Over time, I have realized that Mia's Table always serves good food. Recently I visited this location for the first time and realized this restaurant is a little smaller than the Gessner location that I frequent the most. However, it is tastefully decorated inside with a somewhat unique inclusion of area high school banners on the wall giving it a real local feel to this location. While most people sit inside they do offer an outdoor covered patio if you wish. I ordered the grilled chicken breast entree for $17. I chose mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans as it's 2 side dishes. After getting my drink at their self serve drink machine area, I found an empty table and only waited about 10 minutes for my food to arrive, The boneless chicken breasts had grill marks on them and were hot and tasty. They had good flavor. The green beans and mashed potatoes also were also very good tasting. With a slice of Texas Toast I enjoyed this meal and would order it again. Mia's Table is a winner. I recently tried Mia's Table and came away with mixed feelings. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye steak with mashed potatoes, cream corn, and fried onion rings. The steak was honestly the highlight of the meal. It was cooked well, flavorful, and easily the best thing on the plate. Unfortunately, everything else ranged from mediocre to disappointing. The fried onion rings were extremely salty and just not enjoyable. The mashed potatoes were also overly salty, which made them hard to eat. The cream corn was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. What Mia's Table does really well is the atmosphere. The restaurant has a lively, family friendly environment, and it was packed when I visited. They also have a self serve ice cream bar, which is a nice touch for families with kids. If I were rating solely based on ambiance and overall vibe, I would probably give it 4 stars. The frustrating part is that I spent about $26 on my meal and ended up only really enjoying the steak. For that price point, I expected the sides to be just as good as the main dish. "Crispy Onion Rings + Classic Comfort Food" 02-06-26 This place came highly recommended by a coworker, and I must say, it was worth the risk of trying something new. My husband and I came for an early Friday evening dinner, and we were genuinely impressed. Customer service was good, not over the top, but definitely decent and pleasant. The atmosphere felt comfortable and inviting. They played a nice mix of music (blues, soul, Tejano, light rock, country, and more) at a mid-volume on the overhead speakers. There were also mounted flat-screens, but they weren't turned on, which I actually didn't mind. One of the coolest perks is the self-serve ice cream station, and the ice cream is delicious. It has that old-fashioned, rich vanilla flavor, like the 1950s when food tasted much better. On top of that, although not self-serve, they also have a "Shakes & Malts and Warm Cookies" station, which is such a fun touch. The dining area is large with plenty of seating options, (booths and tables), and everything looked clean and tidy. They also have a self-serve beverage station that was clean and well-stocked. Now for the best part: the food! Just a heads-up, this place believes in large portion sizes, and I'm not mad at it! I ordered the Mississippi Catfish Platter, and it was loaded. It came with 4 large catfish pieces, Texas toast, onion rings, and two sides. I chose the creamy whipped potatoes and coleslaw. My husband ordered the Mississippi Catfish with fried shrimp and French fries, and his plate also came with Texas toast and onion rings. I tasted one of his shrimp and it was delectable! OMG! My only complaint is that the fish could have been fried a little crispier with a little crunch to it. It was just too soft for my liking. So many people have been recommending this place to me and I got tired of hearing it so I had to go try it for myself and I will say that their fried chicken is absolutely delicious. It is worth the 15 minute wait like they told me it would be. the seasoning was on Point. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I got the steak salad which looked amazing on the picture. I ordered it medium rare. When I got my food it was it looked like a pile of spinach with a few fajita steak strips, nothing like what I thought I ordered. Some of the steak pieces were over cooked and chewy. My son got the chicken strips and they were just ok. My daughter got Mac and cheese. Both are better at chic fila. The self serve ice cream was good but other than that I was not impressed. To top it all off 30 minutes after I ate I started feeling ill, sweating, and everything came up and out! So needless to say I wouldn't go back. My friend suggested we try this place and I'm so glad we did! As the sign suggests "Southern Comfort Food" and they have it aplenty. Anything southern you could want. My friend had the chicken fried steak with real baked beans, not the fake ones some restaurants try to pass off and mashed potatoes with gravy; side note: their gravy is jalapeño gravy and I have mixed feelings about that, but my friend said it was good.... I'll take her word on that. I had a "Sides Plate" their version of a veggie platter, with Mac-n-cheese, sweet potato fries and hang on to your seats folks..... creamed corn! Yep you read that right.... creamed corn! The M&C was creamy delicious as were the SP fries and the creamed corn was top notch it was a bit on the peppery side as they seem to use white pepper so beware to the young and elderly who may be sensitive to pepper. They also have a free ice cream cone station which I was entirely too full to hit up. I highly recommend a trip out to check them out whenever you're looking for some good comfort food. We thought the food would be out of a box, pBut we were thoroughly surprised when we got our food and it was freshly made. We had catfish, shrimp, and a burger. It was really good. I've only ordered through Uber Eats so far and haven't been in the restaurant but the food is so good!! I had to try my granddaughter's gluten-free burger the other day and it was so yummy. I've ordered gluten-free burgers from there now and I'm not even gluten sensitive. The mac & cheese is amazing, the baked beans are amazing, per my husband the ribs are amazing. I don't know what's the definition of southern food here but places like IHOP and Denny's can do some of these dishes better...the only the good thing is that my country fried steak were made fresh because it was hot. The crust however doesn't even stick on the steak itself and it was definitely excess of batter where some pieces doesn't even have any meat in it. Also the steak itself was dry so to speak. Furthermore ordering a cheeseburger with omitting some of the ingredients and ended up just getting a plain dry cheeseburger even if it wasn't instructed otherwise. The food is good and there are a lot of options. The frozen Margaritas are pretty good and there are a couple of lemonades at the fountain drink station that are really good. I had the shrimp tacos which were flavorful. My mom had the catfish plate which she loved, but I thought the fish needed to be seasoned better. Mashed potatoes were a tad thicker than gravy. Just flat in the bowl. The potato salad was all mashed potato with far too much relish or whatever is used to flavor it. And the ice cream machine..it was frozen icy something. Definitely not consistency of ice cream. And cone dispenser was empty. Overall this location seemed to have a different recipe for their food than other locations? IMO, keep driving down 610 to the Bellaire location. Or even the Upper Kirby location. Time for Mr Carrabba to sell these stores off before they ruin his reputation. Don't get me wrong the food is amazing. Yet the past four visits to the Cypress store leaves me unwilling to ever go back. First visit brought friends in from Tennessee to enjoy to great cfs...order was rung in correctly and our receipt showed it. Had no one visit our table besides when the wrong food was dropped off. The next two visits placed online provided specific details, 1: click a button of your arrival and parking spot and 2: when your order will be ready for pick up. In tonight's experience order was placed at 7:30 told food ready by 8. Didn't get my order until 8:37 and had to walk in as apparently they no longer greet cars in the take out spots. Not sure what is worst cfs and tacos taking a little over an hour for those items or having the manager informed me they don't use the click button you have to call and no one comes out to the take out spots. If only that had been our experience in previous visits to back to the opening of their woodlands location. read more

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants to get a good homemade southern cooked meal. I've tried almost everything on the menu here and it's all made with love. If you try the fried chicken, it is a must to have the jalapeño cream gravy, it's delicious! The green beans are a great side option as they are cooked with bacon and onions. I'd also suggest the mashed potatoes, they are so fresh and buttery! It was my first time eating inside and I enjoyed how the restaurant made you feel at home.
