I've never ordered anything off the menu that I didn't enjoy! Food is great, service is always good.

Hello my fellow Yelpers. This pains me to write this review. We have ordered food from First Watch via delivery apps over the past year or so and every time the food arrived, everything thing was great. So since we both feel safer about being in public, we could not wait to actually visit the actual brick and mortar. The thought was "if the food we get delivered is outstanding, it is going to be epic not having to eat food that was cooked 30 minutes ago......how wrong we both were! As with all of my reviews, let me start with what was good. We started with a couple of freshly made juices. My wife got the Pineapple Express and I got the Kale Juice, both were good. Then we ordered the million dollar bacon, a perfect mix of savory, spicy and sweet. I thought bacon on it's own is one of the tastiest things to enter this pie hole but First Watch turned humble bacon into a million bucks. Our server was nice as well. And then we ordered our meals and this is where things went from good to flat out bad! I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and my wife ordered the Classic Benedict. I will start with my dish, the presentation looked like someone threw some eggs, Hollandaise Sauce and a boat load of greens on a plate. There was absolutely no texture, the Ciabatta bread appeared to be just heated, not toasted, the dish was severely under seasoned and the only thing that made it edible was the Old Bay seasoning that was on top. The poached eggs needed about 2 more minutes in the water as the egg whites were under and the yoke was almost watery and not silky as it is supposed to be. As some of you have read in a previous review about a different establishment, WE KNOW HOW TO COOK POACHED EGGS! My wife's dish was an even bigger disaster! Although her dish looked better than mine, one eggs was severely undercooked and the other egg was so overcooked that it was more of a boiled egg than a poached egg. So my wife asked for another egg and a little more Hollandaise sauce. Mind you, our initial order was at the table within 5 minutes of ordering it, which surprised us because we both know how long it takes to poach an egg, the replacement egg took 20 minutes to get to us and that egg was undercooked. And to top it off, they brought the egg in a bowl, that had water in it so my wife couldn't just pour the egg from the bowl and she tried to fish it out with a spoon but because the eggs was so undercooked, it immediately broke in the bowl, so now we had what looked like egg drop soup. The only reason why I gave two stars instead of one is because the Manager was extremely apologetic and comped her meal. What is mind blowing to me is how in the hell can you get a perfectly poached egg delivered but receive such crap in house! Come on man! I have read some reviews about how the Cinco Ranch location has way better quality control but since we were not sure which location delivered our food in the past, we made the bad decision of going to the closer location. Oh and one more thing, if your establishment is only a fourth occupied, why in the world would you try to seat us right by the door? Thank god we asked for another table because it got crowded quick and we would have had a bunch of people hovering over us waiting to be seated. Based on our past delivered orders, we will give them another shot but not at this location. And if the other location is this bad, then you will never get our money again First Watch! I had heard of First Watch for breakfast was a place to go if you wanted delicious pancakes and waffles .If you want an upscale breakfast spot this location aimed to please.Although they were extremely busy they seated our party of 5 in 8 minutes and our food came 5 minutes later .We tried the lemon ricotta with strawberry pancakes and light airy Belgian waffles.Their strawberry compote was delicious . The service was exceptional.They also offer signature cocktails such as Million dollar bloody Mary's with gluten free vodka . Bottomless coffee and water was at our table so didn't have to request more.If you want a fast , friendly breakfast with tasty food give this spot a try. read more

I am honestly shocked to see no one is talking about how weird it smells at this First Watch location now. It smells like they have a real problem with their sewage lines in the bathroom or something. So, naturally, that's the first impression you get upon walking in. The restaurant was packed at about 1:30PM last Wednesday and we were seated immediately. That was about the extent of decent service. The host got me my water and happily checked the balance on my gift cards but it seems he had to drag our waiter out by his collar to get him to do his job. I saw them talk a couple times before our waiter finally decided to acknowledge us. By that point we already knew what we wanted to eat and drink. They still don't know how to make an easy egg. They baste their eggs here which COOKS IT MORE. You're pouring a hot liquid over sensitive eggs. I don't understand why they insist on basting their eggs here. Even though I asked for my egg easy, it came out over hard with no running yolk. Also, they like to serve a lame salad with their entrees which basically means you're paying $11 for a turkey blt with avocado and a poorly cooked egg. Their water smells weird also. Overall every aspect of this restaurant has gone downhill. Their food is consistently decent...just don't expect an egg cooked to order unless you like it completely solid. I like their banana nut pancake a lot, and they serve their syrup warm, so I guess that warrants a second star. read more

Our meal was fine, just breakfast $12 & change, no problem. Someone I was with was charged the same amount for toast and avocado on the side. They told her she is being charged for the $12 meal whether or not she wanted the 2 eggs (that the meal comes with) or not. Everyone was very nice and the place was clean but they lost a customer here. Not a good way to do business. read more

My wife and I just finished our Breakfast here at First Watch. Let me say from the moment we arrived until we finished our breakfast, everyone was so happy and happy people. Several of the people who worked there stopped by and asked how everything was. Our server Darron was so friendly and helpful, he went out of his way to help us, but this is I'm sure is what he does for everyone! If I could give 6 stars I would! If you love breakfast food and amazing service you must try this location have eaten there numerous times and every time it's perfect. The staff treats you like family especially SAM Erin Josh Jose and Sandra. Those are just a few of the amazing staff. So if you are in Katy area and hungry for breakfast food don't be dumb and go somewhere else. read more

It is ok. I'd rather go to Waffle House! Seems like it tries hard to be "organic" and exotic. I just always have to ask for extra blueberry topping for waffle. The food is really tasty. However, service has really gone downhill. I've tried coming during the week, and the service was not great. Came during the weekend, and it's terrible. You have to wait forever for your server to come to your table. I had to wait like 20 minutes for my drink to come to the table, and it's just a soda. I'm not sure what's happening. read more

Squash soup was bland and felt like it came out of a can. Pancakes were soggy before even putting syrup on them. No butter served with pancakes. Asked for butter and lady looked at me like what for? By the time butter came pancakes were cold. Waitress tossed the butter in front of my guest without even coming up to the table. When I pulled out card to pay bill, server was kind of rude telling me to pay up front. No character here and from server we had....other servers may be better, to the lack of care in the food made I can't go back here. Too many things wrong in one sitting. Would give 0 to 1 star but gave 2 in case there are better servers here and a kitchen staff not working that day that cares about the food. read more

I was visiting Houston last year and decided to stop by First Watch for breakfast with some of my family. It did not disappoint. The service was great and the food was even better. There is a bit of a wait on weekends (not sure if they take reservations) and they get crazy packed since they close at 3pm. I started with a Cold Brew Coffee and a Kale Tonic juice. The juice was tasted so good and fresh! My cousin had the Morning Meditation which was also really good but I preferred the Kale Tonic. For my meal I had the elevated egg sandwich which was basically a BEC with avocado and argula. My sandwich was good but I kind of wish I got the Farmhouse skillet instead; it was so good and a perfect portion. The avocado toast also looked really good. Definitely a solid choice for breakfast/brunch. read more

1st timer... great service, tasty food, and generous portions! Oz was our server... he was wonderful! Personable, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable! Cute farm house style interior, plenty of seating and clean restroom... I wasn't sure what to order, so I let Oz pick for me... I was NOT disappointed! He picked the Trifecta (millionaire bacon, 2 eggs and substituted the waffle for the Floridian French Toast) The BACON.... OMG, YASSSSS, I would come back JUST for the bacon lol sweet and spicy, the perfect marriage! My eggs were shaped into a heart!!! (Not on purpose, but a beautiful accident, lol) (Yolks were firmer than I prefer) French toast was... French Toast... the fruit was fresh! My goddaughter ordered biscuits and gravy... they were lukewarm, she let Oz know and he immediately put in another fresh order for her... she just asked for it to be microwaved, but he asked her to please allow him to have a fresh order made... love that! Turkey sausage gravy was good (a little thinner than preferred but tasty), and biscuits were nice and fluffy. My son ordered the Parma Skillet Hash and a side of French Toast... Love this place. I am annoyed with the fact that I don't remember my server's name but he was the kindest person. Very detail oriented and personable. You really need to try the millionaire's bacon. So delicious. Cooked to perfection and had a nice glaze. My frittata rustica was fluffy, seasoned nicely and full of delicious veggies. The light lemon vinaigrette on my greens was tasty. The dresses the greens just enough. Really wonderful stuff. The classic eggs Benedict is worth a try as well as the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. All the meals were cooked nicely. The doughnut holes are good if you like old fashioned cake doughnuts. I'm not a fan but everyone else at the table was. My favorite on top of the frittata was the mimosas. Can't go wrong with that. One thing I don't believe a lot of people realize is that they sell the First Watch Cookbook there too. I picked up some copies for myself and family. The food overall is worth a try. Came here on Christmas Eve and had breakfast. It was pretty busy but we were seated right away. I ordered the mimosa and an omelet. The omelette wasn't terrible but I do wish the cheese was melted more. It looks like a piece of sliced cheese was just put on it. The toast and jam was delicious! I did like that part of the dish. My friend got the pancake and said that it was filling and tasty. The morning glory drink was excellent! I highly recommend that drink over the mimosa. Their fresh fruit drinks are a great addition to your healthy meal. Our server was polite and knowledgeable. She checked on us several times. She had a fun personality. It is cafeteria style. My husband and I had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. It was busy but there was no wait. My husband ordered the Bacado omelette with the sour cream on the side and I ordered the Multigrain Pancakes with a side of bacon. He LOVED the omelette with toast. I had a bite and it was good. The pancakes were good. Not your average tasting pancakes, which was probably bc of the multigrain. He also ordered the Morning Meditate. Overall, we had a great breakfast. Our waiter, Anthony, was very helpful, kind, and thorough. Oftentimes African Americans are prejudged as people who don't tip or are difficult, so our service is not always the warmest in locations such as these. But Anthony didn't give even the slightest hint of such presumption. He was what one would expect. Lastly, yes, First Watch is more expensive than your household breakfast spot. But the food is not fast food quality, so I feel it's worth it. We had a great breakfast! read more

Wanted to try a new breakfast place instead of our usual Snooze, which always has a long wait, so we came here. Waited for about 10 minutes to which we got sat at a table that was empty since we got in... After we got seated, we looked at the menu, figured out what we wanted for a good 10-15 minutes before anyone came to our table. It seemed like a server that walked by a couple times noticed we were waiting and informed someone else, which is when a server finally came and took our drink order. We then politely tell her that were actually ready and know what we want. She said "ok," along with a little attitude bc I don't think that was even her section. Our food and drinks came out pretty quick, decent but totally not worth what we paid for...and my Summer Crab Omelette was only half filled with crab...yes, I opened to see cause my first few bites were just eggs and veg... Our entire time there, not a single person asked us how we were or if everything came out ok, yet I see the same servers going to their tables multiple times. And to top it off, it took another 10-15 minutes of us sitting for our checks, which you take to the register yourself.
