A lakeside bar & grill located in Land-O-Lakes, Stonewater Grill was the perfect place to get together with the girls, catch up, laugh, and enjoy some good food with a beautiful view. The inside is really spacious, and the first thing you see when you walk in is a beautifully lit Christmas tree. We started with the crab rangoon, which was absolutely delicious! And for my entrée, I went with the steak frites, and it did not disappoint. The view was just as good as the food! It had been a while since I tried Stonewater Grill so we decided to brave the normal crowds on a holiday. Maybe not a great choice... First, the good stuff - we arrived just before 6pm and it was not overly crowded. We were seated promptly at a high top with a nice view of the lake. Our server was friendly, took our drink order right away and was just the right amount of attentive. Now the not-so-great stuff- we ordered buffalo wings as an appetizer. They were delivered to the table in a very reasonable time and were hot, well cooked and completely bland. They were under-seasoned and under-sauced and entirely forgettable. We were hungry, but didn't even finish them because they just weren't worth the calories. I ordered Chicken Parm as an entree and wow, was it altogether a poor dish. The chicken was over cooked and dry, the breading was just a hair shy of blackened, the cheese on top was tough as shoe leather, and to complete the set, the fettuccine under it all was about 2 minutes shy of al dente. The dish didn't have a single redeeming quality other than it arrived at the table hot. The lemon chicken was considerably better than either the wings or the chicken parm. My wife and I love this place. Primarily because of the amazing staff. The ambience is off the charts Lakeside dining at best. When we step in the door, we are immediately greeted by the staff. First time coming and I got to say the atmosphere is comfy and welcoming. When you walk in it actually feels a little crowded BUT it's actually quite big. Our server was Jennifer, she was amazing and SO helpful. I recommend giving her a raise hahaha Though ya so helpful with ya know helping us understand the area and foods and what not ya know all that jazz. She DID say we were her best group yet and that's saying something. Unfortunately they were out of cauliflower, BUT we got the crab ragoons which if sure were JUST as delicious as the cauliflower. Not a thing of cream was missing from those ragoons. I got the Greek salad, very good. Then the seafood pasta for main. We have been to Stonewater Grill several times. Parking was not bad, as they have a large parking lot. We were sat on the deck pretty quick Enjoyed some Garden Mules. For the Steak Frites dish, ordered it MR, however it came MW. Fortunately Server Destiny quickly came to ask if all was ok with the food. So holidays are challenging for restaurants, but this experience was crazy. We have been meeting family for Christmas Eve dinner for more years than I can remember. So far this was the absolute worst experience in the Tampa area in over 15 years. First off, they way overbooked. And the desk told us that they had done so when we checked in. We were finally seated and immediately told the kitchen was running an hour behind. We got drinks and waited. Shortly after that our server told us the kitchen was even slower. We decided to order some appetizers. Those too would be at least another half hour to an hour, but if we ordered cold appetizers, it would be better. So we decided to share a charcuterie board and a bread basket. A half hour later, we got the charcuterie board. We were starving so it was very good. And actually turned out to be the best item of the evening. At about 7:30 (we had been there since 6 pm), ONE person in our party of seven got their order of a chicken sandwich with fries. About 45 minutes later, the rest of us were served. My meal was inedible. They gave me the wrong veggies which they did replace; the mixed mashed potatoes were disgusting; the chicken in the chicken Marsala was tough and hard on the edges. The whole plate was drowned in a sticky brown sauce. Yuk!! I told the server to discourage anyone else from ordering this. From the other comments, the burgers were decent and the chicken piccata good (although her food was served on a smaller sized plate with what appeared to be a half a portion size). We did enjoy the picturesque setting and the Christmas decorated boats that passed by. But 2 and half hours is a long time for older folks to sit -- as well as for the kids. And we left unsatisfied on so many levels. read more

Holiday evening dinner with family in a beautiful setting. The interior had every square inch decorated as well as the outside seating/dining area. Festive boats circling around the huge lake for added entertainment. Parking lot is packed! Arrived on time for our dinner reservations. Our table had not cleared because of the previous occupants still there. After waiting approximately another 40 minutes they found a table for our party of seven. Our server came with menus ( which we had already memorized!) and took our beverage orders. We put our dinner orders in right away and fortunately a bread order and a Charcuterie board order. The Charcuterie board arrived about 20 minutes later with only one of the two bread basket orders. This kept everyone going until one of the seven orders arrived an hour after placement. About 32 minutes later, the other six entrees arrived. Don't order the Chicken Marsala... Burger dishes were good. Other pasta dishes were OK. As we were finishing up, our second bread basket order arrived. We were asked if anyone wanted dessert, and our table gave a polite "timely" decline. I've heard some buzz recently from friends about Stone Water Grill, so I finally gave it a try. The service was friendly and responsive, which set a great tone from the start. I ordered the short rib melt with fries. As for the sandwich itself those short ribs were seriously delicious. Generous portion, tender meat, and yes, it even fell out of the sandwich at one point (always a good sign in my book). The fries were solid too. I'm curious to explore more of the menu next time. I'm sure that's not unusual, but the unusual part was that after it was apparently resolved, an older grey haired guy approached the table and started yelling at those customers. Told them to shove the food up their asses. Yes, he said that . I didn't hear all the conversation but I definitely heard that. We asked the server who that was and they said it was the owner! BRE was amazing, we were seated under the shaded area and asked if we can sit on the do k near the water and she got us a table right away. The views of the natural lake and greens all around are beyond amazing. I came here last month for a private birthday event but decided to go back and explore the rest of their menu. This experience was amazing already but Bre made it over the top. We ordered the Gouda Chicken Pasta and the Citrus Chicken, both great choices and I would have no regrets ordering this again. OK now this place is usually pretty solid. It took forever for our food to come out on a Thursday night. I can appreciate the waiter keeping us informed and then the manager. We were even asked if we wanted some bread while we waited, but then proceeded to charge us for it.... I didn't ask them to take it off the bill because It was the principle they should have checked. No discount on the bill for the 45 minute wait for food.... Again, it's the gesture that matters most. The food was hot and delicious. We all had pasta dishes. My seafood pasta did not have shrimp as it was advertised. I'll come back again, but disappointed in this particular visit and management not recognizing the opportunity to keep the table happy. My small party had had a long day and were excited to unwind in the AC and grab a bite to eat, but no quickly were made to feel uncomfortable. I am actually so upset with my experience at Stonewater. I'm not one to come on here and make a bad review about a restaurant but I just feel like I have to warn others before they go. I'm going to make a very long experience as short as possible... Having a foodie instagram, I saw how beautifully decorated Stonewater was for the holidays and I just HAD to get there and feature them on my page. I made a reservation a week in advance knowing it could be busy. My husband and I get there and the parking lot was a hot mess. No big deal though. I go to the front desk and let them know we're here, they looked lost. They seat us outside, totally fine, however, right next to the door that people are going in and out of all night. About 5 minutes in, we order our drinks and 15 minutes later they come out. Right there and there we ordered our TWO entrees. One hour later, still no food. We asked our waiter and he said 7-10 more minutes. He came back after 10 minutes and food wasn't out so we asked for a manager. Manager comes over, goes to check the kitchen and says 10 more minutes. Comes back 10 minutes later and says we moved down two spots on the queue. I let the manager know that we have been sitting for TWO HOURS with no food. She offered us bread and a round of comped drinks, we denied. I told her if the food wasn't out in 10 minutes that we were leaving. Unfortunately, that's what it came down to an we left. Hungry and pissed off. I understand it being busy during the holidays but you have to be able to keep up with the people you're seating. Oh and while I was sitting at my table, the front desk called me 20 minutes into my dinner and asked me where I was. One star for the decorations read more

Tried this place out tonight my son had the chicken Parm with linguine and then a side of fries because he's 12 so why not my husband had the seafood pasta that was in a type of Alfredo sauce and I had the salmon with a side salad. My son loved his dish. He said the chicken was huge and well cooked. The sauce was good. The noodles were cooked perfectly, not mushy or too firm. The only downside was that there was a whole lot of cheese. Husbands dish was good a bit to much parmigiana for my taste. My cedar plank salmon was supposed to come with a bourbon glaze which I requested on the side. I didn't get the side so I don't know how the glaze taste tasted. I had the Caesar salad salad and the dressing was just you know kind you buy in the grocery store so nothing special there and it was almost flooded the salad so maybe get the sauce on the side.
