Very unsatisfied with our visit today! My wife ordered the farmhouse hash bowl and the food was so over done from sitting in the hot window waiting to be served that her egg was the consistency of a hard boiled egg and not of an over easy egg. Once the food was delivered to the table the server was not back to check on our table until it was time for the check. At that point we respectfully told the server about our meals and she said "I'm sorry" and gave us the check. Once we checked out at the front the host never asked us how are meal was and it was obvious this location does not care about their customer satisfaction. We unfortunately will not be back to this location. read more

I can't ever seem to eat breakfast at First Watch without overindulging. Once again, that was the case this morning, as I stuffed myself with their traditional breakfast combo only to follow it with Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with strawberries (or what I like to refer to as "breakfast dessert".) Needless to say, I did not require lunch afterwards. I have tried most everything on their menu and particularly enjoy their apple chicken sausage, rainbow toast (when available), waffles and huge multigrain pancakes. This was my first visit to this location and was more than a little disappointed in its sanitary score of 90. Due to that fact, and because I simply enjoy the overall atmosphere more, I will return to the other Waverly location on my next visit. This place never fails to satisfy us. I mean you have classic breakfast dishes here. Great service at this location all the time. Out of all dishes my top favorite is some classic Florentine eggs Benedict. I mean biting into the egg on the toast and having some bust spill over my spinach is the most satisfying feeling ever good grief. Service is amazing. Their specials are always on point. A-MAZING!!!! I've been looking for a good brunch place close by . I had a friend in town and we wanted to grab something before she headed home !!!!! Soooo good! Parking lot was full but decided to see how long the wait was and we actually got seated right away. Holey donuts are Amazing , donut holes with cinnamon and two dipping sauces !! Then I got one of the specials . Amazing and tried the morining meditation drink to go . My friend had a healthier option and loved hers I tried a bite and it was good !!! I have been patiently waiting to come here! My husband and I have such busy work schedules that usually clash! We made time in our busy Sunday to come here and enjoy a meal together. Every time I had driven past this place, there has always been a line of people outside. We knew ahead of time there would be a wait, but we had other errands to run so we weren't bent out of shape about it. When we arrived, we were greeted by many staff members and I'm pretty sure the guy taking our name and number was either a manager or owner. He was on top of everything and helped out his staff because they were busy. Love when managers/owners do that. Shows a lot about them. We were told it would be about 45 minutes to an hour. We had to go to Lowe's anyways so time flew by. Our waiter was super nice. I'm sad I don't remember her name but she had brownish reddish hair and wore glasses. (May not help but that's all I can say lol). She was quick and had a great personality! I ordered the breakfast tacos and a side of biscuits and gravy. My husband ordered a ham and cheese omelet with a side of grits and some toast. I LOVED IT ALL. I am a huge breakfast fan and this place hit the spot! I'm a huge fan of chorizo and I find it quite difficult to find a place that makes some good chorizo. This place did it right! I can't wait to come back here. I highly recommend. read more

I came here on a Sunday morning. I was expecting a wait but was surprised to find they had a community table. I didn't mind sitting there with just my fiancé and I. I have been to First Watch in Maryland but this was my first in Charlotte. The staff is very friendly and the food is great! If you do have to wait they have fresh coffee available. You can also reserve a spot in line with the Yelp app. They have great seasonal specials. Their coffee is amazing! I always have multiple cups. They have healthy options and a large breakfast and lunch selection. read more

If wasn't for Covid I would give them 3 stars, but because I know service sometimes is being affected by it I'll give them 4. To begin we were told the wait for a table would be 20 min but we ended up waiting 45 min. The food looks great, they did a great job with presentation, I loved they use cage free eggs and healthier dishes, but I have a VERY picky husband and we kinda of missed to see a few simpler options in the menu, maybe a build your own omelet or something like that. I don't know if my conception of how much a brunch should cost is outdated or if I'm too used to cheap chain brunch restaurants, but I think it was a tiny bit overrated, we were 2 adults and a 2 yo, we ordered a kids meal, 2 regular dishes, 2 coffees, a juice and our bill was close to 50 bucks. While eating our chairs were constantly being bumped by people and servers passing, so if you can, don't let them sit you right in front of the kitchen and entrance. Our waitress was very nice! She helped us with everything we needed, but it was a little slow. Maybe if there wasn't the issue with covid, the service would've been faster. So a friend and myself decided to eat brunch here on fathers day since her dad wasn't in town and my dad wanted to be a couch potato and do nothing. Crazy right? As usual all of my friends generally depend on me to find somewhere new and exciting to go eat so I had been seeing First watch post on Instagram and decided to give them a trial run. My thoughts was this better be good because its almost a 30 minute drive from my house because I live in Steele Creek area and First Watch was on the other side of town darn near pretty much in Matthews. We both were happy, the service was great, we sat outside due to the long wait in the inside so I didn't get any pics inside but it was a real country feel in the there. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes that were oh so tasty, the million dollar bacon which was saturated in a maple type syrup of some sort ,and topped it all off with the kale tonic and my friend tried the hibiscus limeade. If they move a location to the Steele creek area I will definitely go back . and watch tv and didn't want to go anywhere we went out on their day. read more

Ooh how we LOVE First Watch each and every location. We yearned for this place to be more accessible as we've been to First Watch several times in Atlanta, GA - Arizona - Katy, TX, Orlando, FL and more. We just LOVE the atmosphere, food and service and haven't been disappointed in any of the many locations. This past Saturday we got to check out our now local First Watch which is exciting. The experience was as expected which was superb. We approached and immediate noticed all the people waiting around outside, I was almost discouraged because we were so hungry and knew it would be a wait. The earth and stars lined up and said STAY but unveiling a parking space at the door. We pulled in and my husband went toward the door and was greeted by a young lady outside with an iPad in which he put our name on the list for a 20 min wait. The ground out front was full of colors and writing and there was a gray pail with plenty of sidewalk chalk. Our toddler was excited (this is a plus above all other location we've visited as you have to keep your children entertained on your own while waiting) and got his art on while we waited. Upon being notified via Yelp that our table was ready (They Have the NoWait App, so get on the list in advance. We found that out once we arrived) we entered and the floor plan is nice and open and clean. We were seated and immediately greeted by our server Tequila (she worked previously at the Raleigh location). We ordered and our food did take a little while but we were busy planning out our next stops after leaving there so it was okay. Our food came out perfect and just like we ordered, hot, fresh and tasty. We devoured our food and as we completed a item someone was there to clean it up. When we pulled up to First Watch it didn't look too fancy but we were eager to get in. I hadn't ever heard of this restaurant before but thanks to a Facebook ad here I am. The hostess and servers are all wearing masks. The menu's can be accessed by scanning the QR code or you can select to receive paper menus. Our server is West, he is knowledgeable of the menu and he explained the most popular dishes as well as the daily specials. Its a huge chalk board that mentions some menu items. I was especially impressed with the condiments coming out in a plastic cup versus sitting out on the table. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes -they were humongous & toped with strawberries & lemon curd. The food was piping hot & served with a cinnamon syrup. I will be back here soon. The restaurant was nice spacious size. I definitely would love to come here as a group next time. If you drop in definitely request, West! Pretty tasty. The lavender drink is 5 stars by itself. The million dollar bacon was literally inedible. Spice is good but I'm guessing the cook was not happy about being up early on a Sunday judging by how spicy this bacon was. I had to wash it off under hot water in the sink before I could eat it. Will eventually (?) order from here again but absolutely NOT spending an extra $6 for some bacon I cannot eat. No, you can't dismiss it easily. I've been in food service for 20+ years and this was quite literally the most inedible thing I've tried. Disappointed. read more

First I would like to give a shout out to our favorite server West!! He is always very friendly, personable, and goes above and beyond what most servers do, always attentive and courteous, he is great!! The food is delicious, and their donuts are gourmet, and always satisfies. Different coffee choices might be nice. The atmosphere is nice, as we go early before the crowds, the seats are comfortable and we do like the music they play. BREAKFAST GOALS! We moved from Florida to Charlotte a few years ago and have been praying for a First Watch to open in the area. At last our prayers have been answered! We LOVE LOVE LOVE this spot and it was much needed as there aren't that many great breakfast spots around. It is healthy and fresh. My favorite is always the avocado toast, but the Floridian waffle and Trifecta are a must try. Speaking of must try items...don't forget to try the million dollar bacon if your have the chance, AMAZING! You will be hooked on this spot, guaranteed. Lunch today was a spur of the moment decision. My big kid and I were in the area and we thought we'd pop into First Watch for lunch. We walked in and immediately thought the place was crowded and there wasn't going to be a place for us to sit. Quite the contrary, plenty of room and might I add there isn't any place like First Watch in the area. Very chic and rustic. The food is like nothing I've been to in Charlotte or the surrounding area either, by far, not your greasy spoon. We were greeted by our server Kheelda. She was very bubbly, pleasant and patient. I had the double stacked egg sandwich and hash browns. DELISH! I could only eat 1/2 the sandwich. My big kid had the choose 2. Roast beef sandwich, he said it was the best sandwich he's had in a long time and he had the fully loaded cobb salad. I like when you order coffee they give you a nice size kraffe for your table and a nice sized milk bottle size of water. We will be going again...so many yummy things to try and hopefully Kheelda will be there too. read more

Very tasty and full of body...that's cuz i just had to have my two juicy sunny side up liquify all over my hash potatoes (tho, they were chunky, not the normal strips of potatoes fried together). The comfortable furnishings of simply piped, wooden shelving and barn like wooden flooring said "come on in and enjoy textures for your eyes." We were constantly looking around in search of more. It was a good crowd but not too crowded to be uncomfortable as the seat spacing must hv bn well considered. Only bummer was our coffee tasted burnt. Should hv spoken up. Good quality and healthy food. Went here for breakfast. Pro: Healthy, Tasty, Comfort food elevated. Con: cost more than your neighborhood diner, but worth it. Matcha latte pancakes on spring menu. Hint of matcha tea, not overwhelming. Come with blueberries and granolas drizzled with cream and blueberry sauce. It was perfect for me, didn't need extra syrup. Avocado toast with eggs. Nice thick spread of avocado on grain bread with olive oil and hint of lemon. Loved it. Better if the bread was toasted just a little more with olive oil. Quinoa protein bowel. They offered a few version. This bowel had quinoa cooked with kale, cremini mushroom, Italian mushroom, tomato, and Parmesan cheese. Come out hot with two pouched eggs. Great taste. Better if it had 1/2 cup more of the quinoa mixture. Not an every week breakfast unless you have the money. Definitely a special or 4 times a year place to have breakfast. However what are you willing to pay for good quality and healthy food. Our total bill with coffee was 35.00 and 7.00 for tip. Love the farm house decor. They had coffee and water while you wait. Coffee pot left at table, pour when you want hot coffee topped off. Would recommend this place. 5 stars if portion slightly more and price 10% less. read more

1. Their website advertises free delivery over $50. After entering the order for 12 hungry technicians I attempted to complete check out but there was no delivery option. When I called in the man who picked up the phone was extremely rude and simply stated we don't offer delivery. I mentioned that it is listed on their website & asked how do I take advantage of it. The young man continued to say they don't offer delivery & I would need to order thru DoorDash. 2. The website said my food would be ready at 9:15am. Since I do not have a DoorDash account & it would be too much of a hassle to reprocess the order thru a 3rd party site - a co-worker went to pick up the food. When he arrived 5 minutes after the promised time the young lady at the desk told him the food was already picked up. WHAT!!!! After calling and being rudely talked to by the person at the desk, placed on what I thought was an indefinite hold, had the phone slammed down in my ear & told "it's not our fault someone took your order off the shelf we don't have anyone watching it." My co-worker sat for an additional hour waiting to them freshly remake the food. 3. After waiting at this point almost 2 hours for breakfast everyone was disappointed with their meal. The scrambled eggs were cold & runny, the gravy was as thick as mayo, the grits looked like mashed potates & the potatoes were burnt! 4. If I could score them a 0 star I would! There was no compensation or apology ever offered during the entire transaction. We will never order food from this location again. The entire staff needs to be trained in customer service & being a basic human being skills! read more

4/17/18: Had lunch with friends at First Watch; it was a delightful experience. I wasn't expecting that I would like it as much as I did... I mean it's so easy to make breakfast at home; we've all done it and we're all good at it. But, the crew here take their cooking seriously, and by the end of the meal I was convinced that letting them prepare my breakfast was well worth the trip. I had the Frittata Rustica, which is an Italian style omelette with kale, roasted crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan. I chose the lightly dressed greens as the side. The frittata was cooked just right and the greens were fresh. Delicious. Our server was very attentive and I'm greatly, The Owner, (I believe his name was Manack), came by our table and talked with us for a while; he asked about our meal and for feedback... I really liked that. I think First Watch will become a regular experience for me. read more
