Our bartender/server was Lashone and she was funny, fast and friendly! She was pouring drinks for the ENTIRE restaurant and didn't miss a beat!! The breakfast menu is small but everything sounded fantastic. I chose the Steak Tacos; my husband chose the brie and bacon frittata (added by the chef since the quiche was sold out. Steak tacos were delicious (see pic). Menu said they had steak, cheesy scrambled eggs, tomato salsa, breakfast potatoes and cilantro. I didn't see or taste any potatoes, but the tacos were still delicious! I'd only recommend draining the salsa through a sieve because of the excess juice affecting the integrity of the tortilla. My husband's frittata was awful. The eggs were dry; he compared them to "eggs at the bottom of the warming tray at a cheap breakfast buffet." The chef also served a side salad alongside. My husband asked about subbing potatoes and Ms. Lashone made it happen. She was the star of our brunch: drinks were delicious, the conversational quips were quick and funny. She was attentive without being intrusive and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. 5 stars for her and my food; 1 for the frittata. I don't want to average it and tank the rating. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the shower was wonderful. Cons: There are bars/nightclubs nearby; our room faced the main street and it was pretty loud out there until around midnight. The temperature in the room seemed off - at 74° we were freezing, but at 77° we were sweating. The walls are very thin; we could hear our neighbors on both sides having conversation. If you arrive later in the day and you can find a parking spot on the street, grab it because metered parking is free Monday through Saturday between 5 pm and 8 am and free all day Sunday.

I feel the bathroom could use a remodel because the sink drains were clogged, and the bathroom felt very outdated. The room was spacious though with two queen beds, a chair and very cold A/C. It also had a nice tv in the room too. Beds also felt very comfortable which is nice for a hotel. I definitely would consider this hotel again now that my expectations are a little lower on what to expect. The hotel bar was always dead without anyone around, but the lobby in it of itself was very spacious and accommodating. I also really enjoyed how many things that were walkable around downtown Fredericksburg from the hotel. A ton of breweries, the river front, and restaurants were all within a mile to walk which made it a breeze. It's a very small town with not a lot going on during the week but it did the job.

I paid $16. and change. Not worth it to me, and especially considering the service. The staff seemed like I was bothering her and I was an inconvenience. I am passionate about supporting small local owned businesses vs chains but I will take my business elsewhere going forward. I enjoyed the Casey's Sangria - a whites sangria made with Prosecco. The shrimp and grits was delicious. The smoked grits were prepared to perfection. My companion thought the sausage grave was wonderful. Unfortunately the service did not match the food and ambiance. I we had to request coffee refills, had to remove d the server that I ordered sangria, and they looked perplexed when they realized our food had been served. The server seemed far more interested in replenishing the server station than serving guests. Watching the other staff I think the poor service was unique to our server. The host was on top of things which is important when tables are in demand.
