To have a place this good within walking distance is great. First Watch serves up your typical brunch fare. Sandwiches, everything involving eggs, hash, pancakes, etc. Don't be alarmed by the amount of folks waiting when you get there. They are one of the fastest restaurants I've been to in Louisville when it comes to seating tables. The million dollar bacon is worth every cent. Smothered in brown sugar, syrup, and spices. The biscuits and gravy were also good, but it took me a while to get used to turkey sausage gravy. They'll offer up seasonal dishes like the pumpkin pancakes I had recently. They're as big as your head, so order wisely. For a new location, they seem to have figured everything out pretty quick. The servers were great and friendly. The time it took to get our food has been fast the few times we've gone thus far. If it gets crowded, paying for the meal can be a bit crazy since its set up similar to Cracker Barrel where you pay up front by the door. Other than that, great food. read more

The atmosphere was chill and relaxed, but buzzing with the banter and chatter of the local populace having a great start to their morning. Some of the best food and service we have ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Our server was so friendly and attentive. The parking lot is HUGE, no trouble getting a spot. The inside was really gorgeous, with some unique decor like farm porch railings hanging from the ceiling. First, as a photographer of murals, I've gotta mention the nice artwork on the exterior of the building. Good job on making a chain blend in with the local vibe of the Highlands. My ginger, turmeric beet juice was a good but a little too tart. My sandwich, roast beef and cheese served on a cheese toasted bread was very good as was my honey pecan salad. My boyfriend's egg white omelette, skillet potatoes and toast were all tasty as well. How do they get their multigrain bread to taste so good???? Do be forewarned that this location is still waiting on their liquor license so if you're hoping for a brunch cocktail like you can get at other locations it isn't going to happen here yet. read more

I have been to both of the First Watch locations now and I'd say I'm a fan. They have done a beautiful job of remodeling the old Applebee's location for this new rendition. The restaurant itself Is bright and fresh feeling and of course very clean as any new restaurant should be. They have ample parking which is always nice because hunting for a spot or having to look for street parking can really detract from an otherwise nice dining experience. This, like their other location serves breakfast and lunch. For my first visit here I had one of their breakfast skillets. It had potatoes, eggs, cheese and veggies and it was very tasty. It also came with toast which was a nice thick multigrain bread. I like that when you order coffee they leave an insulated pot at your table for refills as needed and I also like that they have a variety of flavored liquid creamers to choose from. The day we were there I believe I saw hazelnut, French vanilla, pumpkin spice and at least one other choice besides just the basic. It gives the coffee a little something extra. The servers and hostess we encountered were all very friendly and our food didn't take long to arrive and was exactly as we had ordered it. I called to make a reservation one morning. Can't. Need the app. Well shit. Get the app. Go to make a reservation. Still no reservations, but you can "get in line'" I try to get in line 30 minutes before my family plans to meet there. There is no line, so it doesn't allow me to get in the line. Well, double shit. No problem as long as it's not crowded. Show up 30m later to meet my family. Apparently a line has formed. It's a 30-45m wait. Now I call two other places to see about waits and they're even longer. Now my whole party has to sit around with their thumbs in their assholes because their dipshit brother couldn't figure out how to make a reservation. To put the cherry on top, the app requires you to give both your phone number and your email, so I'm sure I get to look forward to some emails/phonecalls/texts. What a stupid system. Guess the only way to combat it is to complain and give bad reviews, so, here I am. read more

The manager refused to refund the delivery charge since it's "third party" even when you order directly from the first watch website (delivery option). The biggest thing that is separating this specific location from the other locations would be the time it takes to be seated. The option to join the waitlist was not available on the app for this location. However it was for the others. I arrived and gave a name and was just told they would call us when our table was ready. I wish they had told us the wait time. For about 15 minutes of our wait there were 3 four top spaces free and 3 two top tables free. I love love love their bacon I don't know how they make bacon so extra yummy, but they do!! Another favorite of mine is the coconut chia seed pudding with fruit and granola. It's one of their "healthier" options and is the best chia seed pudding I've ever had! I've also tried their quinoa and regular flour pancakes and was satisfied!
