8/17/26 I've been coming here 20 years. Today was the worst experience I've ever had :( The hollandaise was HORRIBLY split. I let that slide. But the first bite I took had a shell the size of a quarter! For a poached egg??? COME ON!! So I changed the order to a Cuban. The interior of the Cuban was room temp pushing cold and the outside was barely toasted. The cheese wasn't even melted. Definitely not a great Cuban Sammy. I don't think I'll be back after this. 11/6/24 Service is usually on point. Kessie is my favorite! I usually get the Brunchies club. I like the Benedicts, too, but they do not always cook the eggs the way I like them. It also can get really loud in the main room. The acoustics are a bit off. I'm a fan of Brunchies. Come twice a month. I wanted a muffin but they've stopped offering them. However do not get the cinnamon roll. Very sticky and needs a better glaze and should be warm. Hollandaise sauce is delish. Service was ok today. She was prompt just not interactive. read more

Whenever I'm back in town, this is my go-to spot for brunch. The menu has a wide variety of options, and everything I've had has been great. The pancakes, biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, eggs, and crepes are all delicious. My arrival at Abby's a half an hour early had me looking for a way to kill time. Brunchies was a couple doors down and I had not had breakfast yet. They opened at 7am. Located on N. Dale Mabry in a busy plaza with a 5 Guys, Starbucks and BBQ place, the plaza houses an interesting array of businesses. Me, I frequent Abby's. There was a diner vibe to the place. A counter dining option was to the left as you entered, a large wide open dining area in the middle as well as 2 separate meeting/dining rooms for groups off to the right. Kitchen at the back and most beverage options behind the dining counter. A well organized place but maybe a tad disheveled. An extensive menu with loads of treats was in fine print so bring your glasses. Lots of delectable options but I found that many basic combos were missing in several categories. They did have the "build your own" option but that makes your basic ham and cheese omelet more expensive. Of the four "go to" items I usually order, none were on the menu. I ended up ordering a cuban sandwich and a cup of coffee, $12 and $5. The cuban came with a side. She offered potatoes but I declined and she then listed the other options. I got a salad. The cuban was small and the taste while good was greasy and not tradionional. If I had to describe, I would say the salami tasted like a sharp pepperoni. I ate my salad, drank my coffee and ate half a sandwich. Took the rest home, it was dinner. My experience was tarnished at the end when I got my bill and with tip, was $27. I examined my bill and found I was charged $4 for my salad, my side item. That left me fuming. I paid the bill, did not complain. I blame the server who should have told me that a salad, which she listed as a side option, was an upcharge of $4. To me, that's dishonest. Reminds me of servers that do not tell you a 20% gratuity is part of the bill and watch you add another 20%. Not planning to go back. Things like that ruffle my feathers! Service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The girls in there were very nice and informative about the menu! Ambiance is family style and bright. The issue was the food. Our group ordered shrimp and grits, the chorizo and eggs and a Benedict. The shrimp and grits were very soupy and the color was off putting but more than likely because it's made with a beef broth. (I come from the north so I am used to soft cheesy creamy grits.) the chorizo and eggs was fabulous! It was the perfect amount of spice and the portion size was great! The Benedict was good as well however (personal preference) the eggs could've been poached just a LITTLE longer. When me and my family went to Brunchies, it tasted amazing! I got the chicken and waffles and it tasted delicious! Definitely recommend. We also had amazing service! Our waiter checked on us a couple of times making sure we didn't need anything and that our food was good. One thing I didn't really care for was atmosphere. The walls were painted orange and it was kind of old themed but, it wasn't dirty! I would give 4.5 if I could. Overall, very good and the service was great. I would definitely recommend! read more

We arrived full swing into brunching hours and only met with a minimal wait. The service was great, the food was very good, and the Bellinis were fantastic. I had the stuffed French toast and it hit the spot.. her sandwich looked awesome as well and the potatoes I had to steal a few haha! Delicious.. Brunchies has a delightful warmth, a very family-friendly atmosphere that was pretty busy during the Sunday brunch rush. The menu presented a decent variety of options, from the menu items I had there could be some improvement. The short stack pancakes were dry for me, a touch of butter or more flavor could elevate the dish as well. The lavender lemonade had more of a syrupy taste. Adding a few lemons slices improved the overall drink, I would add more lemon and water to the drink to dilute teh syrup a little. My main I chose and enjoyed was the Eggs Bruncheros! I liked the nice crispy texture of the tortillas at the base. The toppings worked well together, overall a good dish. There is some room for improvement on the other meny items but overall an okay experience. If you are going for a classic and homey brunch experience with the fam this is for sure an option. read more

They offer gluten-free options on their omelettes, some skillets, and other dishes when replacing regular bread with gluten-free bread. I ordered the Homemade Corned Beef Skillet with GF bread on the side. I would have liked to see GF pancakes on the menu, since it can be mundane and repetitive when eggs are the only gluten-friendly options available. We have eaten here several times and every time the food is delicious and unique. There is a slightly Latin flare to most of the dishes though mainstream simple is also available. The food combinations pop with freshness and flavor! You cannot go wrong with this restaurant! Highly recommended! The servers treat you like family and are very attentive. I've been here a few times and while the food is pretty good, I would not choose to come again. The service has always been just okay, employees aren't super friendly but not rude, and it is a little slow. I really like the portobello croissant Benny! It's unique and super filling. The hash browns are okay but don't have much seasoning. The cuban was extremely good especially for a non cuban restaurant. Overall, I would come if someone invited me but based on the service and food not being anything mouth watering, it would not be my first pick for breakfast. It is nice that they have many options including lunch items and are accommodating with food sensitive like providing gluten free bread. I was pleasantly surprised at my experience here. I wasn't expecting much, just another breakfast place in a strip mall with food that is just okay, but it was definitely good. Plenty of seating, they even have a side room with more tables. The juices are good because everything is freshly made. The food was great, under seasoned but otherwise it was very tasty. Restaurant was noisy. The service was great and the food tasted and looked good but unfortunately, I got very sick after eating at this restaurant. I called the following day after I recovered and informed them. Inquired what type of butter they use on the toast and what they cook the eggs in and they told me margarine. I didn't ask how they cooked the potatoes. No apology offered and no other option offered to keep me coming back. I don't consume margarine so I'm guessing that is what triggered my very bad stomach upset. My friend had the same entree and did not experience any issue but she eats any kind of butter. read more

I really like the feel of the dinning area. Gives American diner. Love the booth but team spirit flag hides the natural lighting making it feel a bit gloomy on the inside. So It was a bit of a wait for our food and We had a little spread and almost all the food was good. I was not thrilled with the berry crepe. This was a limited edition dish for Mother's Day but it was so delicious that it should be a permanent addition to the menu! The chimichurri-hollandaise sauce was divine - which sounds like an eggsageration, but trust me it's not! The pork belly bacon was tender and cooked to perfection. Quick things to know if you don't want to read: Cutting corners on food, service is ok but rushes, diner style loud so great if you have kids. There is a Brunchies off of 54 and it's nothing like this. So please know that first. Let's start from the beginning. We order coffee, our food and a cinnamon roll. Being regulars at the other Brunchies we already knew what we wanted. Coffee was good but they never brought anymore creamer. Cinnamon roll comes out and it looks like a honey bun warmed up that they tried to make look homemade. This thing was flat. We cut into it and it was still doughy. We told the server and she said "yeah, we get them frozen and just microwave them. Do you want me to microwave it more or take it off the bill?" We opted to take it off. Next, biscuits and gravy were mostly biscuits and little bit of gravy. Eggs Benedict, the ham/Canadian bacon was about the size of two quarters and not even as thick as a quarter. At first we thought they forgot that ham. Overall the food still tasted good but they have clearly cut back on a number of things that we found didn't justify the cost. The cinnamon roll was $5, and the eggs Benedict was $14, B&G was $13. Gave it 3 stars because service was fast and food still tasted ok, but I would recommend you just go about 1 mile farther to Noble Crust and get the same food, with the right portions, for the same cost and I think it taste better. It had eggs, potato wedges(though the menu description said curly fries), cheese, chorizo, peppers. The spice was good for me. The only nitpick would be it could use more egg relative to the other ingredients. 4/5 Pumpkin Bacon Waffle($9.50) - This is a seasonal item. The waffle was cooked and had lots of bacon embedded in the waffle itself. The pralnes were a nice addition. MY main issue was it was that the pumpkin flavor seemed minimal even though the waffle tasted good. This was one of the few places I've seen that has pumpkin waffles in the area(Waffle House doesnt carry one alas.) 3/5 The dining area is kind of noisy most of the time so I wouldnt have an intimate date or try to get some schoolwork done. Stopped in at Brunchies after a trail walk near by. The menu was extremely overwhelming but the staff was there to help me narrow down a tasty option. I had the Bayou Omelette minus the cream cheese and had no complaints. The omelette had a sufficient amount of shrimp and spinach but definitely lacked a Cajun taste, but it was still good. They have some sort of house hot sauce that is so good, if you're looking for a kick ask for that. The brunch crowd is booming so if you're coming with a crowd be prepared to wait. If its just you or another person they have a little bar area that you can sit and eat with no wait. The staff is super welcoming and nice so even if you have to wait 10 or 15 mins, the service and food are worth the wait. read more

Why 4 stars? Because there was more to like than not. --- --- --- I've been in this parking lot about 150 times, so I am not really sure what took me so long to finally visit. I peeked at the menu recently and noticed that they had Guava French Toast, so I very quickly decided it was about time I stop in. We came on Father's Day and had about a 40-45 minute wait pre-10am. I'm not sure if it's packed on a non-holiday, but it was certainly the place to be when we visited. My wife was super boring with her meal choice - she just got the standard breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, etc. And as much as it was kind of her fault for ordering that, it was even more disappointing when it arrived at our table. It looked at tasted like a breakfast you'd find at a Motel 6. If we were going strictly off of her meal, I'd go with a 2-star rating because our customer service was very friendly. Fortunately, I ordered the lobster benedict, and it was quite amazing. I'll admit, when it came out at the same time as my wife's meal, it looked equally sad. Just based off of looks, it seemed like it had been cooked about 10-15 minutes before it was brought out to us. I don't know how to describe the look of it other than by using the word "deflated." The good news? It really was delicious. I don't know if it was the lobster meat, the hollandaise sauce or a combination of both, but this was one of the better benedicts I've ever had. The bad news? This was on the special Father's Day menu and our server mentioned that it's only available for a limited time. Hopefully it ends up being super popular and finds its way to becoming a regular item. Finally, we shared the guava stuffed french toast for dessert. This was probably the most complex french toast I've ever had. It was tasty, but also very heavy (shocker.) It's basically served with two giant slices of french toast on top of each other and some kind of guava spread in the middle. The guava was not very evenly distributed because some of my early bites had none, but by the time we got to the end, there was a ton of it. It's not an easy dish to pull off, but knowing what I know now, I'd just pull the slices a part and get that perfect ratio of guava:bread in every bite. I'd love to check Brunchie's out again - their regular menu online is enormous! It would be hard for someone to come here and not find something they'd like. read more
