I have eaten at a First Watch in Tulsa, OK which was excellent. In Daytona, FL it was awful. The potatoes were so salty they were inedible. They gave us cheese grits instead and it's plain grits with shredded cheese on top. The Smoked Salmon Benedict hollandaise had so much lemon in it that it masked the flavor of the entire dish. The breakfast sandwich and omelette were good but not excellent. Servers were very nice. The management has to improve food or they won't stay in business. read more

Went for my mom's birthday since she's been really wanting to go, sat at the community table because it was just her and I. Took 20 minutes just for a server to take our order. Sat for another 30 minutes before our server realized our food still had not come which was ok because it was busy. For then my food to come out my scrambled eggs were under cooked and they forgot my mom's bacon. After breakfast I did not feel good and all I had was the eggs and bacon with some of my fruit cup. We usually have a great breakfast at First Watch! It's worth the 25 mile drive. It was Father's Day and quite busy so I am sure the kitchen was swamped but the million dollar bacon was terrible! All greasy and not cooked well surprising since I asked for crispy!!!Our waiter put in for some better cooked bacon but I was already finished with my waffle and eggs by the time it came out so I didn't take it!! My two granddaughters and I had a delicious breakfast at First Watch this morning. I had oatmeal, and the girls both ordered from the kids' menu and were served generous portions. The hostess was friendly and helpful as we entered, and we received service very quickly. Our server, Rachel, was terrific. She helped me sort out questions about allergens, she immediately connected with the children, and she was prompt and efficient. Of course, restaurants are about the food, but it's the people that work there who determine if a meal is comfortable and enjoyable. Rachel made our breakfast delightful today. Thanks! :) read more

Mine and my husband's first time here. When you first walk up, it is perceived as a traditional sit-down take your order kind of restaurant, but it's not! You get in line place your order with a hostess, get your drinks and pick a table. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I chose outdoor cause it was a lovely day. Our first order to come out was our poppers, appetizer. These are delicious. For $10.49, you get about 8 or so poppers with some ranch, and they're really yum! It's cheddar cheese on the inside with chopped of pieces of some more jalapeños inside of the jalapeño. As my entree, I ordered a large grilled chicken garden salad for $9.49. In my salad, there was red onion, croutons, mixed greens, shredded carrots, green peppers, and some cheese. I chose ranch as my dressing, and it was a really good ranch. My husband ordered the fish dinner, and the fish he got was red fish. This plate cost $15.49. My husband said this was the best red fish he's ever had. His plate came with 2 very large fish portions and 2 sides. Over all this place was good food. Not my favorite but I would definitely come back. Just stopped here on the way back home to NC and was impressed with the service and quality of the food! There was a bit of a wait but they text you when you're ready and then give you the choice to eat inside or outside. Considering this Florida heat - eating inside was a no brainer. We started out with the Kale Tonic which was super cold and refreshing. We also got hot teas which comes with a whole platter of lemons, honey packets and your choice of several teas (green tea, pomegranate, breakfast tea etc.) For entrees I got the half club and half kale salad - both of which were super filling. The kale salad comes with chicken and almonds too so I was able to load up on protein. We also got a pancake which is huge and comes with warmed maple syrup! There are numerous businesses and restaurants in the shopping plaza, so parking is not an issue at all. Inside, the restaurant has a modern rustic look and feel and the kitchen is open/visible to see the cooks. There was about a 20-30 minute wait for a table, but it went quick. Gave a chance to really look over the menu to make decisions and have questions for confirmation by the server. The server was beyond friendly and helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. Take the server's suggestion...they know what's good! Ha! My food is always served hot and fresh within minutes of ordering, and the service is excellent--something that is hard to come by these days. Today I tried a tea off their seasonal menu. Called Red Medicine, It was yummy, made from pomegranate and cranberry juice, black tea, honey and cinnamon. I also had a Market Hash with tons of veggies including huge mushrooms and chunks of shallot mixed with done-just-right breakfast potatoes with herbed goat cheese. My mom had the lemon ricotta pancakes with lemon curd sauce and strawberries served with warmed syrup. The prices here are just the same as other breakfast restaurants, but the food quality is much higher. This is always our go-to for breakfast. read more

Stopped into grab a bite to eat before going shopping at the nearby Tanger Outlet. The restaurant is located directly across from the Daytona Beach Speedway, in the same strip center as Gold's Gym and Smoothie King. With plenty of parking available and enough indoor and outdoor seating, not to mention the gluten free bread option that they offer. This is a great pit stop if your traveling through town, seeing as it's not too far from the highway. The only caveat is, it can get loud in the restaurant. I'm not sure who decided to design all of the First Watch restaurants but if you're looking to have a nice conversation with your family, date, or bff I'm not sure this is the place to do it. The acoustics make it very hard to hear the person sitting at the table across from you and it can be quite annoying. My suggestion is to go early in the a.m. or before they close at 2:30 pm. I ordered the Monterey Club with Gluten-free bread and a side of potatoes along with a pecan crunch pancake. The food is great. With fresh ingredients and a nice presentation to go along with it, I'm always delighted to come in and grab a healthy bite to eat. The servers are friendly, very helpful and polite. The bathrooms are clean and the atmosphere is very hipster meets farm. Overall, 4 stars for this place. I would have given it 5 but the sound deterred me from doing so. read more

People were already in front of me as I came in, which suggested to me this was going to be a good brunch. I'm one that believes a great restaurant experience combines great food with client-centered service where servers get quality time with their clients and aren't rushed by having too many tables to wait on simultaneously. There were plenty of great options on the menu. The classics aren't for the faint of heart either. The traditional breakfast plate was my brunch for the day, and was enough to share with another person. I had a similar plate at a hotel cafe in Louisville, KY. I've been here quite a lot for brunch. And every time I walk through those doors, the wait staff always greeted me warmly and our waitress/waiter is always accommodating. They keep the restaurant clean and you can see the bustling and hustling in the back of the kitchen. So you know they're always on top of it when it comes to organization and cleanliness. As soon as they seat us, they always ask us if we want coffee or any drinks on the menu. I always order their pressed juice "Morning Meditation" to jump start my day. My husband and I like to order different things on the menu even though we're usually ones to order the same thing over and over again. This time I ordered one of their "power bowl" with Italian sausage and kale. As soon as I took a bite, I knew I would order it again. There are a few tweaks that can be added to the dish. The first would be a little bit of sodium (salt) since the quinoa was watery and drowned some of the seasoning. And maybe adding a dash of lemon to give it a kick. Despite that, it was still fulfilling and was savory, which I look for in a dish. Jumping to another time line; a week ago I dropped by and ordered something light before continuing my day. I ordered their "pumpkin soup" but was told that they ran out so they substitute it with broccoli cheddar soup without my consent for change. They don't usually do this, so I was thrown off with this service. Now this came out a bit disappointing. The soup came in cold and the bread warm. Needless to say, I didn't get to finish the rest of it. Tasted like it was homemade with love. From the house potatoes down to the gravy, everything was top of the line. We also got Kale Tonic & Red Medicine fresh juices. The Kale tonic was perfect for any time of the day, and wonderfully made. Not too much of one ingredient or the other. The Red Medicine is beautiful to look at, and just as amazing to drink. - we both added the immunity boost & couldn't taste it in the drinks at all. It's spotlessly clean and has that sort of "with it" up to date both in décor and offerings along with super polite friendly service. For my meal I had their "Frittata Rustic." Whether or not this was a true frittata as started on the stove top and finished in an oven I have no way of knowing however in frittata tradition the filling of kale, Cremini mushroom, tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan cheese were definitely mix with the egg in the pan rather than folded in the middle. Overall it was tasty with a full mushroom flavor and had an excellent texture. I found it a surprising good dish as well as one that was innovative and as a culinary work, inspiring. read more

Always been a fan of First Watch, and our first time at the Daytona location did not disappoint. We were seated immediately. It wasn't overtly crowded on early Sunday morning. Staff wears masks, which is nice and there's also outdoor seating. Ordered our drinks Red Medicine and Morning meditation, since we're not coffee drinkers. The avocado toast is my go to and was delicious. Hubs got his go to, the farmhouse skillet hash and it was gone in mere seconds. I've been looking very much forward to writing this review after dining twice at one of the newest culinary establishments to find itself in Daytona Beach. First impressions are so important and at First Watch, no matter how insanely busy the employees are, you are always greeted with a smile and personalized attention. From the moment you walk in, you can smell the freshness of the food and the delicious aroma of just-brewed coffee. That is what this restaurant was built upon- food made-to-order, with the finest ingredients for the freshest taste. It doesn't get much better than that, or so you may think... The menu is chock-full of incredibly delicious selections. To start, you can, and should, try their Million Dollar Bloody Mary. It's not on the menu but their mix is so good and you will get to experience their "Million Dollar Bacon" garnish that is to-die-for! If you prefer something a little lighter, try the Kale Tonic- a sweet and refreshing concoction made fresh with Kale, Fuji apple, cucumber and lemon. So good!! The Elevated Egg Sandwich (one of my faves) is an over-easy cage-free egg with Gruyere cheese, bacon, fresh chunky avocado, mayo and lemon-dressed arugula on a beautiful brioche bun, beside wonderfully seasoned potatoes. Delish! On the fruity side- you should try the popular Rainbow Toast. Fresh blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, mango and their delightful granola on a ricotta-covered brioche toast with a local honey drizzle. I also tried the "Everything" Smoked Salmon Benedict and it was Heaven on a plate. Two poached cage-free eggs on a toasted ciabatta with Wild Alaska Smoked Sockeye Salmon, whipped cream cheese, red onions, topped with a velvety hollandaise, and sprinkled with "everything" bagel spice. Served with a lightly lemon dressed mixed greens. Outstanding! I've saved the best for last... (drum roll, please) It's called "Million Dollar Bacon" and it surpasses anything your mind could possibly imagine as being better than regular bacon. I didn't think it was possible to make bacon better, not did I think that bacon needed to be improved upon- but First Watch DID it! They took their own signature hardwood smoked bacon and lightly coated it with brown sugar, black pepper, a pinch of cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle. It's mind-blowing! I can't recommend this delightful addition highly enough. Go early- as they are almost always busy! I mean, it's definitely worth the wait, but the wait time can be frustrating. I am a fan of the First Watch Franchise so what I have to say is more of a reflection of this location and not the franchise. I did go two days in a row and got a different experience both times. However the food itself was consistent and delicious. I personally think they should be known for making some of the best pancakes in the industry. I had their special both times, cinnamon chip pancake. Off the chain!!! In addition I had a Turkey omelet which was flavorful. My wife had a morning meditation and Am breakfast and it's amazing! Now for the staff- I have mixed reviews. The first day we had a blonde girl (didn't catch her name) attending us. She seemed a bit short with us, not sure if she was having a rough day but if she was then she showed it. We asked her more than 3x times for extra napkins and eventually needed to get someone else to get us napkins. She brought out the syrup and they are known to have it warm but this wasn't warm so I requested for it to be warmed or have another and that seemed to be received with a bit of a tude! She was not good! The next day I had Marisa tend to me and she was sweet and tended to the table with excellence. 8/14/2022 I just left this first watch very disappointed after I got in the door the lady that was taking peoples names saw me and proceeded to talk to the person behind me. Then she said I thought you were with those people... and I wasn't no where near them. I gave her my name and asked her if it's ok if we sat outside since the had all the tables open except for one she proceeded to tell me that she had 13 people ahead of me and that she needed to ask them if they didn't want the outside tables lol. Shouldn't you have asked them while you were putting their names on the list "we have open tables outside if you prefer" Restaurant is beautiful... love first watch... but please get a better hostess.
