While visiting my uncle in Atlantic Beach, we decided one morning that the breakfast at the Holiday Inn wasn't cutting it. I remembered that Eggboy was about a mile down the road, and so we went there. Basically, Eggboy does only one thing: breakfast sandwiches. And if you only do one thing, you'd better do it right. Well, they do it right! Creamy scrambled (or any way) eggs, variety of other elements like bacon or ham, vegs, etc. on a brioche bun. Ambience is what I'd call functional. food comes out fast, coffee is very good (not as good as the Holiday Inn, which has the Costa system that grinds the beans from a hopper and is really great). As long as they stay focused, I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

Stopped by EggBoy and overall had a solid experience. I ordered the bacon, egg & cheese and added sausage. The sandwich itself was tasty. Eggs cooked well, good flavor, and very satisfying once it hit the table. Now let's talk about the loaded spuds, because wow. Those things are dangerously good. Crispy, flavorful, and seriously addictive. Easily one of the highlights of the meal and something I'd come back for alone. That said, there were a couple of hiccups. They forgot to add the sausage to my sandwich, and service was a bit slow. However, it was clear they were in the weeds, so it felt more like a busy-rush issue than poor service. Things happen. I'd been wanting to try EggBoy for ages and finally found myself in the area on a recent Saturday, so I popped in for a late breakfast. To reiterate what other folks have observed, the parking is a bit difficult, and the location is small -- definitely not the size for a group gathering on the weekend, for example. I ordered the sunrise bagel (hold the bacon) and a fresh orange juice and got lucky enough to grab a seat. The cashier took $1 or $2 off the bagel price, which is a huge plus for folks like me who don't really eat meat. The orange juice was pricey ($6, I think?) but absolutely delicious -- definitely fresh squeezed. The bagel sandwich was a mixed bag. The bagel itself was good; full of flavor and a nice texture. The toppings were a bit underwhelming. I think the egg was a little underseasoned and neither the eggs nor the cheese were warm. The hot sauce wasn't really hot in my book, but I know that's really subjective! And the sandwich was on the smaller side, too; that's not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation...especially with prices the way they are these days. Speaking of which, the total with tip was $21, which I feel is on the pricier side for what I got, but again...that's less EggBoy's fault and more a reflection of where the economy is these days. This is a local place that prides itself on anything you can think of with egg as a sandwich. I got the S.E.C (sausage, egg, and cheese). This was a sausage with scrambled eggs on a brioche bun with American cheese. This was a good sandwich and as I got my food I glanced over in the booth and saw an assortment of hot sauces. I decided to try this horseradish and cayenne pepper medley and I couldn't have been more thrilled with my choice. I am not sure if it was the horseradish but all of sudden this bland but good egg Sammie just became amazing. I ended up asking if they sold the hot sauce and to my delight they did. The brunch café was bustling when we arrived which was a clear sign of its popularity. Though we had to wait briefly, the mouthwatering aromas kept us excited while we waited in line. I ordered the Arlington sandwich with a Matcha drink. It was packed with a turkey sausage, eggs, avocado, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, and honey dijonnaise on a jumbo English muffin. It was a bit messy but flavorful. The Matcha was lightly sweet and refreshing. My partner chose the SEC sandwich with maple pepper sausage, eggs, American cheese, and honey dijonnaise on a brioche bun, plus a dry cappuccino--he liked them both. The café's small size made it feel cramped, and a few flies were quite distracting a bit. Our clothes also picked up some kitchen smells due to the open cooking space. I finally had a chance to try Eggboy on a Saturday morning after a beach walk. The menu items marked with an egg are the top sellers. Jason helped this first timer and suggested the Sunrise bagel sandwich served with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, avocado and sriracha. Oh my goodness! This sandwich was delicious;))) It was hot and I loved that the bagel was grilled yet still soft as I do not eat hard bagels. The sandwich was very filling as I was only able to eat half. I ate the other half a few hours later lol. For coffee lovers they have a huge selection. I ordered an iced tea and mixed the sweet and unsweet which made it perfect! I also ordered a blueberry Cinotti's donut to go. You can tell the staff enjoy their job and working with each other which makes the atmosphere comfortable and cozy. So first time visiting and it was definitely worth the drive out to Mayport. Let me start by saying everything was fresh and hot and came out really fast considering the orders prior placed before us. The hen house was ok in our opinion. The chicken could've been seasoned more and the gravy was mid. My date ordered it and he rated it an 6/10. He's not one to complain so he ate it but stated he wouldn't order again. I ordered the Santa Maria and it was a 10/10. The only thing I would've done differently was add extra bacon for the protein intake personally and more guac. I placed a side order of maple peppered sausage for protein purposes but I could've omitted it for flavor. It was no seasoning only hot and fresh. Then we tried the full Monty which was rated 8/10. My date isn't a fan of French toast so I wouldn't take that into account if you love French toast. The sandwich just needed flavor/seasoning. The side of syrup is a preference in my opinion I could've done without it. The tables were all dirty but no plates were left on it. So if you plan on dining in you may have to ask for tables to be cleaned. Overall the Santa Maria stole the show at our table. My date ordered some iced coffee and he returned it stating it tasted burnt. Not sure what that meant but he doesn't complain so for him to ask for a refund that speaks volumes. read more

I even dipped my potatoes into it. I took my food home, and in the ~12 minutes it took me to get home, both sandwiches were slightly soggy. We both ordered the Full Monty. The seating wasn't the best but we got lucky with a table while still waiting on our food. Lots of people seemed to be lingering long after they finished eating. Our order came out and it looked so good. Then I noticed several pieces of foil in the eggs, on the French toast bun, stuck in the melted cheese. The foil wrapper around the sandwich was very flimsy and torn extremely easily. Hubby didn't notice any on his sandwich. I did enjoy the eggs, sausage, bacon and cheese. I wasn't a huge fan of the French toast bun. I thought it was soggy and kinda mushy. I would have been better off ordering a sandwich with a different bun. Eggboy gave me all the trendy Instagram vibes without delivering. I don't know that I need to return. read more

The restaurant is located in the same strip mall as Reve Brewing and Grey Matter Distilling. This part of Mayport feels like an up and coming hipster neighborhood similar to how Riverside felt a few years ago. Parking was easy with a dedicated lot. Ordering was counter service with an iPad. There was a small bar area as well as tables that are seat yourself. All the people were super nice and friendly. The options for food and drinks were really interesting. I got one of their specials, a pumpkin spice latte that was delicious and very reasonable for $6. They have a few assorted homemade baked goods. The cereal bar hit the spot. There specialty though is egg sandwiches. I got the Santa Maria which was extremely favorable. Very happy with my experience. Eggboy will be another beaches staple in the mornings! read more

Before heading to Neptune Beach this morning, I stopped by Eggboy to grab some breakfast. I originally planned to carry out but made a last-minute decision to eat at one of the outside tables as I noticed the storm clouds rolling in. This restaurant is located in the heart of Mayport. It's the type of spot where you Order at the counter, pick up when your name is called, and Seat yourself. There's an Open kitchen concept where you can watch the cooks hard at work preparing your meal. Their Flaming Coffee is ground in-house. Cinotti's bakery desserts, such as donuts, bars, and rolls, are available. The Staff was super friendly. In addition to their regular menu, there is also a featured Specials Menu. The space is clean and quant, with just a few tables and booths available for those who choose to dine in. I ordered the Full Monty: maple pepper sausage, applewood smoked bacon, soft scrambled eggs, American cheese, brioche french toast & a Toasted Coconut Mocha Latte: Espresso, mocha, coconut syrup, topped with whipped cream and toasted coconut. Everything came up to about $20. My breakfast was huge and delicious, I could only eat about half of it before wrapping the rest up for later. The Latte was cool and creamy with toasted coconut at the bottom. read more

There's something to be said about a well-made and simple breakfast sandwich. Anybody can make an egg sandwich at home, but for most people, it won't taste anywhere near as good as the one from Eggboy. We ordered pick up around 7:30 AM on a holiday and there was no line. The employees were very nice and they engaged in conversation as I waited for my food. Our sandwiches were ready in under five minutes. I was pretty impressed. For our first visit, we went with the classics - bacon, egg, and cheese and sausage, egg, and cheese. Both had a sauce on them, catch-up for the bacon, egg and cheese and honey dijonnaise on the sausage, egg and cheese. I opted for the dijonnaise on the side. At first, the sandwiches didn't look like they had enough eggs in them, but I realized that the eggs were all at the back of the sandwich and in the takeout sack due to the pull of gravity. The sandwich was quite hearty with wonderfully soft bread, fluffy eggs, melted cheese, and bacon and sausage. The sausage is house made with maple syrup and pepper. It was actually very good. The cost of these two sandwiches were reasonable, both around eight dollars. I saw that they also have cinnamon rolls, house made cereal bars, overnight oats, and a number of other menu items that are all primarily sandwiches. I heard that the Santa Maria is one of the more popular items so I may have to try that, as well as the burger or the chopped cheese. With top-notch food and excellent service, The Egg Boy is definitely a must-visit spot in Jax Beach. Five stars all the way! Upon arrival it wasn't busy which I love so I could get some great footage and not feel rushed when ordering and placing an order. I was indecisive but told the gentleman what I wanted and he suggested the BEC (bacon, egg, and cheese) sandwich on a brioche bun. YALL , and it was phenomenal! I was finally able to try Eggboy and this quaint little storefront was unfortunately filled to the brim when I got there so I had to order my food to go (which is no problem.) It was lunch time when I arrived so I decided to go with the chopped cheese and the loaded spuds. The chopped cheese definitely did not taste like your "traditional" take on the classic as the flavors felt a bit muddled together, which is unfortunate because I will say the portion size was great. The loaded spuds were definitely my meal's saving grace. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned! So crispy yet so soft in the middle and I like how they used cheese dust instead of your traditional shredded or melted cheese. And as a ranch connoisseur - the ranch that came with it was also perfect! I'm not sure if they make it in-house but it was the perfect accompaniment. I stopped into Eggboy last weekend to see if it lived up to the hype. Of course it did! I knew what I was ordering before I arrived- the Breakfast Poutine | beer-battered spiral fries, cheese curds, bacon, over-medium eggs, & sausage gravy. It was amazing! The fries were excellent, bacon was great, & the eggs perfectly cooked. There was an unexpected garlicky flavor that I couldn't work out if it was on the curds or in the gravy. All I know is it added another delicious layer of flavor to the dish which is so big that I took half of it home. One piece of advice- get there early! They open at 6am & I arrived around 7 on Sunday. The kitchen line seemed to be moving like a well-oiled machine. The guy who came in after me only had to wait about 5m for his to-go order from ordering to out the door. By the time I left, multiple groups were arriving & they seemed to be doing a number of online pickup orders too. Love to see it! read more
