I would give it 4 stars but just can't believe the cook would send out burnt potatoes that I am sure he wouldn't eat either. he must need glasses. the rest of the food was good the service was good. we tried some different menu items which were good aside from the potatoes which I picked through, but especially those in the take away order. Can't be trusted for takeaway apparently. We go to 1st Watch because they have healthy food. This place was good. We were looking for a quick meal. I am trying to cut out carbs and sugar. I was able to eggs and meat (protein) yes it all comes with bread or toast, so you just don't eat it. I asked for my greens to be plain but that got over looked. No biggy. Cost was on the high side, 4 adults...$75. What do I know? A lot of the Rowing people attending the National Championships were eating here. I'd might come back but wish they had heavy whipping cream for my coffee. Disappointments: The meat in my omelette was just deli meat with a slab of deli cheese thrown on top. My wife was hoping for fresh salmon filet in her omelette but it was more like can salmon. Still a great place for breakfast I love the First Watch restaurant chain. We finally visited our neighborhood First Watch today for a late breakfast. It was busy on this Sunday and we had a bit of a wait to be seated. Once seated our cheerful server got us coffee while we looked over the menu. I believe this is our first visit to this location since before the pandemic and I was happy to see they still have my favorite, Parma Hash. This potato based dish with a couple of eggs includes mushrooms, sausage, onions, cheese, and more. It does not have green peppers. Very flavorful on its own, yet out of habit for years I still like adding ketchup and salt. Loved it, it was a good as I fondly remembered. Our server did a nice job, checking on us, getting us a couple of things, dropping off the bill early enough so we didn't have to wait. Two things I miss from the old days, ketchup bottles and a container holding mint candy at the cashier where you pay. I hope both return some day. read more

Avocado toast is one of the best in town. The servers have really improved and seem to be working as a team. Refreshing to see this location much improved. The regular bacon is delicious. Coffee is strong and served in a coffee jug for you to continue serving yourself which I love. Super glad to have this site fully operational. read more

I think First Watch has always been an extremely solid breakfast and brunch option in Florida - and this restaurant did not disappoint. There is a large variety of menu options, but don't let that convince you that they aren't good. Large variety keeps you coming and they definitely make most things in house and have excellent cooks. Glad to see there are always new seasonal items being added to the menu. Wish there was more spicier options for food though! I'm picky about breakfast. Certain items are the litmus test as to well there will be a repeat visit. We were out and about late morning and the wife suggested First Watch. I'd noticed them around town so agreed to try them out. First impressions - very friendly and professional staff. We were seated promptly and the server took our drink orders. We asked for a minute or so to peruse the menu. Upon first glance I wasn't impressed. Saw a lot of marketing words like "artisanal", "cage free", "organic". In my experience places that throw that terminology around tend to not follow up in the taste category, but i promised the wife I wouldn't pre-judge. The food came out relatively fast. Where we were seated, we had a clear view of the kitchen. I was happy to see how efficiently it looked like everything ran. No visible chaos at all. Back to the food. I had what amounted to a basic breakfast. Scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, fried potatoes. The wife had a a dish with chicken and quinoa in it. She said it was very good. My breakfast was also good. Not impressive but good. Can eggs be too fluffy? Can bread be too fru fru? These are the questions that have plagued man since the dawn of baconkind! Overall a good experience backed by decently good food. Would I recommend it? Sure. Will I be back? Maybe. When it comes to breakfast, I'm more of a diner kind of guy :) read more

Good service but they don't know how to properly take care of online orders. I ordered for the 1st time online at 10:53 am. My order was going to be ready at 11:08 am for "ASAP" pick up. When I got there, It was quite the busy atmosphere I'd expect it to be. I didn't see my order in the pick up station. It's now, 11:15 am. I informed the host I was picking up and he said he'll check on my order. He got back and said it'll be ready soon. Fortunately there were available seating for people waiting to dine in and online orders. About 5 minutes later a sweet lady name Karina or Sabrina, handed me my order. Finally after 20 minutes, I was on my way home and excited to eat my breakfast. The food was hot and fresh, but they forgot to place my grits in my bag. The lady, from 1st watch called and left messages apologizing for the fact that she forgot to place the grits in my bag. I've been calling back to situate this, but no one is answering. They should have someone designated to answer calls. At this point, I just want my money back. Update: I changed the 3 stars to 2 stars because my husband called and finally at 1:40 pm he was able to speak to a live person from the restaurant. He was told someone by the name of Jill or another manager will call and help. No one ever called back. So I had to call and was able to speak to Jill and she said she'll refund the grits (I'll be waiting on that transaction). She was apathetic of the inconvenience caused. This is my go to brunch chain when I'm in Florida. Love the healthy options and their juices. We came on a Saturday morning around 9:15 and didn't have any trouble getting a table (it does get busier as you head towards lunchtime). We chose to sit outside, and it was super pleasant (had a fan going, shade overhead). I loved our server--she was friendly and helped fix our wobbly table. I went for a kale tonic and the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. The kale tonic is my favorite--would highly recommend. You can't go wrong with their omelettes/waffles/French toast, but this was my first time getting the quinoa bowl, and although it was good and filling, it was a bit sour (due to the lemon/dried tomatoes). I would highly recommend trying this place out (although I will say the location next to Sarasota Square Mall/Westfield is my favorite since that's near the water). read more

I went this morning with 5 friends after having a great experience there on Monday of the same week. Overall the food was good and well liked by all 5 of us, The surprise came at the end of breakfast (and the reason for my rating) when an extra slice of toast (they give 1) was a $4.00 up charge!!!! I get that things are expensive now, but $4.00 for a piece of bread? Enjoy your meal there, just don't ask for an extra slice of bread! First Watch in general is overrated in my personal opinion. The main thing I don't enjoy is their eggs are not scrambled, they're just fried and chopped up and called scrambled. The fresh juices are good and so are the salads. The place is always clean and has a very nice atmosphere. I have liked First Watch for some time now, but due to a medical diet change, I have found another reason to like this company (all locations). I must be gluten-free and trying to find a restaurant that offers GF menu items is tough. I noticed that FW had GF toast on its menu. That opened up all the sandwiches and French toast to me. I was in a breakfast mood and ordered the GF French toast. It was very tasty and along with some scrambled eggs I was set for the day. I was also impressed with their pomegranate green tea (no caffeine either). It had a much bolder taste than the normal green tea. My wife had her normal chicken salad which she always enjoys. The service was wonderful as usual at any FW. It wasn't totally busy at about 1:00 p.m.which was a pleasant surprise. read more

While traveling we like to stop at this location for a couple of reasons, very close to I-75 and always hot and delicious. Today when I made the order it said it would be ready in 12 min. Went to First Watch on Cattleman this morning. I wish they had a 10 star option as my wife and I had the most incredible experience for breakfast. I can make a pretty decent breakfast at home and when I go out and pay for someone to make me breakfast it should be as good or better than what I make. So it's better for me to order something that I wouldn't ordinarily make at home. Today I ordered the shrimp and grits off the menu. I've got to say that this was the best shrimp and grits I ever had. It comes with shrimp and grits. Of course also in andouille sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, onions, green pepper, and other spices. (Sunday) Fam was heading to the beach and we needed to grab a brunch before we hit the sand. We arrived around 11:30. Place was busy, as you'd expect, but not a madhouse just yet. (I would recommend checking in online to ensure seating.) We were seated quickly. Host teams were on point. Our server(s) was pleasant. This service team provided effortless and seamless service to our group the entire meal. Great job and Thanks! The food was fresh, hot and delish! My meal of choice was the Chickichanga. Side of potatoes and a fruit cup. That was a great meal...mmmm I was told the Kale tonic drink was a fav amongst our group. So kale it was. And man was I glad I did that! That drink was truly refreshing. So good. If you've never tried it and you think you'd like a fresh kale, green apple, lemon cuke drink, I would highly recommend this one. Our overall experience at this location was excellent. The team, from the manager all the way to the front line had this place running like a Swiss watch. She sat me, gave me coffee, and never bothered to return to my table until I waved at her (I was already 1/2 done with my first cup of coffee). She had already waited on several other new customers. When I waved, she rudely said, "just a minute", and continued to fuss with things at the hostess station. She finally came to me. I ordered, and asked for a glass of juice. I ordered smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Our order got lost in the shuffle. After 45 minutes they realized we weren't served and finally came over to say our food was second to come out of the kitchen. Well, it came out and I got the wrong dish, his was cold. They realized they gave me the wrong food and asked if I wanted what I actually ordered. Afraid it would take another 45 minutes I declined, we ate the fruit and paid the check and would not recommend this place to anyone. This was my worst experience at first watch ever. My boyfriend called the day before to place a reservation and was told they don't do reservations. It's Mother's Day so my boyfriend, his mom, and I give our name to the hostess and are told originally a 30 minute wait. This wasn't bad and pretty normal for a busy day. When 30 minutes had passed and we went to the hostess to see how much longer and magically the wait time went up from 30 minutes to 35-50 minutes after we had already been waiting. At this time she told us that it is because people are using the app/website and are being "bumped" ahead of us. So my boyfriend goes on the website and puts his name in and is told 20-40 minutes. We then waited 30 more minutes (so an hour total now of waiting) just to be told that our wait time was still 35 minutes. At this point we just left because this is bullshit. To not accept reservations but let people be pushed ahead of others that are literally waiting in front of the building is wrong and a horrible business practice. The hostess that we were dealing with was an older white lady with blonde hair.
