Great restaurant with a friendly staff. Had a wonderful salad with chicken, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, avocado and a great dressing served slightly warm. There were so many interesting things on the menu and we will certainly go back to try more. Hope they open one in St Augustine so we don't have to travel so far. Yum! read more

This is my go to brunch place and my friends and I have made it our Sunday tradition. The service is always good and the food is always great. Usually I have a great experience at this location, but this time was not the case. We hardly saw our server after being seated and waiting nearly 20minutes just to have a coffee refill and was waiting for food for over an hour. It wouldn't have been so bad if the server actually stopped by and have an update - but Jen was nowhere to be seen for most of our visit. With all that being said, the food was great. read more

I like the decor of this place. It has an air of openness that is nice and pleasant to the eye - but the main reason I was there was for the coffee and food. The coffee was blah, although they did leave a pot on the table, which was great. This particular blend left the dreaded after taste. You know the one - when the dog does his business in a place they shouldn't. The overall service was also very good. Wait staff was friendly and constantly checking in. I ordered the waffle special, which had caramelized bananas and maple syrup bacon on top. Also got the muffin of the day, cranberry and perhaps something else inside. The muffin was fair. Nothing special. It was moist and had a good amount of cranberry in it but didn't wow. The waffle was light and airy, a quality component when putting the sweets on top of it. I like to taste the flavor of the product and would not want to ruin it with syrup. The bacon had a nice flavor and was a good compliment but overall the dish was really super sweet without anything acidic to take that edge off. Even without syrup, it felt like it was a tad too much. It wasn't bad by any means and the overall experience was decent. I also asked for a side of well-done sourdough toast. Unfortunately, it came out under-done. If I ever head out that way again, I would like to give them a second go to see if I just ordered the wrong thing for my tastes or it is just an ok place to have breakfast. read more

Amazing fresh fruit fresh ingredients from local farms the french toast is the best and I also enjoyed the pineapple cooler.

First Watch was pretty good. I enjoy breakfast places a lot so I am very particular. I have to say the service was great. We were seated quickly, although we were there pretty early on a Saturday. Great menu choices. Somethings on the menu that aren't at your typical diner. I recommend the bacon cheddar pancake it was delicious and something that I have never tried before. It was a fresh clean breakfast place that you could feel good about eating. Not too greasy I mean. I would have to say I didn't like their coffee too much. I am a coffee snob however, so it probably is good to other people; I do like that they leave a pitcher of it at your table so you don't have to wait for a server to top you off. This was my first time at First Watch. The chopped salad was delicious and clean tasting. The tea was good. The service was very good. Also, all of the servers spoke to me and were friendly. They had a great attitude, unlike some places the food is good but the people don't care about helping you. Best place I have eaten lunch. I will be back. read more

We came to First Watch on Easter Sunday and put our name in on No Wait. It said to arrive at 8:42. We arrived at 8:40 and was told we were 10 down on the line. We waited 20 minutes and with 14 tables open and not seated we checked in again to see where we were in line. We were told 8 down and at least 45 minutes. When we asked why the 14 tables were empty and the guy in charge said the kitchen was too backed up to seat anyone else. What a mess! Incredibly poor planning for Easter. I would definitely not suggest this place on a weekend or holiday. Very mismanaged. read more

Tried First Watch for the first time this morning for Sunday breakfast with the family. Food was very good. I had the Parma Hash, which was soft poached eggs over seasoned potatoes, Italian sausage, roasted crimini mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes, with melted Parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Total bliss for my tastebuds. My wife had the Avocado Toast, the best, thick sliced multigrain toast I have ever had, piled high with smashed avocado, seasoned with salt, herbs, and lemon, with soft poached eggs on top. (Thanks for sharing a bite, Honey!) Our daughter had Floridian French Toast, topped with kiwi, banana, and strawberries. It was nice but the fruit was a bit sparse. Coffee was okay but not as good as it could have been (a little harsh tasting). Atmosphere was nice - bright, cheery, and clean. It was not overcrowded and loud, so this will be a nice alternative to our other favorite weekend venues, Metro Diner, Heavenly Cup Hash House, and Maple Street Biscuit Company. Service was okay, but the only significant negative was when our server Andrea deposited the check on our table, with our plates still half full, telling us it was nice to serve us and have a nice day. It seemed like a signal that she was done serving us, and my wife and I gave each other the WTF look. Regardless, we will be back as the food quality outweighed the one service faux-pas. read more

A few days ago my father and I ate lunch here. The 2 stars are mostly for the terrible service we received. If I was just rating the food, I would have given it 3 stars, maybe 4. However, our server, Michael, rolled his eyes when my 90 year old father placed his order, I guess because of the amount of food he had ordered. He wanted a little taste of several things and ordered pancakes, which came with eggs and sausage and a bowl of soup. It was a big lunch, but not huge and did not deserve an eye roll. The place was about 1/2 full and it took forever for the food to come out (20-25 minutes) and the soup was delivered with the pancakes, instead of before the main course. The server didn't even inquire when we would like the soup to be served. The server, Michael also had 2 friends eating in a booth near us and he spent lots of time talking with them, when I needed a refill on my iced tea and he never even came back to ask if we needed anything. Finally, you're supposed to pay at the register and we waited almost 5 minutes there for someone to come check us out, AND Michael saw us standing there and just turned and went the other way, so did several others on the wait staff as well. Very frustrating. If they don't want to allow you to pay at the table, then someone should be manning the cash register at all times. I wouldn't recommend eating here. read more

Gave it a 1 star for terrible service and we never even sat down to eat. We attempted to eat here in Mother's Day and the staff at the front was so rude that we got up and left after waiting 10 minutes. First of all, we were barely acknowledged when entering. Then the greeting was "Four?" Not, "Hi, welcome." Or "Happy Mother's Day!" When I asked about outside seating they said it was "first come first serve" which I took to mean we could go sit at the empty table. After asking several times while the guys was putting out info in his computer another person walked up and said, "There's 45 people ahead of you on the waiting list." Geez. Excuse me. Then after 10 minutes of waiting that same table outside still hadn't been set AND two nor tables had opened up and were empty. It was clear it could be an hour before getting a table at that rate so we opted to go somewhere else, and I can safely say we won't be trying this place again. read more

Just ate at First watch Jax Beach - very poor food prep. I ordered the Superfood Kale salad and it had maybe 3 pieces of kale in the entire salad, also missing the dried cranberries- carrots were disgusting - dried out and did not taste roasted like the menu described. read more

Food was awesome, as with any First Watch I've been too. The inside of the restaurant was clean and bright, making it a nice place to sit and enjoy breakfast, although it wasn't as busy as some other First Watch restaurants, maybe because of the location. I LOVE this place. But will not be returning to this particular location. Everyone in there looks like someone just killed their puppy, and before my butt even touches the seat, they are asking me if I know what I want to eat, umm no, I haven't even sat down yet or looked at the menu. Then after I get my food, I don't see the waitress again until she drops off our check and I'm not even done eating. I've been there several times and its the same each time. But I go to the one on hodges and they are friendly, smiling and not trying to rush you out the door so they can flip their tables. read more

I liked the pitcher of water and coffee that gets served here. It saves time for the waiters going back and forth trying to keep up with filling up glasses and leaves time to focus on serving food. I had the healthy turkey omelette which I thought was only okay. Turkey was unimpressive, didn't seem that fresh, but I thought the sautéed onions tasted good. My boyfriend had the Belgian waffles which he enjoyed and one of the hash platters which he said was okay. He got it with over easy eggs and I can imagine that it would have worked better as an overall dish with scrambled. His came with bacon chz and potatoes I believe. I go to the First Watch Cafe near my house (Hodges/Beach area) all the time and they are great. This location (near the Target at the beaches) has consistently been bad though. Got the pecan Dijon chicken salad to go and I asked for my chicken and dressing on the side. No big deal right? The other location does this regularly without me even asking. The only reason I specify this at the beaches location is because the last time I got a salad here, they put the chicken and dressing on top of the salad and it was soggy by the time I got home. Anyway... Go to pick it up, get a couple minutes away, and they call to tell me they forgot to put the chicken and dressing in the bag. So I turn around, and they give me the little side bowl (that normally contains the chicken AND dressing) and drove off again. Got home, and it was just chicken in there, no dressing to be seen. Won't be back, this is the 2nd time I've had an issue at this location. I'll stick to the one by my house. read more

You had me at Carrot Cake Pancakes!! They were even better tasting than described. Perfect proportion of raisins, carrots, nuts and cinnamon. They were nice size and not too heavy. Good coffee served in a thermos. Coming from a coffee snob that's a real compliment! Wife had basic eggs, bacon an potatoes and made mention of how well seasoned the potatoes were. Hit the Sunday morning rush with a wait but never was rushed and service was attentive. Lots of other interesting things on the menu will bring us back. read more
