I've been to this First Watch many times but it looks like I hadn't reviewed this location until today. Today, I stopped in for breakfast alone and ordered the Lavender Haze - a super yummy wintry seasonal beverage. For breakfast, I ordered the traditional breakfast with two scrambled eggs, a few slices of bacon, whole grain toast, which is served with an abundance of diced potatoes. I added a side of sausage patties. Not only was service on point and accommodating, I met the kindest humans I've interacted with in a long time. My emotions unexpectedly got the best of me while I was eating, which I couldn't hide and didn't have enough tissues to conceal...as embarrassed as I felt, I was met with hugs and kindness from strangers. To the staff and the kind strangers who looked out for me: you turned a difficult morning into a beautiful memory. Our first time visiting this First Watch location, but as always, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The aesthetic is consistent with other First Watch vibes - warm, rustic, very welcoming with the big chalkboard on the wall listing all of the specials and holiday menu items. It was really busy when we arrived but we were still seated within about 5 minutes of checking in with the hostess. I'm a big fan of the holiday specials that they have during this time of year, so I opted for something off of the holiday menu. I had the truffle bacon & brie hash - the hash and skillets are always my favorite items. My husband ordered the chickichanga from the regular menu and he said it was tasty. I also had the morning meditation juice - delicious, and I love that their juices are freshly squeezed and not overly sweet. We also tried the honey butter biscuit bites from the holiday menu - the fruit compote that comes with this is really yummy. Food was delicious as always but service really sucked. The place was PACKED. But this momma wanted biscuits and gravy so it was on! There was a 30 minute wait to sit. We were seated right at 30 minutes. The hostess was nice and welcoming. I did ask for outside seating but we were seated inside. I wasn't going to complain given the fact I was starving and we already waited 30 minutes for this table. We waited and waited and finally greeted by our server. The couple seated after us was with another server and was greeted well before us which was a bit annoying. By the time our server even came to our table we had ample time to know our order. So when she arrived we placed drink and food orders. The drinks took a bit to come out, despite my daughter and I only having water. Hubs ordered a Sprite and she actually never brought it so I had to flag her down and ask her to bring it. Food arrived. My order was wrong so I had to send it back -- I asked for fruit instead of potatoes. Food was tasty although I was a bit aggravated about the slow service and lack of attention to our order. I've never had issues with any other First Watch locations I've visited. This was our first visit to this location. Some of the items are unique in the addition of unexpected flavors and ingredients and others just have a slight twist. The million dollar bacon is maple flavored with pepper type spices. First Watch for breakfast was initially exciting but fell flat for me and another person at my table. The waitress was really kind and was the type of person you wanted to befriend, good job on finding this stellar employee! My mom ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict which came with a medium egg and gluten free toast (option), I ordered the Barbacoa Chilaquiles Breakfast Bowl which is seasonal. The Benedict egg was like a hard boiled egg and the hollandaise sauce was almost no where to be found. The chilaquiles did not compare to any traditional chilaquiles I've tried in the past and was unnecessarily spicy. Coffee was a little bitter. I'd be curious to try this place again and try a sweet option, like the pancakes or Belgian waffles. If I'm ever back in the area, I might update this review. read more

I have only tried their breakfast options, but what I had has been pretty good and this place is a nice and more upscale option than say an International House of Pancakes (IHOP) or a Denny's. They gave me a waffle that had no powdered sugar, It felt like it was microwaved which they said they do not have one it was so floppy, luckily as I was ready to leave the manager asked why I looked unhappy and I told him he honestly said wait right there had them remake the waffle and it was one of the best waffles I had in a while. I went to this First Watch location for the first time with two friends and did not have the greatest experience. It was Sunday morning and we put our name in for a 25 minute wait for a table. Once we were seated, service was very very slow. We got our drinks at a reasonable speed and also ordered our food at the same time. We didn't get our food for over 45 minutes. Meanwhile, the people around us who came in after us got their food before us. We ordered simple things and when they finally came out, they were not warm. I got gluten free toast, potatoes and bacon. The toast was hard and the potatoes were not thoroughly cooked. My friends have been to First Watch before and at this location, their portions were much smaller. In addition, when we needed things, the waitstaff took forever to bring us them. First watch is my favorite brunch place. No matter where I travel I seek one out because I know what I will get and my sensitive system appreciates the quality. I'm so happy it's right by my house now. I come here several times a month and never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, tasty, perfect portions and quality. I have not had any complaints. Servers do their best and the kitchen always accommodates any special requests we make. I enjoy bringing my teens here and they always finish their plates. I have never ordered anything and been unhappy. The flavors are always fresh and blend well. I'm usually very critical of Mexican food I'm a bit of a snob... it is what it is, I appreciate their fusion and the flavors more so than any other non traditional place. Anyone unhappy coming here must be a one off or it was packed for a VALID reason. This place beats kekes, the nook, ihop, dennys, or village in or whatever nasty place else there is to go to.. I am honestly shocked at how low the ratings are for this place. First Watch is one of the best brunch places I've found in Tampa so far (the only place that beats it is Oxford Exchange) and I've never had a bad meal here! I always check in online beforehand and we always get seated immediately. I think there was only one time we had to wait a little bit. For being all the way up in Odessa it is amazing to have a place like this where I can consistently count on good food. We both had the pumpkin pancake breakfast and it was perfect!!! The pancake is so, so good! Also, I wanted to note that we had fabulous service. I love First Watch, visit often - but this one is not so good. I always order one of two sandwiches, my favorite being the ham and gruyere with the spice Dijonnaise. They just did not make this one right. It seemed as though it was missing that special Dijonnaise and had only mayonnaise. My sandwich was also soggy instead of the typical crispy grilled cheese. I opted for the tomato basil soup instead of a salad, and it was very thick. Waitress was kind of nonexistent after taking our order.
