I picked up the Loaded Salmon Bagel (summer 2020 special) and was pleasantly surprised to have a giant cup of fruit on the side! Just when I thought breakfast could not get any better, I ate at First Watch. Let me begin my saying the staff was friendly and very accommodating. the atmosphere is cute and the chairs are pretty comfortable. Now the food....I ate a Carnitas Breakfast Burrito, which is a special on the menu. It was amazing. Just the right amount of veggies, meat, and eggs. A little heat, but not too much or overpowering. The dish was huge and I didn't think I was going to eat it all - but I did, it was that good. There was another comment that mentioned the cleanliness of the facility. I visited toward the end of the shift and it was extremely clean. I think he must've visited on a "off" day or one that was short of staff. I don't know but it was not my experience. I don't love it. First Watch serves breakfast and lunch along with juice. It's expensive for what you get. I meet people here sometimes, and I find it on a par with Panera without the rewards. It's the same fare as anywhere: eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, with a healthy veneer that they charge for. I have had the market veggie sandwich, the veggie burger, the avocado toast, and the whole grain pancake. For healthy fare, it's heavy on salt and oil. The lunches come with a side of green salad that's practically translucent. I have asked for the plain greens, but it's pre-dressed. Whenever I eat there, I feel heavy and bloated. Their coffee is on the dark, bitter side. Also expensive, but you get a large mug. The service is usually decent. It's clean. I just don't see the allure. It feels farm fresh fake to me. read more

3 of us went here for lunch. We all got different things. I got the 2 egg, 1 pancake, and maple bacon deal, with one of their watermelon/mint concoctions for a drink. My pancake was good, but kinda small, as the menu says "HUGE" pancake, I should've taken a picture! The eggs were OK, and the bacon.... well, I have 2 complaints... 1 - the bacon is good, but take some of the syrup off. Mine was absolutely drenched in syrup, I like syrup on my bacon, but not swimming it. 2 - me and my coworkers felt sick immediately after we came back from lunch. Mind you, the only thing we ate was First Watch. I'm a chef myself and there was definitely some food poisoning or cross-contamination. We all had the bacon and the watermelon/mint juice. It was definitely one of those. All 3 of us had the same symptoms of upset stomach and nausea. Sigh... However, the food quality and service was good. My wife and I have heard good thing about this place so decided to meet here for a little lunch date. I ordered the soup and sandwich combo and my wife got some chi seed, granola, fresh fruit thingy that came with peanut butter on toast! The soup I had was the clam chowder which was pretty good and a turkey sandwich which was awesome! Now my wife's meal on the other hand, it was was awesome! To be honest, I was a little jealous! The only real downside to this is that they had some sort of special drink that was called Orange Crush I think. It had carrots, orange, lemon, tummeric, and I think some other crap. It was horrible! But I am chalking that up to a bad decision! We loved this place, and there was probably another 20 things on the menu that I would have loved to try, so we will be back! read more

Not sure if it's because they just opened but we had really poor service. Dirty cups, food took a very long time and each plate came out one by one with 10 minutes between each plate. Our table of 3 was fully served over 20 minutes and we waited 45 min for the food. Our waitress seemed uninterested in basic service as we went without coffee and water when we asked for clean cups (dried food on the rims and insides seemed to have old juice). When I asked when the other two plates would be coming as the first was served, her answer was, 'we're going as fast as we can.' The food was just fine but it was awkward and poor service. I'd only go back when I hear they've improved and the servers seem to care about doing a good job. read more

(Sigh)... we love this place during the week! My husband and daughter and I have visited a few times and have always left feeling full and happy. The service has always been top notch. This is not the case for the weekend. I've been there twice, the most recent was this Sunday. My daughter and I were seated within about 5 minutes from arriving - we used the no wait function and it worked perfectly! But then came the service... the waiter seemed crabby and uninterested. Then our food finally came... The waffle for my daughter was so dry it basically crumbled when I cut it. I sent it back and the new one was better. I ordered the Frittata Rustica - totally burnt on the bottom and just terrible. If I had the time I would have sent that back too. Such a disappointing time there again on the weekend... the food is usually delicious! When we went to pay our bill the woman didn't even ask how everything was - it's like she knew what I was going to say already! Came during the week and it was busy but no wait. I appreciated immensely that they left a carafe of coffee at our table, but they brought no water at first which was odd. Not a big deal, they brought it when we asked, with a pitcher for refills. Waiter was able to recommend things on the menu and the food was delicious. My husband got the chikichanga and loved it. My first experience with First watch was originally in Virginia and I enjoyed my experience there that I had to try it back when I got home to Milwaukee. The service here was great and they kept tables clean. I ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich which was delightful. The bacon was crispy and the egg was cooked to perfection on the brioche bun. The only other comment I would make was there was a little too much arugula added to the sandwich which at times was overpowering. My sister ordered the avocado toast and did scrap off half the avocado because there was a lot added onto the multigrain toast. She did add salt and pepper to the toast since it wasn't seasoned as much as she would like. We also ordered a waffle and we must say that waffle was buttery, light, and fluffy. Would definitely order the waffle and egg sandwich again. Overall the service was great, egg sandwich was wonderful, and the avocado toast was sub par. Would love to come back sometime soon. I had an amazing first time experience at First Watch! One of my good friends recommended it and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Avocado Toast, a carrot cake pancake and breakfast potatoes. They all were delicious! I would definitely order all of them again but I have to say the avocado toast was my favorite! My friend ordered the Salmon Benedict with breaksfast potatoes and also loved it as well. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I ate breakfast here yesterday and had one of best experiences I have had in my life. First off, they put an entire pot of coffee on the table if you're drinking it so that you never have to wait for a refill. Second..the place is packed and yet, the service was impeccable. You had your main server taking your order, getting drinks etc. But it was one of those restaurants where nobody walks out of the kitchen empty handed therefore food is brought out in a timely manner and it's fresh and hot. They really had everything figured out here and they should not change a thing. In addition and most important, the food was incredible!! So many wonderful, unique choices! When my food arrived, I told my husband that I was going to eat it all. Even the toast was incredible. Lastly, the ambiance was great there. They decorate their restaurants so nicely. I've had different meals but my favorite has to be the Smoked Salmon Tzatziki Toast (added Blueberry pancake) and Morning Meditation. The chicken sausage is delicious, too. We tried Mimosa's but the wait was over an hour so we went to First Watch and even though they were busy, they got us in just 15 minutes later! Super professional staff, the food is OUTstanding. Special note: the pancakes are gigantic and filling so you probably only need one. If they're still offering the donut holes, get them without hesitation. The bacon is also amaze balls. Update 10/19/19 although the food is good here, the water smells like wet dog. Will not be back until they fix what ever their issue is. Has been this way the last 5 times I've been there. My friends and I used to go after church. No longer. You could bring your own water however it's still the same water they're making coffee with and washing the dishes. Maybe it's a soap? I don't know but it is gross. The waitress and hostess also confirmed they had a problem. I like the food here very much. It's really busy so call ahead or sit at the bar/window like I do. Is it sad that I'd love to give them a 5 for the food but the service was terrible! :( our server James failed to provide good service the entire time. We asked about a popular drink on the menu only to find out that they aren't making it any more it's 12:30pm and they aren't making any more? The waiter didn't want to ask the kitchen if they were still making it or not. We were missing numerous items when the orders came including 2 meals he forget to deliver. Didn't come back and check on us. We asked another server and she checked on the 2 missing meals and brought them back. She gave an explanation on the drink and doesn't understand why they keep running out either but offered to give my mom a sample of another drink to try. Wow how kind! Our own server never came back, the male manager avoided our table and we had a 3rd service check on us. I know we didn't ask anything unusual or unruly. Especially knowing that one at our table has worked as a service herself knowing that he truly was ignoring us and just waiting on us was an inconvenience to him. Never checked on how the food was, never offered any napkins, never checked to make sure we even got our food! Please Focus on better server training! Or maybe find someone that wants to actually follow up on a table. But the manager never checked in either so I guess it starts from the top. read more
