lemon flavor, wonderful.

The steak was honestly the highlight of the meal. It was cooked well, flavorful, and easily the best thing on the plate. Unfortunately, everything else ranged from mediocre to disappointing. The fried onion rings were extremely salty and just not enjoyable. The mashed potatoes were also overly salty, which made them hard to eat. The cream corn was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. What Mia's Table does really well is the atmosphere. The restaurant has a lively, family friendly environment, and it was packed when I visited. They also have a self serve ice cream bar, which is a nice touch for families with kids. If I were rating solely based on ambiance and overall vibe, I would probably give it 4 stars. The frustrating part is that I spent about $26 on my meal and ended up only really enjoying the steak. For that price point, I expected the sides to be just as good as the main dish. Overall, a great atmosphere and a solid steak, but the food quality was too inconsistent for me to rate it any higher.
