This place is excellent for just regular old bacon and eggs but also fabulous for specialty breakfast items! One of my all time favorite avocado toast places. It's served on a "Texas toast" thick type of multigrain bread and has the perfect amount of salt and lemon. This morning their special convinced me to stray to a smoked salmon cucumber toast. Served with a chive cream cheese spread and capers and onion, I didn't even miss the bagel! They also have a really nice fresh juice selection. read more

I was trying to order take out over the phone because their website and DoorDash weren't taking online orders. I got hung up on once and called a second time and I guess they didn't realize they answered by mistake and I overheard one of the girls say "turn off the volume on the phone". And I tried calling again after and no one was answering. Ignoring customers phone calls really shows great customer service. I went there for the first time. I was curious because I usually see a few cars on line every time I drive by so I figured it must be good. I ordered the greyere cheese and egg sandwich and a latte. I requested the bacon be crispy. I got my order in a few mins, very fast and drove to park in their lot to eat. My latte was barely warm and although the flavor of the sandwich was good, the bacon was very thin and yet not crispy....and overall wayyy over-priced for such a very small sandwich. We sat down on a somewhat busy Sunday looking forward all morning to brunch, as we dont get out that often. We were seated right away and took a table outside 2 out of 4 were empty, well one was being cleaned. We did not get any service. Someone sat down at the table that was dirty and then cleaned and then seated and they got water and coffee.... we went to the hostess stand and they said "oh no". And still, 2 more waitresses came out side and we still were not being paid any attenti9n too. First time at THIS location but I will never return or buy a gift card for a loved one so they dont have to experience what i went through. First Watch does not allow dogs on their outdoor patio, so I ordered to-go and ate with my dog in my car...and I STILL give them five stars! This place is unmatched in its freshness. The eggs are cage free, the bread seems homemade or at least hand-cut from a loaf, the tomatoes taste homegrown, and the skillet breakfast potatoes are off the chain! We need more places like this that have seasonal menus and fresh ingredients. If you want a Sysco brunch, just go to any neighboring establishment. If you want a REAL brunch, go to First Watch. Pathetic service. Rude experience placing order for take out. The waitress taking the order did not know their own menu. Wanted a tri athelete omlette that comes with fresh fruit (as advertised in their own website) and house potatoes instead of English muffin. I am happy to pay an upcharge, if there is that is fine. Instead, she insisted it comes with potatoes and all I could get was English muffin and potatoes. Or if the muffin cannot be substituted for potatoes (even with an upcharge), then let me know in a professional courteous manner and I would have been fine with it. Instead she was just short with me. You are in the service Industry in case you did not know. Her attitude was condescending at best and rude at worst. I am not paying my money to you to be insulted. Have dined here a couple of times now and both times have been great! The ambiance is bright and cheery, the service is friendly and helpful, and the food is fresh and tasty! They are great with substitutions and custom food requests (no cheese, add tomatoes, stuff like that). I got the tri-athlete omelet. My dining partner got the smoke salmon and vegetable frittata. We had a great breakfast in this restaurant, I tried the Benedict eggs per the waiter's recommendation, and they were super good; my daughter loved the am super bowl. If you have any concerns regarding your safety from the Covid pandemic, do not eat at First Watch. I went there on Sunday, August 15th, 2021 and found that none of their employees were wearing masks or taking any other visible precautions including the food preparers. When I contacted the company, they said they have made masks voluntary for their employees. Given the fact that Florida is leading the nation in Covid infections, I find this corporate attitude demonstrates a complete lack of concern for the safety of their customers and staff. A very disturbing example being set by a company that apparently just cares more about profits than the welfare of customers and employees. This business was previously one of my favorite breakfast locations. Never again. read more

I just need to vent a little because I hate feeling taken advantage of. First let me say I have always loved First Watch. I've never had an issue. Today was a bit different because I feel like they are taking advantage of the "food shortage" or cost of food items right now? I pretty much order a la carte because it's so specific: 3 basted eggs, 2 pieces of toast and a cup of fruit. I like 2 slices of toast because I get the 3 eggs. I don't mind up charges because I know that if I want certain extras I will need to pay more. Fine. First, a cup of coffee shouldn't cost $3.50. I just don't understand this. Even if it's endless refills. But when an extra slice of toast costs $4 I have to draw the line in the sand! I had to ask at the register. "Is this right?!" Yup! Bread is expensive right now. That was the reason. Okay, maybe put something on the menu about this (my friend made the same mistake with asking for an extra slice). Or maybe the waitress should warn people that for an extra slice of toast you will be paying $4!! An entire loaf of designer bread doesn't cost $4... does it?! . I am disappointed in you @firstwatch. At least my friend got them to take the charge off of his check. I on the other hand will not be going back. read more

I am a big fan of breakfast food, so this place didn't disappoint. The menu has a TON of options, some for those with a sweet tooth and some that are healthier but still really tasty. I had an egg, bacon, arugula and avocado sandwich with breakfast potatoes. It was pretty yummy (unfortunately I got a stomach ache a few hours later... I'm thinking it could have been the egg but no way of knowing for sure I guess) The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and I'm a big fan of them using farm-fresh ingredients!! We felt a bit neglected by our server, but to be fair it was pretty busy. Great cafe!! I would definitely go again :) read more

I ordered a turkey burger. It came out looking like it had gone through the dishwasher. One side had been seared and the other was not touched. The I burger was way overcooked. The entire thing was extremely chewy. The manager came out saying he was very sorry and replace my meal was something else. The bill came in I was shocked that he charged me for whatever my replacement was. The rest of my party all had to sit and wait while I finished my meal after they were all done. I have never been charged after the kitchen made such a horrendous mistake. read more

The service was awful, the food sucked, they brought the bacon limp when I asked for it crispy and then oily and cold the second round. The disabled bathroom was locked from the inside and there were no paper towels and the woman who went to get paper towels took so long I had to grab a roll of toilet paper to dry my hands. I've heard a lot of good things about this place in Georgia and since we were in Sarasota for the weekend and couldn't choose a closer breakfast or brunch place, we decided to come here. When we got in, there was a 20 minute wait that we were willing to wait for, so I put my name and number down. Immediately, I got a text stating that my name was put on their list and they'll call us when our table is ready. So we walked around the corner to the Starbucks to get something to drink while we wait. We sat outside and were conversing and we didn't notice that it's been 45 minutes already since we've waited with no notification that our table was ready. So I decided to call in case the wait just got ridiculously longer than expected. A female answered the phone, I told her that my name and number was put down and that I didn't receive a call. For whatever reason, she handed the phone to someone else. I had to explain again that I didn't receive a phone call cause that's what they said they would do. The male asked if I received a text stating that our table was ready and I said no, besides the one stating that my information was put down for a table. He went ahead and tried to explain that he did hit the button so that it would notify me with a text. What I didn't understand was the next thing he said, "You're the third person who has said you didn't get the text." Okay.. so if you've already had two other customers complain about the same thing, and our party doesn't show up... wouldn't that be a clue to go ahead and call to make sure we're still coming instead of trusting the fact that your system is working? He didn't sound sincere at all and said to come over because he was ready for us. When we got in, he didn't apologize and just showed us to our table. Overall, I was a little disappointed with the above and the food wasn't worth going back for and it sucks because now I wouldn't want to go to one back home in Georgia. I ordered the Parma Hash; the potatoes were under cooked and the sausage pieces were a bit big and seemed like they just threw everything together quickly. Only reason for the 2 stars is because they do have a Starbucks next door, a lot of parking, and half of us enjoyed what we ordered. I watched as the kitchen staff went into the walk-in cooler, then grabbed a clipboard, wrote something, adjusted his hat, straightened his pants, then went back to the cook line without washing his hands and changing his gloves.
