We stop in often for a yummy breakfast after dropping the kids to school. Very clean restaurant with fast service. They greet you happily and generally get you seated quickly, unless late morning, then there is a line and the place is packed. The juice drinks are a great change from normal orange juice. Front hostess was overwhelmed trying to seat everyone and didn't take advantage of the available bar seating that is on a first come first serve basis. We ordered the short rib poutine hash which was delicious. You can't go wrong with crispy potatoes, cheese, and eggs topped with delicious brown gravy. I usually always get whatever special has they offer because it has never failed me. My husband always gets the Trifecta but with a pancake instead of a waffle. The food was good as always but just getting served was more difficult than it should have been. We rolled in, in our mini van and couldn't wait to dive into the different combos in the menu. Everything was absolutely unique and very tasty!!! After an evening of one hard migraine my sister thought it would be a great idea to recover with a nice breakfast. Man oh man was she right! Parking is limited. As we walked in, the social distant markers are on the floor. They had a table set up for APP Meal pick ups including their own online order pickup. The restaurant it self is well maintained with cleanliness. The servers were wearing mask. For us the music was too loud, forced echo through the restaurant. So we chose to have breakfast outside on the patio. The patio is equip with a wonderful overhang for those hot summer Florida days. They also have two large fans to help circulate the air. There are limited patio tables which fits with social distancing. Once seated our server was swift in carrying coffee with her, in the off chance we wanted coffee. Of course we went directly for their fresh juices. Normally I would choose the Morning Meditation (its my favorite!) Today I was shown the new beverage added to the menu which was Watermelon Mint. Of course I took the option to have the added vitamin boost shot! My sister chose the ever so lovely Kale Tonic. Both were enjoyable and highly recommend. For breakfast my sister had the Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash. She didn't get the chorizo. Still loved every bit of it. Her recommendation is scratch the chipotle crema and replace it with spicy salsa and maybe Jack Cheese only. I chose my always favorite AM Superfoods bowl as it is the one menu item that is plant-based. I do choose their potato's over their almond butter toast. TOTALLY WORTH A TRY. Our server was great! Though I can not remember her name, she had a grilled cheese sandwich tattoo on her arm. (which I loved!) I would recommend this location for ALL AGES. read more

My first experience with First Watch was the location on Sand Lake about 3 years ago and I really enjoyed it. About 2 years they built a location in Champions Gate and although it got off to a rocky start the location steadily improved. It's still a very small location and so I was super excited when they opened this new location in Posner Park. Upon my first visit we were greeted by one of the managers and he told us that this was one of their largest locations and it definitely feels that way. We've been here about a 1/2 dozen times and so far we've never had to wait, which is awesome. If you are worried about the wait, you can download the app and check in ahead of time to reduce your wait time upon arrival. I was very much opposed to this idea at first. I didn't want to download an app just for this restaurant, but now that there are multiple locations close to me it really comes in handy. The food at First Watch is good, albeit a little hipster (avocado toast anyone?). My favorite thing is the banana crunch pancake. When I was pregnant this was one of my go to's. The pancake has banana and granola baked into it. Yum! You can also get the trifecta which comes with a pancake (which they'll make any flavor you want), 2 eggs, and bacon or sausage for $10. This is what I frequently get. Around this time of year they do a special cinnamon chip pancake which is also really good. I love hot sauce on my eggs and First Watch has the good stuff (Cholula). It may sound silly, but if a restaurant only has tabasco, then I'll just deal without. Kids meals are $5 and come with fresh squeezed juice and fresh fruit. My son likes the eggs and sausage. If we come for lunch I'm a huge fan of the ham and gruyere melt and the tomato soup. My son loves the grilled cheese. So far our service at this location has been outstanding. I'm really glad to have another option so close by. read more

I was excited to see this had opened so my friend and I went to check it out today. Now I love a good breakfast/brunch...the only thing I like better is a good Benedict. Watch has three Benedicts to pick from...I ended up with the BLT Benedict. We were later going ...12:30; so not the breakfast rush and lunch didn't seem to be an issue. They were not busy at all...makes following the COVID rules easier (saw no visible problems). For some reason, 30 minutes had past and no food. Our server came by and promised it was on the way out. Close to 10 minutes more she returned with our food. Sooooo...a good Benedict depends on a good hollandaise and a perfect poached egg. The BLT comes with bacon, vine-ripened tomato, and avocado. Ever notice a breakfast place serves so much food you swear there's no way you'll finish it all...OR...first look has you wondering where you'll next meal will be. Now to be honest part of this is because it looks healthy on the plate. The Benedict is served with lemon-dressed arugula...pretty plain and should have substituted the potatoes! As for the perfect poached egg...it was a little under and still dripping water. And the hollandaise was drowned out by the egg yolks. When our server came back with the bill, she informed me that she adjusted the check due to the long delay and preparing the Benedict.. Still not sure what the issue was! I came here on a Sunday at around 10 am and it wasn't too busy. We ordered the chocolate chip pancake, the egg sandwich and the trifecta. Super kid friendly menu and ambiance, the sandwich was delicious and the potatoes were nice and crispy. The trifecta was great and customizable. I highly recommend waffles or pancakes. Purple haze was pretty good but it was basically just a pretty lemonade. Everything seemed clean and well organized. We received our food very quickly and had very little wait. My only complaint is that they didn't have a variety of coffee options. Just black or cold brew. This place isn't trendy or upscale, but it's not meant to be. Great food awesome service from both of our waiters they were truly on the ball even though the large order couldve have gotten lost in the shuffle among all the quite picky eaters we had in our party. They were alert and very detailed with every selection we made. I chose the carrot and pecan multigrain pancakes just for kicks and the smoked salmon. My pancakes had fresh carrot shivers and I lovr that. My drink was delightful I had the morning wakeup i believe it was red in color with packed with lots of nutritional value which is always a plus for me . The food is really good here but the coffee is overpriced and sooooo bad. We usually have water then go to Starbuck's (located in the parking lot) afterwards. As far back as 1999, I was using US 27 as my stop before the theme parks on my drives from Tampa to Orlando. So, on a recent trip with my friend to Universal from Tampa, I chose US 27 to stop and get gas and breakfast. My friend was craving Waffle House. So we stopped, parked on the crumbling asphalt, and while walking up to the grimy Waffle House, a woman peeked out of the filthy door and screamed "Take out only!" So we left. After a quick web search, I realized there was this First Watch on the other side of I-4, so we stopped there. Comparing First Watch to Waffle House might be like comparing apples and oranges. The restaurant is in a newish plaza, freshly paved. The windows are clean. The interior is spotless. The staff was friendly for 8am. The menu options were what I expect from First Watch. The food was good. It was plated appealingly. The price was probably the same if not cheaper than Waffle House. The décor looks like First Watch bought a corporate template from Chip and Joanna Gaines - complete with shiplap and modern wavy wall tile. But at least it was clean and new. COVID Stuff: I visited in June 2021. At this time, the CDC has said that vaccinated persons can go without masks in public places. There were signs up encouraging patrons who are not vaccinated to wear a mask. I am one of the 40% of Floridians that are vaccinated, yet 100% of the patrons were not wearing a mask.
