Food is cooked to order and may take a bit of time but -delicious! The kitchen is clearly visible from the dining area and it is spotless. Very good food, no matter what I have ordered I've been happy and full. Now their coffee is the real deal! If you just had their coffee and a muffin your taste buds and tummy would be very happy. My friend and I were having a girls day, manis and pedis and just wanted some lunch. We stopped at this location and was not disappointed. Our server Claudia was great. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and what was on it, she answered our questions about what we were ordering. My friends eggs were a little too runny and she took it back without any issues. She was very pleasant. It honestly was the best experience I have ever had a first watch. I live in the north side but the drive will be worth it for the Service. For 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kiddos the total was about $55. The wait times are a bit tough if you go at certain times of the day but good healthy food is worth the wait! I went with my Mom today and when I walked in the door it was announced to me that they would be closing in 15 minutes and was immediately seated. It felt to me like it was a "hurry up and eat" notice. I didn't think a lot of it, everyone wants to leave their job when the shift is up - I get that - fine. I quickly read the menu and helped my Mom decide what she wanted and we ordered. I asked if we could just have a BLT for Mom. I had never eaten here before and I was not familiar with the menu. We were trying to be quick in light of the fact it was announced that they wanted to go home. Food arrives. Mine was fine, but barely warm, and Mom gets a BLT with egg and cheese. She didn't care for it. She was picking at it when a manager asked how the food was. We told him and he offered to remake the sandwich. We told him we just want a BLT. New sandwich arrives and it has cheese (Mom hates cheese) so they immediately took it back again. Then the server arrives with the menu to point out the error of my ways...same little red, curly headed girl with glasses that made the initial 15 minute announcement. I informed her I had never eaten there before, I did not ask for the menu item and that I was pretty clear: BLT. I suggested that a good follow up question would be "it comes with...do you want..." Her response was that she had no way of knowing I had never eaten there before and that next time I should read the menu. At this point my meal is finished and mom's third sandwich just arrived and I had an attitude. I asked for the manager and explained what happened. He was very apologetic. I asked for a box for mom's sandwich and a check so we could leave. He promised to deal with the server that was so rude. We did not pay for Mom's sandwich. The food seems very interesting and different. I like it, but the service just sucked bad. It will be a while before I consider returning in hopes that maybe they have weeded out the rude servers. It seems like the server was too busy worrying about the end of the shift to pay attention, ask questions, provide information and get it right. If she would have done that, we would have eaten and been gone in no time. I don't see the need to announce that they are closing in 15 minutes either. It's not a department store to shop in...Are the doors open to customers or not? If they are then step up to serve your clients so you can get a tip and leave. read more

Tried it for breakfast and it is pricy for what you get. I had the Smoked Salmon veggie frittata and it was tasteless. The person with me had the waffles and they were ok. Service wasn't good but they did just open this week. Issue checking out I'm hoping my card was only charged once. 12/29 Just had breakfast at First Watch to give it another try and both of our breakfasts were served cold ran out of coffee, the biscuit was a hockey puck & no one checked on us till bill time. They gave us free breakfast. They didn't realize I was there with 2-free meals because of a bad experience last time. 1/24/18 Seems 3rd time is a charm. Had breakfast at First Watch today and ordered from the seasonal menu the Açaí Bowl and it was delicious as was the fresh toast with almond butter that was served with it. The person with me had the Floridian French Toast with a side of bacon and he said it was very good. Service from Madisyn and the young man she was training was very good. Only reason I returned was to use the $20 they had given me after visit number one. Glad I did and I will return. read more

My first experience with First Watch was in AZ and was phenomenal. This one in Lakeland FL is just shades shy of being as good. I've been twice in the past two weeks, once on a weekday and once on a weekend. While the weekend visit was far busier, they had the a team working because things went smoothly and the food was fantastic. On the weekday visit things were much slower and there were errors in the orders. This is an unfortunate truth in food service, busier often produces faster service and better experience. The place has the signature farm to table feel, though a bit less than I'd like, feeling a bit too open and slick. But still comfortable though loud. Parking was tight and limited, but the place was full. It's relatively easy to see from traffic. I wish I could remember the name of our server on the weekend visit, she was amazing! Kind, attentive, and efficient. I should totally recommend sitting in hat section ... if I can find my receipt I'll update to add her name if it's on there. For me the million dollar bacon is too sweet, and their regular bacon extra crispy is wonderful, so I'll stick to that, but my friend in AZ absolutely swears by the million dollar, so give it a try. I recommend asking for the warm mixed berry compote if you're getting a waffle or even toast, the stuff is divine. And the toast is a great multi grain bread that'll make you wonder why you'd order the waffle or pancakes, well, until you actually try the waffle or pancakes because they do them sho very right as well. Give this place a shot if you're in the area, it's worth it. read more

I've been to many of the First Watch restaurants around the country, but have to say this one on the south side of Lakeland is a huge disappointment. My first visit was this week, I walked in around 11:30am, and there were many tables (I counted 7) that were cluttered with used dishes (but no patrons), servers mulling around but not clearing the tables. We were sat, expecting to be greeted by our server, but 10 min passed, and not a soul to visit our party of 2. As we get up to leave, I bring it to the manager's attention, and she gives a half hearted "please stay" with not much vigor in wanting to make it right. read more

Decided to try this place for a late breakfast, for a change from our usual Sunday morning routine. We were told it would be about a ten minute wait, which became a half hour. Once seated the service was fair, but nothing spectacular, and the food was OK, but over priced and too salty. We like to give places a try, but likely won't return. Not worth the price, when you can get a better meal elsewhere, for less, with better service. read more

DO NOT eat here. It was literally the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. The food had no flavor and came out with different ingredients than were advertised on the menu. Their salsa was obviously not fresh. Ive had better salsa out of a jar from the grocery store. To top it off, they charged us way more for the items we ordered than what the prices were on their menus. My $7.99 item I ordered ended up costing me $11.50 and of course they had no explanation as to why. First and last time I ever eat there. read more

My wife and I came to the location (2nd time) on this past Sunday afternoon 9am. The water glass where dirty the waitress tried to pass it off as just water spots my wife order was incorrectly made her food and mine was barley room temperature both orders where sent back, order 1 single pancake which was very under cooked. Tried to cut the pancake and the top that was brown was peeling off. The staff seemed very nonchalant about the whole situation. Reached out to corporate over a week ago and still no response back. If you are thinking about eating hear make sure it's before 9am. read more

Unless they figure out how to work a large party in over smaller groups, don't come here, especially during a holiday. Larger groups should take reasonable priority. Don't seat parties of two or four in a booth that can seat six. Rearrange your smaller tables to accommodate. Y'all need to train seating staff better in this category for sure. 60 minutes is a little long for a large party when you've seated probably 20 or more. read more
